[music playing] You know, for
millions of years, God thought of each one of us. He had an original
intention and original plan. There is this place
inside of Him as a Father, and as an artist, that He
was the master creator. He first revealed His identity
as a creator in the Bible. And each creator, if
you're a master artist, you think of what you're
working on for so much time, like 10 years, 15 years before
you create a masterpiece. Today, we're going to talk
about the mystery of love, and the mystery of love
when it comes to God and loving ourselves and
loving others around us. As a matter of
fact, we can start seeing the world around us
the way He really wanted us to see it in the first place. When Jesus came
to this world, He came to correct every
injustice or violation of love. So right now, join me as we
talk about the mystery of love. [music playing] NARRATOR: This is
Dreams & Mysteries. When we look at the example
of the mystery of God's love, we see Jesus. And Jesus had this
connection with the world. He had a connection that was
above and beyond what anybody had ever had before,
where He could see the Father's original
heartbeat for humanity around Him. And He spent time
with people that would be considered
even illegal at times, like the Samaritan
woman in John 4. He goes up to her and
asks for a drink of water. And they get into this
amazing discussion where as He talks
to her, He reveals to her some of the facts
and details of her life that she was shocked
that He would know. Now, there's two things
about this that strike me. Number one is He
saw a value in her, even though she
was a woman who had several husbands, several men. She was even living with a
man who wasn't her husband. And she was a
Samaritan woman, who was illegal to spend
time with, and yet He spent time with her anyways. And He valued her with His
time, and He looked at her in such a way, even though
He told her critical things about herself, He did it in such a way that
was like this love operation where she felt so connected,
that when she went back to her town, she told everybody,
come and meet the man who knows everything about me. And she said it in
the context of love, not in the context of judgment
or intensity. which is just so amazing
that Jesus was this way. Colossians 1:15 says that
when we look to Jesus, we see God's original intended
form in everything He created. So there's something really
special about Jesus, obviously. There is something
special about how He saw and how He treated the
world around Him that is an example to us
of how we can be. Jesus looked at
people around Him and said my Father's building
houses in heaven for you. God had preplanned
even houses in heaven for them , if they so chose to be with Him. So, there's this
culture in our heart. The mystery of God's love has
to start with our heart first. The mystery of His love
is this place inside of us that begins to connect to
God's original intended purpose and plan on the earth. When Adam and Eve
left the garden, God had a plan of restoration
that we saw manifest in Jesus. And it wasn't just a
plan of restoration to have His kingdom dominion. It was a restoration that Jesus
fell in love with humanity and started to call us back to
this "aha" moment of the John 10:10, living a life
that's truly full. Living a life that's truly
God's original purpose for us. And He treated disciples
who had no qualifications as if they were
completely worthy to build His whole church on. So He saw something
in them that was rare. He saw something
that nobody else saw. And He treated them
with a certain virtue and a certain belief system
that caused Him to rise up from these normal
human beings that were less educated than
everybody else around them. And they rise up to be
some of the greatest leaders in history. This is how Jesus was. And this is how
we're supposed to be, it's to see the gold
inside of people, but it's not just
like a soccer coach who helps maybe the kids on
the field just score goals. We're actually
supposed to see, "who is this person in God's heart?" The God who thought of them
from the beginning of time, who thought of their
birth date, who thought of who they would marry,
who thought of their career they would choose, who thought
of their eternity with them. How does God see
them and how would He treat them right now
if He was on the earth? So, before the
prophetic is even gifts, it's actually the way we treat
people and choose to see them in God's eternal light. So, I was in Honolulu, and
I was doing a convention. And I was staying in a
condo that one of the people owned at the
convention that they said you need to stay in this
condo instead of a hotel. The only problem
was it was right next to the red-light
district in Honolulu. And I was walking every night. At 10:00 PM, I would go
get a Subway sandwich. And as I was walking
one of the nights, a young man stopped me and
said, "Hey, brah, do you need anything?" And he was saying
like, do I need drugs or prostitution
or anything. And I said, no, I'm good. I'm getting a sandwich. And he said, are you sure? Do you need some drugs? And I said, no. Do you need a girl? And he pointed at a girl
that was over on the steps, and she was with two
other teenage boys. She was 16 at the time. And I said, no, you know,
I don't need a girl, but I'm going to talk to her. So, I went over to
her, and I said, hey, can we do something--
this is going to sound crazy, but I'm a Christian. I believe that God had a
designed purpose for you. Do you know what
your calling is? Do you who you are? She said, "no." And I said, what do
you want to do in life? She goes, "I don't know." I said, OK, borrow my
faith for a minute. And we're going to pray. I'm going to ask God
question, and He's going to answer you, OK? So, we close our eyes. And it was kind of--
made her nervous to close her eyes on the street. And I said, hey, God,
