i want to talk about down with the blues when you're down with the blues when you're down with the blues blues music has always astonished me and it always been something that i think a lot of us as afro-americans should steady define your identity as who you are when i've been preaching and singing about old time count meeting songs what led me to start reaching back grabbing this old music was to educate our young people something about your heritage and what you have contributed to the world many times i believe that god brought the black man to america to redeem her with his music and a lot of people don't understand the way we worship how we get happy shout and run all up and down the aisle some call it low church the liturgical crowd and the only thing i can say to you is not wrong the way we have church is just different it doesn't look good on tv it doesn't look good just looking at it because it looks too emotional and it looks like it's just all emotionalism and there's nothing real and genuine about it i've tried to uh teach people do singing the old count meeting song music that a lot of people don't understand it because you just not us and you can't look at us and figures out you have to be one of us and that this music and the way we have church is strange to the world they they can't grasp it when they look at it why do they shout and holler why do they scream so loud why do they are so emotional one man said i take church supposed to be a place where you just come and seriously meditate and i said to him you need to read the bible meditation is a form of worship but also jubilant worship is true because god made us as human being to be active in what we do i went on to say to him some of the most intelligent people i've ever met lawyers doctors judges and all professional even president go to the game and holler why do you holler and scream there and you're supposed to be intelligent why do you get all emotional when you're having fun and dancing because there's a dichotomy about man he's spiritual and then he's the flesh you dichotomy there's something about you that just human nature that makes you emotional and david dance and a lot of people dance israel have a way of dancing when they get ready to praise god i did a song on my new project called uh singing to the lord a new song i actually did that song for israel it has an israeli sound to it i hope they'll get it sing unto the lord a new song sing unto the lord holy that's for jewish because they dance they lock hands with one another they dance all around we don't do that we get going baby we we do all this you see black folk move different it's from our native land of africa when mandela won the election what do you think they were doing they weren't like president here they were dancing and that the president was dancing they were doing the african dance the difference of phd but that's their culture that culture is in us we are from africa we are rhythm people european people are unemotional you have to be quiet and they just like to listen black people like to feel and they can feel stuff that's how they made it a slave they went by what they felt not so much about what they knew that something in that good feeling could tell them things i want to teach you so when you understand a different culture that some european people are on emotion and us and then there are other countries what about the indian they do everything in a dance our forefathers were able to communicate through the beating of the drawings when they were slaves and they were able to give signs with their singing with their singing and their beating of the drum and dancing watch this they outlawed the beating of the drums because slaves were giving signals how to escape by the beating of drums i have gone to israel europe and other places and i performed the soul of the spiritual spiritual classical music and couple of opera songs i could do a little at some time but then i do a little bit of everything you can go on youtube and look at something i did back in the 90s uh uh recital i gave right here was a little bit of what i would do over there i didn't need nothing over there but a piano and it went wild over there but what i was given the different cultures and different kind of music that we have presented to the world and as a result of that we had to move we had to communicate with emotions when they were slaves this same preaching that you hear me doing where i get to tune in and all it's called it's they call it sing preaching i tell young people don't call the hoop and it's called celebration you may ask does your pastor celebrate celebration when i get all happy we all get to shout and preaching and everything else all that's a form of the way we were made to worship listen to me young people our forefathers were never allowed to read if they start reading they would have caught on to some stuff so because they couldn't read they found a way to communicate they didn't know english whether swahili or whatever africa people spoke they did not understand his english when they came here on ships when they were saying mother they thought they were saying mammy when they were saying going the slave thought they were saying wine some are still saying three dollars instead of three amen so they were trying to learn the white man's english and they could only go by like a baby with it the way they heard it and they started trying to communicate but we lost our identity in slavery they were kings they were queens in their country when they came here they lost their identity they sold their family so they could break that family connection so they would sell the slaves to different landlords so they would not be able to keep in touch watch this when we tried to learn what music was as slave we all knew how to dance they went to what they call camp meeting the black slave were able to sit in the balcony and the white order was on the main floor and while up there in the balcony when they came to camp meeting they saw the white audience jumping and shouting and the slaves started saying this is this kind of stuff we like so camp meeting that's why he called old count meeting song we didn't start a count meeting the caucasian church did every once in a year in the summer they had helped me in revival and they got down and the slaves saw and said this is what we can't identify with so the slaves grabbed that and really carried it to the height dancing praising god in church they didn't know how to sit quiet when they heard something they wanted to respond listen to me i'm going somewhere where you're going somewhere yeah i'm going somewhere if you follow me follow me because it's going to set you free about being ashamed of the way your church have church once they picked up on their own style the preacher was the only person they ever saw standing in front of them that's why people don't understand why black menace is so powerful in the black community he was the only voice they ever heard the masters did allow them to have church and he allowed the preacher to preach now he couldn't read or write but he knew stories old preachers came beat them telling the story have you ever heard somebody i said tell the story doc they knew what they heard and they would preach sermon like dry bones joining the bell of the whales knowing all they knew how to preach those stories and they