[Music] you open the doorway and we don't know who or what will walk through it welcome back to screen crush i'm ryan erie the ending of doctor strange in the multiverse of madness raises so many questions about what is next for steven and the mcu who is shirley's throne plane and how is she connected to what comes next where did she and strange go and how does this lead into what the next big crossover is for the marvel cinematic universe so we have answers for you prove it steven uses the dark hold ever so briefly but it still leaves a bit of its dark power inside of him hence his new third eye now using the dark hole causes an incursion this is when two universes bump up next to each other causing one of them to end this is why charlize throne shows up in the post credits and offers to fix the incursion with steven now she is playing clia and that is a very very big deal now we have to talk about what this means for the movie and more importantly what this is setting up in the future because you can't forget about kang the conqueror and the impending multiversal war and the events of this movie are setting up that event for the future so let's talk about the movie's ending who clia is and what does all this mean for the future of the mcu into all out war each variant fighting to preserve their universe and annihilate the others first of all it's important to remember that strange had to use the dark hold in order to dreamwalk and stop wanda from killing america chavez the darkhold kind of psychically poisons the people who use it it turned agatha into an energy vampire made sinister strange i mean sinister and the dark hold has a magical ability to erase wanda's arc from one division what she went from being okay with her grief and dealing with it to suddenly obsessing over finding her kids out in the multiverse and this was done after she used the darkhold so remember whenever a person dreams you're actually experiencing events from your other self in other universes which means that there's somewhere another universe where another ryan can fly and i'm really jealous of that guy so using the dark hole to dreamwalk ultimately leads to the collision of universes and the destruction of a reality but it's an important distinction that incursions are only caused by using the darkhold the darkhold is an unnatural power whereas america chavez can travel between universes without causing incursions because her power is natural marvel might ret con this because illuminati mr fantastic kind of says that by stephen traveling the multiverse he might create an incursion so i guess it's kind of like creating new timelines in loki stepping off your path created a nexus event which left unchecked could branch off into madness leading to another multiversal war look if i'm being honest the movie does a pretty poor job in explaining how incursions are actually created so i wouldn't be surprised if in the future marvel would just say that every multiversal travel has a risk of creating incursions that will probably simplify things slow down a little bit there's a few people in the room that don't understand not me i get it but for them maybe repeat it now marvel comic fans must have loved hearing the word incursion because they are a key part of the storyline secret wars from 2015 and that is probably where the mcu is headed now i'm going to talk about clia but at first i have to explain incursions and secret wars i am so excited to see this play out on the big screen so the incursion was a huge event in the comics that came to an epic culmination and the story's time runs out and secret wars so the way incursion works in the comics is that universes begin to collide and destroy each other this leads to a war between some universes that happens in the story time runs out but eventually the multiverse did collapse and that was the end of everything and that story is secret wars each variant fighting to preserve their universe and annihilate the others and this is where the mcu is heading after the events of multiverse of madness the world is going to end you always with the drama one thing i love about steven strange is that he is a self-made man he wasn't born with magical powers or the skills of a surgeon he had to study and earn those skills how did you get to reattach severed nerves and put a human spine back together bone by bone study and practice years of it you're not like that you don't know how to do anything i know i'm worthless but i don't want to be like that i want to learn that he created an incursion and now they're going to go off and fix it so here's clea well in the comics she's a very powerful sorceress and she was also steven's lover and wife at one point clia originates from the dark dimension yes that dark dimension now we do see a hint of the dark dimension inside cleo's portal and by the way she's actually dormammu's niece oh what something i'm sure they're going to change in the mcu because i doubt that like this dormammu has a family he's a being beyond time but he still has to wish his niece happy birthday it doesn't add up that's no cheerleader that's my niece becky and she's pissed clea has a long and complicated history with strange she is one of his main allies and occasionally his enemy clea is from a race of beans called the fall teen and that makes her very powerful and it's why she's one of the most skilled magic users in the comics she even became the sorcerer supreme on earth and in the dark dimension so she's a heavy hitter and her joining the mcu opens the door to so many cool