cheers guys so welcome back today i am in tanzania actually in arusha in the middle of the street as you can see enjoying one of their local coffee and today i thought of sharing with you 10 things which you should not do by traveling in tanzania and i wish someone would have told me that before coming here it's pretty good so the first thing is actually what you should not do while traveling in tanzania is freaking out getting stressed or stressing out about time different to us to our culture like where i come from especially all germans are known for being on time like on time time time here in tanzania which means basically relax no worries everything is going to be all right and even if you go on your safari and your driver might be a bit late or you have a meeting with someone and it's possible that he might show up like one hour later but try to see it positive and think like okay now this is your traveling time your holidays you're here to relax and try to be without time and have this feeling of being in the moment being in the actual here and now so the second thing you should not do while traveling in tanzania is actually doing what i'm doing right now being with your camera like this filming walking around freely shooting everyone like making pictures of people even people here they have their own right so you should ask people first for permission if you want to record them or shoot a video and do not think that i'm alone here like i actually have a guide here you can see him walking in front of me just to make sure that i am safe and i can shoot this video for you guys today so the thought thing what you should not do while traveling in tanzania is that you should not walk around freely at night so the moment it gets dark this is pretty early here like by 6 30 ish 7 laters it's dark so then you have to take a taxi the mosque is just so beautiful i had to show you so yeah just get a taxi taxis here are pretty cheap so don't save this few dollars for a taxi just get a taxi and be safe the next point what you should not do by traveling here is actually a funny one like i did not know before and i had no clue that this is actually true is that you should not like eat with your left hand or give money with your left hand or even shake like greet someone with your left hand because they consider being the left hand as the dirty hands which maybe you used to i don't know maybe back in the day to use to wipe yourself if you're not having toilet paper i don't know so you should only use the right hand yeah just for you so the next point is that you should actually not ignore locals like if they you see they're curious you might be from a different country they just want to say hi like if they greet you and they're excited to meet you just say hi back and also you should start maybe learning a few words in swahili because if you greet a local bach in their local language which is swahili they just feel like oh you're one of them and then they get even more excited about you and they start talking get in a conversation so i think if you want to not only travel just to be a tourist and you want to travel and also engage with others that's something you should look maybe deeper into [Music] we quickly took a motorbike just to get to this tower here they call it the clock tower which is the center between cairo and cape town and it's actually directly here in arusha i find that it's cool so anyway the next point is that you should not carry too much cash with you it's me now from my house where i live right now at my friend's place in arusha no idea what happened it stopped recording at that point so but just for a few sequences then we get back directly to the video to back to arusha so you should not carry too much cast with you so what i do i just carry a few like a couple like a hundred thousands of tanzanian chilling and then i carry my credit card because to be honest you guys most likely have already paid your safari upfront and if you make a bigger shopping or something you can pay easily with your credit card so just carry what you need for the day and that's it i don't know why so yeah just have in mind in case you go somewhere where it's a little bit more like an islamic background or where you go and have a cultural visit for example you go visit the masai so that you cover yourself a little bit more up or any rural areas because people there might not be used to white people at all and having our styles bringing to them just respect their own culture so [Music] something else what is not allowed in tanzania and actually it's a new law since i think june 2019 that you are not allowed to carry any plastic bags so even the ladies here they just gave me a reusable bag so um yeah just a packing tip for you that you watch out what you're packing before you travel here okay so another thing um you should not do i think a whole entire africa is that you should not show affection in public which means basically um yeah it's just not their culture like whatever you want to do like kissing and stuff like that holding hands okay maybe holding hands is okay i've seen many people holding hands but kissing and hanging and all the things please do that in your hotel room or maybe at the beach when you are more in private because everything also for the beach like even the dressing style at the beach you can basically walk around naked no one really cares but if you are in town or in a village then you have to accept the african roots so my last point for you guys is what you should not do while traveling here in tanzania is that you drink tap water so it's really important for us to take care of our health so don't also eat like any type of street food be sure about which type of street we are eating even on zanzibar like get a guide who knows their places so that like myself when i just go and eat random food i don't eat any street food by the way i will get yeah i will get sick very easily because they reuse oil and all these kind of things it's the same for tapped water you might end up getting sick and of course you don't want that so just go and buy bottled water and also for here a tip is go and get yourself a reusable water bottle which you can refill all the time so that was it already from today's vlog and if you liked it of course give it a like and stay tuned because we are having so many other videos coming up i'm shooting here in tanzania also travel vlogs and advice and yeah i see you soon [Music] this is insane remembering
