but for a brief period of time the internet broke at least for slipnot fans for drum fans around the world because slipnot played a gig first gig since parting ways with Jay Weinberg now this clip has been sent to me by many of you subscribers and also friends I have delayed watching it so I am going to watch it right now let's check it out it's slip not doing disaster piece live at Pepe and high hats [Applause] here Beyond type Beyond type [Music] [Music] man my don't kill me don't kill me [Music] only [Applause] [Music] I was holding my breath for big chunk of that and there was also a big chunk of that where I had Goose fimbles goose fles I think as the Americans like to call it ha standing up um I can't wipe the smile off my face cuz that's what you want on music you want an emotional uh and physical reaction to what you're hearing that sounded like a million dollars now clearly this has been filmed by someone who's who's in the pit here boy boy so there's a lot of speculation now by the time this video actually comes out and I get to edit it and release it for you guys maybe it's going to have been announced by then I still don't think at this point it's the 29th today um 4 days after the performance I still don't think it's been confirmed that who the drummer is there's a lot of speculation that it's the homie it's the it's the man himself Eloy kasag Grande who by the way I featured videos of him if you if you are a late Comer to Eloy casig Grande let's just take a sidebar for a second there is a video of him age 14 uh just sitting a drum kit on fire check it out I did a video on on this Channel um as well as later on when he became this big buffed man who's playing this heavy hidden um midle midle with chops style but that that younger video of him was like left foot clav and and absolutely insane Independence and a lot of other things now what we're seen here just in this one song is all of that facility all of that musicality and experience being accessed the feed the fast feels so crisp and just stopping on a dime into the next section dropping into like in a really intense double kick part with just metronomic Precision um that trademark of Eloy crossing over left there was a point where he played a bit open it's another thing that someone of the facility of Elo kasag Grande would do guys now people have sent this link through to me a friend a good friend uh sent this through as well I didn't expect it to be oh if it's ELO C don't you're going to expect it to be good drumming I didn't expect it to be this tight and this perfect now you've got to really be careful uh you know well it's it's qu kind of difficult not to compare drummers in a way like you know you're going to say oh you know everyone's going to have their favorite Joey Jay and then new Drummer or let's call them drummer X for now now just to be safe um but how can I put this I never want to get into comparing drummers but listen some drummers are going to sound better on a certain gig than other drummers how dare you that's not to say one drum is better than the other uh especially at this level where we've got terrific world class dramas but it's just this feels like I'll just leave it at this this feels right this sounds right this feels it looks right I mean you've got this animalistic ferocious savagery on the drums savagery that's the word that my friend use we s it to me check out the savagery with a respect for the music not saying the other drers don't respect the music but you've just got everything working here this is just phenomenal absolutely phenomenal I would love to hear your feedback uh all you slipnot fans out there or your drum fans out there do you think this is Eloy CAG Grande if not who else and then what do you think of this again this has been captured I'm assuming I don't know if this is on a phone I did see a more serious camera floating around on the pit as well maybe it's a I'm not sure I'm not sure image was very clear and um and nice the audio was decent definitely decent I mean probably a bit better than what I expect at a very loud gig you know being that close to the band in the front of house the audio was good I mean it obviously wasn't like a you know an eight high quality um live recording it was just raw put it we'll leave it to that raw but let me know what you think I mean does this get you excited that's what she said are you reinvigorated that's what she said I'm sure they I don't know maybe they've already announced tour dates I'm sure they're going to announce tour dates and it feels like the show's back on the road that's what she said in terms of slipnot that was 11 out of 10 on the spinal tap scale amazing does that mean it's louder is it any louder well it's one
