Are you afraid of death??? I've reached where people don't fear death On the contrary... they celebrate it Welcome everyone to Mexico in Mexico city On the 2nd of November the celebration starts The biggest celebration in Mexico starts... the day of the dead also known as .... This is their holiday everyone celebrates and joins the parade behind me Food, sweets, and kids.... so joyful welcome Riyadh people Amjed spent 2 years in Mexico and he'll show us around (Boiled Corn ) = 0.7 USD Corn is everywhere here. Mayonaise Cheese and Red pepper Corn here is called " Elote " I got pepper in my eyes.. tissues!!... tissues!! My eyes are so hot that my feet hurts The best way to eat it.. They say pepper cleans the eyes.... Just Kidding But this celebration has a much deeper meaning to the Mexicans - That's why we're heading to... - to the city of Mixkik - We're in Mixkik.. The Mexicans believe that their dead goes to a place like heaven Called "Mictlan" On this date the when the sun sets "Mictlan" gates open for the dead And they can return to Earth But not all of them can.. Why can't they though? to return back people need to remember you and hold your pictures But the trouble maker gets forgotten by his family and with no pictures, they can't return back Until on day they vanish from ", Mictlan" This is the cemetery and there're lots of people Can you hear the bells ring... this means its Sun set.. And the dead are arriving here from 'Mictlan" it's a long dark and exhausting road They pass through many evil spirits to reach here When they arrive all they can only see the candles and this orange petal That guides the way The dead might bring some evil spirits with them That's why they burn some Incense, Similar to our Incense back home This will push away evil spirits This friendly guy offered me some candy... It's very delicious - خورخي كيف حالك؟ - تمام today all the children and the elderly wait here for their dead - صح ؟ - اي صح They're enjoying their time Each grave fits 5 bodies So you see the whole family wait for their grandson, grandfather and their cousins They put and drow many skulls to remind them of death Some paint their faces so they look similar to their dead when they arrive After the dead have arrived,, they go and receive them at home The people here are celebrating, all kind of booths around here .. they sell everything Am very intrigued to buy,,, he sells Tacos with grilled beef Wait... put some sauce. The beef is so tinder They call this Taco Its very popular here Spicy The bread is made by cornflour This soup comes with it. Similar to any beef soup They just add rice and wheat "Rico'' means delicious Come close blondie .. come close blondie very delicious Here the word ' blond ' means anything pretty In this day the children collect candy and money I'll give her some and this candy She is so shy We'll enter this house.. This orange petal route from the cemetery to the house So the dead can see his way back to the house All the family gathered here waiting for their dead to arrive From the cemetery, the dead will come directly to the house untile they reach this spot The dead platform But why food and water? Because the dead will be so damn tired they'll find food and water waiting for them But not any kind of food. They put their favorites one cousin used to love " Cola " And Grandfather used to like smoking also some chicken, Rice, and Mole They made this for the dead to relaxe This Cake represents the circle of life We're born and grow, untile one day we die This bread is special for the day of the dead with special flavors and scents and it's shaped like a skull to represent death it's getting hot Sadly, they have a dead child so they put some candy for him We're not afraid of death Because it's real and will come one day We could all die at any moment Death reminds us to enjoy every moment and live the moment Enjoy every moment like it's your last But be careful and do good deeds Because in the after life Your deeds will follow you They offer me some 'Tamalis" I don't know it but let's try The exterior is corn shell it's made with Cornflour and some Jam and cheese Delicious It is a dessert prepared especially for this holiday They told me that they eat this food the day after Some say it becomes tasteless because the dead took it all I need to try it to believe it Everyone sees what he believes Gracias... it means Thanks right? Mexicans are awesome,,, I offered some cash They refused to take any as they wanted to show me their generosity At the dawn .. the families say goodbyes to the dead As they will return to "Mictlan" on sun rise This tradition goes back thousands of years during the ' Mayans " and other tribes that lived here The Spanish were smart and merged Christianity with this tradition and converted all Mexicans to christians It is the most exotic tradition I've seen in my life Heard about it in a while and wanted to share it with you Like the Subscribe to the channel And share the video everywhere Bye..
