DRAWING THE SHORTEST STRAW

[Music] three straws three trees three climbers it's actually kind of one tree because it's a cluster tree we got the one towards us which is the gravy actually they're kind of all gravy we got the back one which goes over the neighbor pretty hard we'll call that number three we'll call that the long straw we'll call the close tree the short straw and we'll call the tree on the left the lead on the left we'll call that second to the shortest straw the long straw is usually the one we want to get so the first guy will go first on the first lead second third we're maybe two and three together see the way he's holding his hand you can kind of tell that he's gotta grasp one a little extra i don't know kind of short the middle one yeah who gets to go first yeah yeah yeah yeah rock paper and then okay one two three oh yeah okay yeah let's see i gotta read my notes so much for that okay you get to pick first which is not really a victory so what does this mean if i pick this short short straw is the easy closed tree uh medium straw is the tree on the left long straw is the back tree the one with the most weight over the house okay that sounds like a good plant so we want the one there's not really any way to lose because you're still getting one spar or the [Music] maybe other if it just kept going now if there's a longer one than that it'd be funny if it like went all the way and up into his arm and you're just like i thought about doing that actually with some ribbons okay so long strong oh wait we don't know if that's a long one no we don't well some of us don't uh kind of like the char on this one [Music] that's longer a little bit here's a little bit longer so if this is the longest yours is the longest straw than you have back right i don't think this is the shortest one he got the shortest straw so he's up front and shorter straw has been pulled for you that sucks ford oreford cedar boy it smells good this is the good stuff for making arrows this port orford cedar hey damon you guys ever cut one that like totally looks like it's fine and it hangs up and something out there and then swings out don't you hate that because that's not about to happen [Applause] bam see even with cedar you can you can get some hinge out of brittle stuff by cutting into the trunk a little bit [Music] people will say it can't be done but it can it do be done i had some famous arborists talk to me after one of my last videos and say how it was specific to certain species whether you could hinge them and i'm all yeah that's true but you can get brittle stuff to hinge too but i didn't want to explain it now i did bam damn some will say it's fake how does he hit the same spot every time so lucky every day bam [Laughter] dang my part's almost over i always wonder about this thing oh wow [Music] so youtube what i'm looking at is this tree's taller so i want to go up high enough that well actually you guys will be able to flop a top out of this tree i think yeah you probably won't have to rig this top you can probably come up here dang it's going to be so tempting to just do that i'm right [Music] here short straw i'll play fair no boss no boss card if i'm down there i can i can make you guys look like heroes with my camera so easy to do with you guys too not because you're heroes but because my editing is so good hey i don't use the editing on myself to look good okay i just show my face it looks old-timey but first pointed at you that'll work that'll work i guess we can make that take some work but i think this next one i'm gonna have to push on it it don't wanna be that way so i'm gonna clean the burrs off of this so my hands don't get tangled in it [Music] you want this one but first too uh yeah it's gonna take a little bit of this one will be in the way i'll cut it off so send me your rope damian and i'll put your rope in here and i'll set a rigging line whichever one you want you guys wanna i got an omni block up here okay now i need the rigging line so hard not to jump into these other trees did i say that already so i'm going to orient the rope over this limb to that way because that's the direction he'll be he may not even need it wouldn't be surprised if he does not need it in which case you guys will have to swap ins later there's a little bit of a burr over here that i don't like or two that's better yeah if i make intercom videos where your intercom is heard for the youtubers you could sneak in some nice things about your wife or something and she would think that you were this dreamy guy that was talking about her at work in super romantical uh chick movie type ways yeah that's not funny yes of course so i could flush this off but i feel like it'll be stronger so this will leave a little bit of a thing for them to hang stuff up on if they're not careful i don't really want to flush it off since we're going to be rigging off of it it'll be a little stronger this union if i cut it out here so that's why i'm leaving a stub this time in case somebody in case the stub police have something to say i do have a reason kind of it's hard for me to leave a stub very hard very difficult for mr august tonicky and the third person to leave a stub yeah just hold it up just hold it up don't run it or nothing it might club me you can do it by hand i'm sure because i'm on the rope too okay it's all yours you got it okay it's all yours i'm letting go i guess my work here is done double check to make sure i got no open or cracks on the zigzag or my ropes cut it is tangled below that'll
