it's tabletop time I'm Murray and you might recognize this orc Fort that we just made it's just not complete without perhaps just a very large orchy Effigy today I'm going to be building my stomper now this is a kit that I have had on my pile for about 13 years now I think it's time that this bad boy gets made let's get into it Yes you heard right 13 years I've had this model sitting around and that also means that this kit is at least 13 years old and some of it is sort of showing its age particularly in the gates attaching the sprue to the bits of the model some of them of course the pieces are huge at the time this was the biggest Kit that Games Workshop had ever made as such the plastic pieces are massive so they need bigger Gates but some of them were quite the challenge to get the Clippers around [Music] this space attaches onto about four pieces that form this slower torso sort of dress structure so I would say that it assembles fairly well however one issue I have with it is that none of the parts on the instruction sheet are numbered that's something that I would probably consider one of the weaker points of Games Workshop models these days there's so many parts and they're very fiddly and they only go together in one certain snap fit way how this one is just find the piece that looks like this on the tiny instructions and try to magnify in and work out where it goes on the parts while they're on the sprue are numbered it's just that the instructions themselves have no numbering [Music] but what is a stomper a stomper is is when an orc Mech just gets bored of building things under 20 feet tall and decides that he's just going to build this really big religious Idol to one of the orc gods gork or Mork while all orc stumbers start off with this large belly almost dress-like State they all end up with this characteristic ramshackle appearance with all these guns turrets sensor rays and Lookouts all on top and I'm going to really lean into this for my build I want to make basically sort of like a fort a big jump jungle gym for the Orcs to run around on top when a big Mech has finished his gargan his big Effigy to the gods of the Orcs all the Orcs around will cluster to him as it is basically a religious Titan or icon and he will accumulate more Orcs more mechs and they will just keep building and building and they'll create either a culture speed or just a huge mechanized mob canonically you'll get about half a dozen of these running around and they will charge through everything friend info alike one of the things that I really want to do with this stomper is build a belly gun now a belly gun is is something I don't know if it's in the current Orca codex I'm a bit out of date with that but you used to have the option to basically fill the guts of your stomper with this ridiculously big gun I think it cut some of the transport capacity it's just something I've always wanted to do and sort of accumulated parts to build it and that's maybe one reason why I haven't Built My stomp yet I've just sort of haven't felt that I had enough stuff yet just for an extra big gun I'm gonna use something from this it's got all the big Siege cannons that I can choose from don't feel alarmed that oh no Murray you're going to waste a whole Beyblade kit on this well of course I wouldn't this is my second main blade I have something planned for this one as well so that might be a future a future video so uh let me know in the comments if you want to see that happen now when kit bashing from one Warhammer race to another one thing you have to do is shave off any Insignia affiliating that faction to it have Orcs are great because they'll take anyone's stuff and just use it for themselves so all I want to do here is just gouge out this Aquila and I'll just put some orc paraphernalia over the top of it ugh Ox trilliant the entrepreneurs of the Galaxy [Music] foreign for the gun to poke through however I want to be able to glue the gun to something so I'm going to cut a piece of plastic card to fit within the cavity of the chest and mount the gun onto that I'm also going to attach a few more gubbins onto it for added complexity and also prime it black before I glue it in so I don't have to manually reach into all the nooks and crannies that might still be visible now the big gun is looking fantastic but for added orkiness and general nonsense I'm gonna add a few more cannons in there a couple of lemon rust battle cannons is thrown in there with a bit of orky panels welded at them and it will be a fine addition to my stomper's collection [Music] now to emulate some heavy duty bracketing and mounting for this cannon I'm going to use some balsa wood to mount it in and I'm going to go for a fairly Ram shackle effect and I think one of the most important things for an orc is that it can't be uniform and it can't be pointing straight ahead so this cannon is going to be pointing up to one side and then some finishing touches some glyphs and the ever important little aiming sights for this gigantic ridiculous gun this is pure perfection I'm so happy with this them [Music] continuing the trend of weird anomalies on this sprue I spent about maybe 20 minutes trying to find these two little pins that are going to hold the face of my stomper the jaw on it and there they are two little tiny rods just disguised and hidden amongst the rest of the sprue now this kit allows you some options between the different pieces and for example I've taken this particular faceplate as just it feels right to me I like the aesthetic of it however there's not really fixed Mountain places no pins or tabs that these slot into it's just attach it here I guess and it's left up to the Hobby collector to work out how to mount it it's a very old-school way of approaching it perhaps a very awky way however it can throw you off a little bit when you're used to the more modern kits [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] oh wait it's upside down never mind okay here we go foreign [Music] Tower section of the orc where the little look at nooks and crannies are rough hewn angles and no right angles is the key I think when making orc structures and I'm honestly going to avoid using the word haphazard I think people have heard that enough thank you now I start adding all the little details the extra panels from the kit and also smaller pieces of metal and plastic card to help populate and characterize the little platforms that I've made here [Music] now one of my favorite Parts about this kit is the little grouts that come with it they're so full of character and uh perfect for various parts of it and with those finely little grotty bits of garnish on top it's time to step back and admire my work for all its Glory [Music] nice I want to give a big shout out and thank you to all our patrons it is your support that has allowed me to do this to come and finally finish one of my own personal projects that has been on the shelf for so long and it has finally gotten the attention that it deserves if you've enjoyed this sort of video and you'd like to help support come join our mini patrons we have weekly videos and monthly mini reviews where you can join in and have your menus reviewed critiqued or just have a little discussion about where you're at it's a great amount of fun we all learn so much from looking at each other's works and it's just a great time to be in the hobby Community 13 freaking years in the making and it's done I think it looks fantastic it's ridiculous it's like a little face little face of death I really hope that you enjoyed my journey as I go along and build this with all my little extra additions the guns the platforms rearranging the guns off to the side to change the silhouette if you were wondering what the rest of my orc Army might look like considering that this was for my awk Force have a look at how orc fought build as in the reveals we use some of my orc models have a look at them there see what you think I painted them about 10 years ago so have a look at a perhaps what I was like back then if you're interested thank you to October see you next time I have to paint this now that's a thing C for the paint job hey Jen