communicated couldn't beat them telling the story and that's how he ended up being in front of them if you came up in those days politically you'd be on a tree so the only person that ever stood in front of the slave were the preachers and he was the communicator and how did he communicate i'm gonna show you how tuning got into preaching when he started talking to them and he wanted to throw off the slave master he went in to sing preaching and i'll tell you lord god god is so good [Music] now when he did that he was also giving out codes and when they were singing they were giving out codes see when they were singing and the master walked by you better not learn how to read right then so they would be out there listening to him and he's preaching that's all he's singing that he's preaching and then when this he was given our codes through the same preaching the slave knew with the cold war their slaves also learned how to survive with the same music still away still away steal away children they were not talking about god they talk about how they gonna leave campus at night we're gonna steal away and escape this plantation and when the dogs got after them they were gonna talk about the dogs gonna be at you wait in the water wait in the water truth they saying go for the river the dog's gonna lose your scent and then they have ways of protesting against slavery without even telling them when they saw white people having church praise god then came out there and beat them and and murdered them they said everybody talked my heaven and gwin they hit me they were looking you all shout all you want you talking about him you ain't going to know heaven they had their own way to protest without people knowing it i don't know if some of you all know about i heard somebody call pig lag is that i say that right that is an art we have not studied pig lag i went to have dinner with some of my members years ago the summons the deek and dean and all of them and when sister fleming and i were eating dinner over that day they went to doing some pig labs i said what are you all doing then he talked it up i said you're all crazy i said what did y'all just say asked the mama she said oh she said i think they're really enjoying the dinner daddy mama then they went together i said do that again i'm talking about the summons [Music] i said what is that piglet i've been told any of y'all ever heard that i couldn't think that's a lost art that's masterful how black folk can use that and communicate that's how they threw off the masters now when you get all this you can understand why we're so different we are rhythm people and since we are rhythm people we created blues we created jazz it started with spirituals sometimes i feel like a motherless child long way from home still away all those were spirituals that black people created singing out of pain i'm a pilgrim of sorrow that hurt and the pain had to be expressed all people hurt have to express it sometimes through violent a lot of people don't why somebody hurt when you're hurt you express it through pain anger man why am i treated this way why am i hating because of my color and we take it out on more of our own people we kill each other out of hurry why you always go on the person closest to you i'm going somewhere now let me tell you something when slaves wanted to express their prey they started with spirituals sometimes feel like a motherless child you know songs like that now if you didn't want to go to church and you want to tell your woman how you felt that became more like blues because you couldn't sing in the church baby i love you you couldn't sing that in the church so they went to places where they could sing about sad music a hurt person if my man didn't come home last night you can't sing that in church so they went to places called the honky tonk and that's where they could go and get drunk drinking that what the liquor they call it huh i forgot that other the orphan called stomp liquor yeah that that that liquor they made down in the woods what moonshine i mean that made the moon shine [Laughter] all right now watch this when black people started singing that way about hurt gotta get this hot people like aretha franklin and mchaley was so famous they were hurt over a relationship with a man aretha i mean i appreciate her dad his church about the baptist church he ran revival there are either sent a son over every night and sent sermons to him to her she loved that sermon sleeping in the wrong woman left i don't know why she and james brown loved my sermon sleeping in the room i'm left jane brown sent me a hundred dollars sent me to i said tell him come over here and hit and then and bring the hundred dollars he said i ain't coming over there that's j brown you gotta understand i i grew up riding this musical stuff i owed his red wild neighbor i used to preach for his daddy and jane brown i remember all that about the red roof little richard grew up with my wife i keep tell i called little richard you need to meet my wife before he died you the one who wrote the song off of her name is two her nickname was two and she grew up with him they lived up the street she missed fleming no miss molly was his aunt who raised him and miss fleming talked about he dressed like the woman he was so madly in love with that didn't marry her and he tried to look like her and all that history and what she said we didn't know what happened little ritchie went trying to preach one while and then he went off somewhere next thing they say they saw him on ed sullivan's show singing to the fruity and i want to tell that very young lady you wrote the song to the fruity on is living in my wife he grew up in pleasant hill in maker and oldest reading all the people i came up around so i knew about this kind of music and why they did it i was from i'm from macon jane the red roosters if you went in there one way you came out another called the red rooster i'm trying to give you a lot of history now watch this when they started singing about how they felt about a relationship that became blues blues is about sad i mean who was the greatest blues singer in the world bessie smith how did b.b king all came up how did all uh uh louis armstrong got masterful in new orleans these things started in the deep south that's when we couldn't express our music no other way we used robo we you tend to they did everything that create music they're rubble they tend to up i was in new orleans and sister fleming i went out there for a vacation saw all them little black kids with milk bars and everything else no no no no no no you've been on bourbon street i just went through that now you don't stay on bourbon street so you see well they're creating tank a little pants on how they can create music that's how blues and then from blues came jazz uh thomas a darshan used to play the blues for maureen and bessie smith and then he got saved he was playing jazz and music jazz and music ain't nothing but uh bluesy music pepped up okay and out of that is gospel so you got spirituals blues jazz and gospel gospel music when willie made fort smith and thomas a dorset went to play and this y'all just did they put them at the church they said don't bring that devil music in here because if they want you to draw when i first came past the church you would have to fit with all that in here there were no drums in this church that same organ but here when i came here i just overhauled and painted it and all we heard was the organ piano but i brought drugs in the church half the deacon what in the world drums and the mothers over there where i put it mom said i like it boy put that boy back over there they protested me for bringing drums they weren't used to all that in the church so you ended up it was too jazzy it was too wild for them now look what has happened we have moved from spiritual blues jazz i often told you they taught me in morehouse dr whalum blessed us all going on to heaven i took church music i learned where all funds should go and how it's supposed to be designed in the church and it was shocking to me to find out the word jazz was called jackass music can't nobody define jazz when they first heard jazz white people that said we don't wanna hear that jackass music then they started getting famous over in europe and they tried to steal it and like like they created it they quit calling it jackass and call it jazz see you get to learn something i'm trying to teach you how to love yourself and once jazz got popular now what came out of jazz rock and roll rain nothing but a hound dog i preached at the church wherever explicitly grew up it was a black church ran revolving and all the old members said he used to come down here all time playing with our boys and come in our church and hear us sing this a church where he's from in tennessee and he confessed even mary and william and the war singers confessed mary and william and the war singers influenced the beatles do your research every one of the war singers came here years ago and performed here before all of them died and i heard them sitting in my house talking about that woman came and asked me questions this one then i said who were they the beatles so all that movement i'm showing you where all this music now you got rap and where did you all get this rap from the church let me give you some right well you better run better and better run you better run better run better run you better run to the city or rescue you better run well god called moses from the mountain top and they placed the globe when they knows his heart and then they give the commandments and bones in mind and said don't you leave them if they ain't rap i don't know what you call it you all stole that from the black preacher talking about rap now all these millions you rap artists make y'all ought to give trust some of that money you got it from us no now like hit a little history you understanding how blues came jazz came from afro-american people in the deep south and why so many black folk in chicago because when the tractors came on scene all the black folk wouldn't leave the south going to chicago to get a job at the plants can pick cotton on board miss tractors replaced it so a lot of blacks migrated to chicago and chicago is the beltline for gospel music you make it in chicago you make it everywhere did you learn something that's why chicago is where mahalia jackson and all of the greatest carol fans and all the people chicago roberta martensing well so here you are here you are understanding the culture of bluesy music sad music here is a man in the text today so when people say you got the blues they mean you're sad and when you got the blues you want to hear that music i when i went to europe and saying i i did a couple of bessie smith songs and i told myself now look i'm gonna sing two blows song and please don't tell my church and i said i know i'm a preacher but i'm gonna say one jazz and i'm gonna sing one blues i say uh my man didn't come home last night and you know when i got through there they were screaming i wasn't seeing pit feet in a ball of gin i let that alone i was scared to say never i want a pig feet bottle of jam i wouldn't sing that one betsy griffin bessie smith was the greatest blue singer in the world and she was an alcoholic and some of you don't know the greatest blue singer in the world had an accident car wreck and because she was black she was wealthy they wouldn't treat her in the hospital and she died that's it but bessie was the greatest blue scene go on youtube and listen to bessie griff bessie smith the greatest blue chica sing about a hurry they got a movie on her they would sing about her pain and this is what we be doing when we're saying we're singing about how we heard aretha was hurt over a man's relationship and my head was mad at the man twice and still couldn't get along with him and quit him and she said the audience is my family she left no children with all her millions aretha franklin never married again what did that do hurt created the greatest singers pain and blues make you saying the real thing baby you don't pray when you're hurt when you go through some stuff and you know why chuck gets so happy mama could get so happy insane she's been through something that's when you had the blues [Music] well i ought to get an award for this summer i even got to the text here's a man in the bible a preacher sitting down on a tree got the blues let's tell you the story elijah it's amazing to me how god the bible tells you the weak side of people and the strong side can you believe that the bible is so real when the bible tells you about the good side of somebody then they tell you about the weakness it tells you adam was the first man but then to tell you his weakness he disobeyed god they tell you noah was a man who saved the whole nation his family and drown the nation but after that he got drunk they tell you abraham was the father of the faithful and then told a lie about his wife and sure she was his sister lot fell out into in in in sin and forgot god and tell you about all these things look it tell you jonah was the greatest preacher of the old testament i don't know nobody converted a whole nation but then he tried to hide from god and then after the country repented jonah got the blues went and sat on a tree and told him about he wanted to die it tell you about jeremiah wanted to quit preaching he wanted to give up but said i can't quit because fire him a bone they tell you that moses was a great liberator and i i'm sure moses had also somewhere around there fooling all those folks and he the biggest thing that moses had was not god is his people hard-headed god here that god got almost in the debate one time god told him go to your people no more i'm saying no your people god said no your people got to mostly know your people god didn't even want to call me people and moses ain't mine they're yours and as powerful as moses was he murdered a man and he didn't even make it to the whole promised land because he lost his temple tell you that peter the rock man that we build a church on so to speak and yet he denied jesus said he didn't know the man the bible points out the truth about us when it gives you the good the bible so fair gives you the bad why to show we are still human somebody said how can a preacher get the blues they want to quit thank you welcome to the human family see as lewis said the soul and the body is so closely related to when one sneeze both of them catch the cold you may be spiritual but you're human and you're gonna understand how a man like this is getting down and won't die look he went up on mount carmel he was victorious he called down far from heaven elijah was so powerful that he stopped it from raining he said it won't be no more rain