if you've got a three in the direction of your brain [Music] I know why I was born this is it all right folk today let's turn in our Bibles to the book of John chapter 15 verses 1 through 8 john 15 1 through 8 and it reads I am The True Vine and my father is the husbandman every branch in me that beareth NOT fruit he taketh away and every branch that beareth fruit he purges it that it may bring forth more fruit now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you abide in me and I in you as the branch cannot as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself except it abide in the vine no more can ye except ye abide in me I am the vine ye are the branches he that abideth in me and I in him the same bringeth forth much fruit fruit for without me you can do nothing if a man abide not in me he is cast forth as a branch and is withered and men gather them and cast them into the fire and that they are burned if you abide in me and my words abide in you you shall ask what you will and it shall be done unto you herein is my father glorified that ye bear much fruit so shall ye be my disciples just a reminder just before we start on today there will be no a white meeting but we have our Bible class at 4 o'clock from 4:00 to 5:00 today ok that's Facebook the ubiquitous facebook.com is an internet phenomenon years ago we used to have to say that they have millions of members around the world now we have to change that to billions and the reason why Facebook is so popular is because it fulfills a need that all human beings have and that is the need to be connected to other people when I first got married every time I needed to communicate with my wife I would call her or she would call me now we spend more time texting each other than talking to each other our world is changing and in many ways we are coming becoming disconnected with each other whenever I sit with my children their faces are down India devices including my wife's and I am watching them we are becoming more disconnected from each other but when God made us he made us for relationships and the quality of our relationships always impact the quality of our lives you can have a whole lot of things you can live in a huge house you can have a great job people can think that you're the greatest in this world but if you don't have people in your life you're miserable Amen somebody you're miserable people need people and they're happiest people in this world are the people who have meaningful relationships God said of Adam it is not good for man to be alone so Facebook helps the world to connect on a horizontal level Facebook on the other hand is concerned with how you and I can maintain as Christians our connection vertically with God Facebook helps us to connect horizontally but Facebook helps us to connect vertically because just as important as horizontal relationships are with each other the preeminent connection is Facebook connecting with God on a vertical level st. Augustine the great African Bishop of Hippo said these immortal words often quoted by preachers he said God thou has made us for thyself and restless is our soul until we find a rest in thee in every heart my brothers and sisters there is a god-shaped hole that only God can fill I want to ask you a question was there anything in life sometime in your life that you said to yourself if I would only get this I would be happy a lot of you you thought if I gonna marry this man or woman I'll be so happy come to find out was their job that you aspire to and you finally got it what's your car you want it or a house you want it and you're got it only to realize that the satisfaction is extremely temporary it is short-lived do you know why it's short-lived I'll tell you why that's because God put a hole in your heart that only God can feel nothing else can fill it same and somebody I'll be honest with you I can only speak for me I was single and happy I got married and happy ah do you know why you could be in whatever state you are in and still be happy because you're not expecting people to fill the hole that God put there that only God can fill amen somebody the only time you're miserable in life is when that hole is being plugged by something other than God but when God fills that hole single married rich poor homeless on a mansion whatever state you're in Amen somebody you'll be happy and can I just give you a clue if you get this clue your life is changed for the rest of your life stop trying to plug that hole with other people than God and things earlier you'll learn it the sooner you learn it the better off you'll be same and somebody now in every heart that hole exists now let's examine first of all and I'm teaching some things today five levels of life the lowest level of life is minerals in the ground and one level above the mineral kingdom is the plant kingdom and one level above the plant kingdom is the animal kingdom and one level above the animal kingdom is humans and the highest level is God minerals plants animals humans God those are the five levels of life now let's imagine if you will the mineral kingdom became animated and the mineral kingdom they were talking to each other and they were saying there's no level higher than us aren't you glad you are minerals you can't get any better than being a mineral but then all of a sudden somebody plants some flowers in the minerals and those roots are lodged in the mineral in the ground and the minerals begin to talk to each other and they say what's going on here and the plants reply I know you have never seen us before but we are the plant kingdom and we are higher than you and you thought you are high but you minerals can get up a little bit higher if you do just one thing and that is surrender to us plants and if you surrender we will take you up into our roots and you will become a part of the higher kingdom and only when the