[Music] pray for us amen jesus is the fruit of thy [Music] lord amen amen sinners for us amen forgive us our sins save us especially those who are mostly in thy mercy amen the fifth lord's mystery is the coronation of our blessed mother queen of heaven and earth [Music] who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil mother of amen pray for us sinners [Music] [Music] jesus amen [Music] of jesus is mary grace hail mary sinners creator of and both jesus amen forgive us our sins to heaven jesus has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life [Music] may they rest in peace amen may their souls of the souls amen o sacred heart of jesus christ in the name in the name of the father son the holy spirit the lord be with you to prepare ourselves to celebrate these sacred mysteries let us call to mind our sins i confess to almighty god and to you my brothers and sisters that i have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words in what i have done and in what i have failed to do through my fault through my fault through my most grievous fault therefore i ask blessed mary ever virgin all the angels and saints and you my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the lord our god may almighty god have mercy on us forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life lord have mercy christ have mercy lord have mercy let us pray [Music] grant we pray almighty god that always pondering spiritual things we may carry out in both word and deed that which is pleasing to you through our lord jesus christ your son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the holy spirit one god forever and ever [Music] a reading from the letter of saint james beloved is anyone among you suffering he should pray is anyone in good spirits he should sing a song of praise is anyone among you sick he should summon the presbyters of the church and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the lord the prayer of faith will save the sick person and the lord will raise him up if he has committed any sins he will be forgiven therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed the fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful elijah was a man just like us yet he prayed earnestly that it might not rain and for three years and six months it did not rain upon the land then elijah prayed again and the sky gave rain and the earth produced its fruit my brothers and sisters if anyone among you should stray from the truth and someone bring him back he should know that whoever brings back a sinner from the air of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins the word of the lord thanks be to god let my prayer come let my prayer come like incense before you let my prayer come against before you o lord to you i call hasten to me hearken to my voice when i call upon you let my prayer come like incense before you the lifting up of my hands like the evening not of life let my prayer come like incense before you the lord be with you a reading from the holy gospel according to mark people were bringing children to jesus that he might touch them but the disciples rebuked them when jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them let the children come to me do not prevent them for the kingdom of god belongs to such as these amen i say to you whoever does not accept the kingdom of god like a child will not enter it they and then he embraced the children and blessed them placing his hands on them the gospel of the lord i was reflecting on the readings this morning and i thought of a time where i came across a very precious picture of mom with her little baby um and uh they were just laying on the floor together and both looking lovingly in each other's eyes and i thought to myself um i'm gonna put this caption on this picture and i put you are my career as the mom would say to the little child and it's been my privilege and great blessing to watch all the beautiful families and the devotion that the parents have for their children but also to see how loving and trusting the children are for those who are in charge of them those who protect them those who provide for them those who nurture them and to see you know just a kind of peace in a child's eyes that i'm in a good place that i don't have to worry and and i always say this to a high level of trust i mean these little ones learn whole languages at like two years old i mean i can't learn latin at all in my 60s because they just trust their teachers and and so it comes easy for them i think that's what jesus was getting at when he he said the kingdom of god belongs to just such as these do we have that kind of trust in god that we can learn easily that we can see life as a classroom that we can learn from our mistakes that we can become the best version of ourselves we could possibly be you know that's what parents draw out of their children you know strive for the best that you could be and they do said that they do that teaching and coaching in such a nurturing way and so something to ponder as we're heading into lent you know can i let go and be like a child trusting the great teacher in heaven please stand let us bring our needs and those of our brothers and sisters in christ to our loving father for all clergy may they be blessed and strengthened as they care for god's people we pray to the lord lord hear our prayer for the sick and those who care for them may they be comforted by the presence of the loving god our loving god we pray to the lord lord hear our prayer for all catechists and parents who teach the word of god to young people may they be guided by the holy spirit to be living examples of god's word in the world we pray to the lord r lord hear our lord for those who have died may they rest in the eternal embrace of god and today's mass is being offered for john humphrey we pray to the lord lord hear our prayer loving father with humble hearts we bring our needs before you through christ our lord blessed are you lord god of all creation for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you fruit of the earth work of human hands will become for us the bread of life blessed be god forever by the mystery of this watermelon when we come to share christmas who hold himself to share our humanity blessed are you lord god of all creation for through your goodness we have this wine we offer you fruit of the divine work of human