END OF VAN LIFE AFRICA

after six weeks here in morocco we are packing  up our bags and leaving our van again we're Eamon   and bec and back in march of 2020 we abandoned  this van trinity in a Moroccan parking lot after   nearly two years away we recently flew back  to rescue her and resume our plans to drive   around the world it's been a bit of an adjustment  moving back into 60 square feet again and life   on the road isn't exactly as we remembered  what on earth are we supposed to do this is   not what i had in mind for night one of our  return to van life but that's not really why we're   leaving like i have to fly home without you i  have to have my surgery without you i got through   customs just fine but Eamon got stuck  so the pcr test we have is not accepted originally the plan was the trinity at the  casablanca airport because she likes it there   but then we got a call from larry i found the  best painter for your van his name's and you have   to meet him and larry convinced us that trinity  needs a facelift and that a youb is the dream guy   but i don't know larry's been  stuck here like six months   anyways it's off to us we're  gonna meet up let's go meet him what's up dude how you doing nice to meet  you it's a big job now that we're actually   pointing out all of these rust spots i'm  realizing there is way more rust than i   ever thought on trinity here's where i really  come in handy paint color time it's gonna be   crazy to have trinity a different color but  we're leaning towards like a sahara sand   what do you guys think you have to go  at home and take more time to to have   the final decision yeah we make decisions very  quickly we make decisions like be fast okay okay   i like that this isn't perfect oh my gosh so  excited hey you seems like an absolute legend he doesn't have a lot of samples right now  so we're going to rip over to the paint shop   have a look for something a little bit more  perfect hang on the bible of colors oh my   this is like the first one that kind of  jumped oh my god look how many there are   no just give it a couple flips yeah i know  let's go bright let's go bright yellow this   is his second shop this is where it's gonna  fit hopefully blair bears van is moving out   and we're moving in they're excited in true  moroccan hospitality we have been invited to   ayu's house for dinner this evening i think we're  having couscous yes we just met him two days ago   that is just the beauty of maracas i  love them hi how are you nice to meet you   wow look at this place oh my goodness  pretty fancy look at this couch set up this looks amazing pumpkin  carrot chickpeas onion couscous it's all in my belly looking like i'm looking for  dessert looking jelly hella belly every single day   i'm looking for a little bit of sugar hey hey move  what you gonna do when the camera turns to your but before he was really good oh that's good good morning we have 55 hours until we fly so  it's time to stick a swab up our nose good morning   buddy our appointment's in 10 minutes buddy buddy  our appointment was five minutes ago thank you did you hear me five minutes ago   we made it to the pcr lab only to remember that  we have no more drms we can pay for these now oh see you tomorrow oh i don't like that   chemical feeling in my nose yeah you guys  remember ayman's favorite laundry guy we dropped off a big load so  that when we come back in january   things are [ __ ] and span and nice  and fresh pressing look how fresh we've driven 20 minutes outside of the city  center because we need a campground to open up   all the doors and clean up this van first  things first it's time to clamp the dishes nothing like a little midday  called prayer to wake you up bumble   you just wanted to sleep through the dishes right   i've been meaning to do a really good  clean out since we got back to morocco we have decided we are going to leave a lot of  our clothes here but we're still bringing quite   a bit of stuff back we bought some gifts we just  had a bit of an off-camera moment which typically   means that one or both of us is either hungry  or tired in this case i think eamon is both   so i sent him on a little walk let him get some  food come back when he's ready to help before we   get any further we're gonna get something for  lunch oh there's some fresh bread right here to paint so i'm just going to go through and see   scrunchy 38 49 50 51 52. that cards keep the thing about van life is it takes two  seconds to get absolutely thundered messy   destroyed in this van but it doesn't take too  long to clean either buddy oh hello hi how are   you pretty good welcome back i got you some bread  nice there's nothing a fresh baguette sandwich   there's so much stuff on the floor dude  you are not healthy yeah i got a bit of   a cold going on here ah turns out i was  hungry i feel much better now thank you amen's upset i'm filming him doing this but  he just asked for a neck massage and i said   you should show the people how whiny you are  today come on that hurts yeah i threw my neck   out sneezing honestly i did i know that  sounds funny i need to get our really wanted to share the  other reason we're going home with all of you   i know that back in the summer i shared about my  breast cancer scare and that things were looking   all clear what i haven't shared is that since then  i've had an appointment that made me a little bit   more worried and they were throwing around words  and treatments and anyways step one is going back   home to get surgery which could potentially  lead to another surgery and some further   treatment but i'm staying much more positive  this time around although i am feeling a lot more   anxious and ready to just go home get this out  of my body and sort of move on from this chapter   hopefully i've been debating sharing this with you  because i don't want you to worry and i don't even   fully know what's going on so there's no sense  getting everybody worked up but i also don't like   not sharing parts of my life that are really big  and important and something that's weighing on me   and um yeah i already feel better just getting  that off of