Economy train to BANDUNG | Our FIRST IMPRESSIONS of Bandung | #Vlog 109

we are writing claire in the previous video we sat down for fine dining experience in jakarta with a special guest in today's video we hop on a train headed inland to bandung city we give you our first impressions of old town and we show you around our hotel in braga street enjoy [Music] it's magic i didn't have to do anything okay the gambia train station is equipped with lots of places to eat and to buy snacks for the train ride ahead [Music] so we just got our tickets printed from the machine and now it's time to do the gino's test again there's barely any signs but just always ask questions i'll help you [Music] well [Music] aaron [Music] [Music] the backpackers [Music] [Music] good morning today we woke up very early and we're on the train as you can see and uh we're going to one of the places that you guys have requested a lot we're going to bandung what should we do there let us know in the comments below [Music] so that was fun we're in bandung guys we made it it is a lot cooler not so hot not so humid like it is in jakarta i'm actually wearing a jersey which is really cool but this is a very impressive little train station i must say overall the train ride was very easy very cheap very clean and comfortable it was a very beautiful ride with lots of rice fields and nice scenery out the window can't complain about anything [Music] call me small house [Music] okay guys this is praga street known as the old town in bandung and we are walking to raga per mai for some food but this area is really nice there's colonial buildings all around art galleries and bakeries cafes so first impressions i was very nice and very quaint [Music] send pictures on the restaurants walls reminisce of the paris van java period when bandung laid at the heart of the dutch east indies and was home to a melange of grand hotels restaurants cafes and european boutiques combined these pictures tell the story of mason links of indonesia's rich dutch heritage for those that don't know the history of south africa where we are from we were also colonized by the dutch and many many years later the language of afrikaans formed in south africa and it's very similar to what i'm reading now on this menu it's super interesting for us as south africans reading this because we're so used to it in our home country but it says that journey with us in time as you dine in the paris fun job i want to say paris van gaal paris of java treat yourself to our original authentic recipes such as buddhist stuff ananas khabak and almonds vegilars as well as range of other dishes and desserts from around the world in the restaurant's colonial charm which pays homage to its indonesian and dutch roots braga from my historic restaurant this is just up my alley i love history i love to do these kinds of things this is great and this is cool because there's a branch in bandung and there's a branch in bali denpasar now this is a classic original americano with a strip waffle on top this is a beef rendang with scrambled eggs with some of these crackers this is a chicken breast stuff with avocado and smoked beef covered in cheese and with a salad and yam puree which we call sweet potato and then i think this is butter whoa yum beef bread hopefully i'm saying it right this is very yummy for 55 000 series chicken is 85 000. yummy i'm lavish red is local this is like kind of dutch i guess european style i wouldn't say dutch and reds is indonesian food the europeans are very much about butter and cheese so that's why i think this is european and local is lacquer [Music] so we just finished here at braga pamay the food was incredible a little bit expensive but an awesome experience and so cool to see the dutch influence here in bandung thank you so much for the recommendations in all the comments keep them coming we love them so much 10 18 10 out of 10. [Music] so this is the view guys not the best but it's okay fourth floor of the bragger hotel room is really nice got a nice big bed and a working station for editing and a tv and the bathroom and a really fancy coffee maker we are paying around about 320 000 repair for this room per night for us too and like i said earlier this is old town it looks like a good location close to all the museums and nice cafes and restaurants so looking forward to exploring more of bandung tomorrow so first impressions of bandung well because we're in this downtown this old town area there's a lot of colonial buildings which is really awesome to see it seems like such a vibey area that we're in so pretty happy that we chose to be here bundong has lots to offer it's got the mountains it's got the forest and the volcanoes and stuff so we're gonna explore all of that so make sure to subscribe because we will have quite a few bandung videos live on the channel in the coming weeks or in the coming [Music] days okay time to see the pricing on this menu we're going to be ordering from the room service tonight so the menu is looking pretty affordable i like to look at the price of the nasi goreng just to get a good idea and it's around 40 000 rupiah at this hotel compared to 110 000 at ibis styles during quarantine so much much better we can at least afford that i forgot to do a speed test for those interested it's not super fast but what's nice is that it's stable and that's good so the speed is around about a 10 meg on average and it's been pretty good so far i have no problem [Music] dinner has arrived and it looks great claire is working very hard i told her it's time to eat but she's still replying to your comments she's very dedicated thumbs up for claire yeah um soto bandung some beef and radish oh yeah radish yeah radish with i think mung beans and tomato in a broth it's so good this is the chicken grilled chicken with a salad and some nice avocado and some bread and then the nasi goreng and some extra rice yummy all of this food was 160 000 rupiah not bad so overall dinner was wonderful just want to summarize the hotel is great it is very comfortable and very clean most importantly it's nice and quiet and the food was really good i can give it a good eight to nine out of ten it's definitely better than ibis styles in jakarta and the pricing obviously is wonderful stay tuned for the next video where we explore the old town and braga street and we give you our first impressions of bandung bye you
