Empires SMP: A Caves and Cliffs Starter House | Minecraft 1.17 Let's Play Episode 1

hello everyone and welcome to empire's smp so i suppose it would be a good idea for me to tell you how exactly i got here and what the plan is it started once upon a time when a bunch of youtubers get together and stand in a circle as they normally do in an snp hey folks and welcome to empire's smp now as with most smps once the beginning remarks are out of the way chaos normally ensues as it did quite well with this smp [Music] everyone grab the bamboo and run oh my gosh eventually though we gathered our beginning materials and we had so much fun in a call together organizing our things and getting those starter materials jeff come here new thing oh what's that can we shoot oh i'm making some shears as my first priority i didn't want this vine i'm making it i got it i was making a picture i got a new glow thing oh god no wait wait that's wait oh god we're gonna die you're going to i'm not we started off in a ravine but we quickly trekked to our respective empires and began our journey gathering things my first priority was to go and find shipwrecks so that i could get moss because i really wanted moth block so i went off and did exactly that but not before setting up my home area a little bit grabbing some cows and setting up a little chess station i had so much amazing luck out on my adventure i found not only a pirate ship with some moss in it i also managed to find a buried treasure and obtained my very first diamond and that my friends is how we get back to where we are now it's about a good time for me to go and actually get some materials but i heard from a good friend that somebody on this smp needs help with some mining because you know the caves are big and scary now so what do you say we go and give some help to my friend mythical sausage over at his base hey everybody what's up hello lovely place you've got here oh thank you thank you don't mind the prison over here it's no big deal no it's fine don't look don't look in there don't speak to the prisoners i'm looking at him what are you gonna do about it come on down i need help i went down this hole right here this giant gaping hole and there's a lot of cave down there and two ones that i can't even handle so uh you can help me out and go down there's a bunch of riches there too should we divide up into two groups and go tackle this cave here and see what the heck's happening yes yeah absolutely yes yes yes yes whoever has the most diamonds at the end it gets to laugh at the other people who don't have diamonds i interrupt this portion of the video to bring you myself pixel riff sausage and flip discovering the spyglass okay here you go jim enjoy a spyglass of friendship pics here you go to enjoy oh please don't murder me or take over my kingdom but the sound is so cool oh my gosh yeah it's like optifine isn't out yet but we have the next best thing right here this looks amazing thank you thank you moisturized this morning sausage i can see right up your nose look at this oh don't look in there gemma i haven't picked it in a while it's something lingering it looks so funny looking at people holding them oh my gosh that's amazing yeah i always said that these these might not necessarily replace optifine zoom but they're going to be so cool for role play a pirate ship full of people using these is going to be incredible and back to your regular mining session i teamed up with whip and catherine if that isn't obvious based on the clip whoa what is this drip stone the block above it is also gypsum yeah i don't know what yeah oh yeah so if you put water if you put water all the way above the top top one this will like keep dripping and grow longer that's so cool so then you can and then you can turn it into that top block too can't you put a cauldron under there and collect water yeah and lava too if you have whatever's sitting on top you can you'll get that okay i love all the learning we're doing but they're going to beat us get down here flip go go go go go do we just like run ahead of them how are we doing this yeah run ahead there's a geode oh i've never seen one of these before beautiful wow what oh my god oh it's this i love them oh the sounds they're amazing whoa baby oh i don't like the babies look at you monster hunter you did it thank you i should have brought another shovel i only have a cobble shovel redstone your dog is severely in my way but i'm sorry um guys here he finds them look what oh it's so pretty i didn't mind it mine wait wait wait wait has to see it it's so pretty isn't it oh right there i was like in the redstone oh it's beautiful all right so we gotta toss it around so we all get the advancement right okay i already got the advantages here there's another one here yes okay there we go there we go there we go get that one catherine i'll get this one oh no uh here take those you can make a pickaxe i'll find some later you go for it are you sure yeah go ahead okay we'll find more table i need to make a crafting table do it do it i didn't bring wood for you right here i got you i got you i love you thank you so much i actually don't have wood to make sticks oh my gosh here you have that i don't know i have one plank oh thank you so much i love the hand holding i appreciate it thank you look at my picture oh i think i found a geode wait no i think i just found it oh i did really yeah come over here oh i hear it it's beautiful oh it's so pretty it's so pretty oh it looks so cool in here this is amazing oh i got a crystal i want one too why does your dog insist on coming with me i don't know he really likes you he just really likes you doggie your owner's over there oh i found more diamonds nice oh hey they're connected to me thank you three and