- Hey there, welcome to
Created for the Impossible. I'm excited to hangout
with you again today. I want to invite you
into this conversation that I'm having with my
brother, Brian Guerin. He has a heart and a passion
for the secret place, going after God, seeing
Jesus as everything, I'm telling you this
conversation is gonna to stir up a hunger inside you, I know it will me. I'm excited so
let's go on inside. (upbeat music) - So Brian, you know,
the Lord really has your hands in a number
of different things. You have your ministry,
Bridal Glory International, the based in Atlanta, you
have Glory Nights and things. - Yeah, we're
trying to, you know? Just really trying to
obey the word of God, love Jesus well, and glorify
him in the diverse ways, you know, amongst
the body, and yeah. So we're in Atlanta right now and we do what you
mentioned, Glory Nights. They're two-night conferences
throughout the year, all over the US right now, hopefully internationally
as we move forward, and we do schools
to teach and train, raise up disciples. We go take teams
into other countries, as witness to the widows,
orphans, prisoners, you know, the lost. So we try to embody
the full gospel, the Great Commission, but keep loving Jesus
number one, so yeah. That's kind of where we're at. - Yeah, what's the
heart and vision behind The Glory Nights? - They really, that's
a great question, they came from a dream where I could see
five different cities, that I realized the
Lord was showing me to try and hit each year. We're still trying
to accomplish that, it's super difficult, that's almost every other month. But basically, hitting
five different cities, more encounter-based. You know, the Bible
is real clear, it says "for the
letter alone kills, but The Spirit brings life." But we're heavy on the word too. That's like I just
mentioned to you, the Bible says "study to
show yourselves approved" and we love to teach and train to go deep in the word. But I'm finding too,
amongst the Body of Christ, I think you'd say the same, there's people that are just
hungry to encounter him, just a fresh touch
of the spirit. And so these two night windows kind of make room for that. There's really all hinged around Holy Spirit, have your way. We don't do a whole
lot of heavy teaching but just make room for the
Holy Spirit to move in, hence the name Glory Nights. Glory, simply put,
when you break it down means his tangible, manifest
presence, I love it. Like, if you break
it down in the Greek it even says "with
proof or evidence." And we serve a God of encounter, that wants to show
up and show off amongst our people. And so healing, prophecies,
we just go for it. And the daytime-slot, in
between the two nights, we all hit the streets
of the city we're in and just love on people, and see crazy testimonies,
so it's a lot of fun, yeah. - That awakens hunger
inside of people. - Yeah, it does, it so does. People come to get refreshed, there's all kinds of encounters, a lot people get commissioned in the new aspects
of their call. A lot of people get activated, because they'll hit the streets, from what's been
deposited at night, and hit the streets
with the Holy Spirit and begin to just
see God touch people, and healing, and miracles, and it's just beautiful. You know? Because we all have
the same Holy Spirit. So, it's awesome. - You know, I think
about the need for something like that. And I think on
the receiving end, life, it can drain
you sometimes. No matter if you're in ministry, working, not in ministry,
stay-at-home mom, no matter what life gets
draining and there's a need. There is a real
need isn't there? In people. - Yeah I totally agree,
that's such a great point. It does, just life
has its casualties, and as we both know
the secret place, first and foremost,
I believe sustains that empty slot of what
life can drain out of you. But also, there's
biblical precedent for the corporate encounter too. You see that Acts
2, 120 upper room, tons of fire, you know? That's how the
church was birthed, by the Holy Spirit being
sent, so we love it all. The secret place,
first and foremost, but the corporate
gathering, like you said, and be filled, It's funny, we host them, but I'm there just
with everybody else, trying to encounter God. And you know, we did
one recently in Atlanta, and our model is
the Saturday night, the second night, because
we've all went out in the streets the
Saturday, is to do, you know, testimonies
and see what all God did. And He just stiff-armed
the whole meeting, I mean, came in on a
pretty profound way, I mean signs of wonders. We couldn't go anywhere
with the meeting and I loved that. So I was nervous to
even say anything. I was being touched just
as much as anybody else. So I totally agree with
you that we continue to keep on being filled with
the Holy Spirit and God. - Yeah, you probably just
feel like you're facilitating. You show up to
facilitate this encounter for other people and
then you're like, "I'm going to receive with you!" - Yeah, it's totally like that, you're just trying to facilitate and help me just
make room for you, and orchestrate what
you're doing, Lord. Because if He can touch us, far more happens than
anything I could convey on my limited knowledge
of the word anyway, or teach or whatever. - I think that's
an important thing for us all to remember, in life, is essentially that is
what we're all doing as ambassadors of Christ,
as children of God, is facilitating, creating
through our life, our obedience, our yes, whatever that
assignment looks like is facilitating what the
