Creative Fabrica Subscription for Print on Demand sellers... Is it worth it?

hi everyone welcome back to my channel my name is mayor royal and i teach creative people how to sell their art online for this next video i wanted to look into a platform where you can get graphics for your print on demand products these can be designs that you will be able to use on your redbubble account on your society6 account you could also use them for print and demand shopify stores with printful or printify or even bring the demand with etsy and also etsy wall art printables and i really wanted to dive deep into this market and service because i know that a lot of people don't have graphic design skills or graphic design tools i'm not talking about canva or photoshop i'm talking about having that drawing pen and the hat and using procreate and really creating your own watercolor or illustrations and i know that a lot of people have this creativity and marketing skills but they don't have the exact skills to create these exact elements and sometimes even if you do you might not have the time i'm starting a new print on the map category and website that involves sloths i i don't know if i love or hate saying that so i can create my own watercolor sloth illustrations that will not be a problem i mean i can go and find some photos for inspiration and draw on them so i have a tablet i have the programs i even have the skills but what i don't have is time i mean for me to create a watercolor sloth would be i don't know two three hours minimum to create something that i like and that i enjoy and then trying to have it in different variations and in different colors and it will take me forever when i could just go on to fiverr and have someone else do it for me for ten dollars or go to a marketplace that i can just buy something that's already been made and i have been using a lot of the free photos and free graphics from canva the thing is they don't really have a lot of sloth selection so i was thinking about using creative market which is a place that you can go to and actually buy graphics and about three months ago i had the exact same thought uh by taking some things that i want to design and cutting down the production time by going to creative market and i checked out the licensing and the commercial licensing and as long as you take the graphics that you buy and you combine it with your own text and your own graphics you're good to go you can do it for commercial purposes if you buy the right license but things there were a bit expensive and i also contacted some of the sellers and i asked them like can i use this for commercial purposes and flat out i got curse start i got sweared at they were like people like you should be sued people like you should not be in creative market and i was trying to explain that i will incorporate in a different design and they're like we're going to follow you and we're going to sue you and even though that person was selling something on creative market that is licensed for commercial use for these purposes they told me i can't use it and i just forgot about it and a few days ago someone on a facebook group asked about creative fabrica and i checked them out and they're really good and they're also they're exactly like creative market they're a huge platform where you can get a lot a lot a lot of different graphics and fonts and patterns but they are also sort of pod oriented so a lot of these designs are for print and demand i mean you'll go in there and you'll see designs on t-shirts and on mugs they're designed to be used for print and demand they have different types of licenses you can either purchase a product for commercial use on its own like a template or a bundle of graphics or you can get the subscription which is 19 a month and they have different types of terms of service and different do's and don'ts and i want to take you to my computer where i will go through creative fabrica's licensing and show you how it looks and what you can and can't do and i personally got the 19 subscription per month i think it was two days ago and oh my god i don't even know how many files i downloaded i created like 25 designs for different pod platforms and for a new etsy store and i use some of them and some of the websites that i'm working on so i'm quite pleased i mean this is dollars that i've been using non-stop for two and it's only been two days if i try to think about the amount that i would have had to pay for each and individual illustration on creative market or buying it on fiverr i think that the amount i downloaded for the past two days would have ended up in i don't know 900 or 800 dollars minimum and i've started making new designs with slots i really love that word and you can see them i think on the screen right now uh i made a few i'm not lazy and meditating and i made a really really cute sloth juggling easter eggs design which i actually use the sloth from one cellar and i use the bottom thing basket that he's sitting on from a different cellar and the easter eggs from a different cellar so if you combine it from different sources then you can use it for commercial purposes so that's what i did and i want to take you to my computer where i will be going over creative fabrica and on the spot i will be coming up with an idea to design i will show you how i'm going through the graphics what i'm looking for and literally how i download it take it to canva and then upload it to redbubble so stay with me this is going to be quite a long video and you can skip ahead if you want i will not be making the seamless pattern this time for the big red bubble product i have a different video for that and i will leave a link to that down below and i will see you after we get back from my computer meet creative fabrica a beautiful platform to find font graphics illustrations that are also available for commercial use so you can use them for your redbubble store etsy shop society6 and any other kind of print on demand business and today i want to show you a few things about this platform and how i started using it i'm also going to walk you through a concept idea of thinking about a design finding it in creative fabrica and modifying it from my redbubble store obviously you can use these designs for any type of platform but i'm currently uploading to redbubble so that's what i'll