until i say so for three and a half years it didn't rain and then he goes out and hide in the brook and then he god feasts him with ravens then the brook dried up look how bold he is and look how bold he is now this is a high amount for elijah then he goes and lives with a widow and the son dies and he tells us don't be afraid trust god and heal the son and this is the man that was so bold that stood up in front of the king and said it won't rain because i said so powerful bro and look what else he does he goes up and meet 450 850 of bell worshipers and their prophets on mount karma that i preached about last week by himself bow and challenge them hollow and goes up and called down far from heaven bow and what else does he do he killed all the bell prophets after that all my outcome of victory success look like chunks folk god he's good but what happened all those victories all those time of boldness after he kills and murder all jezebel's prophets and prophetess he tells ahab all right now i seen a little cloud it's in the rain he tells the king rush home this after mount karma rush home may have because the rain might catch you and you might get stuck in the mud and what the bible says it have gifts on this chariot it goes back to jezreel and elijah i read him wait look yo this man i ran a horse [Music] elijah ran ten miles on foot and ran past ahab in his chariot that's a running man he was the jester one of that day and guess what when he gets the illogical and sit out at the gate oh water just pouring down not having rain in three and a half years and the oath goes in and when it gets ready to go in the house probably takes off his coat jezebel jezebel was probably sitting in her mirror and she probably i don't have nothing there she probably just painted the face putting the lips in and they're just doing this and then y'all know how you take you out i'm demonstrating women now in the mirror the bob said jezebel always painted her face and she put on the best makeup and look at her in the mirror putting up another and all that lipstick on and doing all this and brushing her hair sitting in a mirror and this whole hen pack husband of us it helped now was a handpack so he runs it he would never fight his own battle he let her do it that's the sign of the handpick he would never stand up to nobody notice how he never stood up he met elijah he didn't stand up like a king he was scared he let jezebel do all the dirty work that's how a handpeck is when it's time for him to make a decision he backs out and the woman has to do it a woman has to be distressed when he won't be some people told me that there ain't nothing wrong with being a hidden pec long as you're pecking at the right hand well you're still pecking and when you don't stand up she has to and guess how this how she gains the power he goes and says jesse girl you should have been there on my own caller she's still painting her what jazzy i i could before if i had a child sitting there right in front of where he was jesse and she girl you know what happened today what baby that man elijah that prophet he went up there on that mountain yeah putting it on and he called out we called on bail and then nothing happened and all of a sudden a fire came from heaven when he called on his guard really and guess what jesse what the fire born up the altar licked up everything she was well i'm not impressed he said but uh you know what else he did jesse what he killed all your prophets and your prophetess all of a sudden jesus dropped a makeup and said say what did i hear you right yeah jesse yeah look at y'all i could just your liking back yeah can you believe that jesse and she said looked at him kill whom my prophet he murdered all 850. she dropped what she was doing and probably got up and while he said walk past it and went over properly to her desk and wrote a letter and this is the way i want to pass phrases for you read it she said you think you got in the way what you did to my prophets by tomorrow this time or by the gods i will kill you i will get you she wrote that letter and gave it to the messenger said take that to elijah now elijah sitting out there at the gate all excited at the gate i didn't want now i'm sure they're going to believe in god now because look we've been victorious destroyed baal and the messenger came and said prophet i'm supposed to give you the letter he took that letter and he read it by tomorrow morning you dead meat [Music] wait wait he dropped that letter and took our run took all right here's the man that i ran a horse here's a man that was bold enough to call out on fire here's a man that wasn't afraid of nobody and got scared of one letter a jezebel letter have you ever gotten a jersey barrel letter have you ever gotten bad news have you heard a jazzy bell letter from your enemies we're going to get you we're going to defeat you have you heard a jezebel letter coming you from the devil demons itself we're going to destroy you you're not going to make it you're going down you won't live long something's going to happen to you we're after you have you ever gotten a threatened letter from the enemy i call it a jezebel letter and guess what all that power the anointed man of god ran a hundred miles on foot tell me a woman can't make you wrong man a bad woman will make you preach a bad woman will make you sing make you cry no man told my i won't cry meet a bad woman how you all on the floor [Music] he was scared of a nation and not scared running from one woman and some scholars said she wasn't planning to kill him she was just scaring him she wanted to bluff him why one scholar said she didn't want him out of town so he won't be no more threat against her guards of baal and then another scar said there's nowhere in the world she would bluff it why because she had already murdered all the prophets in town and guess what this woman said she said by the gods if you're not dead tomorrow what she said i rather die and give my life up if i let you live i got to get you or i'll die doing it and you think he was playing when he saw that well i'm going i'm going to tell you something he takes off running red on foot 100 miles and dropped one of his servers off and ran 15 more miles into the wilderness and then he gets running out of breath all he could think about water running jesus bill jezebel chesapeake won't kill me wait a minute i thought you were strong cheers to bill jessica want to kill me i got to run and then he went there and got on a tree and sat under the tree got the blues lord what's gonna happen to me lord what are happening to me i know i'm your child but where are you lord what doesn't happen to me sitting under the table got the blues lord ain't nobody but me all by myself and this woman wanna kill me oh hey bro is that you who called on far from heaven is that the bold preacher that stand in the pulpit is that the singer that always talk about the lord i make our way trust them children and now you talk about quit enough i've had it lord kill me take my life away i'm not worthy got the blue oh oh can you handle the enemy when church folk not around [Music] what happens when you run and you have no more friends and you have to pay your bills by yourself what happened when your so-called friends said they'd be with you now you're all alone in their wilderness they won't talk to you now you need money they don't want to help you