Dark Souls 3: Late Birthday Dex Invasions (113 Days ➔ Elden Ring)

doing some decks and i couldn't help but pass up the birthday decks meme people told me to use it so you know i had to commit here is the build for today i'm trying to think of what weapons i have here uh okay yeah i have an ultra i got my lothic long spear that i was trying out last time the washing pole happy day after your birthday thank you chuck hopefully my surprise gift can get to you today surprise gift oh no what's the surprise gift i'm kind of scared um there's the stats there's the gear that i'm actually wearing happy a happy dex day to you as well uh yeah i want that closed there we go i pixel just lots of time in the game honestly man like the more time you spend playing a game you enjoy the better you get it i wasn't always like decent at this game dark souls 2 kicked my ass the first time i played it it was uh it was a tough first playthrough but i actually i loved it so much that's why i got so into the soul series thank you man slinky thank you all right let's not forget to put on our counter vestige button [Music] yeah i don't know what my best builds are honestly like what i perform best with uh dex is really fun though because i utilize katanas more uh same with curved swords i don't use them much on my strength or quality builds compared ah this is so weird i could have sworn that in my last stream i fought this exact dude at the beginning of the stream but there's no way right can that actually happen does that be right away no huh that should beat him get him though he's got high bleed resistance i guess he's still alive good fight there ass buckler he didn't bleed i'm really surprised usually if i hit someone with like an r1 and then i uh get one of the weapons off after like the second one and then i combo oh interesting my favorite dex weapon [Music] like i guess i enjoy the rapier class as a weapon because i enjoy backstab fishing um but i guess i don't like their moves at the most it's kind of boring so like they're my favorite backstabbing tool but the katanas with the weapon arts like right now the fray blade is very fun to me it has two useful weapons some good mix-ups katanas are kind of not used too much so i feel like it's it's interesting at least um other than that i guess the sell swords are also really fun i love do wheeled weapons just because they have the highest like dps if you space and punish properly so and they're fun they're like that was definitely one of my first weapons that i enjoyed using yo chris thank you man i appreciate it i love doing the streams actually so that works out any thoughts on new world i've seen gameplay on it um i'm not sure i've had a few friends play and they say it's a bit it's a bit souls like and they've enjoyed it so far but i'm not sure looks okay yo thank you enrique i appreciate the b days washing pole washing pool is really fun too just because it has the parry you know the fray blade doesn't have i guess it has the cool weapon arts but it lacks the their cost ability cell swords are always fun whack phantom whack summoned thank you tipper 27 level 27 over here that is true hello whack so we got a sell sword user and uh a claymore vest is that claymore that is claymore you think i'd recognize one of my favorite weapons i hate dodging that on a bridge just because sometimes you roll through it and it'll still hit you you know i don't know it's like it's tough it zones well yeah i knew the sun bro would try to chime in because i was hitting the host a lot of phantoms will do that like when they're uh when their host is being combo wow that hit me uh i go in for the punish because i'm locked into a combo kind of like lets you like bait them in pretty easily [Music] trying to figure out like his range on me because the other guy arched me from very far oh that was an accident i'm not a practice here haven't played in two days okay oh my god they have such range specifically this guy i'm not going to fight him with cell swords it's too late yeah yeah or you know what we'll do this i need something to counter his range he's so passive but the host died you're so passive dude geez okay imagine dying to this what the hell that was weird i actually i didn't have any cake for my birthday i had a lot of coffee and donuts i'm more of a i don't know i haven't been loving cake too much uh i hope they have more like i don't know miracles are good but they definitely need more offensive ability other than lightning arrow that one's kind of op but it sounds like a good birthday right i don't know i've eaten so much cake in my well i went this morning and picked up a keyboard actually so i got up kind of earlier today isn't sharp better for dex at around 60 dexterity it is but a fire dagger outperforms 40 uh decks on a build by a little bit i mean if you could bundle your dagger and you're just sitting with it out it might even out i forget i i know i did a test for that a while ago but i'm pretty sure even then the fire dagger usually wins out thank you topher i appreciate it man a music keyboard no just i actually i got a 60 keyboard i find them less uh desk space consuming and i don't really use the f keys much on my keyboard or the number pad [Music] so i've been a fan of the 60 keyboards lately yeah at like 60 decks we go yeah what the heck wait where's mike i talk about using my keyboard but now it's not working oh did the wire like jiggle yeah oh i loosened the wire when i moved the oh okay okay oh and the hose died on his own that's okay oop all right my bad i like picked up the keyboard as i was talking about it i was like why is my record not working and the host resolved his own issues by himself that's okay that worked out in the end for me i'm okay with that i do have stuff to set up the software for it though i literally just plugged it in like before a stream so depends on the game i love keyboard for all gun games i don't mind the movement actually if i learn dark souls 3 on keyboard i wouldn't have minded it at all it's just that i learned uh the first two years that i played on ps4 so when i when i moved to pc i wasn't gonna just try to relearn it on keyboard since i have it like embedded in my brain you know this is a jojo reference i still haven't watched jojo actually that's an anime that i need to watch styles [Applause] hey kevin thank you man how was pedro if you learn it like that it's i think there's like benefits to both really not many like there's really not a huge difference between either of them