minerals say yes do they get absorbed into the plant and they get born from above and then the plants they're running around and they're bragging we are so beautiful look at us and there is nothing higher than us but then all of a sudden here comes the cow and the cow says I know you plants think that there's nothing higher than you but there is a level higher than you if you will surrender to me the cow if you will let me absorb you get caught up in me and I will take you plans to another level and if the plants surrendered then the plants get transformed and are part of the cow but then the cow goes around thinking nothing is higher than I am nothing's greater than I am and then a human being comes and he goes to Wendy's and he orders a burger or Big Mac at McDonald's and if you will submit I'm not recommending it I'm Adventist I'm just making a point yeah if you will just submit to McDonald's or Burger King you could get absorbed into me and you will become cow a part of something higher than you and then the human beings walk around like we are all that thinking to ourselves there couldn't be anything higher than us it's why you got to be very careful because there is a life existence in the plane that's higher than you say Amen somebody God made us just a little lower than the Angels but there's something higher and you say look at the creativity of our hands look at what we have manufactured and brought to pass in the world nothing is higher than us now I travel a lot I'm always in a plane and every time I get on a plane I say the same thing to myself how in this world are they able to keep this thing up in the air for all those hours with all those people I flew once from LAX in Los Angeles to Sydney Australia 16 hours straight I ate I walked I ate I walked I slept I read and still in the air woke up in the morning one place and three hours later I was somewhere else it was evening how I'll be able to do that God has given unusual wisdom to mankind and whenever God gives you something please remember it's not yours everything God has given to you has been given T on concern I meet some people who are gifted and they believe the gift is theirs the gift is only given on consignment it's unknown God will call it back soon that's why those of us who are human beings and we belong to that level of existence we must recognize there is a life beyond us there's a higher existence and that higher existence is God the one who came it to us don't be like my son and my daughter when they were real small I'll take them to McDonald's against the wishes of my wife and buy them french fries and when I buy them two french fries I would give it to them I said don't tell your mother soon as they walked in the house say mommy daddy bought us french fries but after I bought them two french fries I'll always reach in the back to get one just one and I'm reaching and they are hiding it from me I said I just bought this for you I paid for it and many of us alike my son and daughter too mature to recognize the one from whom you were blessed you know most of us will acknowledge that there are three kingdoms lower than us minerals plants animal kingdom but we will not acknowledge that there's a kingdom higher than us and then God shows up and God says guess what just as the minerals surrendered to the plants and the plants surrender to the animals and the animals surrendered to the humans if you humans will surrender to me I will take your life to another level savings about it same in somebody now this is it if you surrender to god almighty some things that are not happening for you right now will begin to happen I stick that on the Word of God that if you would surrender to the lordship of Christ there are some prayers that are not being answered for you right now will be answered because people who go to another level are simply people who surrender in fact there's always a conflict between surrenders since you're between God and the animal kingdom there is a lower part of your nature that is always saying to you start acting like a dog mm-hmm I'll tell you this Christianity is not what you say is what you do please don't ever subscribe to the fact that you've got to get back at people an eye for an eye and a tooth for tooth please don't ever surrender that that's the law Kingdom calling to your nature and every day every night there's a law in nature calling for you to act unlike the way way that God prescribed for you that law nature is the animal kingdom but the higher nature is also calling act like the god act like what you were created for act like your destiny act like your nature is which is to be godlike and every day you're gonna make those choices which nature are you gonna respond to and just like there is a nature that calls for you to act like a dog there's also a higher part of you that's calling you to some divine purposes now the belief that there's no level higher than the human level is what caught what's called humanism there's the bleaching out of God there is no God nothing higher than us but the way we get to the next level is through surrender and what's the benefit we get from surrendering to God here it is we surrender to God so that God might surrender to us listen to this principle whatever is surrendered to you surrendered to your life is what your life is surrendered to all of life is about surrender this morning when I went into my closet I surrendered to this suit so that this suit will surrender some covering to my body mm-hmm you surrender your body to the pluie that you're sitting in and a few surrenders comforts and arrests from your feet if you have no comfort from the pew is because you did not surrender your body to the pew if I would surrender my body to the treadmill that shred mill will surrender to me law of blood pressure lower cholesterol and a better heart rate whatever you surrender