hey guys welcome back to another video all right so today i'm taking a look at the brand new extra aluminum wallet and you might be wondering why it's in this gigantic box i'm about to show you let's check it out [Music] [Music] [Music] so so don't worry your brand new extra wallet won't come in this gigantic box extra just sent over just a handful to certain youtubers and journalists in this promotional case right here so let's open this up and take a look at why it has to come in such a big box so i can tell why they did this here so right here we have the brand new extra aluminum wallet and then we have a traditional chunky bifold here and this thing is super funny so let me take this out and just look at the size of this thing and then when i check out the brand new extra aluminum wallet we can see the size differences even when it's still in the box so let me put this box to the side here and we can start checking out the brand new extra aluminum wallet so it comes in a pretty nice black on black box we have the extra logo right there in very glossy letters and as i pull the wallet out we get our first glimpse at the brand new extra aluminum wallet as i take this wallet out of the box just one last comparison check out the profile here between the extra wallet and this gigantic bifold here now i want to give extra props on this bifold too because there's a lot of cool stuff in here they went all out i mean there's fake hundreds in here there's even some coins in this little coin tray this is pretty cool then we look through here and we have a bunch of cards but this review is not on this chunky bi-fold you guys clicked on this video to see this bad boy right here all right so let me give you guys a nice close-up of the brand new extra aluminum wallet here and while you guys are checking this out let's talk about some of the features all right so the extra aluminum wallet and this back plate here are made of 6061 t6 aluminum and it's available in five different colors there's a green ore a redwood a space gray the one that i'm holding right here a matte black and a midnight blue the main body holds up the six flat cards and on the back we have an expandable back plate that you can store an extra nine cards and holding that back plate on is this elastic band that can also hold bills under it and of course being an extra wallet it has that push button card ejection system and being made of 6061 t6 aluminum it naturally blocks rfid all right so that's enough of the quick features so let's talk specs all right so it measures in at 2.3 inches by 4.1 inches and has a thickness of 0.29 inches and the website doesn't mention how much it weighs so yeah let's weigh it all right so i'm gonna plop it on my scale with the elastic band and back plate on it first it comes in at all right 2.6 ounces and in grams that's going to be 72 grams all right so now let's take off the back plate and the elastic and see what it weighs as just a base here and in grams comes in at 48 grams and wow 1.7 ounces so yeah if you guys want to go super minimal this is the way to go all right so i've always been a fan of extra wallets i think that they do the box style wallet maybe the best in the industry right now i've done a couple reviews on extra wireless and i've never been disappointed especially with this push-button card ejection system in my experience it's always been pretty flawless and so far i'm really liking what they did with this brand new aluminum card holder because if you want to go super minimalistic there's no leather cases or flaps to deal with it's just a single box style card holder and that's it but then they give you the option to actually expand on what you can hold in the actual box itself with this elastic band and back plate you can fit up to six flat cards in this little box here and then up to nine back here in this back plate that expands because just elastic but you don't only have to put cards back here i mean you can put business cards you can even put cash back here but from my test i like to put the cards back here under the back plate and then my cash right here under this elastic in cash clip and i'll show you guys what i'm talking about so let's start stuffing some cards in this thing alright so extra claims it can hold up to six flat cards which i have right here or if you have a mix between flat and embossed cards it'll hold between four and five so right here i have three embossed and two flat alright so let's start with the six flat cards i'm just gonna put them in there all at once and then boom all right so right now i have six flat cards stuffed in the aluminum card holder and to get them out just press this button down here and they should come out pretty evenly and yeah check that out so this is what i mean about extra being the best in the game with this style wallet that patented system that they have in there with this button and the arm that pushes up i mean those cards are spaced out very nicely and then of course to get whatever card out you just fan through them like this pull it out slap it back in and just that easy and putting this single card back in there is just as easy just right to the back and there you go now you might be thinking with this being open like this they'll fall out easy so give this a nice shake test and no nothing at all check that out and that noise you heard was this back plate rattling around like that all right now let's try the embossed and flat cards mix so like i said three flats or sorry three embossed and two