hi everyone welcome back to crafting at wounds in Wonderland my name is Stacey I have a new spin on my pizza pan project you probably saw these in my Christmas things and in my fall crafting videos but this is just I have I'm going to show you two different styles these are just pizza pants from the Dollar Tree and I got this rope today at Hobby Lobby it's 100 feet it's called natural cording it's a hundred percent cotton it was $14.99 but I used my 40 percent off coupon so I think it came to like $8.99 for a hundred feet and usually I used the nautical rope from the Dollar Tree to trim out my piece on the pizza pan but I'm getting to where I don't want everything to be brown all the time even though I'm doing farmhouse so I thought this would still say farmhouse but it's a little more spring and summer it's more of a creamier off-white okay so if you don't have a Hobby Lobby near you and you can't get this natural cord let me show you another idea I got these three ideas are these three choices at Walmart this is the hyper tough diamond brand or diamond braid clothesline it is 3/16 of an inch and it's a hundred feet long and I think this was for 97 so this would give you another look especially if you want to go coastal or beachy I think this one would be really good if you want it clean and pristine here's the diamond braid clothesline that is polyester and polypropylene blend it's 7/32 of an inch thick and it's a hundred feet it says it'll hold 24 pounds so if you want bright white this is the way to go if you want kind of shiny this is the diamond braided rope from oh this one was also 497 this one was also from Walmart it's an eighth of an inch thick it's only 40 feet I think it was a dollar 37 or dollar 47 something like that so that's another option for something different and you could paint this probably or mix up some figure out how much you need cut it a little longer than what you think you need and then mix up some paint and water and a like an old plastic container of some sort and soak it in that color and you could probably even have colors for spring that the cotton would probably die the best but I don't know I haven't tried that that's just something I got these to toy with that will be another video okay so those are some options if you can't if you don't have a Hobby Lobby handy and you can't find this natural cord they had several different sizes of this even had one that was like $40 worth of cording and it was about twice this thing but I think this will work in place of the Dollar Tree according nicely so the first thing you need to do is kind of pattern of the middle of your pizza pan I had one out of tissue paper I don't know where it went so I cut another one out of this piece of vellum this doesn't have anything to do with the project it's just a piece of vellum the reason I want it out of tissue or vellum is so you can see through it to mark off your design okay the designs I'm going to use to show you these two projects our placemats from the Dollar Tree this one's dead it says always stay humble and kind it's a little bit of that green turquoise color and written in grey I really like it and it's got like the shiplap marks through it which is kind of cool and the other one is navy blue and it says home sweet home you know they both have a round design on them so that is what drew me to them for this project so I'm going to be able to lay my pattern over the top of the placement and see exactly where to make my marks so that it will look centered and nice on my on my pizza pan now I did make one out of card stock just to show you if you have this there's no way to know are you exactly centered you can't see what you're working with so it sounds better to have it our card stock because it's more durable but I am really liking this vellum it's more durable than the tissue paper but I can still see through it so I've got a sharpie marker centering my pattern and I'm just going to go around it I need to cut my design I don't I'm just gonna give hair scissors to do that now you have several different options when it comes to attaching these you can use glue dots you can use I wouldn't use hot glue because it it books up behind there and you won't get a flat smooth finish but you could use permanent like ATG gun tape and I think that's what I'm going to use you can also use spray adhesive that's helpful super glue I don't know if super glue would melt this or not about my eight my Scotch a CG gun and I'm just gonna turn my placement over and I am going to learn several beads of glue as I will be using is this gorilla all temperature hot glue sticks I got them at Walmart there's 45 of them in this bag I think it was seven or eight dollars I think remember that was before Christmas when I bought them so all right my guys hot I've taken the wrapping off of my natural cording from Hobby Lobby I'm pulling from the middle so I just got this round bucket just to set it in because now that it's a tie you know unwrapped it's coming apart I just don't want it going everywhere so I'm going to start at the bottom and right now it's taped so I'm going to start a little ways away from that so I can cut that off but I'm going to leave it taped on for the moment so I'm just gonna run a good bead of hot glue stick the rope in it and push it down okay I'm not gonna come all the way to the end because I want to be able to make it a nice finish I'm not coming to end with the glue okay so I'm going to cut off nail the end that has the tape on it and then I'm going to cut my twine and an own-goal not twine Courtney at an angle so they kind of fit together so I cut both of them on a 45 this is gonna take a little bit of glue I'm going to put it a little bit in each on each piece for a minute and kind of twist each piece back together so that it doesn't fray on me and then once we get the frame tackled we can glue it down you definitely want to use your silicone jingle cover this cause it's a little bit warm so now we got to do the back and what I do for that is I mark where the center is and I come back here and I mark where the center is on the back of my pan that tells me where the center is going to be don't mind this it's