three now we all have three sweet heck yeah we all have a diamond pick hello oh i mean i found a ravine oh not quite a cave okay how did that even get down here what i don't know i'm gonna go poke around a little bit and see if we got anything i'm gonna make a second one so we can have double smith i'm gonna make double the power third one so we have one each oh watch out behind you okay watch out that thank you for talking to me i almost freaked out oh i saw that fall from the ceiling [Music] don't go up the water sit yeah that's just so big i love the glowy viney things that make it like you can see upwards in spots spooky scary skeletons nothing cute says shivers down your spine this gold is so buttery though like in comparison am i the only one like look really nice it is a chunk of butter now i'm not mad at it that's what we have to call it surprise do you have any butter it is butter look at the big spiky things i didn't even notice them in the ravine did you see that look at that one growing from the top to the bottom there too it's so wait i'm getting my spyglass out oh it's so pretty you used some spider glass in the caves i like that we mined the diamonds and just left the gold and the iron right above it we are ignoring everything all of our responsibilities and there's lots of butter over here there's so much butter oh mlg i did land it i didn't land it not this time it did not work oh i threw my gold at you i'm sorry that wasn't helpful but ooh butter i got some butter out of it it's fine i'm gonna mlg [Music] pro i'm not just a builder i can do stuff i can do stuff professional minecrafter all around hear zombie nose oh there's a creeper up there gather you got it i believe we do gather it oh wolfy is going go wolfie over run away [Music] oh nice okay we're brave we're very brave people here there's another creeper oh god there's another line there's a lot there's a counter there's a spawner i just hit flip i'm sorry it was i'm sorry oh there's another name tag take it nice and sweet now we all have one right i don't know that and i'm guessing that flip wants the beetroot or one of them at least not taking the spider string beetroot farmer what's happening did you hear him he just said look for the eye what the enderman he said look for the eye you know that they they have words right wait what they do yeah he just said look for the eye when did you learn to speak enderman maybe you need to go get some fresh air no i'm ser i will send you a video okay friends okay upwards upwards upwards to adventure after you jim i dig you torch got it oh they're getting diamonds you know we didn't get very many diamonds but i'm proud i'm sitting on nine right now okay i have one in my inventory and you know i was gonna say i was gonna say before we before you throw accusations out there sorry we all crafted a diamond pickaxe down here right and then i think we just split we add all of our diamonds up and split it three ways that that seemed good when she's mining it's like it's like her bus wiggling why are you staring at me it looks so funny wait time let me go first look how weird this looks wait when you're crouched when you're crouched doing it it's like i don't know why it does that it's amazing keep placing the torches what happened to your shoes you lost a lot of things and that's your hat i'm kind of naked right now but it's fine but it's fine i got a lot of these oh i'm sorry i was trying to zoom in on your plate so we all came back up with diamonds right yeah uh not so much unfortunately i have a lot of copper and raw iron though so here we go you can combine those i've got bean blocks baby where that came from we have butter this looks like butter yeah we got a lot of bottles oh heck yes i thought this was baked potatoes too so uh what did your team in total come out to i have 14. i've got diamonds together that's the thing it's efficiency to split up and you guys did it so we're fine diamonds yeah we all know i uh i stripped mine for maybe 10 minutes and still didn't find anything so i let the side down massively i think we had 19 in total um yeah as a group we split them up actually evenly split all of our diamonds because we were a team share everything i like my 10 diamonds i'm good you know what picks if i had a crafting table i'd be doing the same thing yeah i got i got an audio this is not sharing this is war all right i like having alliances pearl i have my alliances we're all friends here there's nothing quite like a good mining session with friends to start off a world and we are very well geared up now i have full iron armor a couple of iron tools and a whole bunch of stuff that i've just gotten from foraging around the general area and especially in that village these emeralds are a prime example of that but we've also gotten a whole bunch of blocks and that means it's officially time to build a starter house are you excited pig the pig's leaving me that's fine that's i get it it's fine i'm particularly excited about my area because i have chosen this absolutely gorgeous mountain isn't it just amazing i noticed that part of the update isn't out yet but what a good mountain i've also claimed this little bit of forest down here and i'm sure we'll be able to do something like this around our empire but for now i'm gonna focus on the mountain what excuse me you're super tough to kill actually chase right well before i am killed by something else that comes out of the forest i think it's time for me to gather some materials starting with this lovely bit of spruce that i've gathered here don't mind me just chopping down my first giants first tree of the season so i think now is a good time for me to climb all the way up here and give you guys a good lay of the land uh one second mountain