to it will surrender something back to you are y'all hearing me if you would surrender your mind to a book the book will surrender to your knowledge the surrender principle can have either a positive or a negative effect on you for example people who smoked surrendered to cigarettes and cigarettes smoking surrenders something to them called addiction and emphysema you always get an exchange you reap what you sow the reward is always inherent in the act so if you surrender to negativity and feeling sorry for yourself which is always a temptation when you're going through something you will no doubt be paralyzed by those on a healthy emotions here is the issue of surrender as found in our text for today number one the surrender principle number two I'll talk to you about to surrender problem number three I'll talk to you about the surrender process and number four the surrender product it's all in the eight verses of Scripture I read to you all of it first of all the surrender principle Jesus in this metaphor with his disciples is speaking about the vine and the branches and he identifies himself himself as the true vine in verse one he says I am the true vine he does not say he is the vine in verse five he does say he is the vine but in verse one he says he is the true vine there are a whole lot of false impersonating vines that have connected themselves to to us and we have based upon our connection the Bible says we have become unfruitful if you connect yourself to an impersonation vine you will become unfruitful say unfruitful everybody the Bible says my father is the husbandman or the gardener here is the image of a vineyard you've got a fine you've got a garden then he talks about branches every branch in me he says and Christians are the branches he is divine we are the branches and a branch is connected to the vine vine branches grapes Jesus talks about two kinds of branches and in verse two he says every branch in me that beareth no fruit listen to me what Jesus is saying here is not everybody on the church role belongs to me and in verse six he says everybody that doesn't belong to me is cast forth as a branch you know there are some in the Christian world who teach the doctrine of eternal security they say once you're saved you're always saved have you heard that a branch that was abiding has been cut off and cast in the fire which is a reference to hell somebody may protest I thought once you're saved you cannot be cut off you can't go to hell well here it is Jesus says he will cut off a branch that was once connected to the vine he will cut off the unfruitful branch now you've got to understand something about this unfruitful branch this unfruitful branch is masquerading as though it is connected to Christ well we are in the fifteenth chapter and in the 14th chapter the Lord's Supper is recorded and in the thirteenth chapter Jesus is talking about a branch that has been hanging around him but one that is not truly connected and although Judas is with the Christian folk and with Jesus he's not connected to Jesus you do know that it is possible to be around branches and around Jesus and not be connected to Jesus nobody knew Judas was a traitor because he acted like the other Christians he knew the Christian lingo and the Christian greetings and he carried his Bible under his arm in very very reverent and impressive manner he was downright impressive but he was not committed now there are two kinds of branches the Bible says there is the unfruitful branch that is just hanging around and verse two says about that branch because it's unfruitful Jesus cut it off now please don't misunderstand me today he's not talking about a Christian who's having struggles in the Christian path he's talking about a downright hypocrite who just hangs around doesn't love Jesus doesn't care about Christ is hanging around for some benefit that is not Christian Amen somebody and you can hang around the church and you don't have pop up motives uh-huh Jesus says to that soul I'll just cut him off and then he has the fruitful brat the unfruitful branch he cuts him off but there's the fruitful branch what does he do he says on every branch that beareth fruit and the only way you can be a fruit as if you're connected to the true vine then every branch that beareth fruit the Bible says he said he purge that if he purges the fruitful branch and why does he do it so that it may bring forth more fruit now listen to this if you are doing right Jesus is still gonna do something to you and the reason he's gonna do it to you and so that you can do even better than you are doing so what does he do he purges the Fruitvale branch he cuts off the unfruitful branch and he cuts back the fruitful branch which means he's gonna get rid of the unfruitful branch but the one that is producing he's gonna cut back on it if we are committed to Christ he will sometimes cut back and cut some things from our lives it's called purging and sometimes he purchased stuff out of our lives that don't make sense to us and we go around wondering God why did you cut that out of my life and I really needed it but notice in verse two why he purges it so that it may bring forth more fruit the purpose is to make us better sometimes gods get God gets rid of a good thing in order to bless us with a better thing the gardener cuts back could stop so he can have better stuff now that is the surrender principle now here's the surrender problem romans 7 and verse 18 Paul says for I know that in me there's no good thing John 14 verses 4 and 5 Jesus says abide in me and I in you without me you could do nothing now if you're operating in the flesh you already know that there's nothing in you that's good I've always been concerned about people who really believe they're so good somebody said why do good things happen to bad people so who are the good people bad people all of us