[Music] hey hey what is up youtube we are back with a very highly requested drummer now i've gone into this one on purpose trying to know as little as possible and i'm going to attempt this name aki fadlan is that even close uh no offense intended i believe this drummer is indonesian and i await to be correct on the pronouncing pronunciation i can't even say the word pronunciation on the pronounce see is it on how to pronounce this uh player's name boy this one has been requested so so many times um well this drummer has been requested so many times i just went along to his youtube channel and i found the video that i think i think this was the most highly viewed one so we're gonna run with that i know nothing about this player so i'm going to completely cold let's check it out [Music] damn [Music] [Music] just keep an eye on this uh left hand technique here very very classy this is already good you know what okay okay you are the man i'm gonna subscribe to you man and i like this video this is super awesome guys as always original video link in the description of my video i will be stopping this throughout to try and make sense of the incredible drumming that i think just changing gears within that ambidextrous changing hands but listen to the changing gears and subdivisions here as well damn and the whole time just like like whatever that's this is one thing these guys in these more extreme genres that i'm not living in that i'm not overly familiar with especially not before doing these kind of videos the amount of headroom these guys have got within this kind of facility is amazing i can tell this guy is well within his facility range because i can see i can read his body language you know the jaw you know it's completely relaxed shoulders down he's just he's he's at home you know he's he's having fun he's not overly stressed or getting pushed here i think at all i'm gonna back it up just um yeah this is super incredible [Music] open [Music] [Music] watch the fingers on the right hand here just keep an eye on those fingers [Music] wow [Music] very controlled you know volume wise just very controlled going for accuracy more than anything [Music] back to business [Music] triplets hey come on now if you're not blasting on triplets are you really blasting don't be lazy you should be blasting triplets as well says he who cannot blast [Music] what is okay if i could talk to aki or if he does watch this video one question i would have for him is uh what is the musical reason for the for the switch between open or crossed over uh i might have i might have missed something but is it just um is it to give your hands a rest i mean i guess they're playing at the same rate and notes i don't know i'm sure there is a good reason for it i'm just there'll be one really naive simple question someone like me who cannot play this kind of drumming uh would ask this type of drummer aki if you are watching this did you watch the jojo mayor hands dvd by any chance because we've got some pretty special hand technique going on here and jojo may have broke down a lot of these things and the what was it secret weapons for the modern drama i believe that dvd was called it's a good one it's a very in-depth one but yeah i mean i really do want to get an extreme player on my podcast sooner rather than later just to question them on practice things you know how much of your day or how much of your practice schedule is dedicated to maintenance and pushing these speed barriers because yes it's just quite quite amazing it's a very specific muscle memory and skill and um yeah awesome let's keep it going [Music] so relaxed [Music] oh [Music] there we go [Music] nice pocket too [Music] oh yeah yes yes i it is long overdue i need to get one of these more extreme players on my podcast and you know make it a youtube video interview as well just so many different questions i've got now and now that i'm just my mind is opened up and expanded and has accepted this kind of music and this kind of drumming i i i'm not saying you know this is a disney video but it's a whole new world ain't nobody got time for that oh boy if you're still watching after that dad joke um well done yeah but it's just really interesting to me i mean i went to jazz school so i'm familiar with practicing for extended periods hours and hours and hours and days and years in the practice room you know just smashing stuff day after day now these kind of drummers they're just working on different things i mean they're still obviously working on drumming it's just a different vocab and uh yeah it's i need to get one of these guys on and we need to talk about this because um i'm just finding this really really fascinating now i'm finding it interesting i am getting into the mindset of this more extreme style of fan not to mention drama but the you know that intensity yes it's like coffee you know you sort of your tolerance just goes up after over time and you kind of need better stuff or more pure coffee as you keep going and it's probably like that for the fans you know you're searching for something really pure and something that obviously hits your hair and that sort of put keeps it just keeps pushing those boundaries a bit a bit more and more and you know what might have seemed fast perhaps 20 25 years ago is no longer fast because the limits just keep getting pushed it's like the olympics of drummond you know at the olympics the the world record gets broken you know every olympics now it's kind of like that i'm really ranting now because i've had a lot of coffee but hopefully you know what i mean that was awesome uh super super great drama i'm really glad to finally get to them and i know that so many of you have been