you lying they're sick and depending on some assistant and the stimulus money hasn't come you had your business well you you you had your mount calmers you had your victory but now you got the blues you're behind on your bills you're sick you got some incredible disease and now everybody has turned from you and you're mad you thank god had let you down hallelujah let me tell you what happened to him while he was sitting on a tree pouting he was more concerned about what men would do that he was concerned about what god had done [Music] see some of you all are so worried about what somebody say they going to do to you you are going to suffer you're going to lose your business you're going to lose your marriage you're going to lose everything you work for you're going to lose that's what you're going to do to you i'm going to do this to you this is what man said i'm going to do you got to quit worrying about what man said he's going to do and reflect and look back where god has gone here's what elijah forgot he forgot how victorious he was with god he forgot that god is greater than a jezebel a jezebel letter is no standing up with god's letter instead of worrying about these jezebel letters you keep getting you need to go and get this letter and when you go by what this letter says you can handle jezebel letter read god's letter greater is he that is in me that he is in the world be still and know that i am god i am with you lord always no weapon formed against you will prosper it's not what the devil letter says is what god let us see but you know what's wrong with us i'll tell you what what's wrong with us we forget about what god has done for you how many times god has proven to you he provides look back at what he's done when people said you wouldn't be here i don't come out when they say what this virus is going to do what's going to happen to us what about what god has done god has already been good god has already proven to you he's able god has already proven to you he'll provide but you sent it out with the blues when you need to be said right oh king jesus no man can handle him i'm looking at somebody now down with the blues want to give up and quit the ministry want to give up quit the choir what why you all get out the car because somebody don't like you who you singing for well they don't work with me so they don't own your job either and you go there every day ron devils and you know what you said when you walk in there i worry about these baby i got to pay get my check you walk all around up lying on you on the job and they're over there in the corner how y'all doing you put up with lies there and yes you can't stand a few folks looking at a lady came here and left the church i said why you leave your folks look at you funny i said they probably looked at you funny because you were looking funny if you roll in your eyes and folk look they scared of you smile jazzy man ladder let me tell you all something here's a thank you holy ghost you deal with depression take your mount karmas to your jazz reel marshall you got that you need to take your victories to jezreel's dave where jezebel is you need to take your mount carmels to the wilderness go back and look that time when you were excited and god was doing great things take that with you when you go to bad places what you taught my friend i want you to rejoice in your adversities i want you to praise god when you sick i want you to glorify god when you broke i want you to love god i don't care when people don't love you i want you to look back and see how many victories on mount carmel you've had and take it when you get in a bad situation and say i refuse get the catch the blues something else i think i want to tell you before i leave i'm just about out of time no celebration there i don't work on your mind christmas coming up the despite the elijah went in depression he got depressed because why ready for this he got it too much excited over victory that he wasn't ready for failure you have to have failures sometimes to appreciate victories some of us thank you look just came to me thank god i ain't got no nose today some of you are victory stroke you so you so into victory you just ever heard of people star stroke i've seen some singers are so great they can be the greatest in the world they destroy themselves because they get all into themselves i'm so great i'm so victorious victory stroke and this is what elijah said he said lord take my life away from me i'm the only one left they have jezebel have murdered all the prophets and i'm the only one who loves it now with the blues ain't nobody but me lord only one love how you know your victory stroke man you think everything got to be victory but some things have a cross to it instead of a visa and there's a crown steward and you got to remember life is about up and down blessed and failures everybody my god will love you you need some enemies to make you run to god you know what let me tell you something you can get so caught up on god's blessing you forget to bless her [Music] and sometimes god has to let you hit a juniper tree to show you it never was your power that made you what you are it was never your strength that put you where you are so i don't want you to get over confidence in victories i know you had fun on mount carmel i know the fire came down you know you know the strange thing about jezebel anyhow out of all that he told jezebel what happened on mount carmel they still didn't see the hand of god some folk you ain't gonna never say i used to preach hard when i was young and old preacher told me one time it's funny he said boy listen don't preach so hard some folk gonna die and go to hell anyhow [Laughter] i'll be just preaching sweat he said just lie now you ain't gonna get everybody to say there's gonna always be some let downs and what are you giving up for somebody don't like you in the choir well you hear singing for them why are you going to get off to somebody i can't work with her there's a difference in working with her and working all day with them you know i worked with her all day just a few hours in a rehearsal why are you getting up running out of your church you've been in all your life because there was a a storm in there you have storms in your house and you're still in there why would you jump up and leave family because you all didn't speak last night you weren't speaking when you were dating i got you this time how many times you and that negro fell out i don't see no bam then this time the baby listen i'm sorry i didn't mean that i don't hung up again and then we're to cry lord i miss my man i've been mad 50 years baby same woman that is life don't you come up here thinking marriage is a bit of roses there's some thorns in there too that would make marriage what it is survival so but we stuck it 50 years been going on 51 years of being married sometimes she taking me down the country and i took her down the city what makes marriage ups down up down love is the only glue that holds everything together you may not like a person ways but you got to love them love go over your own ways you don't like your ways how many times you said to yourself why why not do such a stupid thing you call yourself crazy now when somebody just call you crazy don't call me crazy and yes you just call yourself crazy preachers who told you you're gonna always have a victorious church i had a