my chest and sharing it with you so   yeah before my sister's wedding i have my surgery  and i will keep you posted on how everything goes that's that morning bud how'd you sleep looks  like the kitty got a nerve man get out of here   dude get out of here oh sorry to see you go they  were great bed sheets santa will you bring us some   bed sheets for christmas bring and some more first  stop this morning is larry's to drop off any food   we have in the fridge but before we do that we're  gonna make ourselves breakfast good morning good   morning larry's not only amazing at music he's  got a real knack for hugs this way every car he's a good hugger he shortened it usually it's  longer i did i was embarrassed have you ever had   these these are lupini beans so good get them  in there fresh quinoa with a little bit of tofu   teriyaki tofu on top okay that's a lunch get her  in there all right sun dried get them in there a bridge has been emptied  vent mode enabled bye larry i'm just gonna run this up here up to  larry's all right travel safe test results negative yes conclusion negative whoa why  does mine look different oh my god what i don't know mine looks so different no that's  just the receipt maybe jesus bro i opened this   look at this oh my gosh test the coronavirus so  good i literally had like a 10 second thing where   like i have to fly home without you i have  to have my surgery without you i have to go   would have been a great bed oh my gosh mega teeth  bro you just got some allergies and some snot   yep nice now we just need to ditch our van is  this the spot i don't know is it this is the spot i'm a little bit stressed and it's not that  i'm stressed about not trusting ayub i think   he's an amazing guy it's just we're literally  handing over the keys and they're removing all   the doors and painting them and the bolts and  screws and stuff's just going to be everywhere   so it's it's quite a big task to  manage and you just gotta really   surrender timing has worked out really  well the taxi man just rolled up all right buddy okay man here we are i will  take care of your baby yeah see you dude casa where are you going i'm not gonna say it's my  fault but it might be my fault nice oh the bed is huge thank you hotel it was a slice and we are  going to find a bus get to the airport i'm   getting a little stressed the bus is running  late and we're late for our flight already hey you guys wanted to go to the airport all  right welcome to custard the bus everybody oh my god hanging out with craig and amy is too much fun hey a cap uh it's three o'clock and our flight's  up five so uh let's shift this puppy into gear huh   i'll press the red button it really is a shame that these guys decided  to show up to morocco the day we are leaving   but we are looking forward to an epic  journey in january when we return we gotta go is there someone you can  speak english you can talk to   so the pcr test we have is not accepted it  needs to be accepted through a specific website   which beck is trying to connect them now  i literally had to take off my shirt i was   sweating so much i'm so nervous she's now gone  over to the other lady to see if that's correct we made it we've hit another snag i got through customs  just fine but amy got stopped because   trinity our campervan is registered to eamonn's  name so he had to go back and he's hopefully   filling out a really quick form and hopefully we  can make this fight as if today can't be any more   stressful i was just getting a shot of eamonn  coming back through with the paperwork for the   van i was describing to you don't do that oh  my gosh the two cops and this man just came   running at me screaming making me delete the  clip saying i'm just not having a good time   it's okay it's only going up from  here we're almost through foreign it's one of those crazy flights  where you land the same time   that you left it's like a time change man i figure the best thing i can  do is try and get some sleep so   that's what i'm trying to do seeing a little bit great buddy hey buddy she's  stealing your blanket and headphones sorry i broke my feet i just wanted to be in late flight all day baby after a long line of customs we were  randomly selected to get tested for   combat well you seem happy about  it i'm happy about it whatever   we have a 12 hour layover and literally no plan  so we're following a thought in this house hotel   and hoping for the best i don't know how  much it's gonna cost on the sixth floor yikes all right good night everybody oh good morning good morning this is definitely a theme in this video they  just called us again for the final boarding call   what are we doing what are you most excited about getting back to  canada um the cabin hugging our friends and family for sure how canada i gotta defrost the  plane i don't have headphones yet but   i know all the words to every friends  episode ever so i'm a choice fan girl hello baby it's freezing it's crazy out here hey hey  hi doggies hey back welcome home thanks for   picking us up yeah it's warm in here well  you guys look like so uh refreshing we feel   really good yeah you need some color man you guys  look like unbelievable i thought you'd be tired   hey man business class you just the near future hi lucy whoa welcome home i miss the cabin oh the baby breathing that air our illegal deck oh my gosh i love it here i love it here too dude i know i'm gonna cry again welcome  to cabin life baby where's either dock one two i lost a dog okay i love a lot of things about  trinity but i've been waiting for this moment oh and when even annoys me he can go to his own  bedroom i don't annoy you you really don't get   appreciation until it gets taken away from  you like everything about canada we are so   privileged flying in we were like holy [ __ ] look  how developed this country is yeah look at the   lights on the road like drinking from the tab all  of these crazy things right we're so so fortunate   and so lucky to experience life outside of canada  too to come home and really appreciate it so   it's good to be home it's good to be home  nothing but smiles here see you sunday
