Dallas SWAT: Ex-Boyfriend Breaks In Through Dog Door | A&E

Looks like we have a barricaded person where the suspect allegedly broke into his girl-- ex-girlfriends home, assaulted her. I'm not sure if he had any weapons or not. OK, were you at the House? OK, so what ended up happening was he went to the front door, rear door. She wouldn't let him in either way, and he actually ended up crawling in through a dog door and made it inside the house. The fight started. She tried to call 911. OK. Does he have any guns in there? Anything that could hurt us? OK. This is a gas-- a gas gun. You'll be our gas person back in the back. OK. I also have the gas back in case we have to induce tear gas in the residence. [dog barking] We understand there's one more phone that is still working that he didn't rip out. [phone ringing] Hello? You there? I don't know if you heard me or not, but the-- the phone disconnected. [phone ringing] Haven't seen anything from the suspect or heard anything or seen any movement. Trying to loud hail him from the APC, seeing if we can get a response out of him. This is Dallas Police Department's SWAT. We have the house completely surrounded. We just want you to come outside and surrender and talk to us. When he talks to about his daughter, how does he view her-- his daughter? OK, so it seems like he's a pretty good dad when he is around? Thank you very much. Bye bye. We know you care about your daughter. Come outside so you can see her. If we have to come inside you will not have the opportunity to see your daughter. Let's go ahead and end this. You're not going anywhere until you come outside and talk to us. Right now we're getting a throw phone set up. Let's do the less lethal. 6-3, cover. We have an option of throwing a phone inside the location and ringing it and, through loud hailing, ask him to answer it. [glass breaking] Yeah, there you go. There you go. We've got it. From the back. 3, 2. [phone ringing] In the back bedroom, there is a phone. If you pick it up, you can talk directly to us. We can hear your side of the story, so we can end this. Right now it's a sit and wait. We've just got to kind of wait to see if he picks up the phone. [phone ringing] Pick up the phone. Turn around. Time is running out. We've been here about four hours. They haven't been able to contact the suspect via phone or just by the loud hail. I think the entry team is going to slow search the location now, taking one room at a time. Hang tight. Hang tight. Hold it. OK, so I have an attic. How do I get into the attic? The garage. Garage? Now they have to search the attic. Suspect may be hiding there. All right. You ready? Basically it's real dangerous because the first thing the suspect sees is your head. Up there. It's right here. It's right here. [chatter] Clear! The mystery has been solved. He's not here. Oh. I guess he can fit through the dog door. One way to spend your Sunday. We didn't find anything. Our case is pretty much secure. Searched the attic. Searched the crawl space. Did primary and secondary search of the residence. The suspect apparently got out before patrol set up the perimeter, so it happens. Some weekend. Complainant got out. She's OK, so we're good. He'll be arrested sooner or later. The system's going to win. It just didn't win today. [music playing]