Holy Spirit wants to do through our life. Through this vessel. Like, what is it you want to do through this vessel today, Lord? You know? And we look at
ourselves in the mirror and say "I'm that vessel." You know? - Yeah, totally agree. - And so what you're
doing, helps people, I feel like it helps
take those blinders off, like that aha moment,
"oh I'm the vessel, "and I'm meant to seek the Lord, "and I'm meant to go after him." And you mentioned
the secret place, because that is where
it all hinges on, and starts and stops,
with the secret place, our every day. Talk to me a little bit about the importance of
the secret place, and even your own
journey with that. - Yeah, but also just to
expand on what you said, I totally agree and concur, and love the different
facets of the body of Christ. Because you have a
stay-at-home mom, that the presence
and experience of God is just as important behind, you know others that
may be in a pulpit. But I think it's all
going to really surprise us one day in
eternity, you know, how the rewards shake out. But the secret place, to me, is, you know it could be
tunnel-vision but, to me it's the utmost
highest prize in all of life. You know, to just
love Jesus well. He just wrecked
me over the years, and I'm trying to, but I don't see a whole
lot more than that. You know what I mean? In the goal of the Gospel,
don't get me wrong, we do it all, prophesy, I teach, I train, I love it. But I just keep on finding
myself going back there. He's so addictive, man, he's
just so true, and amazing. So when I got born again, early on I began to
sense his presence. And I was like "wow,
what have I been doing?" I was twenty-years-old,
came out of steeped in sin, felonies, and all this,
but I found life in him, the person, Jesus Christ. I thought, oh my
goodness this is amazing, the Prince of Peace,
all fullness of joy, you know I began to
seek his presence and all the other
excitements in life get real dull then, when
you run into Jesus. And so, anymore, I find
myself just trying to always, you know, discipline, but also out of delight,
pursue him personally, but take everybody else I
can in that same direction. And you see that in
scripture, it's super clear, where Jesus, you know, was asked "what's the first and
greatest commandment?" He said, "That's super easy, "love the Lord your God,
with all your heart, "mind and soul." He says "go into your closet,
shut the door behind you." Because sometimes, you know, I know we could be speaking
to a broad audience, but they don't know what
the secret place is. Super simple. You go into your closet,
shut the door behind you, and that which your
father see's in secret, he'll reward you in public. But you'd see Jesus, Mark 1:35, "He'd get up well before the sun "to go to a solitude place "to be in prayer
with the Father." He would go a stone throw
away from the disciples to be in prayer. So, it's that alone
time with the Lord. And I feel like when
that's done well, destiny just happens. It's hard not to fulfill destiny when you're loving him well. You know? And I just love how it
applies across the board. Geographically, age gaps,
culture, it doesn't matter. When people love
Jesus whole heartedly he has away about being
glorified through them you know? Sorry, I'm snotting on video. I'm crying and everything! - No, that's about right. (laughing) You know? It's hard not to have tears fall when you're talking about Jesus. - Yeah! - You know? Spending time with him. And especially from
the perspective of having known a
life without him. You know? - Totally, yeah! - And so many
people in the church maybe don't feel like they
knew a life without him because they learned about
him their whole life. But that doesn't mean
you had a life with him just because you'd been
learning about him you know? You can be away from Jesus and being taught
about him as well. And I feel like
talking to somebody. That's part of the beauty
of talking to somebody who's known a life
literally without Jesus, in terms of, as far as your, as far as you were concerned. You weren't in the church and
you weren't going after him. And then bam, he
got your attention. And that's like, I
could just even see, wow I just even see the
picture of that moment where he takes you by the face and it's like he turns your head and he looks you in the
eyes and you see you know? - Yeah, you're
forever messed up. - Yeah, you're
forever messed up. And it's a beautiful thing
to be forever messed up. And I feel like that's what
the Lord even wants to do with people today. Like our gaze is so
all over the place and I just can see the
hands of our savior like this, ready to
grab hold of our face if we'll even just say, "Yeah, do it Lord." - Yeah, so true! So, stupid, totally agree! - And he'll captivate our gaze! - Yeah, so just
the secret place. I love that you
made it so simple. - Yeah! - If it works out, yeah! - What is one thing
that you say to people if they're like caught wound
up in the complexity of it all to help unwind them
into the simplicity. - Yeah, going back
into that secret place. Which I've been there plenty. Dropped the ball on the
secret place, the complexity, we're very busy in ministry. You know, you see Jesus was. There was times where
even they didn't, they weren't able to eat, and he said my father, sorry, "my food is to do
the will of my father." But also that we come
back to that place of, he just recalibrates everything. His presence! The father, son,
the Holy Spirit! We have fellowship
with the father, fellowship with son,
and the holy spirit. And just like you said, that recalibration,
