Elden Ring - The Perfect Keyboard And Mouse Settings

what's up guys it's your boy damon and welcome back to another elden ring video today guys i'm going to literally save your life especially my pc gamers that have been struggling to use the controller because people have been telling you that the game is just made for controller and that you need to use a controller it's not going to work out well i'm here to tell you that after playing with a bunch of settings i'm going to show you how to play this game as if it was made for keyboard and mouse there's a couple of key settings that i'm going to show you guys today that will literally change the way you play this game and then you can throw away your controller literally okay so let's go ahead and get into this um we're going to break down the settings i've been playing with this a lot there are still a couple of things that i'm still trying to fine tune and tweak that aren't perfect but in terms of movement and everything else um it's on the money i'm talking about it feels like i'm playing all the games that i already play anyway with buttons configured the way that we're used to pressing the buttons so with that being said let's get into the first thing before we get into how i got into toggle lock on and all that other stuff the most important thing you need to know before we get started is this setting right here this setting says device for on-screen prompts is what's going to show you your keyboard inputs right so you said it says znx here and it's not a damn xbox controller when you switch this to keyboard and mouse it'll show you keyboard inputs instead of controller inputs this is going to change your life once you can see this it'll tell you what buttons to press you'll then know that q is for back you know e is for forward right you'll know that g is for the map right um however there are some other things that we're going to go over as well in this video like how to switch from one hand to two-hand but we'll cover that a little bit later after we go over the control functionality now when we get into this i think one of the biggest things that enabled me uh or enabled the game to feel very immersive in terms of keyboard and mouse that didn't feel very clunky was to turn the auto lock and the auto target off what these two functions do is they basically make it to where every time you you know run into a mob you're auto targeting and it's turning your camera and for a keyboard and mouse player like it's really annoying imagine playing a fps and a target runs up on your your camera just automatically turns like it's it's annoying or like if the ai can't decide which target for you to focus on so by turning these two settings off it now gives you the freedom to to focus on the target that you want to focus on so after you turn these two settings off it's like money in the bank so then what you're going to do is turn the manual attack aiming setting on now for my range people out there don't worry don't worry i'm going to go over how you guys can still manage everything efficiently the biggest thing for my range peeps is you guys are just going to focus on utilizing your lock on button uh when you're facing the target that you're trying to you know kill so when we get into that controller vibration we don't care about but once you guys have these settings in place you guys can play with this and immediately you'll feel the difference now we already talked about this setting of course so now let's go ahead and get into the key bindings which i think are going to be money now i want to mention that you're going to probably want to play with the camera speed which i keep at zero because keyboard and mouse when you first come to this game like the camera is just flying okay just literally flying all over the place so i put mine to zero and you can start from zero and work your way up because that way it'll kind of give you a better feel and you're going to use that in combination with your mouse sensitivity i play low sense because i play valorent right so because i play low sends i'm running my sensitivity at four with the camera speed at zero and i'm also running at 800 dpi on my mouse program okay g hub all right so if you guys can start there and see how that feels and speed it up from there if you like but that's the setting that i found works i mean flicking is fine and moving everything around is fine for me but if you guys need it a little bit faster you guys can just adjust from there i didn't really change any access settings no need to and then when we get into key bindings this is the money in the bank right here so my primary focus here was i wanted to make the game feel as if it was designed for keyboard and mouse so i'm looking for key settings that every game that you play wasd basically has okay settings like shift for your sprint so what i did here was i set shift and an extra mouse button for my dodge right i'm used to using my mouse buttons i use a logitech g502 so the two side buttons i'm just used to using i use them for the abilities that i use in valor as well so i set a mouse dodge here and then i use shift here and i don't use shift for dodging or backstepping at all i just use it when i need to sprint because for those years for because for those of you guys who don't know if you hold your dodge button down it's actually your sprint function so that's that's why i set shift there for my sprinting right and then when i need to dodge i release my shift and then i press my dodge button on my mouse and that's kind of how i got that to work now in terms of jump i switched that to space bar because who the hell is pressing f to jump no body and that actually freed up the f key for me and then i changed the crouch from x to c because x ecstasy x for me is normally prone when i play games and so it's it was really weird for me to press x to crouch so i went ahead and switched that to c and it feels a lot more fluid now when we get down to the camera stuff i didn't really touch any of that um i did change the lock on remove target this is not necessary i just changed to t because t for target you know right just makes sense but you guys can easily just press the middle mouse button down and it works just the same now for the switch armament i did one through four i'm still kind of working on this i have to kind of move this around this is not really said i'm still tinkering with that so i wouldn't really worry about this but these these buttons just allow you to switch your weapons easier so you're not shift clicking and all that other craziness because i deleted all of that shift click combo nonsense i got rid of all of it and then so now i'm just trying to work this out so what i wanted to do was be able to press like one from my right hand was what i'm gonna do two for my left hand and then three for my switch item which will stay and then four for my sorcery so i can easily change my spells and then activate with the r button so when we get down into the attacks left click stayed the same f is the key that i use for my strong attack because my hands are already on wase so i can just hit f boom i use my strong attack easy clap right click is still guard q since i unbound that from the target key i now use q for my ultimate um or for my skill and so that way it's easy i got q for my ultimate f for my regular skill and then r and e i didn't touch at all so r is just my use item still and e is interact because i pretty much use e or f or interact on every game that i play anyway so those are the settings there um i found that having it like this specifically plus the the combinations and turning off that auto target nonsense it feels so much better uh utilizing keyboard and mouse and this allows me to play the game the way that i want to play it without having to have a controller in my hand because now that i've been playing keyboard and mouse on so many games for so many years like i i just can't go back so if you guys are ha are or have been struggling trying to figure out your keyboard and mouse settings try utilizing these and then making the adjustments where they see fit uh or where you see fit and then making your perfect settings because these for me are money in the bank i can run this all day without having to think twice i feel i feel like i'm playing a game that wasn't designed for the controller so it's kind of nice so anyway guys i just want to take a little bit of time and help you guys out smooth out your life and make your your