amen I was preaching two weeks ago in Dallas Texas and I talked about no good people in church one lady got offended said the door she said pastor I'm offended about what you said what did I say so you said you had no good people in church and so I was just quoting the Bible you say you go take this up with Jesus Jesus was the one who said yes none good none none that includes you and me Amen somebody take it up with Jesus there's none good and when you believe you're good you become self-righteous and horny and you become a pain to live with your wife can't stand you your members of your job our church can't stand you people on your job can't stand you because you're full of yourself but when you look at your life you say you know what I am nothing I'm a low-down sinner I need the grace of God I need a blood of Christ to wash me of my sins without Christ I can do nothing I need to abide in G Jesus same enzymatic I am only what I am because I am abiding and connected to Jesus that's the surrender problem to surrender problem is you will never surrender if you are so high on yourself you will never surrender if you think well I am you know I've been in the way for 40 years I've been a Christian event at Venice all these years let me tell you something adventism is not gonna save not one person remember I told you that it's your relationship with Jesus Christ abiding in Christ being connected to Jesus and when you're connected to Jesus you will look like Jesus talk like Jesus walk like Jesus be patient like Jesus say Amen somebody because you can't do it on your own do you know what the text just said without me you can do nothing you can be patient without Christ he says without me you can't do anything you can't even have a desire for God without Christ and I says the desire has been placed in the heart by God so that it will lead to God the very desire you had to be in charge today to praise God and to sing praises to him that desire is not yours it was placed in your heart by God so that it would lead it to God without me you can't do anything you can't sing without me well even with him I can't sing but you know who I'm talking I'm done with the singing folk without me you can't preach without me I can't live above sin without me you can't tame your temper without me you can't overcome your obstacles without me you can't arise after you've been beaten down without me you can do nothing so how do you do it you do it by abiding with him how do I overcome my proclivity to be so unenthused about Jesus I overcome it by abiding with him now how do you get connected to somebody when I was dating my wife I called the twenty five times a day hmm and then whenever I came from out of town I went straight to her mother's house didn't go to my house and when I got there everybody greeted me I didn't want to see everybody I want to see only her and they all sat in the living room and looked at me until I left I didn't like that what could I do you understand what I'm saying how can you abide with somebody how do you get connected to somebody it's by spending time with them Amen somebody it's by learning and how do you learn to trust somebody you learn to trust somebody after you have an experience with them so you'll get connected to them by spending time with them and by learning to trust them Amen somebody uh-huh when you learn to trust them you learn to depend on them so we go from time trust dependence time trust dependence you can only abide in Christ when you spend time with him then you learn to trust him cuz you'll learn more about him and then when you learn more about him your London you can trust him then you learn to depend on him that's why when you hear the old folks says he has never failed me yet they're not just repeating words they are saying what they have experienced through time trust and depend abide in me because without me you can't do anything then you say well pastor I already assured in the name of Jesus I already preached but most of us have ushered in the flesh we have preached in the flesh I wouldn't lie to you I preached many sermons in the flesh we preach in the flesh we've assured in the flesh we sang in the flesh and the anointing of God was not upon it and we did not receive divine connectedness through it be honest with yourself whenever I do that and I preach in the flesh it produces no fruit and it's only when I abide in Christ he will give me gifts to his will and bring forth much fruit now listen to me I can stand up here I can prepare a sermon I've been doing it for 40 years and get up and preach a sermon as a perfect exegetical message but it may never bless you but if I pray it on it if I got connected to Jesus all week long and I say Lord I have to stand before your people and I want your spirit to speak through me but speak to somebody's heart and draw them closer to you that message because it's not in the flesh it's not about me it's about lifting Jesus Jesus up I'm gonna tell you this when that message goes forth it leaves my lips but it goes to your heart because God has anointed it to bless you and i'ma tell you this all of us all of us who've been used at some time in your lives be careful that we become scaffolding because scaffolding is used to build a building when the building is put up they take down the scaffolding and they put it in a truck and they drive it away and it's not a part of the building and you can walk around and be not connected all you want and enjoy good church life can I just help you here today many of us who've been born seventh-day adventists we brag I was born in the trash but you're gonna die too in the church more than likely being born in the trash makes you a cultural seventh-day adventists which means you ain't going nowhere but until you learn to abide in Jesus Christ through a relationship with him as your Lord and Savior amen somebody