looking into his face, it re calibrates
everything you know? The voices, whatever
it may be in life. If the obstacles seem
big, they get real small. Isaiah 40, "those who
wait upon the Lord, "they'll mount up on
wings like eagles." You just start to ascend over. Not that everything's roses now. I mean there's still
reality and life but everything is seen
through the lens of his love, his identity through you, and it's just the way he
designed us for, I feel. So, yeah secret place. - Do you ever meet
people that are like, "I don't get it. "I don't feel qualified." They don't get the Hebrews 4:16, "That now by the blood of Jesus, we come boldly before
the thrown of grace." - Oh, yeah totally! And you know, if we're honest
I've been there plenty, where even today, to date you'll go to
spend time with the Lord. And it may not always be
this shacka lacka, you know? Glory bubble, it may
seemingly feel dry, but you still do
that out of love. You know, you're married. Love sometimes is not a feeling. Most often it
isn't it's a choice and to those people I would say, look just do it,
just stay faithful. Sometimes the secret place, I often liken it
to flying a kite. In the early stages, 'cause
you're dealing with your soul. The loud noise, especially
this generation. Social media and emails and
it's just in such a quick, we've got so much coming at us. And you know, often it's
just the soul is so loud. And the spirits got
the mute button on him. We need to just recalibrate
in the secret place to get the spirit first
and foremost dominant where he can speak and we
can sense his presence. And so flying a kite
often, it's tough at first. You have to just
keep pressing in. And then when it
catches that breeze it starts to get easier,
you're just holding the string. And the secret place
is often that way. You know the Bible says, "sometimes you have to strive
to enter into that rest." - Yeah! - And so just we encourage
them to just stay faithful. Don't worry about feelings. Stay in the word of
God, go after him. Daily bread, really really
important and he'll meet you. (slow rhythmic music) Galatians 6, "That which a man
sows he'll also reap." And you seek God enough, sooner or later it's like
that membrane will break, and he's gonna overtake
your world you know? - Amen! Hey there, ministry partners! I wanted to take a
minute and say thank you, thank you, thank you
for your support, your prayers, and your
financial blessing. You make this show possible. It's because of you that we
can show up every day on set. Bring in the crew and bring
this show through the airwaves. You're helping us
and we thank you. We want to let you know that
soon we're gonna be launching a partner mentoring program. Where you're gonna get
access on our website krissynelson.com to exclusive never before seen
content just for you! We've had our guests that
have come on the show and they've recorded special
teachings just for you. So, stay tuned for that. And again, thank you from
the bottom of my heart and our heart, here at
Created For The Impossible. You're making the impossible
possible with your giving. So, you were telling
me about years ago, this time where the Lord really
drew you in with intention to the secret place, to that time away and alone
in a really unique way. - Yeah, that was
like around 2005. So, I went through Bible
college for a couple of years. And it was shortly after
that, this just unique season. All I can really
tribute it to is, it was a sovereign
window of the Lord. And I could feel it daily. I'd wake up and just
this exponential hunger besides the normal secret place
and just spending more time with the Lord, I just felt
this overwhelming hunger to be with him day and night. I'd just be in the grocery
store, just this pull. So, I found myself. It was before
ministry, anything. You know? Before it started. So that wasn't
even on the radar. But I found myself
asking the Lord if he could somehow take me
out of practical day to day, you know like my job
and things like that. That I would vow to him my life. I said I don't care
how you would do it. But, you know if
you could somehow supernaturally
get me out of work I'll vow to you my life. I just wanted to be with him. And not that this
is for everybody, this is just my process. I don't know, you
know to this day, I don't know why
the Lord did this but this was my journey. And sure enough it wasn't
long after this season I was crying out and then
began to pray this way that a few, well two real
estate deals opened up. Made a lump sum of
money pretty well. And enough to sustain
me for about a year. And so I totally just
fell off of the planet. I mean it was funny, my
parents even were like, "He's lost his mind!" Yeah, but I was just so in
love with Jesus you know? And I honestly didn't know
what I was getting into. They taught us a certain
way in Bible college that I'm so grateful for. Biblically in
character and things. But there was a whole
nother dynamic of just him. And the ways of the spirit
that you just don't learn through any school,
you really can't. And I didn't know what
I was getting into. I'll say that. So, it's funny I
went in thinking this was just
between me and God. Not that you have to do this, but this again was my journey. But I vowed to
him, I made a vow. 'Cause I just want
to be diligent and I believe God
honors that you know? The bible says in Hebrews, "He's a rewarder of those
who diligently seek him." And I feel like now days we need to watch that
with our generation. That, you know of course things