what did you create me for when you thought of
me for millions of years before I was ever even born? And she goes, [gasp] and she
heard something right away. She heard something
in her heart. And she heard, "You're
supposed to be a cook", which I thought was
cute instead of a chef, because she didn't know
the terminology for it. I said, you love cooking? And she goes, I think so. And I said, this is amazing. This is so awesome, like you
know one of the things that will make you thrive in life. Let's ask Him for a step. So I said, OK, God, what's a
step I can take in the next two weeks towards this? And she, again [gasp]. And her friends go, what? What? And they were
excited now with her. And she said, I'm
supposed to call my uncle. My mom and my uncle
have been estranged. And ever since I've
run away from home, I haven't been in contact
with any of my family. And so if I call my uncle,
I know he'll take me in. And he owns a diner, and
I think he'll hire me. I said, this is totally awesome. This is God. He loves you. He's giving you a plan out
from where you're at right now, because He cares
as much about you. Do you promise to call him? She said yes. So, I give her my phone number. I said, call me
after you've called your uncle, whenever
that is this week. So, she calls him the next day. She talks to him. He's a radical believer
who loves Jesus. And the reason why
he was estranged in the relationship
from her mom was because her mom
hated Christianity and hated religion. And so, they had a falling out. So, she goes and lives
with her uncle and aunt. And she starts to
work at his diner. She calls me eight or nine
months later, and she says, you'll never believe it. I'm like, what happened? And she said, my uncle wants
to open a diner with me and give me partial
ownership, like 50% ownership. And she was about to
graduate high school, which she had entered back into. And I said, are you going to
go to school for business? She said no, not at all. I'm going to do it right now. So, not only did God
lead her off the streets into her destiny, into
faith, but He also led her into a calling path. Because all of us, even
if we've been delineated from what we're called to,
God can't wait to give us back our inheritance. He can't wait to speak
something to us about His love and what we were made
for in the first place. When we learn how
to hear His voice for people, even before it's
a prophetic word for them-- I mean, she heard
God for herself. He wants to teach us how to
see people and their value. This was a little girl who
would have ended up being a prostitute on the streets. And God took her
a different route. [music playing] NARRATOR 2: Dreams

talking about here is that Jesus came so that
we could live the truly abundant life that
the Father had dreamed of in the first place. And we've all read John 3:16. It's one of the most quoted
scriptures in the history. But John 3:17, it
says, "God didn't go to all the trouble of
sending His Son merely to point an accusing
finger telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put
the world right again." Now, think of that
in this context-- in your life. There's things in your
life that maybe you aren't living with
your true self yet, your true
identity in who God is. Maybe you haven't seen
yourself after God's own heart. God sent Jesus to bridge you
back to His original plan and purpose. I've had people often
tell me like, I just feel like I'm too far away from-- or I don't have enough
time, or I feel older, or I feel passed by, or any
of these kinds of sentiments. Is there a way for
God to restore me back to His original
plan and purpose? Here's reality. It only took Jesus
3 and 1/2 years to do everything
He was called to. If you have 3 and 1/2 years
left, you've got enough time. And almost everybody
who's watching, you know that this is you. There's this place
in God's heart where when you get in touch with
His affections and His love, you start to find yourself
back in the place of the grace to change, the grace to
become what He wanted you to be in the first place. Christianity is
the only religion that you could be a
drug addict and have a completely
fulfilled life in God after you've had a conversion. I've met businessmen who had
a completely crazy history. And all of a sudden, they
have this turnaround. And God just shows Himself
off through their lives. 1 Corinthians 1 is one
of my favorite scriptures because it's your
qualifying scripture. It actually says that
God didn't choose you because you are the most
excellent or the greatest or of noble birth. He chose the weakest
things of this world so that He can shame the strong
by exalting you-- raising you up. It's the Matthew 5
scripture principle that He wants to put you in
the highest place, the highest hill you can shine from. And it doesn't matter
where you're at today. Jesus was talking to
a group of ruffians. He was talking to people who
weren't qualified at all. And that's what made Him
look good as they grew in the love of God, and
God had intended them to be in the first place, and as
He treated them as if they were of the Father's original plan. That's the mystery
of God's love. They became exactly what
they were supposed to be. This is how we have
to be as Christians. We have to treat
each other according to that great mystery of love
that's in the Father's heart. We have to treat each other
like we're worthy of Jesus, as we're worthy of everything He
paid a price for on the cross. And when we treat
each other this way, it becomes prophetic
because we treat each other in an upgraded form. We start to see each other
at the end of the race with the trophy in the hand. We start to act like
you're way more qualified than you are for something. And you know what? That gap between you
being able to do it and where you're at today and
where you're at tomorrow-- that gap is the faith gap. And as we treat each other
like we're worthy of it and we're worth it,