i would say in terms of performance on this bit harder oh oh he died so slow yeah i think it i mean there's some benefits to keyboard and mouse like uh i talked about this once before if you if you go in your menu a lot like you like swapping and parrying and doing fancy things in dark souls keyboard might be a little bit better because you can uh run and stop running whenever you want while you're in your menu on controller to do that you have to like exit your menu and hold circle and then go back into it so it's not as convenient sadly but it really does go down to preference there's not huge differences poor gleb he was lagging a bit he kind of deserved the fall over saber if i had to pick one weapon forever what would it be um probably my claymore it's not like the best weapon but it does really well in a lot of invasion scenarios if i need hyper armor it's there for me it's not like the easiest to chase down but i fish with it pretty well you can play like passive with it also that's an all-arounder you know it's never like top tier but it's an all-arounder weapon i would say let's go with the hollow the hollower saber yes that's what i wanted to say the followers no the hollow slayer i can't english um let's go up here the holy baby more really the great star class is just like comfy to me for the most part oh does it mean i didn't i don't use the flamberg much and when i do i don't really use it one-handed [Music] yeah although you know to be honest if you do fight someone using a great setting you play pretty passive like they kind of have to swap because it's pretty easy to dodge a claim or on reaction you know if their entire goal is just surviving and not trying to fight you like it look at this it has like no chase down that's like so easy to dodge hey what's up guys hello blaze thank what sword i was using at the time but i'm wearing the black iron chest piece cathedral night gauntlets black iron leggings and then i'm wearing the exile helm but on my screen it's uh retextured to look like this for me like my channel logo but uh it's just the exam mask to everybody else holoslayer is good it's always it's never not been good i just i don't find it works well on most of my builds this one is kind of made for it though teach you how to do it but honestly i learned just why watching youtube tutorials when i was younger it was like a youtube channel called the backyard ninjas and they honestly just like threw stuff outside they weren't like super technical at the time but it helped me a lot it's more the channel logo biz hop but yeah i like it i do like it it looks a lot better than the regular uh elite knight helmet [Music] up rip it's the worst when they go into the boss after you've put on tears you're just like damn i'm just chilling here yeah see hollow slayer is it does consume less stamina so you know what if you're if you're rocking uh oh a lower stamina bill that's a that's a good great sword alternative actually it's our ones take up much less than like a claymore like i get six swings at 30 stamina i get that much at like 34 where the claymore so it's pretty nice it's like a little bonus i i prefer the claymore swing patterns though they're much comfier i know dude we're getting so close to elder ring actually i keep saying three months it's a little bit more than three months but like you know it's almost three months yeah you're right paradox actually wait um dark souls 2 has that the mirror knight isn't a dlc weapon i think or a dlc area the mirror knight's part of the base right or am i wrong i only ever played scholar the first sin so i don't know but i'm pretty sure that one's not a dlc i think i know mine's yesterday that's why it's called late expert late birthday decks get it my birthday was yesterday i you man i appreciate it oh the coffee it fuels me oh man millwood bow that's right remind me i do have to update my deck spell to have 19 strength because i do want to be able to use the millwood it's just so fun in certain situations even if it's weaker on a dex build you know it's a fun tool beerus oh no are you a force on your built-in though i don't even know that that's funny uh well the hollow slayer is a quality build weapon but it does do well on a decks as well because when you two hand you get good strength bonuses and if you have 40 dexterity you have the soft cap so it's a very good decks great sword as well it'd be optimal at 40 40 but you could make it work pretty much the same at like 26 strength 40 decks that's true the oney great bow is good i wouldn't have the millwood blast but that works i use this charm i don't have 17 uh faith for philly noise chime so i can't use the weapon art anyway [Music] maybe this way oh i do hear him is that a seed or i know i've done challenge runs i've done like so many challenge runs before i even got into the pvp ah kevin i'm lost i'm gonna go up though i'm assuming he's above me yeah he's definitely above me that was so weird i was so level 150 in dark souls 2 that's what everyone said was like a hot pvp level just because they uh needed to level their adaptability to be able to roll properly they are though the rocks the right i'm learning yeah like meta started at 120 and then people wanted to be 125 and now most people are like 133 it's pretty much anywhere from 120 to 134 actually i don't know that always confuses me if you use the uh stat calculator thing 134 can actually invade 120 so i don't know why we all go 133 i do it too though for me it's just a little bit of the ocd i like the number 133 more 134 just yeah i i won't spoil i guess i got some pretty good endings in that uh one of the dudes on kara's story line died at the end for me said but i i everyone else was survived so i think i did pretty good hits me i won't know just matters what soul level they're in what other souls likes do you recommend hmm souls likes not from prom soft right like not sakira this game's kind of similar to souls that i've enjoyed damn that's tough i have played quite a bit of them and they always kind of like lack compared to souls for me like the souls games themselves so it's hard for me i'm very biased i love online and none of them ever have that i don't know why but they never do boxton i've been using this katana a lot let's use a long spear here you know i don't i don't use this much what come again because like it's just a bad spot for the pvp but everywhere else in that area is pretty good do i ever feel like it's automatically gonna be better um i wouldn't say better but