climbing is still just as difficult as ever but it is very easy for the goats which i am jealous of can you please not boot me off this mountain that'd be appreciated thank you thank you they're very cute i think that i would like to theme my starter house around a couple of my favorite things in this update so far one is geodes and these spyglass things and the other is goats goats are awesome this is my lovely mountain and my goat friend this is the top of it i don't know what i'm gonna be doing up here yet but as you can see across the way that over there is flip and if i look that way there's nothing but scott is going to be living over here just outside the render distance and if i look this way over that way again can't see it from here but that's going gonna be katherine so i have so many friends i'm so excited for that goat anyways as i was saying this is my land as you can see i have set up my cows right there and my chest is somewhere along i'm not sure it's it's somewhere there and that's the village that i've picked out we've got a fantastic view from up here but it's kind of difficult to get up here so i think it's not ideal to place a starter house up on top of a mountain okay so starter house time i really enjoy this area of the mountain i think that it's absolutely beautiful and it has this little like indented area right here which i'm already visualizing as a great place to enter the mountain so for now i'm going to start us off with a very very simple if i if i can entrance to the mountain and we're going to dig inside something just like so should do the trick now as i've said i am inspired by a geode for this build along with the mountain goats so we're combining my two loves and i'm going to live in a mountain in a cliff house in a house that is inspired by the look of a geode listen to this so here's the thing if i want to be inspired by goats the proper way then i gotta live properly in the mountains not on the ground over there in the mountains so i'm gonna create myself a little safety splash like that yeah that seems good hopefully i don't drown anybody in the process uh sorry but this is gonna allow me to get up and down because i don't have feather falling yet i feel like i'm a genius to be honest and now i'm gonna climb up here and lay the framework for my brand new goat inspired house and i think it's gonna go right about here oh it's been so long since i've built this high up and starter ah this is so much fun look at it and then we can like dig it in as well once we have these platforms set up we can kind of bring them in a little bit and have so much space on the interior of the mountain i'm excited now i just gotta go up the appropriate amount i want it to be fairly tall i think and then maybe over a little while create myself a little ledge and then i suppose the only thing left to do is start on the roof it should be pretty reasonable i think the amethyst is what really ties this together because it's normally so difficult to get a block this vibrant in the early game but this amethyst is not too hard to get in small amounts they do just spawn in geodes but still if you find even one geode that's enough to make a small house okay it's looking absolutely fantastic but there is a lot to be done yet i need to decide on the wall block which i'm kind of thinking calcite but then birch planks or oak planks would probably also look good so i'm gonna play around with that a little bit and i also need some support beams and a tunnel connecting down through um there's some work to be done is what i'm saying but it looks great great start fantastic start and now for the walls i'm loving this bright white color it's so lovely it would look good with diorite it looks good with this wool that i'm kind of using as the bottom border i'm liking it i was a bit nervous getting myself into the whole idea of a cliff house and getting excited about it but to be honest 10 out of 10. very worth the risk i actually love it it needs a lot of details and one of those things that i want to do actually is use moss block so you can get moss now and this is a block that i am extremely excited about probably my favorite thing that they've added but an important thing about it is a the color my favorite color green and b spreads very easily all you need is bone meal which i have thank goodness and see the color doesn't change in areas like this look at this you ready i'm gonna plop it down right there i'm gonna bone meal it and look look at this look at the bushes look look at how pretty this whole area could potentially be with moss now not the grass to be honest but just the moss i'm so pleased with it so i'm going to use this to sort of decorate this entire area eventually for now i'm i'm mostly focusing on my amethyst area and i want to sort of get this area all set up with my proper storage and my crafting table and things that i'm no longer out in the open so let me go do that and i'll be back in just a moment and while we're on the topic of decorating it's time to give catherine a visit i see nothing wait don't tell me you almost had it you're not gonna be able to see me from there wait oh my god okay wait wait i'm gonna go up this hill i feel like you're hiding i'm not feeling nope warmer oh my god you look like a birch tree from over there a birch tree yeah because you're like the shade of your armor looks like the bark of a birthday i am insulted no my heck look at my spot the chiming of the uh i know i love walking on this it's so cute oh my gosh you use the vines do they grow or do you just i haven't seen them grow yet no okay they might not this is your you have a donkey i do have a donkey gee he doesn't have a name yet but he went on he went with me on my flower picking journey he's very uh