that being born in the church knowing the Sabbath 2300 day prophecy it will do absolutely nothing for you the summer for generation 7 Adventists at one time in my life and I was a little young fella everybody my family stopped going to church I was the only one going and I was only going because I wanted to see the girls I wasn't going for Jesus but Jesus got a hold of me same answer but the difference was I ended up having a relationship with Christ when you have a relationship with Christ let me tell you this nobody can turn you around pastor can I Aine you'll still come here every Sabbath Amen somebody that deacons may talk about you but you're still coming here do you know why you're not coming ever anybody but to meet with Jesus that's the reason why your relationship with Christ abiding in him spending time with him learning to trust him and then learning to depend on him will make all the difference in your journey if Jesus is the vine and I am connected to him Jesus is reminding us that everything we have we got it through SAP ASAP if you try to do it through self same end somebody it will always lead to two things frustration and failure some of us there are two ways you can be a fruit you can bear fruit through self or you can be a fruit through SAP ASAP uh-huh SAP is that which runs from the vine to the branch and whatever is in the vine gets spread to the branches that's why when you connect it to Jesus somehow you used to lie and cheat you couldn't stay faithful to your wife but all of a sudden you in church now and you love Jesus and you don't have a desire to be with any other woman but your wife you're saying and stop acting like what I'm talking about doesn't exist I'm acting so all of you are just so you're not that's why every morning when I greet you I speak to both saints and sinners all of a sudden you know you're not angry like you used to be what happened to you somehow the SAP that's in Jesus got transferred to you because of your connection with Christ and you're not angry somehow you'll learn to tell the truth because you've connected to Christ let me tell you this when you do this thing on your own you'll always fail listen to me if you try to be a Christian on your own I'm not lying I'm not treated when I first got baptized I used to spend some days saying I'm not going to sin at all today no I really did that I said today I'm not sitting at OU that's why I was in the bed say Lord I'm not sitting today oh mama I got up I broke that vow do you know why I was doing it in the South I was trying to be holy through my own power I was trying to overcome sin through my own path but when I learned the secret and I learned it late when I learned the secret that I can't do it by myself now I could be moral by myself but I can't be spiritual by myself same in somebody I could be a moral man which means I don't have to love Jesus in order to be faithful to my wife I'm a moral man I don't have to love Jesus in that rob a bank I'm a moral man I don't have to love Jesus to be kind to my neighbors I'm a moral man but when I am spiritual I am much more than being moral I become christ-like Christ driven Christ led Christ cultivated Christ save Sam it's about it so you bear fruit two ways you bear it through self or you bear it through SAP and if Jesus is a True Vine and I am connected to him I got to know that it's only because of his power if you're trying to do it in the self you'll always be frustrated and you'll always fail so anybody who's been frustrated that your life and your Christian journey is so up and down up and down one day I'm high in Jesus next day is a devil and I one day I'm singing in the choir next day they have rehearsal I'm not coming why cuz I'm frustrated by my failure do you know why you fail cuz you're trying to live for Jesus self when you become a Christian you go through four stages first stages this is easy who I can do this second stages or this is hard hard to stop drinking hard to stop lying hard to stop shacking up hard to love my enemy and then this third stages or this is impossible but then there's a fourth stage where you can honestly say this is exciting is victory will help you some other to win say means about it because you're doing things today that just a month ago seemed impossible I thought I couldn't live without some things I couldn't live without him or her but all of a sudden you've gotten the victory over certain things in her life and that's exciting because God through SAP makes it possible how did you move from impossible to excited it certainly was not you doing it but it was because of who you are buying in a Mensa body I was at the General Conference session in 2010 in Atlanta where had preached so I had a badge that took me everywhere I could go anywhere then nobody could stop me so I'm going through the dome to get to the main floor God says let me see your badge showed him the badge but I had a friend of mine with me he had no badge says where's your badge I said listen he's with me he said but he has no badge I said he's with me says on top of that I'm the preacher tonight I said let him come in he said I'm not supposed to I said he's with me I said I'm not going in until he comes in he's with me finally relented let us in that guy only got in there because he was connected to me if he wasn't connected to me he'll never get in well what Jesus is saying is listen I can let you through any door cuz you connected to me I could get you through over every mountain you connected to me saving somebody I can help you overcome every valley you connected to me there's no temptation you can't overcome because you connect you to me there's no power that's stronger than me you connected to me that's why we should never live as though we are defeated people I am NOT just a conqueror I am much more than that and listen to me if you fail and you will