we're going to make Jesus look so
good, because we're going to show off that God is
real and His love is awesome. [music playing] In my dream, my dog
came up to me and jumped in my lap, and
he seemed really scared. But, I didn't know what
to do for him, so I just held him. God loves relationships. In a dream like this, a friendly dog often
refers to a friend. A close friend. So in this dream,
God is equipping me to know how to handle
a situation that's going to be happening
with a friend of mine. They will soon be going
through a difficult time and I'm not going to know
how to directly help, but that's okay. God is showing me that
it's not my role to fix the situation,
but to stay in relationship and bring comfort as
they go through this difficult time. [music playing] NARRATOR 2: Decades

love is so amazing because once you start to understand that
God has this incredible plan for you, this incredible purpose
of connecting to-- and it's not just for here, but
for all eternity-- you start to become
something inside. You start to see yourself
after a different light or see yourself in
a different way. Through reading the
Bible and through prayer and communing with God this way,
you started to get revelation-- revelation about who God is,
revelation about who you are. And you're not limited anymore
to what the world around you tells you you're limited to. You start to become
something different. And when you treat the
world around you this way, they start to become
something different. They start to actually change
with the value of your love, just as we change with
the value of God's love. There's this place inside all
of us that we were made for, where Jesus was given
this inheritance, and the inheritance
was humanity. And the Father
gave Him a destiny. He has a destiny, a
calling, and a purpose, and it was for us, and that
we are the joy set before Him. And when we understand
that, we start to look at humanity
around us differently because it is God's very
desire to restore all humanity to Himself. And with this
incredible opportunity to be restored to full value,
to be restored to full purpose, to be restored to full
understanding-- and identity is such a huge thing, as we
develop a relationship with God and revelation about
that relationship, we get our identity set. And when we have
our identity set, you just-- you
can't fake identity. You can't make it happen. When you don't have identity,
you have insecurity of purpose. You have insecurity of calling. You have this place where
you feel deformed inside. You feel like you're
delineating from your true self. But when you have your
identity, you know who you are, something happens
inside of you where you feel like you're living in
the original intention of God. You feel like you're living the
most connected version of life. You're connected
to yourself, you're connection to the
world around you, and you're connected to God. This is how He's made you. This is the mystery
of his love, is to be the most connected
version of yourself possible. As we read the Bible
one of Paul's prayers was Ephesians 1:17,
and he prays that we would have eyes to
see Jesus, and have revelation and understanding
about who Jesus really is. Because when we see Jesus,
we start to see ourselves. We start to see
ourselves as co-heirs. We start to see ourselves
as sons and daughters. We start to see what the
Father is really like. 1 John 2:20 says, you don't
need any man to teach you, but you have an anointing that
will teach you all things. This is in context of
John 16, where Jesus says the Friend is going to come. I love how he calls
the Holy Spirit Friend. The Friend will come,
and He'll teach you, and He'll tell you the things
that are in the Father's heart. Why did we need the Holy
Spirit to come and tell us these things? Because He coaches us. He's the best life coach. He's the best counselor. He's the best connector to the
very truth of God inside of us. And as we grow in
the mystery of love, we start to grow in
this relationship to the Holy Spirit that
connects us to the very thoughts and intentions that are in
God's heart for us right now. We can live out of
those intentions. We're not separate
from those intentions. We're not separate
from those thoughts. They actually live within
us as we have a life in God. And whatever feels like
it's delineated, whatever feels like it's missing, the
gaps you have in life, as you grow in intimacy to the
connection or this anointing, which is a relationship with
a Friend of heaven, which is the Holy Spirit, something
happens inside of you where you become the very
version you see yourself in light of that truth--
in light of that love. You become the revelation. You become the very
thing He dreamed of. And there's a place
inside of each one of us that's longing for this
kind of connection. This is who you were made to be. 1 Corinthians 2--
this amazing chapter where Paul describes
that the Holy Spirit goes up and searches the
deepest parts of the Father and then the deepest
parts of man, and connects them together. And it ends by saying we
have the mind of Christ. It's this amazing
thought process that we actually are
connected to the deepest parts of the Father. What's in the deepest
parts of the Father? We are. Humanity. And what He
originally thought about us, and what He wants for
us and from us now. God's not concerned
with who you're not. He's concerned with who you are. God's not looking at
what we're not doing. He's looking at
what we are doing. And He's so connected to that. And the Holy Spirit hovers
over those areas of our life. And we have this
relationship with God through revelation
and through the Bible. And we start to connect to
the deepest thoughts, the most intimate desires of God. All of us want to be known. Well, God also in relationship
with us, wants to be known. There's this place inside of us
