hey folks philly boy jay back here with another video and today i'm going to be showing you guys how to make jumbo 5 shrimp here i have a big bag of shrimp what you're going to do is you're going to get a big bowl and you're going to place the bag of shrimp into the bowl i like to clean my shrimp before i cook it just to remove any residue that was left on the shrimp you want to fill the bowl with water and you're going to add about one tablespoon of salt and you're going to allow your shrimp to sit in this salt water solution for about a good half an hour just to make sure that it's clean you're gonna get a bowl into the bowl you're going to add some bread crumbs you're only going to need about a half a cup of bread crumbs that should do the job that should be enough so add about a half a cup of bread crumbs to the bowl next month i'll be showing you guys how to make fried shrimp using panko bread crumbs but today we're just using regular bread crumbs you're going to get another bowl into that bowl we're going to create our egg wash and you're going to add two eggs to this bowl add two eggs to the bowl and you're gonna give that a stir beat the eggs up batter them up and then what we're going to add to the batter eggs is some milk so add about 1 4 cup of milk that should be enough and then you're going to give that a stir okay now what we're going to do is we're going to be dipping the shrimp into this flour here um that's 3 4 cups of flour and we're going to dip it into the egg wash and then we're going to dip it into the bread crumbs the bread crumbs is going to be the final coating but we want to season this flour first so you're going to season it with about a tablespoon of black pepper and about two tablespoons of seasoning salt okay and then we're going to blend the seasoning into the flour this is what's going to give our shrimp some taste all right so here we have our shrimp they've been soaking for a little while now we're going to rinse that water off we're going to get ready to coat these bad boys all right rinse them off really really well and there they go looking nice and fresh and clean so fresh and so clean clean so fresh and so clean clean look at them they're great now but when you cook them they're going to turn orange all right that's actually how you know the shrimp are done so we're going to coat our shrimp first in a seasoned flour culture shrimp and the seasoned flour and like i said the season and the flour is what's going to give the shrimp taste if you don't add any seasoning is not going to taste like anything okay so what we're going to do is we're going to coat all of our shrimp in the flour and make sure that it's well coated okay the way you see there and then what you're going to do is you're going to shake off the access flower and you're going to dip it into your egg milk mixture your egg wash okay then you're going to allow the acid egg wash to drain and then you're going to coat it in breadcrumbs which is going to be your final coating make sure it's well coated okay then you're going to shake off the access bread crumbs and then what we're going to do is we're going to sit the shrimp aside okay and that's pretty much it that's the way it should look like that right there see how it look that's the way it should look right there then you're gonna set it aside so let's take you through the step one more time you're gonna get your coated shrimp after you coat it with flour you're going to dip it into the egg wash drain that excess egg off of the shrimp and then you're going to dip it into the bread crumbs and then shake off the ass as breadcrumbs and then you're going to set it aside now you want to allow the shrimp to sit in the coating for at least 10 minutes just to make sure that it's well coated so that once you place them into the frying pan the coating don't come off okay i told you guys that when i made my fried chicken and fried pork chops whenever you coat any type of meat you want to allow it to sit in a coating for a while just to ensure that the coating sticks to the meat you're going to get a frying pan you're going to place it over medium heat and you're gonna add about a half a cup of oil and you're gonna let it get hot for about five minutes and then after five minutes you're going to add your shrimp you only want to cook about six shrimp at a time okay don't add any more than six shrimp to the frying pan at a time unless you have a really really really big deep frying pan all right you want to make sure that you give them space you don't want to clutter them that's last thing you want to do is clutter them okay and then once the tail turns orange that's when you know they done and once it's like this nice golden brown look at that you're going to get a plate and a paper towel and you're going to place the shrimp onto the paper towel and allow the oil to drain you want to drain the oil okay but look at those look at those shrimp like i said next month i'm going to be showing you guys how to make shrimp made with panko bread crumbs that's a better look has more professional look as well okay so we're gonna do is we're gonna add another batch of shrimp what i do is i usually add six shrimps per batch no more than about six okay when they're cluttered together too closely it takes them longer to fry and you don't want to stick together so just make sure that you add six shrimp per batch and make sure they're separated all right so that they fry correctly but look at those shrimp when they get nice and golden brown like that and you see that the tail was orange that means those bad boys are done look at them and that's our last batch right there it's our last batch of shrimp this shrimp came out absolutely delicious filly boy j makes some really really really really really good shrimp and sometime i add more seasonings like onion powder and a little bit of garlic powder you can add whatever seasoning you want you like your shrimp to be on the hotter side you can even go ahead and add like a little bit of cayenne pepper okay but i like to eat my shrimp with sriracha sauce so that's why i don't put any cayenne pepper in it because sriracha everybody know that's really really hot okay but that's our shrimp look at them nice and golden brown and crispy look at them i'm just going to let them sit on the paper towel to drain the oil okay some good old shrimp some good old shrimp good old-fashioned fried jumbo shrimp all right folks so that's the way i plated them they look really really nice we're going to put the sriracha sauce in the middle and i'm going to eat these bad boys and i'm going to get back with you guys later i hope you guys try this recipe out i hope you like it philly boy j make the best shrimp i said the best shrimp in the whole wide world don't nobody meet jumbo fries shrimp like philly boy jay nobody don't nobody do it quite like him hope you guys enjoyed the recipe look at that white shrimp look at that meat and if you find that the sriracha is too hot add some ketchup to it that'll balance it out give it a little bit of sweetness so it won't be so hot for those of you out there who can't handle spicy food philly boy jay peace you