be showing you today and there are a few things i want to show you before we get started which is the commercial license what we have with creator fabrica is that we have two types of licenses because you can purchase your graphics and fonts from creative fabrica in two manners you can get the subscription that we talked about the one that i got for 19 a month and you can also just pay for one item just because you like it like you find a piece of nice graphics for three dollars and you buy just that one so we have two types of licenses and we're gonna go to the subscription one first because this is the first thing i checked because i knew i was gonna make a subscription uh there is no point for me to just buy art as it is because i'll just be paying hundreds of dollars a month and what we have here is basically a summary of the license the first thing we see here is that you can create unlimited physical and product and digital end products and by end product that doesn't mean i will take something from creative fabrica i will take a beautiful graphics of a kawaii mug and put it on a t-shirt that is not an end product that is using the graphic as is an end product would be to do something like i did which would be to take a piece of font or graphics and combine it with other texts with other fonts with other graphics to create a different type of design you can create your own items to sell on print and demand sites and this is one of the reasons why i am starting to really really love creative fabrica is that they really pay attention to the print on demand market and they really reference it more than other people and you can use the fonts to make quotes words and names as well as physical and digital items you can take templates and convert them to other formats for your clients if you're selling any type of art and you can keep selling all the products after you can't sell your subscription you're not allowed to resell or license any of the other digital files you're not even allowed to share them for free so for example if you get creative fabrica graphics you can't just resell them as graphics on etsy or in a different marketplace you cannot create new design once you stop your subscription and that means that when we were talking about keep selling the products after you can't sell your subscription that's fine but if you downloaded uh puppy graphics and you created the art the same day and then two days later you cancelled your subscription you can keep on selling that design however if you downloaded that same puppy graphics cancelled your subscription and a month later created a design with that that would be illegal so make sure that if you want to cancel your subscription use the graphics you've already downloaded upload new art that you made with it and then and only then cancel your subscription or don't i honestly don't see myself canceling my creative fabrica subscription anytime soon and this was a really really quick intro into their subscription and license of course you can go to their license and you can read the single one or you can continue scrolling down and check out exactly what you're allowed to do and what you're not allowed to do let's think about it if you spend money on a creative fabric a subscription and then you use your digital art illegally and they end up catching you then you're gonna lose that money that you paid for the subscription as well as all the work that you put into creating these designs if they were not legal so play nice guys so what we're gonna do now is we're gonna skip the legal aspect and i'm gonna go straight to designing something and i know that you've seen my sloth designs i'm really into sloth lately and you obviously can do sloths oh such a funny word you can obviously do slush designers as well i really don't mind but what i want to do now is take something that would be more evergreen and something cute and i always like fun jokes like animal puns and i specifically love the i will always like sort of like always with owl in it so you can always have like i will always love you i will always uh like you always grumpy so what we're gonna do now is just gonna check out for some cute owl graphics now what we have here is well not that interesting once i just typed an owl and honestly i'm using clip studio paint and anyone who's using photoshop and appropriate can just make some of these themselves so what i'm going to do is type in watercolor owl and just search for cute little owls that look really cute and i kind of like this one and i do love these ones they look like a child drew them and these ones are very fierce which i don't want to use i want something really cute and as you can see here you have things with a v on them and things without so whatever has a v on it means that i can download this without any additional charge with my subscription and this one will have additional costs so i'm only going to be focusing on the ones with a v because i have a subscription and i pay for it and i want to make sure that i take advantage of it and i'm thinking maybe i'll i always love you we have some christmas hours here which is great but it's not christmas and we have some cute sleeping owls which could be nice for like i always have good dreams and i actually really like this one because i'm thinking like always grumpy kind of design which kind of looks nice but let's try to find like a full owl because this one it looks like it's gonna be cut out and yeah it really looks like it's going to be cut out and i want my owl to be full so i'm not gonna use this one we got some cute little hours here i'm just gonna open them in a new tab in the meantime and let's move on to the next page there are some nice things here but these are like cute forest animals i'm not sure there's an hour we're gonna check that out and just woodland stuff i really want a nice oh this is pretty this is way too bohemian for what i have in mind this one is adorable so let's go and check what i just opened these would have these designs i'm not sure i kind of like them once i see them up close so moving on let's check out the owl here yeah there's a cute little owl in here hidden behind the save button for pinterest i think it's this one yeah and now i want to have a deeper look into the sizing because this is shown it's very nice it's very cute but it's not big