pastor say to me i used to love hearing the doctor schuler passed on the glass church i read some of his books and the thing that amazed me uh when they got this big cathedral going and everybody was excited over this glass church you don't want to believe this isaiah they ask him say what problems you have with this cathedral with this glass church he said can you believe it i spent a million dollars a year getting [Laughter] [Music] windex i said what i read that i didn't think about you got to clean that glass a million dollars man i got to bring in expo all day and also to wipe all that glass how do you some of the greatest preachers have built cathedrals and i heard them talking about fleming well years ago i sent some of my deacons over the new birth this humongous church i said go over there and talk to them about how get some idea how to run our ministry and help us my deacon went over and met with that dick and they said y'all see this big old church over here is hell and my digging said whatsoever they'd be on the door bearing for money bamming for this customers out we have to have security right here i heard another preacher built the biggest church in the world and they asked himself how are you doing man my trouble just started they had it what he said soon as we got this big old friend building the members got in there and said we made it and sat down and quit giving i sure know about that we there sat down and he said he had to preach harder they had to take him and get him out of town before he had a heart attack distress or trying to keep folk moving so we got to pay for it i know about that got folk out of summer here go over here and sat down well it's three times bigger looking lord this and the lilies look at all all the way from egypt honey now how much you pay well i just didn't hear nothing when i was in summer hill i didn't have all this to worry about i have to have no office down there i just went on there and preached i didn't have to run no ministry wasn't nobody there but a jonathan the secretary hello but all this i got back here i got to run and worry about ministry and all this and the bills we have here twice the bills we had in summer here one sunday i'm in trouble if i don't make so much i have no bills over there we don't understand success comes with a price when he was successful on my mama karma there's a price in the wilderness now let me close and wrap this up because some of you going through depression during christmas ready what was wrong with elijah white he wanted to die watch this bradley he were running from death and want to die i'll get it wait a minute running from a death level and then get on a tree say god take my life away running from death and not want to die i would ask what you're riding from bro if you want to die stay there where jazzabel is that's what depression does you know what depression does make you want to quit and you want to talk about die you know what the story is you don't want to die you just want sympathy you want somebody say come on baby you're all right i wanna die all right go ahead on and die if we're gonna get on the bridge leaning i'm in the jump holding on something [Music] what we do on the depression is for sympathy why do you have to go to a club around folks get drunk why i got to be around everybody get drunk you can get drunk at home by yourself why you go to the club and get drunk because you have some drunk sympathizers [Laughter] i'm drunk too we love people attention when we get depressed we like talking about it because we want sympathy from others you are not ready to stand up on your own and declare victory you want somebody to sympathize with you because most folk talk about depression just looking for sympathy that teddy it's him you got to go elijah was looking the wrong place he was looking at a letter and the threat and not looking at god is where you're looking that'll put you in depression do y'all like me teaching like this because this is going to deliver folk for christmas some of you are going to be sitting around christmas lord i can't go nowhere they got a lock down my friend got the virus my neighbor got it and i can't do what i used to do it mama way over there some other city can't go can't get on the plane and i'm just sitting in this house all ball all up i said balled up paul and the stories are sad when you watch in the edge of night and now you in the edge tonight as the world turn looking for tomorrow and find out you're going to be with the young and restless in general hospital you got one life to live and you sitting around with the blues let me tell you something oh great preachers passed on had a great sermon out don't forget it he said in this life things rarely work out according to plan let me let me i ain't got time to deal with that let me go on i'm getting so many revelations aren't you glad god didn't answer some of your prayers what if god had answered elijah's prayer kill me lord god didn't didn't kill it and god didn't rebuke you god knew that man was tired and he was depressed you run a hundred miles that brother ran a hundred mile dropped off her servant and went 15 more in the wilderness hiding from jezebel and now he out there under this tree and god came what you doing here lord i'm the only one left he got to thinking wrong first he was god let him get in depression to drop his pride who told you you're the only one left that was 7 000 more people that had never bowed down to me elijah was 696.99 one short you're not the only one you get all caught up in all your victories you think you the best and he said i'm not better than my office i'm not better than the other pro so evidently you all caught up thinking you were better than they were and sometimes god will let you go in the depression and go in the blues to let you know you're not all that great because you had a few victories don't get caught up with success and thinking you so great that you can't go down too who told you because you know you know i i here's a man who prayed on the mountain he like some church folk i had a church one time and we were going through some problems norrish and he is the best praying deacon in the church and i said look we got to deal with this brother i said let's pray i don't hear no prayer there ain't no time to pray this business now he was the prayer in this digging in the church but when i said come on dick and let's pray we haven't got no time no prayer this business well you've been doing all this praying but be right now this is what happens when you talk about prayer you don't think prayer work when you get to prayer maybe we have been in some place and folk talking ted let's pray you know you get mad i ain't got no time pray this business he forgot prayer worked for him and now he want to die instead of praying got caught up in pride pride is so bad until you thank you the only one worth something i just said something you all missed that that went over your head and onto your feet pride is so bad you'll think you the only one worth something that if it wasn't for me they wouldn't have this if you think you're so important just die if you don't think a church can run without you don't you mess right here and die if you don't think your wife can live without you don't you mess right here and die you think she's gonna die too somebody else might be in your house in your bed and driving