hey everyone dogmatix everyone here and welcome to dogmatic DIY you have say hit a drill or other cordless things like this that you have batteries that are dead and they won't charge well what i'm gonna do today instead of buying new batteries which are expensive and especially like here in canada to buy replacement batteries or like on a box for two batteries but i can buy the whole drill a newer drill with a 20 volt instead a better battery a better drill for the same prices just bind to your replacement batteries now I do have three batteries right two of them will not charge so I'm going to show you how to get this battery back up and running okay so let's get started [Music] I'm gonna show you this is a working battery as you can see and this one there's a dead battery so now I'm gonna show you what you can do so take two pairs of scissors I got a couple I never throw away the scissors because I can use them in the shop instead of that you get the cheap scissors that break the handles what you're gonna do is you see in here term two terminals positive and a negative so I'm gonna touch the to Center this one scissor on these and the other end the scissors on these okay so we're gonna go like so let's see if I can do this with well-doing okay so I got that says are there so you see how they're touching terminals there I'm gonna do this hopefully I'm touching them on both here looks like I'm touching arm on both okay so just like so as you can see this is your dare what its gonna do it's gonna take power from this battery that's working and put it into this batter that's not seems like what it does is once the battery gets a certain age or it stops charging that it might have too little of power in it to start up the charger so what I'm going to do is I'm gonna leave this sit for a minute and then we'll come back okay so it's been probably a minute or two so I'm gonna take these off and now as you can see I'm gonna put this onto the charger now there you go see how it flashes slow like this well that's not real slow but if it flashes whoa double that speed it's not gonna work that means it's dead so then you might have to put the scissors back on for a little bit longer okay so see how I store doing a flash to see how fast it's flashing so if you look at right on the front of my pack here says it was just normal flashing it's packs charging if light stays on packs charge if it's like a dash and then they're fast dot it's a hot cold pack delay that what that means is that you haven't had it plugged in for a while sitting in the cold garage or whatever and you just plug it in and then throw in the battery right away you'll get that now see this health facets flashing all those dots it says replace pack or forget that two dots and then it disappears for a second it goes off then its problem with the power line so since this flashed real quick here I'm going to throw the scissors back on and then we'll test it again okay now you see it's steady red which means it's charged so what I did is my morrow showing you earlier it was flashing fast so I took this off put the scissors back on it for about five minutes and now I haven't tested it yet so let's test it okay as you can see that earlier in the video that was a yellow top and then this one was the black top that was show do that worked so no it works this black on the black one nothing Burks remember I told you I had three batteries and two were dead I did another one as well so let's check that third one and as you can see instead of the black one so that one there wasn't very fast but at least it's something better nothing you know put that back on the charger even though it's done hung and I let it sit well like overnight I'm not sure if it'll charge anymore but it was completely dead earlier and now it's got power don't know how long yet I'll try it out and see how long it lasts but at least now you save some money and now I got three again I said over just one and as long as I keep them all charged I can keep working so if you got any questions leave it in a comment section below hit that like subscribe button hit that Bell to be notified when I post another video and we'll talk to you later [Music]