painted I was going to do a Halloween project with it that I never got to so I'm just reusing it so now I'm going to take my trim and I'm gonna make a hanger I don't want the hanger to be huge so I'm gonna cut at an angle along the braiding of the rope and for this I'm going to put some e6000 down with the hot glue because I don't want that hanger to come off alright so this is the glue I'm using it's a six thousand it's a silicone based glue it holds really well to metal so I'm going to eyeball where I want my hangry to go and I'm gonna put a good dollop of e6000 in there but to hold it in place while the e6000 cures I'm also going to put hot glue there I'm not throwing hot glue on top I'm just putting it beside the e6000 and I'm making sure that I get all three strands of this rope into the glue and making sure that it's facing the right direction you don't want it to go this way because the hanger needs to go this direction does that make sense I don't know and I'm going to put a little bit more hot glue on top just to make sure that all three strands of the twine cording whatever you want to call it I just I want them all stuck together no it just needs to dry okay and then I have a hanger on my side and then I'm going to do the same for this one but this one's going to get a bow on it so I am going to go ahead and start my rope up at the top of the sign because it'll be hidden by a bow do this with tacky glue as well just the sticking together of the ends not the glue down don't do that with tacky glue it won't stick all right just got a twist in my cording which I'm going to kind of undo it's just from pulling it out of the center it's not a big deal all righty now I'm going to mark the center now I have this sign and I'm going to get some ribbon to put a bow on it okay I'm using some of this burlap white polka-dotted ribbon from the Dollar Tree and this is just a piece I had left over from another project and then you're going to need some jute so I'm just kind of folding over a loop and then with the piece that's left I'm folding over another loop and I'm going to cut this off just so it's not in my way and then I'm going to bunch it together in the middle and I'm going to tie it with my jute string and I'm going to tie this knot that will hold the center of my bow together I'm not learning right now about the tails and how long they are I want to incorporate some of this rope in here if I can and I'm thinking that I'm going to cut this in and I'm going to tie it into the middle of my bow with the jute that I tied the middle with and then I'm going to unravel it unwind the three strands I don't know if this is gonna work this is just something crazy happening in my head right now and I have this like Octopussy okay I don't know if you saw that or not but I just kind of fold it over the long tails that I had just unraveled and made him into kind of a bow I pull these yeah mmm-hmm kind of like that all right so I'm going to fishtail my car to be whatever you want to call it to my rope and I'm just fluffing up the loops they're kind of random and I think I kind of like that it's kind of silly it's kind of cute I don't know so I don't like the way that that looks so I have some of these are all jute boats just wrapped around my fingers tight in the middle if you've been around my channel for a while you know how to make those I'm thinking if I just put that on top it'll add one more layer and clear it out so I'm going to go ahead and glue this down a generous amount of glue trying to glue it up on the pan itself rather than down on the place mat okay and then I'm going to glue this little jute bow on top of that and that will keep all of the knots from coming undone and I just want to cut these off just a little they're hanging down into the words I think I like that so you're just gonna fluff up the bow the burlap ribbon and voila that one we've gotta go a little bit more off of these so that we can see all of the wording and as time goes by I'm betting these are going to fray out a little bit more and I think I'm okay with that they don't go over the words anymore bring up these lips a little bit all right I think this one is done now I need to decide about this one do I want a bow or new so you know what also would have been really pretty on this one is some gingham checked pale green and white ribbon would have been really cute on that but I want these to kind of go together okay so I'm gonna tie this with my suit on this one I'm gonna go with just the burlap with the jute I don't know let's try tying in just a short little piece I'm going to put a good glob of glue right there push this down they'll have this product called stiff and quick by Eileen aleene's and I got it at Walmart and I'm just going to spray my bow get it wet wipe off of my placemat it's kind of a cross between spray glue and hairspray and then I'm going to arrange these things the way I want them and if I leave them alone until it's completely dry they will stiffen up and they will stay pretty close to that way I'm kind of happy with that kind of a bow it's a little lopsided so after things are dry I'll go trim that up a little bit more but I'm also going to do the same with this one and this is gonna just make them stiff but it takes a good sometimes takes 24 hours this soaked it up pretty good so I think it's gonna take a little bit of time to dry all right there you have it my latest take on my pizza pan Dollar Tree DIY using Dollar Tree pizza pans and placemats from the Dollar Tree also ribbon from the Dollar Tree so if you like this project please give it a thumbs up if you didn't like it give it a thumbs down it lets me know what you're thinking out there and if you like what I'm doing let me know what you think of it in the comments and let me know if you might do this for yourself also let me know have you seen any other placemats around either at Walmart or Dollar Tree or a dollar general that would be what that would lend themselves to this because I think it's really cute and I think these are gonna sell well in my booth when I get them all made up alright this has been crafting at whimsy Wonderland thanks for stopping by I'll see you next time