your car and got the keys to your door and you know what's so bad about it you're not coming back to say nothing don't you get the thinking folk can't do without you people find a way to live quit thinking about what you are going to do with it what do they mean fine they might do better you know what god told next week i pick up what happened in the cave it's too much god told the brother the angel came while he was whining and fell asleep an angel came and touched him wake up prophet god wouldn't rebuke him he just had the blues he woke up the angel said eat there were coals of fire and some bread been cooked by the angel and water he said get up eat he woke up he said eat elijah got up and ate the bread they were cooked by god and drank some water and went back to sleep that morning he woke back up and the angel came back and said wake up prophet you woke up eat bake bread from hammer drink this journey is gonna be rough he went back to sleep he came back woke him up third time wake up profit eat drink your journey is going to be hard which means next week he had to go 200 miles more to mount horror to hear from god what's going on all right you know i don't get it by ahab jesus bill this just came to me he's revelation out of all that on my karma they were still difficult and hard i've seen people seeing the anointing in this church seeing the power of god people staying in the spirit miracle and healed and still said that's phony man came in my upper room my milkamo i was a blind man from lothonia i no he told mama seuss who was blind he said reverend flaming my friends they went to your miracle morty and he can see i said really he couldn't get to you he lives in lotto i know he was my friend he behalf was blind uh you heard he was a muslim he said you know i said i like to meet him i've heard about other miracles that people didn't tell me about for miracle morning nine women in here if they tell the truth i prophetically claimed declared that they would be pregnant then you hurried me i stood here and said some of them i said you have a baby next year and so i'm not here now i know i'm telling the truth and they have children and i know i called one here last year that don't come here i thought i said call i call the mothers i want gonna speak your daughter she said let me let you speak to i said come to third sunday night i don't hardly see her what i said come third sunday night god just told me to be a mother now she couldn't have no children just been married they came here and i came down looked sore right over there but saying now i have to come up i lay hands on she didn't do no falling or nothing i was going back and sit down that's all i said you see them all on facebook pregnant the baby is coming didn't tell me find out later i've seen the miracles of god and i have spoken to people young lady used to work for me in the back i forgot her name barbara no she was working for me and uh nicki yeah and i said uh here i have a good worker and i walked through she never had a child she was crying i wanna be my mother and all that i said i was here i got walked through i walked through the office i said look and stop nikki has to stand up i said barbara get two peeping holder that's a hard floor back there i laid hands on and she went flat on the floor i walked off i said you'd be pregnant soon now she got three babies huh three of them i can tell you're gonna have that many she joined the church right after that she worked here she never joined still here here's the point i've seen people see miracles and still deny somebody taught me i believe god he came down him and showed me he didn't come and you killed him you put them on the cross some of you all are so hard like ahab saul god miracle or mount karma jezebel wasn't up there no wonder she was so adamant a lot of folk like daddy they weren't there she didn't care but he saw he didn't get convinced what happened to him it got harder and some people can get hard until you get so hard you'll hate the vehicle that bless you pharaoh heart got hardened by god do you know why he wouldn't give in and the sun does two things to wax it will melt it or harden it the gospel will drive withdrawal you've seen god working miracles you've seen him bring you out of one thing and yet you still want to deny him and don't believe it and you know what god would do when you get like that he'll let you get like pharaoh he'll let your heart get harder and i often say i think god let pharaoh's heart get harder so when he busts it won't be nothing but dust preachers gonna take that run with that one you keep on getting so hard when god bless you you won't see no fragments nothing but dust don't get so hard things are rough now but look when people started praying for a cure and all them all on the knees policemen all who think giving you this remedy god and you still don't believe his god you think it's science god has answered some prayers and i don't know what's going to happen afterward you know what church will never be again the way it used to be i got up god spoke to me that this morning listen even when this pandemic is over listen to me pastor you my will get ready for all these colorful lights and my will get with what uh fleming already doing got rid of all that old furniture you know and you might as well get yourself ready with all that old traditional wing and get ready for this new church because church is not going to be what it used to be because of this pandemic this kind of thing has forced us to go online society is forcing us into the media marketing why i believe god is getting ready to bring about the antichrist that's what i believe and he took a virus and forced us to live streaming why is this happening like this coming to a cashless society no more running here dropping off no tithing number though you're online cash app and all that because now they ain't getting away they don't want your money and the bob of the class when this leader come on the scene what he's gonna have to do is grab the system one young man who's an atheist already talking about knocking churches on facebook he feels and they know these atheists if we get them all off that we can stop the church i like send him a letter and say baby we have church under the trees but we're moving to a man who can grab the system and all he got to do is grab it and shut it down and you won't buy nor sale without the mark of the beast i see it church will not be so what am i saying in the past you might we're gonna get you a praise team y'all get these choirs you might as well hang up now times has changed and go on get you a praise team and this quiet stuff now that's what we used to have but it's changing their church is changing look at flaming with this i ain't never preaching nothing like this or sweat that red tennis shoe man i'll put you out in church with that if i can change you can change you gotta get with it or be left behind amen young people i don't know if they'll ever come back when church opens up like this they're going to be look i already know what half of you are going to be doing when i open back up sitting out at home i'm sure enjoying getting my coffee showed him preach this morning i was watching you while i was eating breakfast you're all stand up somebody said be saying where's the fellowship zoom the mayor and other officials had a meeting they tried to get me i said zoom