be ordained a deacon come forward present most reverent father holy mother church asks you to ordain this man our brother to the responsibility of the deaconant do you know him to be worthy after inquiry among the christian people and upon the recommendation of those responsible i testify that he has been found worthy relying on the help of the lord god and our savior jesus christ we choose this man our brother for the order of the day connect thanks be to god [Applause] dear beloved brothers and sisters since this our son who is your relative and friend is now to be advanced to the order of deacons consider carefully the nature of the rank in the church to which he is about to be rest strengthened by the gift of the holy spirit he will help the bishop and his priest in the ministry of the word of the altar and of charity showing himself to be a servant to all as a minister of the altar he will proclaim the gospel repay the sacrifice and distribute the lord's body and blood to the faithful furthermore it will be his duty at the bishop's direction to exalt believers and unbelievers alike and to instruct them in the holy doctrine he will preside over public prayer again in glory to judge a living and and his kingdom will have no end i believe in the holy spirit the lord the giver of life who proceeds from the father and the son who with the father and the son is adored and glorified who has spoken through the prophets i believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church i confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and i look forward to the resurrection the owner of your majesty may profit us for salvation holy father whose son chose to wash the disciples faith and so set us an example except we pray the oblation of our service and grant that the year we'll have a double ordination with a blessing with blessings for both your dickens by connect ordination i know it has been a long journey of faith since you started initiation here is in kota kinabalu so we send them both to kkk in 2014 and then from 2015 to 2021 last year they finished and complete completed the study in saint peter's college coaching so i believe that this is a challenging and a call that demands both of you who are working before to make a commitment a leap of faith so i thank you both henry davi for your courage in taking this leap of faith and with their company accompaniment of the seminary formatters who are here with you together with some of your classmates seminarians saint peter's collection here the seminarians with their company accompaniment of seminary for matters you trusted the lord and through your commitment and perseverance today we celebrate this vocation i also believe that your seminary formation and pastoral assignment to various parishes have equipped will to give your whole life to serve the faithful in the archdiocese of kuching now henry is currently doing pastoral assignment in our lady queen of peace and david is nearby here in holy spirit london and despite knowing what happened during the last two years because of pandemic many churches are temporarily close but we are glad that today we are able to celebrate the diconet ordination in both your home parishes with community with congregation though it is limited to so we pray that henry as you follow the example of the word of god speak lord your servant islam listening as you choose have chosen the team listen to the word of god as the lord guide you and may god bless you for your ministry ahead and i would like to thank above for your parents i'd like to thank steven jinbe and monika nonna i visited you a few times in a campang and i know that they are ready and they have willingly offer up this son who was working as a very at a very comfortable job as a teacher and you bless him for entering the seminary [Music] catholic so we want to thank once again join me to thanks steve and jinbe and monica nona for their generosity in humbled to the mercy of our almighty god who is in heaven for giving me this opportunity to stand before you at this hour of the day i want to thank each and every one of you for making this day a success how can i put into words just how blessed i feel and have felt this past few weeks from the overwhelming love and support i have received from each and every one of you thank you thank you for all prayers and for your effort to be here today when i sat down to write this speech i wondered how can i possibly thank all the people who have helped me to get through this point in my life in a short span of a few minutes but most importantly i would like to take this moment to express my thanksgiving to god the almighty because i believe god has played a major part in my vocation and through him i continue to descend and give myself to him [Music] for this i truly thankful to you almighty god i would also like to express my appreciation to his grace our bishop simon paul for ordering me today throughout my formation you have encouraged me in guiding me and without ceasing you always challenge me without you realize it and ask me to be more humble each and every new day and for that i must say thank you i also would like to take this opportunity to take his grace ash bishop emeritus john ha who accepted me to the seminary i still remember when i had the opportunity opportunity to meet you face to face i have thrown you with so many questions and one of the questions was regarding my age but you calmly answered me saying henry this is god's time not yours anymore trust and have faith in him and because of that simple answer i just give myself let myself to be molded by god and very thank you for that and not to forget also father patrick hang who endlessly helped me and guide me especially during preparing me for this event i think without him it would be a success event for us for me today and once again thank you father patrick heng [Music] and to director of the seminary and my retreat master father nicholas earned thank you for keeping your promise to journey and accompany me throughout my formation that is your promise when i first express my desire to him as my rector here in san steven because i said i'm willing but i'm afraid so this is a little advice or promise i would say that he gave to me to all my formatters namely father francis dakun father pauling father gilbert laschus and all of my lecturers thank you very much for your help and support thank you for being patient with me when i was stubborn encouraging me when i doubted my vocation firm when i was wrong and affirming when i was right and also not to forget father eric jerome and father vargas lopez who have helped and guide me in the early stage of my formation and also i will not forget my rector during my initiation year father michael madrid thank you father for helping me especially during the first three months of my formation in iy back in the year 2014 my sincere thanks also goes to my spiritual director which is in iy father frederick and here in the seminary of saint peter college father augustine jp thank you you have patiently listen to me all this while thank you and thank you so very much father frederick and father jp and also not to forget father jerome julian and father joseph chai for their guidance and encouragement through the words and action and also i will not will not forget the advice of my senior in my seminary father galvin [Music] because when i was in first year philosophy he is the one who always advise me when i ask him question he is the one who always helped and guide me in my studies and i think he won't remember or will not remember what he had told me once he said studied is not only for the sake of grading of marx but it is one way for us seminarian praising the lord and thank you for that and also a very special thanks to father adrian cole who had journeyed with me for more than three years even before i entered the seminary and i believe he will continue to journey and guide me thank you valerian and to all my fellow seminarians what a journey thank you for being brothers to me over the years i'm grateful for all what we have shared throughout my time in dismantling in a special way i would like to thank all my classmates who constantly support and love me and help in many ways i believe they also know that each and every one of us in my my classmate for example you are all very special to me i would like also to thank all of you who are coming here to show your support and love friends from saratoga baton surrey amman even syrian kuching from bao and also from lundu thank you thank you for your presence and for your great support my sincere grateful also to all committees under the guidance of father peter listen and our ppc chairman mr david dissam i know you have worked so very hard for this event and also i would like to thank all the people i've met and work with in different parishes and ministries the many and varied experiences of success or even failure in the ministering are invaluable lesson i bring with me as i engage in odin ministry to young men and women out there if you are urged to serve the lord be not afraid sometimes we hear the calling but we go the wrong way as what samuel did in the first reading today uh in the first reading or the prophet samuel did before this when god called him however if we constantly let ourselves to be led by the spirit of god he will lead you to him this is one of the reason i chose the team for my ordination today speak lord your servant is listening i was one of them who doubted my calling and if you my brothers and sisters out there who are still doubting your calling as what as bishop emeritus john hart told me so now i tell you it is god's time have faith and trust in him and so now please allow me to thank my family especially my dad mr steven jimbei and my mom met monica
