FARMHOUSE Decor DIY Collaboration | Pizza Pan Craft with So Kate | Take Time To Craft

yes yeah hello everybody i'm deb and welcome to take time to craft this is my co-host jackson he's being a really good co-host today maybe a little bit sleepy but that's okay it's okay i'm super excited for this episode today it is my first collaboration with kate from so kate you'll have to check out her video in the description box below i'll leave you a link so you can go right to her site show her the love give her some thumbs up and subscribe to her channel as well so kate and i decided to do a collaboration together using a pizza pan and similar materials and just see what we could come up with with a piece of decor that is all our own yet using some some of the same materials to work with to come up with this farmhouse decor and i hope you enjoy it as much as we had fun getting together making these pieces so i invite you directly after you watch my video head on over to socate and see what she came up with let's get started i start out with a pizza pan i will spray this pizza pan with some rust-oleum matte spray paint that i got from walmart i'm going to attempt to make this pan look like it's old enamel i'm going to apply black paint on the edges to make it have that enamel appearance now this could be done either with chalk paint like i've used or just regular acrylic black paint applying it in little spots all around the edges give it that that old enamel look next i will glue this nautical rope from dollar tree into the inner edges of the pizza pan [Music] do [Music] i'll make a bow out of this black and white buffalo check ribbon and i like to use the floral wire from dollar tree to cinch the bow in the center i just use a small amount of the wire and bend it kind of like a hairpin i wanted kind of a flat bow on the top of this pan so i just create folds on both sides of my bow until i reach the center [Music] then i cinch the middle and put my hair pin floral wire the center to hold it closed like a bow [Applause] [Music] next i cut a piece of ribbon that is the length of the tails for the bow i fold the middle of this piece into thirds and wrap it around the center of my bow and secure it with the wire next i'll be using these flexible stencils that i got from dollar tree they were just the perfect size to paint on these heart chalkboard tags that i also got at dollar tree and i'm going to paint out the word home [Music] i'm going to make a vertical arrangement with the home word i'm going to attach them together using some jute twine so i will hot glue the ends to the back of the pizza pan and thread the jute twine through the holes of the tags to spell out the word home [Music] and then i just use a little bit of hot glue to keep the tags in the exact place that i want them i dovetailed the edges of the bow and then hot glue the bow into place on the top and then using the flowers that kate and i had picked out for this project i'm simply going to hot glue them onto the nautical rope [Music] [Applause] [Music] then i thought it needed just a little bit of greenery so i added some boxwood so i just hot glue those pieces on and i thought it needed a little piece at the top under the bow so i glued that into place [Music] and last i will glue a hanger onto the back of the pan and first i just i hold it into place with hot glue and then to give it some staying power i glue it with e6000 [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and here is my finished product i love this project it's a nice fresh piece for my home with the spring just around the corner i think the the flowers give it a sweet little pop and with the black and white buffalo check i love the enamel look on the edges of the pan to give it that old weathered look i had so much fun collaborating with kate on this project i've just been super excited to to show y'all what we have come up with using the same materials and coming up with completely different beautiful pieces and i hope this inspires you to make a project on your own i want to thank kate again from socate for collaborating with me she is so super sweet and i encourage you to go right now to her channel and check out how she made her pizza pan decor thank you so much for watching this and i hope to see you again here soon and remember make time for yourself and take time to craft see you soon you
