(chill music) - Welcome back. I'm going to take you on a tour today to check out a brand new A380. Let's go. (chill music) (upbeat music) This is the product
we've been waiting for. The premium economy. Let's check out a seat here. Oh look at the leather, white colour, beige colour leather here. So let's recline. And what's nice also, my leg can go directly underneath
the seats in front of me. The additional feature
you find this seat has, which economy doesn't is the leg rest. So now I'm going to lift the leg rest up, and then I can still
slide down while I sit, so this gives you that extra
comfort and extra room. (upbeat music) So personally, if you ask my opinion about the premium economy, I think is a win for the consumer. There's a fourth cabin
product on the Emirates 380, so now there's a product
fit every budget to choose. (upbeat music) Beautiful products on the A380, it's great to see you guys
doing investing on it. But Emirates is not the first airline the world to offer premium economy. What makes you now to offer such products? - There is a lot of demand
from our existing customers who wants to experience something more than the current standard economy. And this premium economy will
give them that opportunity to enjoy something more luxurious, and a very nice comfortable seat. You can see me in here, has
got a nice eight inch recline. It's got a wonderful leg rest area. So it's very comfortable, especially when it comes
to a long haul flight. - And you have five more
A380 yet to be delivered. Is there any plan to
retrofit existing planes in the fleet to have
premium economy as well? - It's difficult to support
our business requirement with five aircraft, so
this required us to upgrade some of our existing fleet. So there will be an upgrade
from our existing E37, and the A380 aircraft
with the premium economy. At least there'll be more than 55% of our fleet that we have today. will be fitted with premium economic. - Well, many other airlines
are now retiring the A380, they couldn't make it work. But for Emirates, you are still operating many A380 around your network every day. - Our business model is unique and it had been working for us quite well. We need a bigger capacity aircraft, especially with a lot of airport have restricted capacity and operations. And we have seen this since
we've taken our first aircraft in 2008 has been a successful story. And we find that our
customer love this aircraft. There is some kind of
bonding that gets developed once you fly the aircraft
for the first time. We are the first airline to introduce electro window shades for economy section. Especially at a time when you
want to darken the whole thing it give you a hundred percent darkness. Son, do you think what you're
standing and looking at here? - This looks like a tree. - It is a tree from our home town Dubai. It is called Ghaf. We always trying to introduce something in our aircraft interiors to reflect the nature of our countries, and this country to reflect exactly that. So we work quite a lot with people in trying to see what can we
else introduce in our aircraft? So tell you what this tree is about. (upbeat music) - Now guys, this is the
best seats for a nav geek, 'cause you have to forward
leading edge engine view. So 40 alpha and 40 kilo, the last row in the premium economy gives you that great view. So I want to share with
you the little tip here how to fly in the
Emirates premium economy. And currently this A380
rotated on EK3 and EK4 daily between London and Dubai. So if you are flying on this flight and sitting in the former economy, you might be the lucky one to fly in the new premium economy product. Currently Emirates is not
selling the premium economy until they have more aeroplanes equipped with the new products. So for the time being they're
giving complimentary upgrades for frequent flyers and full
fare paying economy passengers. More details of the soft
products in premium economy will be reviewed in the near future. Now, let's take a look on the upper deck. (upbeat music) And here, we have a little
waterfall inside the A380. Isn't that fantastic? It looks like they've done
a lots of changes here. I have lots of Ghaf trees
around the wall here. It used to be Dubai skyline I remember, a lot more beige. And now it's more modern now, it has this very sophisticated look, more brown, beige, cream, more mixed look. (upbeat music) This is really impressive. It's so beautiful honestly. When you see it, you would agree with me. As the white letter and
everything looks so upscale. The whole business class, the
whole atmosphere has changed because the fabric has changed. So there are subtle changes
in business class as well. If you notice this head rest
here and the whole seat design, this whole fabric change design was inspired from automobile. And what I like about
this, it's very, very soft, there's that additional
support for your head. Not just the leather cushion but this very soft cushion on top of it. (upbeat music) I love touring the new aeroplane. Look at the economy class, all the fabric has changed. Now with this turquoise blue,
I can see it's very well lit, it gives a bright feeling. (upbeat music) It's such a beautiful interior and I hope you will get a
chance to fly on this A380 soon. (upbeat music) (upbeat music continues)
