hi guys it's me Clio from Cleo's creations and more today we are going to make a simple delicious recipe for masa for tamales super simple super delicious you guys are going to enjoy this masa we have here masa for tamales which is Maseca you can use whatever masa you you you prefer but I like to use this instant Maseca for tamales we're gonna use some lard you're gonna use Manteca pork lard whatever kind of lard you desire my secret super easy super simple you don't have to boil Nulty less no nothing we're gonna use chili powder dice chili powder is the same thing as the moledo the one you cook and have to blend and you know all that good stuff so this is the easy version guys we're also gonna use here's another secret we're gonna use North chicken flavored bouillon which is gone so Marion North we're gonna use chicken flavor because here is another ingredient secret ingredient to make your monster taste delicious guys we are going to use some some of the chicken broth that we have from from the boil that we've been cooking for our for tamales which is gonna be our filling and we're gonna add a little bit of salt to taste and of course I like using Himalayan salt you can use regular salt so these are the ingredients these are the only ingredients we will be using for this muscle stay tuned now let's get started guys first of all we're gonna we're gonna use our large are month a cup we're gonna grab some and we are going to add it in our poll you can also use your your pen mixture your KitchenAid you can use it by hand whatever you want I just follow look at me I'm just using one I'll need you guys the the ingredients in the description box I'll get you guys the whole ingredients but check it out I'm going to use two that's my second and let's see we have enough we do I wasn't taught to measure I was just you know eyeball it like us Mexicans do it till our ancestors tell us that it's good so I have like this much of Manteca and if you guys can see the Manteca still looks a little bit yellowish whitish but we're gonna cream this so that our tamales can talk about real salt so what I'm gonna do is I'm going to get my blender and I'm gonna blend it for a little bit [Applause] just till we get get it cream and white it's gonna look like frosting [Applause] as you can see it's studying again white it looks like softy this is what we want where to look like a consistency of frosting as you can see it's fluffy this is what's gonna make our tamales nice and soft and fluffy okay look at the difference before and after so this is the technique that we should be using for our tamales now what we're gonna do is once we have that ready we set it aside we're gonna get our chicken broth and in here guys since this is warm as you guys I don't know if you can see the steam still coming out we're gonna add about a handful which is probably like two tablespoons of salt into our water so it can dissolve we are also gonna add in here our Knorr chicken bouillon same amount this is gonna give it the flavor guys it's gonna give it that good flavor in there and we are also gonna thought up ethos that I'm on top so it can get that nice color we're gonna add our chili powder in here we're gonna add that was probably like two teaspoons and we're going to add another teaspoon in there about another teaspoon like so and then we're going to give it a little mix we're going to grab we're going to grab our masa and we're going to pour it into into our already beaten you know and what we're gonna start doing first is we're going to mix it up really good guys really good so let me start mixing up the masa with our Manteca okay once we have it really mixed we forgot to mention this we're gonna add some baking powder and like always I'm going to use this is one two and three tablespoons of baking powder we're going to mix it in as well I mix it in really really good in there we get all our massa and our Monica are large in they're mixed very well and now what we're going to start doing is we're going to start adding our chicken broth that we mixed all of our other ingredients in there so let's get in there and start adding little by little make sure your your chicken broth is is the warm not too hot so you won't burn your fingers but make sure it's warm so that you can evaporate we're going to keep on adding our water and we're going to keep on the commas on them let me add more water into it some of our broth or water and we're going to fun mixing it up get all the way down in there I estimate that it's one cup of Lordan to two to each I think this is this bug is four pounds so it would be like four maybe probably three maybe four if you wanna more more um Morrison I guess like more um Monty cozy toast and I'm gonna continue knitting this till I get my cousin consistency and we'll be right back once our masa is very well incorporated we need alum asadullah you know dough it in make mix it in really really good for like a couple of minutes a good ten minutes maybe five ten minutes once you see your hands are no longer sticking the the dough is not sticking to your hands that's a good indication that your masa is ready to check on the taste you you you know get a little bit taste it taste it if it doesn't eat salt if it doesn't need you know another ingredient it tastes good to me now and here's a test to see if you have enough Lord so that your tamales can come out nice and and and fluffy and that they come out our dough is manageable its soft as you can see and this is what we like to test what my mom used to show me that when your masa has enough Lord maanteeeca you put it behind your hand and you if you can see the shiny how my the top of my hand got shiny it indicates that it has enough lard