hands will become our spiritual drink blessed be god forever pray my brothers and sisters that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to god the almighty father may the lord accept the sacrifice of my hands for the praise and glory of his name for our good and the good of all his holy church as we celebrate your mysteries o lord with the observance that is your due we humbly ask you that what we offer to the honor of your majesty may profit us for salvation through christ our lord the lord be with you lift up your hearts let us give thanks to the lord our god it is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks lord holy father almighty and eternal god for we know it belongs to your boundless glory that you came to the aid of mortal beings with your divinity and even fashion for us a remedy out of mortality itself that the cause of our downfall might become the means of our salvation through christ our lord through him the host of angels adores your majesty and rejoices in your presence forever may our voices we pray join with theirs in one course of exalted praise as we acclaim holy holy holy lord god of hosts heaven and earth are full of your glory hosanna in the highest blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord hosanna in the highest to you therefore most merciful father we make humble prayer and petition through jesus christ your son our lord that you accept and bless these gifts these offerings these holy and unblemished sacrifices which we offer you firstly for your holy catholic church be pleased to grant her peace to guard united governor throughout the whole world together with your servant francis our pope and donald our bishop and all those who hold him to the truth head on the catholic and apostolic faith remember lord your servants and all gathered here whose faith and devotion are known to you for them we offer you this sacrifice of praise are they offered for themselves and all who are dear to them for the redemption of their souls in hope of health and well-being and paying their homage to you the eternal god living and true in communion with those whose memory we venerate especially the glorious of a virgin mary mother of our god and lord jesus christ and blessed joseph her spouse your blessed apostles and martyrs peter and paul andrew james john thomas james philip bartholomew matthew simon and jude linus cleanest clements sixtus cornelius cyprian lawrence chrysogenius john and paul cosmos and damien and all your saints we ask that through their merits and prayers in all things we may be defended by your protecting help therefore lord we pray graciously accept this oblation of our service that of your whole family order our days and your peace and command that we be delivered from eternal damnation and counted among the flock of those who have chosen be pleased oh god we pray to bless acknowledge and approve this offering in every respect make it spiritual and acceptable so may become for us the body and blood of your most beloved son our lord jesus christ on the day before he was to suffer he took bread in his holy and venerable hands with eyes raised to heaven to o god as almighty father giving you thanks he said the blessing broke the bread and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you in a similar way when supper was entered he took this precious chalice in his holy and venerable hands and once more giving you thanks he said the blessing and gave the chalice to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me [Music] the mystery of faith save us savor the world for by your cross and resurrection you have set us free therefore o lord as we celebrate the memorial the blessed passion the resurrection from the dead and the glorious ascension into heaven of christ your son our lord we your servants and your holy people offer to your glorious majesty from the gifts you have given us this pure victim this holy victim this spotless victim the holy bread of eternal life and the chalice of everlasting salvation be pleased to look upon these offerings with a serene and kindly countenance and to accept them as once you are pleased to accept the gifts of your servant abel the just the sacrifice of abraham our father in faith and the offering of your high priest melchizedek a holy sacrifice a spotless victim in humble prayer we ask you almighty god command these gifts be born for the hands of your holy angel to your ultron high the sight of your divine majesty so that all of us would do this participation at the altar receive the most holy body and blood of your son may be filled with every grace and heavenly blessing remember also lord your servants who have gone before us with a sign of faith and rest in the sleep of peace grant them o lord we pray in all who sleep in christ a place of refreshment light and peace to us also your servants who those sinners hope in your abundant mercies graciously grant some share in fellowship with your holy apostles and martyrs with john the baptist stephen matthias barnabas ignatius alexander marcelinus peter felicity perpetua agatha lucy agnes cecilia anastasia and all your saints admit as we beseech you into their company not weighing our merits but granting us your pardon through christ our lord through whom you continue to make all these good things o lord you sanctify them fill them with life bless them and bestow them upon us through him and with him and in him oh god almighty father in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and honor is yours forever and ever at the savior's command and former divine teaching we dare to say our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil deliver us lord we pray from every evil graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our savior jesus christ for the kingdom the power the glory are yours now and forever lord jesus christ who said your apostles peace i leave you my peace i give you look not on our sins but in the faith of your church and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will who live and reign forever and ever the peace of the lord be with you always lamb of god you take away the sins of the world have mercy on us lamb of god you take away the battle be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil may god rebuke him we humbly pray and do thou o prince of the heavenly hosts by the power of god cast into hell satan and all the
