Eating BRUNCH at a Japanese Market | Kanazawa Street Food

stop rubbing this I don't want the people to know how greedy I really am enough of this [Music] [Music] good morning guys welcome to the beautiful historic city of Kanazawa we're joined today by the beautiful historic face of Sharla it's in hi so we've got six or seven hours in this incredible city and we wanted to go around check out the streets today and then the heavens opened and so instead we've come to all mitchell market it's a huge sprawling market it's completely roofed over as well so we can spend like all day in here I'm starving hearty breakfast of five or six courses a full course meal with a marker let's do it [Music] it's a fisheye here doesn't doesn't look particularly ugly at what point with some anything that's the acceptable dish or thing to eat my grandfather loves them he puts them in soup it's like his favorite part of the series Oh old people like to eat ice my grandpa would be the saw that to night retire what's the nutritional value of it's too early in the morning to see that kind of thing but should fish eyes other than the terrifying fish eye the fish is packed meticulously usually when you go to a fish market in Japan there's a sense of chaos there's fish sprawling everywhere there's water but everywhere all over the floor here everything's been beautifully curated it feels it feels like quite an upmarket fish market but market fish market it wasn't intentional so at this giant fish market the first thing we got today is free yeah this is leaves the most expensive it's feels it feels like it's artificial embrace the waist but the skin is so thick and rubbery [Applause] so worth the dollar yeah wow it's like a hand grenade of juice and flavor ridiculously bloody expensive but given the size I mean that's twice the size of a normal grape really and thrice is delicious it doesn't easily get great you're right tastes like cotton candy there's grapes that are like marketed to taste like cotton candy really I bet it to that what universe in America they have soy milk ice cream Wow oh boy and it's made from soy and rice comes in both cones or cups as well oh my god right poor sucker let's let the camera smell so despite being in a fish market we've eaten everything but fish so far today there's free now sake and ice cream this is June my organic sake from Kanazawa City and it's actually there's just randomly on the top of the ice cream store it's been a preview breakfast so far tonight complete taste of luxury at 11:00 a.m. you could summarize this delicious ice cream in one word what would that word be um Jesus Jesus [Music] that smells amazing and if you don't want to eat one before company so this is an ugly eel on a skewer it's been source coming off a bit mmm sticky sauce it's not barbecue sauce it's kind of a sweet soy sauce and it's going everywhere I'll bet either for the longest time I never liked ill because in the UK we have jellied eels and jellied eels basically look and taste like awful or as in Japan ill is beautiful it's one the most delicious fish you can actually have and this is on a skewer so it must be good nine out of ten good-bye again probably will bar again about one minute [Music] next course beef sushi this is a not Bobby food which is a it's not a beef not or is I realize they could under miss this this presents not door it's the local beef the good thing about this is why do Japanese beef costs a lot of money right you've got to basically destroy your bank account to try Japanese beef but when you have it on sushi its small enough that destroyed its small enough that it doesn't cost a fortune this is a 700 yen for two pieces of beef or you can get a skewer of not dobby not beef for just under a thousand yen ridiculous name not to be through bloody hell let's give this some wasabi tucked under the beef wasabi goes so well with Japanese Wagyu oh oh come to the market try the not to be true because it is been it's rather good briefing date [Music] all right let's see how good shelter is poor in bed you've never pulled a big one can they drink it out of the bottle thanks done yeah a whole new career pouring beverages sour beer it's very fruity very malty yeah very tasty so with this little grilled fish shop and I got some supper which is mackeral mackeral and look at the thickness of that sauce that's the sweet sticky soy sauce Mac was thrown meaty food is so good like this might be the best market I've been to be all of Japan's so good okay no but everybody raves about but the quality of the food I'm just impressed by how well presented all the food is market come here eat the ice cream drink the soccer absorb the fish but no let's don't absorb the best just enjoy the fish I've drunk too much sake bye baby [Music] [Music] so we've had 5/6 courses of food here and we've wrapped it up with wrapping it up with this watching machi cake give me a huggie no this is rice it's been beaten and pounded down into a kind of cake inside of this one I've got red bean paste so I've had a lot of fun in this market so this might be one of the best markets I've been to an ultra power genuinely like we spent two hours at least being lost in here walking around trying the food eating random things all the shopkeepers are safe friendly a nice offering the one woman that for angry for us filming some bizarrely pushed our right away I could describe this market in one phrase that phrase would be a labyrinth of excellence right not sure it's really good description it's the best description has ever been of a market but if you ever in Canada or this market should be pretty high in your list it's a shame we didn't get to see more than weather has been absolutely horrendous just like the last flood of mankind outside only is it one of the best markets I've been to in Japan but it is neither notorious it's the best market I've been to in Japan it's really fun places to chill out try lots of different dishes for a reasonable price as well I mean we have Mikey beef for 700 yen we've had sake which costs $2 next than that I could spin them but not a whole lot of money we've had a pretty good 5 to 6 course meal today best market in Japan maybe learning Japanese I stayed just having dreams you know where Japanese features weren't the most exciting conversation yes things like me going to McDonald's in my dreams and making it rather like Big Mac cassette opposite Dada feels like some crazy shits about to go down oh my god there's a fighter jet [Music]
