DJI Mini 2 Range test - How far can it go?

radio check one two one two can you hear me adam come in adam i can hear you loud and clear ken [Applause] hey it's your buddy ken and your pal adam and he drove all the way here to union city tennessee from murfreesboro murfreesboro and that's what like three hours away about three hours yeah man well thank you for helping me today it was my pleasure adam here is gonna be a visual observer so he's gonna you're gonna hike about a half mile away yep bring the radio and the camera now i know what you're saying you're saying aren't you two a little bit too close together with all this cova stuff no no all the cove there's so much wind is just blowing the cove that way so we're cool right so this is the mavic is the one there's so much alike i can not feel a weight difference although the two is supposed to be slightly heavier even though it has better range and better flight time so cameras they look pretty much the same except 4k 2.7 k the propellers are still as flimsy as the one but that's for weight saving purposes okay first the mini one or the mavic mini adam do you think you can see the mini at the halfway point in between you and i all right i'm recording at the highest resolution possible with the one that is 2.7 k all right taking off into the wind and heading your way adam and more it's a little wobbly fighting the wind it's it's going to run out of battery i'm sure oh man hopefully once it gets [Music] in front of the trees the wind will calm down a little bit i'm going to keep it low to the ground to begin with so that adam can see it easier and so that i am out of the wind that tends to happen at higher altitudes [Music] i'm not in sport mode i'm in just regular flying mode i'm having a sd card malfunction even though it says it's recording but i can't stop now getting a little bit of signal interference it would appear strong wind warning oh dear lower altitude immediately okay you got it adam i'm gonna have to skim along the ground because i'm getting some wind warnings i'm directly in between the two paths let me know when you get eyes on it i can still see it on my end man stopped recording i'm trying to keep the antennas perpendicular because that's what everybody says when we do these which makes sense strong wind warning again signal interference [Music] come in adam come in adam let me know what's going on buddy say again say again weak signal weak signal i'm losing the the video do you see it aircraft has been disconnected do you see it adam [Applause] okay because i am no longer in control of it yeah i think i'm at the limit i think i'm at the limit the distance is uh 4461 feet i'm headed back otherwise it'll return to home on its own oh this is this is nerve wracking for sure okay i see you i'm gonna fly over to you and land in front of you landing did it land okay excellent i'm gonna stop recording on my end all right and now with the mini two all right oh so much smoother and it's quieter oh my goodness i'm impressed already all right heading on down it might be a little faster either that or the wind died down oh my goodness oh my goodness solid signal beautiful video wow so impressive all right coming up on a thousand feet it's hard to believe that this is a teeny tiny drone it's so stable kind of makes you wonder why they even put out the mini one to begin with they should have done this to start with the resolution is so good even in my little phone here i can see adam oh my goodness right on track and i know there's a lot of wind up there it's just slicing right through it let's dive bomb at them [Music] oh the confidence this gives you it's just amazing there he goes i'm gonna go up a little higher the elevation changes between this overpass and where he is so the height is a little misleading now we're getting into some wind here over 3000 feet away it was right around here where the mini ones started crapping out wasn't it [Applause] there's a vehicle coming your way by the way you see them you still got eyes on it now his limit of sight is coming up so i'm gonna go up a little higher we're getting a little pixelization coming up 5000 feet trying to keep it not weak signal just antennas pointing the antennas at it i'm going to push it to return to home getting some pixelization this is truly amazing for the size drone it is i'm gonna go up a little higher if i can [Music] because i went around that bend there's trees in between me and the drone there we go that fixed it wow just wow so impressive wow okay going higher i'm not going to go any further than this because there could be cars but just over 7000 feet that's an active road so wow i'll go up a little bit higher even though the wind is going to be crazy up there still have good signal no wind warnings or anything i'll go up high enough where you can see where i am you see where i am right there okay adam i know you probably can't see it much more than a pixel anymore i'm turning around heading back i still have control it's it's amazing it's amazing oh yeah that hockey stick is great i'm gonna put it into sport mode see how fast we can go in sport mode yeah it doesn't seem to care about the wind at all i'm gonna go ahead and do an orbit of the discovery center real quick before i come back putting it back into normal mode [Music] if you live near union city and you have kids this is a great place to bring the kids [Music] heck it's a great place to bring an adult all right you can start hiking back towards me i'm going to sport mode it back up here i'm going to buzz him [Music] adam was super nice not only did he drive a super long distance to help me but he also walked a super long distance to help me put in normal mode see if i can't sneak up on him because this is this is such a quiet drone let's see if i can't sneak up on yeah he recorded [Laughter] [Music] [Music] right [Music] hello new friend did you have a good trip look at that there's probably a good 10 to 12 mile an hour wind happening right now still plenty of batteries i think i love you mini 2 i know i love you wow just wow so the question now is what am i going to do with the one [Laughter] here's the price of the two which is reasonable for what it does here's how much you can get the one for now and so what i was thinking maybe there's someone out there that would want to buy my mini one this has been in so many videos doesn't the value go up because oh yeah the great ken heron used it right did i just call myself the great ken that's terrible anyway if you want to buy this the mini one with a gpc case and several batteries and adam's autograph that definitely lowers the value now how much would you pay what do you think 300 yeah 300 bucks it's yours think anybody will buy it i hope so me too it's just it's so light yeah here catch i'm glad you caught it back over here no i'm not going through it go ahead [Laughter] adam thank you for your help