agile on those two legs is he glitched on the two legs for you no he's just standing he's perfectly yeah oh no he's normal for me i've come to your humble abode requesting flowers i have flowers for you okay listen i have something very important to show you okay i want to discover this on my journey come on come ready and it's imaginable look at this you have one of the bushes stop look at it isn't it perfect wow i love it so much i love it too i was so happy when we discovered this and it grows into trees and then you you get the tree and then it has leaves that are flowered wait the bush grows into the tree so this is kind of like a crazy sapling like this i'm gonna grow you a random tree whoa isn't it cool i'm leaving this here thank you i think they're just the coolest ever it's so pretty and the purple matches my pads it says that's so cute did you know that these bushes can go inside flower pots i didn't try it oh you take it i think push oh look at it oh my goodness so cute it's perfect you got to put it inside your house yeah 100 i have more flower pots for you too i have flowers in this chest over here you can take all of them if you want and i also have flower pots made right here in this dress wow thank you it's perfect this is exactly i don't know how many you want i just kind of spam clicked the ground a little bit i think you can which ones are lacking in there because i can go smack some more but these are okay i think we're i mean we're lacking some corn flowers but corn flour no no i totally have those another chest wait a minute how many corn flowers are in there four ew those are weak numbers enjoy your flowers thank you enjoy your moss thank you bye goodbye goodbye goodbye goodbye i tried to echo it didn't necessarily sound great i you know it was a good attempt there's nothing quite like a lovely visit with a good friend i am so excited about all of these flowers that catherine gave us i can properly decorate this whole area now and especially this pathway look at this look at this it's gonna be so pretty so some of these flowers are gonna be a little different than what you're normally seeing in vanilla minecraft because flip has a texture pack on this amazing server and i think that it's one that he worked on but i'm not 100 sure but look the flowers aren't they so cute in these little bunches like this i just want to really lighten up this entire area with this beautiful green and all of this lush flowery land my inventory however is getting extremely out of hand if i do say so myself so i think that we finally should get a storage room going in here so that i can work on more projects so i was thinking that even though my cliff house is great i have a great view a great bedroom there's not a whole lot else that is great about this interior yet so i figure i fix it up a little bit and start on a storage room right about here i think that way like i have to come up a little bit but i don't have to go up all the way it's like a little bit separated i think that would work out really well okay i've been working on my base area and i want to show you what i've got so far and i really like it so in here i have an entrance down into a mining area i have my staircase that leads upwards and at the top of the staircase i have my storage room this general little area where i can work where i have sort of all of my things kinda sorted kind of not and then we can continue up the stairs some more and i'll have my bedroom and hopefully eventually an enchanting setup up here it's so lovely i'm really happy with my starter house i think this is going to be a great place to expand from but i have some news so when i was online mining with my friends we collected some diamonds but i didn't actually really mind any we shared the diamonds that we got but i never really did anything with them so i thought it'd be about time to make a lovely diamond pickaxe and head down into the mines to see if we can get some obsidian and get started on like a nether portal and some stuff for an eventual enchanting area look at this and look what i found when i was lighting some of this up first of all we have some of this epic deep slate ores and over here diamonds those are diamonds isn't it so cool look at this whole cave whoa we got drip stone we have so much down here emerald ore what i actually came down here for today was some obsidian i'm gonna leave these diamonds because i think that maybe we can try to get some fortune and that would be more beneficial i think only problem is i really need to find some lava this must be it yes here's some lava perfect perfect okay i did it i have 16 obsidian i'm not sure if this is the exact amount that i need but seems good anyways i'll come back down here when i need some more caving materials but for right now i need to focus really hard on some of those starting game things one of those all-important early game things that i don't really have sorted out yet is farms not chicken farms though sorry um i want crop farms like potatoes and carrots and wheat all the things the villagers over there have the right idea but i don't actually have any farms set up so i'm gonna go ahead and grab some wood i think for my storage room and see if i can set up a cute little area for some starter farming as you can see over here i have actually started on a little sugar cane farm so that i can get some growing so i can make books uh for now though it's just kind of lame these starter early game days make me so happy and it's so nice being on an smp with other people to actually get to enjoy the starter part of the game okay so here is what i'm thinking we have this cute little hillside right what if i plan out just a couple of different sort of beds of crops just along here uh sort of