they're trying to build upon what they already have for dark souls so yeah i think it'll be pretty damn good [Music] yeah yo other than that one soulless you're right that one knew what he was doing with the free aim curved swords they just they're so strong compared to other types of weapons honestly like they have such mix-up potential you know oh it's kind of nuts when you really think of like how you can really okay you have so many other nice do with them compared to like great swords especially like murky a lot of them are just so insane compared look at that range you know maybe it's just because goddard and dk have like this really weird excess range you know that like a lot of other swords don't have pk can really get in there straight starts too though like you can't like roll at them that's really one of the problems i find when you're fighting like good pass with straight sword murky on like a bad connection is beyond terrible though like it has the the worst range that i've seen out of most weapons bk is really high too but it's up there it depends on your latency too like it i don't know it's tough jaw [Music] it's really the the straight swords r2 as well is like one of the around you you'll hit them if they panic roll away you'll probably miss but if you do land that follow-up r1 you get another full combo off it so it's pretty safe to use and it's hard for them to even when you go to backstab someone there's this window behind them right think of it like a little half circle and if you're on the edges of the circle you'll still get the backstab grab attempt but you'll never get the backstab so let's say you did that he could run around behind you and backstab you it can still happen uh it's just a lot easier the higher latency it is to do that without the backstab actually going through so you could it's just you'd have to be very unlucky to be the guy backstabbing like the furthest left or right corner for that to happen uh any pvp news um not really other than that there is invasions there is uh optional pvp as in i don't know if it's arena or something they just labeled it as something different so it's probably like an arena for player online they didn't really say much about the legacy dungeons which is basically like think of think of elder ring being open world right as they've explained but they also have these legacy dungeons which are like areas in dark souls like imagine the main area of like irithyll behind me that's like a legacy dungeon they didn't really specify on that and you can't use your mount in those areas so i think based on what they said i think you'll be able to be invaded no matter what in the legacy dungeons but not in the open world without it without a summon if that makes sense that seems like the way they worded it because they didn't just flat out say can invade a solo dude they use like with the wording of the the mount so that's just my and mine and lost speculation though we just they souls 3 came out all right i do some fight clubs and i'd stream them on twitch i wasn't like i wasn't even trying to do like content or anything i just thought it was cool that people would come in and join the fight club you know uh and that would get like like lower viewers you know like maybe 10 to 15 and 20 maybe when the game came out it was kind of popular and i didn't make content then so uh eventually i got more into dark souls after the first year and i started uploading videos on youtube like about builds because people would ask me like what my stats are and stuff when i fight them because i did a lot of one combo builds and stuff so i posted those and then i i started posting like weapon reviews and stuff and then i streamed on youtube and i had like i think a hundred viewers instantly so like the the viewer difference from uploading daily was pretty immense so i recommend it if you can if you're looking to try that out i think it helps a lot um i have no idea who these since sometimes i haven't been using hornet lately i'm like used to my crits doing like 500 600 maybe uh so you use a fire dagger if you don't have any stat investment into it so like i have no faith no hint right so the fire dagger is better like if you have a chaos dagger you want into faith stat points like you really use whatever dagger has the highest uh damage though like ar that's the best get that r1 and then you can start the combo again it's it's ridiculous i did it to some a few people earlier so if you're ever getting combo'd by the cell swords roll away definitely roll away don't roll like buy them beside them around them let's see oh yeah using perseverance resets boys a lot of weapon arts do but perseverance is the easiest to have oh yeah i only do it i mean if someone has a period shield i play very differently really depends getting better at pvp yeah honestly if you just watch anybody pvp in this game and you pick up some of the tricks that work for them uh yeah just adopt them into how you play and you'll keep growing getting better at the game i think it's like that with most games too my dark souls ones by hand are good times very good times 140 p 4p should be able to watch it higher than that damn do i ever forget enemies can hurt you not really but i noticed when a seat is active usually lately ah the claimer's not so strong actually like it's not it's nowhere near a top tier weapon it's just great swords are very they're very good for fighting outnumbered i would say in a sense like you have hyper armor um they're very easy to react to though like let's say you're trying to chase someone down right and finish them off a great sword is terrible it's terrible oh you mean for pve oh just cuz like the pve gets staggered by great swords pretty easily i would say that's why it's a good pve weapon but like when you chase someone down to finish them off like you know rapier spears katanas they're all better great stars have like no chase down ability so they're like a good base but terrible to finish people off um let's go with the katana actually i had a friend who played dark souls 1 and he had a rough time because he kept going to the the catacombs first which i bet happens to a lot of people yeah the reason the claim where i think is so popular is because it can be infused with pretty much anything and do like solid damage no matter what it could be a dex build with a claymore like a dark build like lightning infused build it's just so versatile so it's like a good weapon a lot of the other like really really good weapons