possibilities for doctor strange in the future i mean for one thing having her as a love interest will finally help steven get over christine once and for all and this is the part where you apologize this is the part where you leave now based on the credit scene clia can travel in between universes without dreamwalking basically she has a power like america chavez well that's assuming clia is actually traveling between universes and not dimensions at this point it's kind of hard to tell which is which clea is aware of incursions and she says that there's a way to fix them so that means that whatever she and strange are going to do will tie into the upcoming multiversal crisis doctor strange and clear traveling between universes and stopping incursions is very similar to what happened in the time runs out story during that event stephen travels the multiverse and searched for ways to stop incursions he then meets and joins a group called the black priests these are beings who are trying to prevent the collapse of the multiverse and they save universes by destroying earth that cause incursions that's actually something that happens a lot in the lead-up to secret wars even the illuminati in the comics a team that dr strange was a part of ended up destroying other earths to save their own universe the grand calculus of the multiverse their sacrifice means infinitely more than their wives clea might actually play a similar role in the mcu to another major character in the secret wars arc and we are talking about black swan from earth 1365. she has a key role in the multiversal crisis her earth was destroyed by the black priest and later she explains to the illuminati how to prevent incursions see i can see clia doing that in the mcu meaning they will give clea black swan's story so basically something like cleo's homeworld getting destroyed by some cosmic beings that are attempting to bring balance to the multiverse heck i mean maybe that's what galactus is going to be in the mcu a cosmic force of nature that travels in between universes and feeds on earth that cause incursions to prevent the destruction of whole universes oh that's actually oh man that's actually a pretty awesome idea good job me i'm impressed the events of this story lead directly into secret wars and secret wars is gonna be epic and that's what doctor strange three could be the next big setup movie for the next in-game level event he and clea travel the multiverse trying to fix incursions and in the process they learn about this pending multiversal war and we could see a version of the black priest in the mcu though i'm hoping for something more like the multiversal avengers you are the guardians of the multiverse basically these are heroes from different universes who came together to stop incursions the incursions are such a huge threat that a group of heroes would have to come together to prevent them so it all makes sense and actually i won't be surprised if clia is already part of such a multiversal team and that strange is going to join them this is what we kind of thought the illuminati were going to be but they ended up just being a bunch of chumps who wanted to wipe the floor with and who knows maybe loki is going to be part of the team as well since he's also knee-deep in his own multiversal madness after what went down with he who remains and if you haven't seen loki don't worry we're going to go over that in just a second so based on how the movie explains it incursions occur when someone travels the multiverse using the darkhold but now all the darkhold books in every universe were destroyed send in more incursions right well not exactly that's where steven's third eye comes into it the third eye appears as a result of steven using the darkhold and as we know that evil chaos magic book corrupts anyone who uses it that's what happened to wanda agatha and sinister strange but sinister strange and mcu strange have that third eye confirming that our stephen has fused with the essence of the darkhold and marvel sure likes their evil doctor strange we have strange supreme sinister strange and now our strange they all got corrupted by dark magic question is will steven turn to the dark side like his other selves from the multiverse or will he find a way to use that power to save the multiverse [Music] wait what now at this point it's unclear how the third eye affects steven because it appears right before the movie ends and by the way that was a really sick cliffhanger i loved it i thought what a great sam raimi way to end the movie [Music] but then it gets immediately ruined in the credits scene whatever because now it seems like steven got under control without too much difficulty i'm sure that the third eye will have significance in the future and there was just like no time to explore properly in the credit scene so steven has a bit of the dark hold inside of him and the dark hole causes incursions and if the darkhold magic is inside steven that means that he is a walking talking incursion-making machine steven inadvertently made himself into one of the most dangerous people in existence this is going to make him a pivotal figure in secret wars but this could also mean that if stephen gets his third eye under control he could use that power to fix incursions which will explain why clia recruited him also steven had a third eye and the time runs out story which i keep mentioning so it all connects open your eye now there is something important about incursions in the comics an incursion happens when two earths collide which causes