don't beat up on yourself run to the foot of the cross confess your sin and say lord I need some overcoming power because I'm weak and when you sin don't stay away from charge and don't stay away from communion because you need it it's only the devil who tells you you have to be perfect to be christ-like Christ says you have to take my perfection be connected to me put on my cloak of righteousness coz your righteousness isn't no good so take off your coat put on mine look like me act like me walk like me talk like me cuz you can't do it on y'all without me you can do nothing you know why I'm telling you these things too many of us are frustrated in our journey and I want you to realize that this is possible where you could enjoy your journey you don't have to be up and down like an elevator in your Christian journey you could stay on the tenth floor you can stand the tenth floor you may drop to the ninth floor every now and then but you don't have to go to the basement every day amen somebody it's possible when you get connected you'll find yourself operating on a level that you've never operated on before remember your boyfriend is not divine please remember mama is not The True Vine your boss is not The True Vine Jesus is the true vine amen you can't live a holy joyful life of Victorious life and a happy life except you're connected to Christ then the words of the Apostle Paul I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me will become a living reality in your walk with the Lord the first to surrender principle second the surrender problem thirdly let me give you the surrender process this is how you abide in Christ cultivate your roots Jeremiah 17 verses 7 to 8 says blessed is the man that trusted in the Lord and whose hope the Lord is for he shall be a tree planted by the waters and that spreaded out her roots by the river and shall not see when Heath cometh but her leaf shall be green and shall not be in the year of drought neither shall cease from yielding fruit look at the results when one is connected to the source of life for he shall be like a tree whose roots are planted and when the heat is on and the pressures on your leaves will not turn brown do you have green leaves all year round even when the heat and the pressure they are on so in other words listen to me folk a Christian will never be a moody person huh I know you didn't hear it a moody Christian is a contradiction of times one day they talk to you next day they walk past you like it don't exist one day you see them as hallelujah pastor praise the Lord Jesus is good pastor next step if fussing but everybody a moody Christian is a contradiction of terms if Jesus is in you you'll be stable all year round the Bible says when the heat comes you'll be the same when the water comes you'll be the same nothing changes here circumstances do not change you they only reveal who you are did you all hear me circumstances don't change anybody stop telling people you made me cuss you out nobody can make you customer you like to cuss Amen somebody Jeremiah said you're not gonna be up and down all day long when you're in church I tell all these praise teams I preach them Marilyn lamb Sabbath I'd say and say see you you praise team all you praise team y'all jumping and shouting hallelujah during praise teams y'all so holy when I'm preaching you're on your phone so your holiness was only for your performance Amen somebody I said you're up there shouting and carrying on I'm preaching and you and your phone your texting your reading your purchasing from amazon.com [Applause] so your holiness is only because you're performing and you want to impress me that you hold it you're not that holy I guess that's the last time they invited me to dead church but I don't care I got you to come and lay it on charm I said you're not gonna be up and down if you're a Christian and you're biting and Jesus you'll be stable when hell breaks loose on your life you'll be the same person when the rain is falling in your life and everything is going well you'll be the same passion you know circumstance gonna make me act no certain way when I'm abiding in Jesus I'm the same just like God yesterday today and forever because if I abide in him his qualities abide in me I know for eNOS when I see it a mile away dad I miss you and I'm preaching away from here I wish I could just take you everywhere don't only cultivate your roots but number two eliminate the weeds that's how you abide in Jesus cultivate your roots learn how to be stable with Jesus but the second way you abide in Jesus is you eliminate the weeds now you will never get all that God has for you if you've got a lot of weeds in your life have you ever been to any one let me just say that you may think I'm talking about you but I must say it because you need help have you ever been to anybody's house and you wish you could help them put things in the right place and a friend of mine see the pastor don't ever come to my house see the pass if you come to my house you will clean it up when your life is cluttered with too many things learn to eliminate things out of your life empty boxes you shouldn't have a closet and the door can't close it means you've got too many things I don't care how small your places it could be neat and tidy nothing drives me crazy in this world and I Drive my wife crazy my children everybody like garbage hanging around and I Drive you crazy because I throw all your stuff away from church right here you leave umbrellas you leave shoes you leave coats ask the Deacons I say put it in the garbage they don't need it you're not one person said Amen I'm gonna say Amen [Applause] learn to declutter your life if you put on 50 pounds why you still holding on to size six give it away you'll never go back to size sex you're dreaming you're wishing give it away unclutter your life things you'll never use again