like so i might be over complicating the beginning farming aspect of this game but look at this i just i just love the prospect of being able to farm in these little beds like this they look cute and we don't actually need like mass materials right now so it's a good time to be able to actually do these smaller farms all i need now is a hoe some water and some seeds i don't actually have a nearby water source so i'm gonna make one right here i keep stealing from the villagers and i'm getting the feeling they're not appreciating it so for farms like this i like to just put a little bit of water in the middle and then cover it up with a slab this does a much better job of disguising it once everything's all grown up and it hydrates the whole thing on smaller areas like this one over here i'm gonna do a very similar thing but i'm gonna put it directly under the other block so it doesn't take away from the farming space all right the only thing that i have got to do now is actually get to planting all of these lovely crops now it's going to be quite a little mixture of them for right now because i don't have a lot of all of them but we'll get some pockets of different items and it'll be all good i also have some of these sweet berries which i absolutely love but they're a bit of a menace because they hurt so i'm gonna just pop those in a couple of little areas this is what i'm talking about it's so much more beautiful i love it now the next thing that i'm wanting for the early game is something that they're actually talking about in chat honeycombs i actually had some bees at my spawn but it seems like they've left they haven't come back and i harvested this hive a while ago so i think those bees sadly left me i can however go and hopefully convince some new ones to come to my beautiful flowery area i hope i'm gonna use some of this honeycomb that i got from the bees that used to live here to put towards a brand new hive for them hopefully i'll be able to convince them to stay with me if i move some more bees to this area so armed with my flowers my beehive and my campfires and some shears i do have shears i have shears we go off on an adventure through the forest to hopefully locate a bee oh i found some sheeps i would like to take you back to my home i don't have any wheat on me though still no luck just a big butt how are there this many roses in one area but no bees oh i see one i see a bee i've located a b okay b two b's two b's okay b b b b b hello b hello yes you come on over here um there's your hive okay that's really fun that you have a hive right there really importantly i just need some honeycomb first and then we are gonna go on an adventure back to my house if i can remember where it is okay i found evidence of my existence so i think we're on the right track come on in you go in you go i got you your own custom beehive um we see if these two will breed and now here's the tricky thing about this um i have to make sure these bees don't leave again yeah no leaving no leaving this is my official b greenhouse you got it don't worry i have gone ahead and make sure my bees inside feel just as at home as the ones that are outside these guys should eventually help me to be able to start up my own bee wax farm which i'm excited about i'll be able to make candles and things maybe even get some cool trades with the other empires ah another beautiful morning on empire smp gosh i feel like i've gotten so much progress done in this episode we have a storage room with bees we have a beautiful cliff house we have the start of a mine entrance down here we have gardens outside and moss blocks and cows and life is good but there's one thing that we're still missing i went to get obsidian earlier and then i didn't do anything with it so i figure we'll finally go ahead and get ourselves a proper nether portal i'm really liking the look of this area right over here where the cow is just to tuck a little nether portal in here behind the waterfall i think that'd be so mysterious and pretty and of course we need a flint and steel and bam there we go our very first nether portal it's perfect now all it needs is a couple of decorations absolutely everything looks better with amethyst around it so i'm definitely going to be incorporating some of that i've also brought over some of this smooth basalt because i really like the look of it and i think that it would just make a lot of sense in these sort of areas okay i know it's just a nether portal but i think this is so beautiful so far look at it with the purples in it we can put some crystals eventually once we have silk touch i really like this i think it's so cute one of the things that i'm loving about living in a mountain is i don't really have to worry about the grass color because i can simply do this kind of all over the place and get a bunch of cool bushes and then place some flowers and things that's going to help this area so much watch bam totally transferred oh the cow the cow's going on an adventure oh it's so much better already of course i am also going to put some of these leaves around because they're absolutely beautiful the azalea leaves oh so bright and vibrant in this mountain biome yep mission accomplished i think that this is absolutely perfect it's exactly what i wanted now of course before i can end this episode i do want to take a quick look in that nether i'm excited i want to see what it has in store where's our spawn where's our spawn whoa okay it's certainly much more peaceful back at home this place is so so weird gosh okay that's enough adventuring for one day i think i feel so much better after being in there almost a little bit more like myself and with that everyone that is all for today's episode thank you so much for joining me on episode