enough to be on print on demand then i can't use it because i don't want to have anything with bad resolution so let me just have a look these are png clip-out files along 1300 and 3000 so i'm gonna download it and see if it fits me and that's one more advantage of the subscription because i can just download something and if it doesn't fit me then i didn't pay for it at the moment so let's just download this one and it's being downloaded as a zip file it's pretty big it's 86 megabytes because it's all of these graphics together and once i download something if i don't want to use the other types of on it and just the owl i'll probably delete it so let me just unzip it here and go in and check it out we have 18 items here oh these are nice stuff so i will probably be using this owl because it's really cute but i can also be using these other graphics for different types of purposes oh this is a fox hugging something now let's just check out the size and this little guy is 1600 pixels by 3040 which is good enough for me so i'll probably use this one and let me have a look at the other one that i've opened here which is the little owl so it says that these are five little owls and two watercolor stains so these are the five owls and they're really really adorable like if i want to make like i will always love you super cute and with these stains that you can put behind them like here so i'm going to quickly download this let me check the sizes they don't really specify the sizes so let's download them and check it out and obviously you're looking here and commercial usage is allowed because you need to look individually if you can use it for commercial purposes let's download it and let's open it to see what we have and i'll just pick one and because i want to check out the size oh it's so adorable up close it looks really good i mean the resolution is amazing it looks really really good i i think i will use this one for sure oh it's it's enormous it's 6000 pixels i'm good i'm totally good i'm going to use this one so i don't know which program you're using to edit things but if you've seen any one of my videos then you know that i'm using canva so i'm just going to go here and i'm going to go to canva.com and i do all of my print-on-demand designs on a specific size which is 5000 by 5000 pixels and i'm gonna take my owls let's take this one nobody of them looks grumpy so let's take this lovely one which would be cute and upload this one and also go back to this folder and grab this owl because i might want to use it as well now remember this was 6000 pixels so i can make it a bit bigger and it's going to be fine but the other one that was only 3 000 in height if i make it a bit larger it's not going to look good as a printed item so i will not do that i'm going to start with this one i can still use it while it's being uploaded and i want to do i will always i will ways love you so i'm gonna center this in the middle i'm gonna go to text on kinva and just pick a heading and just write down i will o ways and copy paste this line and write down love you so i will take this one and i'm going to try to find a font that i'd like there are already fonts here that i've used recently so these ones i want to see if one of them maybe matches this type of graphics i also often go to clip city paint and just write down with my own handwriting using watercolor brushes but i want to make this tutorial short so i'm not going to do that and i also want to make sure that it's accessible to you guys and i think the finger paint sort of goes along and also the sugar but let's try to find something maybe fun i don't know or funky let's try and see how does april look here i really love this one but it doesn't really fit the owl so we're gonna move on maybe this will fit yeah this is actually a very common font you'll see it on etsy a lot the brusher and let's check out this one oh yeah i really like this one i'm gonna use this one for both this and this school stella and what i will do is i'll make this a bit bigger let's take this out of the way let's make this a bit bigger center it make this bigger as well and center it and i'll take this one down a bit or just center it all the way and i'll go to effect and curve the text here to go over this and i like it this way i just have to color it now and when i choose the color for this font i will see some of the colors used in this photo which will make life super easy for me because i can just match them and i'm trying to also think that i'll be using it on a t-shirt or on a mug and what would be the background color and maybe i should just go with black you know so what i'll do is i will go with black for this one but i'll also duplicate it and make this completely white and when i upload this to redbubble you'll see why and i'm going to take this one and i want to make this one a bit smaller because i will be cropping it for the cards and for the prints and for the cards and for the prints i don't need to have this in black i can just pick any color that i want because i will have a background of my choosing more true like background would be white so there's no problem with that maybe i can match it to the eye color let me have a look yeah it looks kind of cute in the eye color right i kind of like it this way so i have a big black one i have a smaller blue one i have the white one and these will be for the t-shirts and for the prints and the cards and i want something nice for the stickers now i said a lot in my videos that i'll be doing a sicker video and i plan on doing it don't worry because making stickers is one of my passions and it's one of my best-selling products and there is a way that you can create stickers that people are going to want to buy so what i will do with this one is i've got elements and i'm going to type in square because i want this sticker to have a background of some sort and i just picked up this square let's check this and group them all together so they won't move [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] so if someone's gonna order this sticker they're gonna get three stickers the white one the blue one and black one which will be really cool take it down and again this was with just one creative fabrica element think about that i have five more and you can just create endless designs so this is what i'm going to do for