give it away or throw it away so we came to hear about Jesus not about our houses in the passage eliminate the weeds it eliminate everything that's uh nacelle in your life and that goes for people there's some people that are not necessary to you anymore there are hindrance to your advancements they're not good for you and one of the best things you can do for your life is to identify who those people are don't cuss them don't fight them just get rid of them in other words purge them out of your life so that you can produce more fruit it's in the text then I just read the text so yeah you're gonna purge some things out of your life including people weeds can be anybody who's trying to steal water you see when it rains if you get weeds in you if you've got weeds in your garden the weeds are competing with the flowers for the rain hmm so when you get rid of the weeds the flowers get all the water the reason why many of us are not producing any fruit is because we've got too many weeds in our God and the weeds can be a lot of activities a lot of stuff that do not contribute to our lives make every day count make every hour count make every minute count some Saturday nights I hang around Church here and I sit downstairs they bring me something to eat and smelly deborah few others we just hang out there and talk and laugh I'm making that couch do you know why I need the social part of me to be nourished and they tell a lot of jokes and I laugh and I like to laugh happy people laugh miserable people don't laugh when jokes are being told sometimes I preach in the whole church is laughing and some of you ladies you mad that I even made somebody laugh you know you're sorry weeds weeds weeds can also be people people who are in your life and all they do is block the blessing the only reason they're in your life the only thing they accomplish in your life is to block the blessing that God has for you so some of us need to be D weeded or dearie fun don't only cultivate your roots and eliminate the weeds but thirdly this is how you learn to abide in Jesus cooperate with God's pruning God prunes us the gardener cuts back some stuff from our lives and when God is cutting back some stuff we still need to praise him notice there's a difference between pruning and punishing uh-huh please don't think that God has cut some stuff out of your life because he's punishing you but because he's pruning you he's getting rid of some good stuff because he's got some better stuff for you and do you know who God normally uses to prune us do you know enemies haters people who don't like you people who are jealous of you God will use them to prune you and you're saying God how could you use my enemy to prune me God says my ways are not your ways my thoughts are not your thoughts I do it my way amens somebody surrender principle to surrender problem to surrender process and finally and I'll be done in five minutes to surrender product first say it says if you abide in me if you cultivate your roots and if you eliminate the weeds and if you cooperate the God's pruning then God will make you fruitful and productive God wants you not just to have some fruit he wants you to have much fruit and when God gets through pruning you and if you stay connected you will have so much fruit it will blow your mind and confuse your enemies say Amen somebody whatever you need from God he has promised that he will give the devil wants you to think that God has forgotten you God has abandoned you and it's all over it's for you no no it's not over because Jesus says if you get hooked up with me in the morning and say god I don't want to start this day without you and God all day I want you to abide with me I want you in my mind and in my soul I want you to walk with me that's called abiding then God will help you produce now if you live your life for Christ on a daily basis and say God I surrender to you I want you sapped abide in me I'm gonna point to you your life everything you need to accomplish what you must in my name God says I will do it for you I'm talking about miracles God performs I'm talking about ridiculous stuff crazy stuff that cross your mind God is able to do it this is the final text I give you says now unto him that a is able to do exceedingly abundantly above that you're able to ask or think someone somebody say Amen today God wants you to know that if you abide in him if you're connected to him your life will be filled with power does anybody in this house today who needs more power more power to live for Christ live above temptation live above sin live above your enemies is anybody anybody who wants that power today you want that SAP that Christ can give to you say Amen somebody say Amen somebody there's power in the name of Jesus at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord at the name of Jesus he promised what happened the devil devil in the mic hey man sensei feed everybody because today I want to do something unusual I want you to find somebody now we may have guests in the house don't make anyone uncomfortable if someone doesn't feel comfortable praying publicly and you know how to pray publicly you do it I want you to turn to somebody and ask God today to bless them with SAP Holy Ghost power connect it to the vine so that they can abide in Christ and I want them do the same for you if they're uncomfortable praying you pray for both of you today is that okay and then I will close up here go ahead and pray for somebody and pray with somebody living Lord we thank you this day that we can be connected with you and we can have access to your unlimited power I pray that you may abide in our hearts and when you abide in our hearts your promises that there's nothing we cannot do so give us strength for daily living help us to grow in you every day until that day when we shall see you in peace and live with you for eternity it's our
