hey everybody good morning welcome to another devo session i'm excited that you guys are here with us let's go ahead and worship together [Music] i've tried so hard to see it took me so long to believe it you choose someone like me to carry your victory [Music] perfection could never earn it you give what we don't deserve you take the broken things and raise them to glory [Music] you are my champion giants following [Music] i am who you say i you am me with comfort and time seated in the heavenly place undefeated with the one you [Music] now i can finally see it you're teaching me how to receive it so let all this surroundings cease for this is my victory [Music] and i am who you say i am [Music] [Music] i know i know [Music] when i let my voice in shout every wall comes crashing down i have the authority [Music] jesus has given me [Music] [Music] authority yes i did jesus has given me when i lift my voice in child every wall comes crashing down i have the authority yes i do jesus has given me [Music] miracles are breaking out i have [Music] jesus has given me cause you are my champion [Music] every battle you want i am who you [Music] undefeated good morning everybody so glad you joined us for our morning devotions i trust your day is going well uh we are in the book of first timothy um chapter one for this morning's devotion um so glad you're joining with us uh in our daily bible reading program i know it's benefiting your life um it says here in first timothy 1 4 it says don't let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees these things only lead to meaningless speculations which don't help people live a life of faith in god did you know that some of our conversations can be meaningless i mean it can be full of opinion and it can be full of good ideas um but really our discussions with other people can really end up being idle and meaningless not a whole lot of purpose to it it's kind of like when you pick up your phone and you start scrolling through instagram or scrolling through facebook and you only are going on to check a couple things and then like an hour later you're still on there and you put your phone down and you're like that was a complete waste of time i did something for a whole whole hour that did nothing for me it really didn't encourage me didn't encourage anybody else it really was meaningless and a waste of time and this is what paul's saying he says some of our conversations can be meaningless and be a waste of time if we're just having endless discussions of speculation and it not be really truth he says the purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart a clear conscience and genuine faith he says but some people have missed this whole point they've turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions i don't know about you but i have seen this man in the last teenage last you know 18 months or so of our current world situation uh people having meaningless chatter and meaningless discussions discussions that don't help anything i mean when we are having discussions where we're complaining about our current situation or we're you know stating our own opinions about certain situations and it doesn't come from the word based on the word of god out of love and genuine peace and concern for other people man then we're wasting our time and paul's saying here your uh your your um discussions can be meaningless your interactions with people can be meaningless meaningless you can be doing more harm than good because we as believers need to have every conversation be filled with love filled with a pure heart a clear conscience and with genuine faith i encourage us today man help help us oh god right that our conversations would be god-filled from a foundation of love god filled on purpose not just meaning rambling our own opinions but god filled words because your god-filled words can bring life to those around you that's also what the bible says a good word is sweeter than honey sweeter than chocolate sweeter than brownies or a crumbled cookie uh i encourage you today live life based and filled with the love of god let every conversation be christ-centered father we thank you today for who you are thank you for your life the joy the peace that you give god help us god to be aware of what we're saying today the conversations we're having today help us to be spirit-led god-led that every conversation would be filled with love that we wouldn't be trying to to just drive our own personal opinion and our own agenda but we'd be totally submitted to the love of christ we give you thanks today jesus name we pray amen hey thanks for joining us today you go have a great day we'll see you again real soon