their respective universes to be destroyed one of the main ways to prevent the universes from being obliterated is to destroy one of those two colliding earths this is the reason why some earths went to war with each other this is similar to the multiversal war that miss minutes talks about in loki long ago there was a vast multiversal war nearly resulting in the total destruction of well everything and this is also how incursions kind of work in the mcu and if destroying earth's is the only way to save whole universes that explains the upcoming multiversal war that was hinted at in loki now the way i see it is that the incursions weakened the foundation of the multiverse the destruction of whole universes will begin a cataclysmic chain reaction earth will start colliding destroying entire realities these universes will go to war with one another to prevent their own destruction all of reality will hang in the balance and that is where kang comes in he who remains is gone and that allowed a spell to go wrong in spider-man no way home which leads to the entire multiverse going quite mad well he who remains created the sacred timeline which isolated the mcu universe from the rest of the multiverse but after silvi killed he who remains these timelines spread out of control the barriers between universes have been shattered and these incursions only make things worse but there's another constantly recurring event that further destabilizes the multiverse what the snap the illuminati faced thanos just like the avengers did so the snap might be something that has happened countless times in countless universes the cosmic energy of the infinity stones sent shock waves out that made reality unstable and it's possible that in these other realities avengers also time traveled taking infinity stones from their fixed points in time further destabilizing the multiverse like the ancient one warned the infinity stones create what you experience as the flow of time remove one of the stones and upload splits all of that makes it pretty clear that the multiverse is in serious trouble and kang is there to pick up the pieces and just in case you're not aware kang is a variant of he who remains he's the guy who's so evil that he who remains created the sacred timeline just to prevent him coming to power and what are you so afraid of me now kang will be aware of the incursions and colliding earth so he will conquer and destroy other universes to make sure that his universe comes out on top the problem is that there are other kang variants all over the multiverse who will do the same thing and that's how you get a multiversal war an infinite amount would be start another multiversal war and this brings us to secret wars secret wars is a lot so i'm going to do my best to explain it quickly and in a way that makes sense breathe focus keep it simple no no no doubt no doubt the incursion in the comics leads to a total collision and collapse of the multiverse now right before all of reality ends dr doom obtains the power of cosmic beings called the beyonders this power basically makes doctor doom into a god-like being as the whole multiverse is ending doctor doom salvages some of the remains of these universes and creates a new pocket reality called battle world it's basically a patchwork world that combines different universes together now on battle world doom rules as god emperor doom long story short eventually heroes from different universes rise against doom and in the end the multiverse is restarted and that is where the mcu is likely heading that's our next end game but instead of doctor doom creating battle world i think at the mcu it's going to be kang but like sidebar i really do hope that they will still do something great with doctor doom he's one of the best parts of the story and also just one of the most interesting characters in marvel comics so the mcu has to do something cool with him i agree like i love the idea like doctor strange teaming up with doctor doom as they try to stop the multiverse from ending but they fail because they just can't get on the same page i can totally see doom ready to sacrifice every universe just to save his own while strange attempts to save the whole multiverse and then kang just shows up and takes the power of the celestials or something and creates battle world to save what's left of the multiverse and that's actually an interesting direction for kang as a villain which is different from thanos the mad titan wanted to balance the universe while everybody tried to stop him kang wants basically what everybody else wants to save his universe i will do whatever it takes to ensure the survival of my timeline the survival of humanity this creates a very interesting conflict everybody wants the same thing but they all have their own way to achieve it and that is the cool thing about secret wars so basically avengers 5 or 6 or whatever it's going to be will be about all the heroes attempting to prevent the multiverse collapse they have to go to war with other universes to protect their own universe from being destroyed but then the big shocking cliffhanger is that the multiverse war prevented everyone from saving reality and everything ends i mean that's even more shocking than infinity war's ending then the next avengers movie is an adaptation of sacred wars where kang creates battle world and in his new reality everybody worships him like a god and heroes from different universes must rise against him and start the multiverse again and that restart of the multiverse will end up being a type