flat and okay there we go now let's see how evenly these come out and not as great but still pretty good you can still have access to all your cards here let me try that again so all right that one's a little bit better but those popped out pretty high there we go pretty nice looks like the buttons getting stuck there as i do it so you know what let me just mix these up a little bit let me put a flat card in the middle there put it back in and there we go so you guys know when you have raised number cards those numbers get stuck on each other so when you have a system like this that's probably bound to happen but as you can see when i put that flat card in there they're pretty evenly spaced right now all right and i know some of you guys are gonna ask what if only one card is in there what happens then so i don't know so there's just one card in there let's see if it comes out with the shape test nope still in there just shifted slightly inside but let's see how well it comes out and yeah i mean if you have one card that's it boom so as you can see it works just fine if you only have one or even two cards all right so now let's talk about this expandable back plate they say it can hold up to nine cards so here is six seven eight nine so six flat three embossed so let's get these back here just lift up the bottom and slide those in there as so so you can see what that does to the thickness of the wallet obviously it's gonna make it a lot thicker than just having cards in the box here but they claim nine i think i can get more in there so let's take five more out so here's four more flat in one raised number let's see if i can get those in there and yeah definitely check that out so right now that's 14 let's just make it 15 and yeah 15 cards in the expandable back plate so let's put those six cards back in there so now we have six in the wallet and 15 in the expandable back plate so that's 21 cards i have in this wallet right now so just for the heck of it let me put these last two cards in there that makes 17 in the back plate here and i don't know guys i think i can just keep going but i'm not going to so let's take out these cards and let's just keep i don't know let's just say we want to keep an extra five cards back there so let's put those five cards in there and straighten them up of course i would have my most used cards in the actual body here but say for example you want to have your driver's license here put it right there on the top you can just use that thumb notch and pull it right out and what i really like about this back plate if you look real closely it is indented right there so it's very easy to slide your cards right back in there and if i give you guys a close-up of the side view you can see what i'm talking about right there it's real easy to stick cards back in under this plate but that's just one way to take the cards out by sliding it down here if you have that thumb notch you can just push them all up as so take it out and just use the fan method so you can see that this wallet is extremely versatile you can go extremely minimal with only six cards right here in just the main body or you can load it up with 20 cards with this expandable back plate it's up to you so let's take out those cards and i have one two three four business cards right here and the same deal just slide them right under there the business cards are sticking out just a little bit on the top there but that's okay that's not gonna really mess with anything it just goes to show you you can basically put whatever you want under this backplate all right so what about bills right here i have three bills folded into quarters so just lift up on that cash strap and now we have a pretty nice cash carrying solution right here all right guys let's talk about what i like about the extra aluminum card holder i love the build quality of this wallet when you're talking extra you just know that you're going to get a high quality wallet and the aluminum card holder here is no different the 6061 aluminum feels really really nice and the card ejection button right here feels really sturdy so it doesn't feel like it's gonna break on you after a couple presses i love the fact that these cards come up evenly almost every single time i think this expandable back plate is a great idea just the simple idea gives this wallet such versatility because i can load this up with 20 cards plus bills or if i want to go super minimal that day i can just slip everything right off and now i just have this super minimalistic box style wallet all right now let's talk about what i don't like about the extra aluminum card holder i got to keep it real with you guys for 79 bucks it's a little pricey for what you're getting here don't get me wrong this is an extremely high quality wallet but i think 79 bucks is just over the price point where i would label it at but if you're a fan of extra and aluminum wallets and have the 79 dollars to spend then i feel like this is a really solid choice so would i recommend this wallet i absolutely would even at the 79 dollar price point and even though i think this is slightly more expensive than it should be you're still getting a very very high quality wallet from extra all right guys that's pretty much it for this video what do you guys think of the extra aluminum card holder if you guys want to check it out for yourself i'll leave links below in my description box straight to the extra website and yes extra did give me a special code just for my subscribers i'll have that