you know don't come down here give me a number to call in zoom having conference it's changing you you're gonna have to learn brother the preacher and you see i have adapted where i could preaching here wasn't a soul i don't need no amen to get happy baby i'll be in here all by myself with these camels and follow y'all and come in here and play some music from a tape and go right to pull up and go to preaching empty church what they doing now all these pastors sitting in that study i can go in my study and shut this down cut out on all the bills play me a little music here come reverend fleming i wrote a song haven't given the kingdom is coming the kingdom is coming are you ready to go are you ready to go the kingdom is coming the kingdom has come are you ready to go are you ready to go and now when i get you signed that song i'm going to teach you all the parts coming coming coming coming coming coming the kingdom has come i'm teared up i can write to you know i wrote several songs for some people i don't tell them about they paid me too i got multiple gifts multiple gifts from people say well i want to tell you something my friend is changing are you ready for the return of christ now i want you this christmas you don't have no pity party don't go no depression enjoy being alone but there's so many things you can watch being alone people don't have to be at your house it's not about them it's about him santa claus ain't coming but once a year i know what you're going to do all the rest of the year [Laughter] brother he doesn't come and give you nothing but once a year that's not fair i need something every day santa claus i'm talking about come every day let's pray lord many times we get down with the blues depressed getting caught up in our victories and thinking we're the only one and getting caught up in so many victories and sometimes you let us lose to see we're human we're fragile we make mistakes we're not gods you are and help us receive from the prophet sitting on the tree he needed rest that depression come as a result of not getting no rest and we say crazy things when we have not had any rest and thank you you touched the prophet now touch us we need that angel's touch to let us know you're still with us this christmas morning send your angel and touch us give us confidence i know why you're complaining i know you don't mean all this you just hurry you're just depressed but i understand you and i'm with you i thank you for the revelation now don't let us become hardened like ahab and jezebel when we've seen your miracles help us to relax and let your anointing come through in jesus name amen if you're not a member of a church like i said don't get hard when you've seen the miracles of god and then you get harder i want you to receive the miracle the anointing of god some people don't believe in the anointing and all like that well they still christians they still christians they just have their own belief a lot of people say believe salvation is the key but i want someone enjoy my salvation i don't want to just have salvation i want to have something else to come with it i want to enjoy the anointing i want to i want those friends benefits of being saved so listen friend get in a good bible believe in church whether they get happy shout they still preaching the bible all of the same thing i don't care how it comes out you mean i like shouting you may not like a lot of noises nothing wrong with that sit in a quiet church and then let them teach you and then if you want to express your religion and give freedom of expression nothing wrong with that it's your preference are you living right are you a child of god is the key [Music] you can join this church right now you don't have to go in depression and let the enemy [Music] take advantage of your past and ruin your future so snap out of it that's what god was doing to the prophet snap out of it i thank you for tuning in a very touching message that's the way i am i teach and preach i may come back sunday and run all over the place i don't know what god let me do but i'll tell you what we're going to look at elijah a little further and tell you what how what how to behave in a cave [Music] and here they ended up in horeb on the mountain of god okay and i'm just going to probably preach the rest of the year on finishing elijah because i want to show you how he went back to heaven and he didn't even face death and i may be going on to elisha his predecessor he did more miracles than elijah amen we just got the elijah spirit here this week thank you for tuning in text me right now or call us on that number and members pay your tithe and support the church because this is the proof in your belief support the house of god didn't pay your tithe go online and pay it down cash out and if you want to make a donation to my ministry say look this man is touching my life i hear you all saying that every time i preach then make a donation to this ministry you can go online cash out put that cash shop up there my comment whatever it is they're putting that up and just give something to keep us going when i if i'm blessed by somebody i want to bless them and a lot of men will say perhaps you don't get on any aspect and people will give well i'll start [Music] because my daughter got on passes you can raise anything you want if you ask people for they'll give to you well start giving and that's probably convincing me that people want to give everybody not the same people want a planting to you because when you plant into this a good ministry you get blessed you don't plant you don't reap all right so it's information there if you want to plan a love offering in our ministry though you're not a member here you just want to give a donation somebody sent me five thousand dollars that sure nothing let me go to prayer i said well i sent me a five thousand dollar gift to the church this is for your ministry use one man said you saved my life wow you saved my life here's my donation to you to your ministry amen that helped me a lot paying for television bills and everything it's so expensive even though the church is empty i still got the bills to run and employees to pay so i hope you be faithful enough to be a blessing to us by a donation of any amount okay and if you want to join our church online i'm out of time you can join our church online and we will accept you as a member of this church just call us and let us know you're in another state and there are 30 people have joined online from different states we want you a part of our ministry okay god bless you praise god from whom all blessings flow [Music] remember that i want to say one other thing before we leave there are voters they call delegates going out around the city of atlanta trying to get people to vote georgia voters they call the georgia voters now when you come by this church every day you're going to see maybe 200 cars in the parking lot i will allow them to come here and meet and have strategies how to go out to get people to vote okay so members keep driving my watch all these cars those are georgia voters okay because i want you to vote and mark karma gonna play a great role in southwest atlanta trying to get people to vote okay all right let us stand praise god from whom on blessing [Music] come on pick it up and let's praise god today is wow all of us all this god bless you and we will see you next week