the stickers and i think i think i'm done i mean i think this is good enough because it has the black i have the stickers i have the blue i have the white and i want to do something for the mugs so what i'm going to do for the mugs is i'm going to take the white one i'm going to duplicate it i'm going to group everything up together and i'm going to color the background again for a minute just so i can have a good look at things and i'm gonna take this design and i'm gonna make it really small and i'm gonna put it here and yeah make sure that these are centered in the middle and once i upload this onto a mug you'll see why i created this way because i basically i'm going to use this portion of the design on the mug so this will be printed on both sides and i'm going to delete the background and now for the last part i want to think what i will do for the bigger parts like the bigger object i think this one would look good on the blanket and i don't need to do the seamless pattern i have a different video where i showed how to create seamless patterns i'm going to leave a link to that down below but for now what i'm going to do is i'm going to download all these items on png with a transparent background and just download all of them and i'm gonna unzip it and make sure they all came out okay these are the white ones yeah they all came out nice and you see the stickers so they're gonna be three stickers and i like it really much now i'm going to go to my red bubble and i'm going to upload this design let's just go on to redbubble and add new work yeah i'll click on upload locate my file i've done a lot of downloads today i have a lot of things here and i want to think about which one of these files i'll be using the most because i'm not going to choose the stickers because then i'll be just changing everything so i will start with the one that's written in black and while it's being uploaded i'm going to go back to my folder and i'm going to open this one because i wanted this one to be a card and i also wanted to be sort of a vertical print so i'm just going to crop it real quick and just pop it and save it now go back because this was uploaded already and let me just think about each other i will always love you now i'm going to go down and i'm going to show you some of the designs and what i'm going to do with them so for example for this t-shirt or these colors i'm going to leave one of these in the black text and for the large print clothing which are most dark so i'm going to change it to the white one i'm also going to go here to the stickers and change it to the sticker design i'm going to go to the prints and cards and posters and change them to the blue and slimmer design and i'm going to go to mugs and i'm going to change them to the mega design let me just have a look if i want to change anything else i like to make my notebooks and journals like mismatch and not precisely exactly the same so the notebook will be black and the journal would be white i also want to do a similar thing with my pillow so one would be blackjacks and one would be white and let's scroll down and if the back mat has the black color then the shower curtain would have the white text color let me see if i have anything else i'd like to change at the moment no i'm good i'm good so what i will do now is that i will leave you for nice little music in the background while i finish creating this product which not place this design on all of my products because i don't want to i just wanted to show you how to take a creative fabrica design and use it and i don't have a category for it i think maybe i have an animal no i do not and i will choose the sticker as my featured make sure to mark that it's not new to the fowl language adult drug guns and that i have the rights to use this on and let's save it and check out how it looks as you can see here this design looks pretty pretty cool on t-shirts and i love how it looks on some of the white t-shirts with the black writing and some of the black t-shirts with the white writing and i do love how it looks on the tank tops and that fitted top that is really really super adorable and i also kind of like the mix of the pillows because i really do think that it looks nice that one pillow is this way and the other one is this way i think that either people can buy both of them or they can decide which one they like the most the apron is super cool and super adorable and it really looks good on a postcard and on card which is my main objective here with i will always love you i mean come on think about it what are the bigger chances that someone is going to buy this as a clock or that someone's going to buy it as a card and obviously the stickers that are super cute and they're gonna be separated which i adore and this is one of the reasons why i sell a lot of stickers is because i make them to become set and of course on the baby products this is so adorable as a onesie and we also have them on bags and this is just a beautiful and simple way to use creative fabrica and create a design now i can create the same design with different colors with slightly different text edit this owl a bit i can use the other owls and i can just download and download and download creative items and just create beautiful graphics and that's and what do you think are you guys using creative fabrica let's move back to me and we'll talk one is trademarked but i really don't mind because i think that when you focus on the marketing aspect and on the tags and i do a lot of work i have like uh 10 pinterest accounts i don't even know have like 10 pinterest accounts and about seven or eight instagrams and a bunch of facebook and a lot of blogs so i really don't mind if anybody wants to take make the same design make a similar design and i mean come on everything is similar to anything anyway and feel free to make i will always love you there are like 20 000 of them online and just have fun with it let me know what you individual i sat down i think it was about an hour that i went through i don't know like 600 graphics and i sort of wrote down the amount in dollars that i would have to pay for each bundle that i liked and it ended up to being a lot of money when i could just pay 19 and also you might even have this huge bundle of like forest trees but i only want one part of it so why would i have to pay for