that loves to be in the know. It loves to know information. We're in the Information Age. We want to understand things. That comes from that same desire
that God has inside to be known and to be understood. Heaven watches us like
modern humanity watches reality television. Heaven is completely
obsessed with us. God is obsessed with us. And there's a place
inside of us that connects to God through revelation. We start to see what's in His
current heart for humanity-- of what's in His
current heart for us. Did you know that you're allowed
to connect to God's heart right now? That revelation
actually inspires you before it's a gift of
prophecy, before it's a word of knowledge, before
it's a word of wisdom, that you can have
revelation on what's in the Father's heart
right now for you and for the world around you. So, God gave us the Word, but
He also gave us the Spirit. And these two hand in hand,
this causes this synergy to happen in your life where you
start to get revelation what's in His original
heart for you, what in His original
heart for humanity. When you understand that 1
Corinthians 2 gives you access to know the depth
of God, can you imagine living without that
access once you know it? It's like having the
internet, and then not having the internet. That We would all
be so devastated if our wireless internet went
down for a week or a month. We would feel so
unplugged from life. That's what it feels like. Once you get revelation
in the heart of God and you get plugged in to
the Word and the Spirit, you start to feel so wired. You start to feel so
internally connected. This is your destiny. This is your calling-- to know Him and be known by
Him, to know what He thinks about the world around you. This is what we were made for. NARRATOR 4: Shawn Bolz is

mystery of God's love. And He gave us this
great command series. Number one is to love
Him with all your heart. Number two is to
love your neighbor. But number three is
to love your neighbor as yourself, which means
we have to love ourselves. And there's this place
inside of humanity where we think God's focused
on what we're not doing and who we're not, but
God came through Jesus and proved it
totally differently. The reality is just that Jesus
treated everybody around Him, even when they were
unqualified, as if they were fully qualified. This is how God wants
to treat you today. This is how He wants to speak to
you today, is that He loves you and you're qualified. He wants to spend
eternity with you. Some of you feel
really far away. You haven't felt like you've
had this connection with God. But if I could be
walking down the street and meeting a girl who was
almost a full-blown prostitute and she hears from
God about her calling, God wants to speak to you too. I want to do an activation
listening prayer with you right now, because
I want to show you how God loves to speak to us. It's His highest desire
to connect to us. And He wants to do this right
now as you're watching TV. Now, let's do this. I want you to ask God
something right now. Ask Him what is something
you've created me for to do, both here and eternity,
that would give me the most fulfillment? Just ask Him that. Don't let yourself think
about what you're not doing and who you're not, or
the mistakes you made. This is a time when you clear
yourself from those things and you listen to God for
who He is and who you are. Now, we're going to another one. I want you to ask God-- this is the God who loves you. What is the thing right now
that you love the most about me? And this is
challenging sometimes, because we'll hear the voice
of our own condemnation, or we'll hear our conscious,
or we'll hear again what we're not doing. And this is not a time for that. I want you to learn how
to do listening prayer, where you're listening from the
voice of the Bible you've read, but you're also listening to
the voice of the Holy Spirit. And He speaks to you things
that are in His heart for real. So, I want you to ask God what
something you love about me that only you can reveal to me? So, many of you just
heard something. And I'm going to encourage
you to write it down. And then write us
and tell us what you heard, because we
know that God's speaking to you out of His love nature. This is the mystery of His love. And if you didn't hear
something, keep trying. Keep waiting on God. And let Him speak to your heart. And spend time with God
every day right now. Let's do a 30-day challenge. Why don't you listen to
God every day for 30 days? Ask Him powerful,
practical questions, and then listen for the
result, and then write it down. Keep waiting on God
and let Him speak to your heart in different ways. You're going to learn
how to distinguish His voice from your own voice,
and from any other voice that you would hear. You're going to know it's God
because it sounds like love. That's the mystery of love,
is that His voice sounds like love. Let's change the way
we think God sees us. Right now, He has
to reprogram you. He needs to recalibrate
you into believing the mystery of His love,
to believing that you're worthy of this love, that
no matter what you've done, you're not far away. He has something to tell you. And the revelation of this
love speaks to us today. As we pray together,
as you pray with me, I believe God's going to
download and speak to you more than you've ever
heard of Him before. As we hear from
God for ourselves, we've grown confidence to hear
God for other people around us. So, God, I pray right now that
you would send your Holy Spirit to us to speak into our
lives, and to speak even maybe differently than
we ever heard you before. We impart right now to
everyone who's watching, all of our viewing
family, that you would hear God in a way that
would blow you away in yourself-- that you would
hear His love nature to you, that you would hear His
original plan for your life. He loves you so much. And I pray that you would
feel that for real today.