are accessible by delight but there's also a
discipline aspect of it. That you know, the violent
take the kingdom by force. And you see it all
through out scripture. So, I vowed to him, I said, "Lord, I want to spend no less "than nine hours
a day with you." And it was more for
me, accountability. You know and I believe
he'll reward you if you're diligent. And so, I just really
structured my days diligently and it's funny. Out of bible college, all I knew was like
praying in tongues, reading the Bible, and
like praise and worship. So, literally just do
that over and over hours. I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't know about
waiting on the Lord. Just sitting still
in his presence. Just soaking in the presence. I didn't know anything
about visions, dreams, none of that. You know? And I love that
because obviously we walk in a good bit of it now. Which is just the Holy Spirit, but I think it should
encourage others you know? Some people here the
more supernatural aspects of how God uses them or speaks, and I believe it's
for everybody. You know, Joel 2 says, "In the last days, he'll part
his sprit upon all flesh." Sons and daughters prophesy. And that's not the
prophets or the five fold, it's just sons and daughters. So, yeah I began that journey and a year later I
come out the other end just like oh my goodness. You know? I wouldn't want to go too much
into all the other details and take up the
whole time talking, but it was just profound how
I met Jesus in so many ways. And then to this day
he's inexhaustible. It's not like you ever fully, you know I'm just
like unreal everyday. It's like, you know? He's incredible! Bridegroom, shepard,
Lord, mighty in battle. He's just everything. All things sufficient. - Yeah, I say that
to my daughter a lot. Where she feels, she's nine, and she feels bad
going to Jesus. "But mommy I've asked him to
help me with this before." Like her patience or
her attitude you know? "I've asked him that before." And she feels this shame
over having to ask him again. And I'm like, "Honey, the Father, he
never grows tired with you. "Because you're coming to him. "That's what he wants. "He just wants
you coming to him. "So, don't worry about all that. "If you need to
ask for his help, "ask for his help." And that translates to us
as grown ups doesn't it? - Oh, yeah totally! So, good. Abounding in mercy! Yeah, a lot of times he just, he's so caught up
by you coming to him that stuff just falls
off before you know it. - It just falls off. It's like the prodigal son. It's like in the running
toward each other. In the walking
toward each other. Like, all the rejection,
everything was like falling off. Because the act of
coming near is in motion. It's happening. So, it's like the minute, I've never thought about
this before until now. But it's like the minute
that we turn our heart toward coming to him, things
start to fall off right away. Because it's in motion now. And it's always in
motion with him. He's always coming toward us. - So true! - Yeah! - That is so good. Yeah, and wherever the holy
spirit is there's liberty. So, anything you
have is so true. You just come to him. Come into his presence
and all freedom is there. All fulfillment, all
joy, all satisfaction. It's all there you know? It's incredible, so! - So you're spending
time with the Lord every day in that year. You know, it's interesting
that it was the nine hours because that's like
a typical work day. And you know most transitioned and gave that as an
offering to the Lord. - That's true I never
thought about that. That's so wild. - Said here, you know? You get my work day, you
get what I would've given. Yet, he gave to you first
to provide financially for you to be able
to even do that. But was it always like, "Yes, my schedules clear "and I can just run into
his presence every day?" - No, not at all. Like the first few months
I can remember specifically for me, you would've probably
done a much better job. - [Krissy] Oh, I don't know,
(laughing) probably not! - But for me it was like the
honest withdraws of life. You know, just
talking to friends or just seeing what's what. You know, it was funny though. It got to a point where
I was so off the grid. It was like I was a modern
day monk or something which is really funny. I'll never forget when I
came out that year later I was at a store or something and the clerk lady
had one of those, they were brand new in
the moment back then. Remember the Razr flip phones. - [Krissy] Oh, yeah! - Or whatever and to
me it was like this new rocket ship or something. (laughing) But it had been
out for like ever. - Flying cars or something. - Yeah, I was like, "Where you got that
from" you know? And then fads with jeans
had gone in and out in this whole year and
I was like way behind. So, I was kind of
really out of the loop but at first just your
normal withdraws of life. Your soul list
to-do's of everything. 'Cause I really was
going at it pretty hard but after a while,
like that kite. I just hit this place where it
got where I was only needing like four and five
hours of sleep at night. 'Cause in his presence
there's no sleep or slumber, there's so much life of
his presence enveloping me. I didn't even need it anymore. It was really interesting
and so much revelation. I began to learn that
he's speaking so much often if we're not hearing,
it's not a condemning thing, but it's on our end. You know? He's so full of love and
revelation and speaking. My journals every day,
I couldn't keep up. You know and it was beautiful. It was really a amazing love
journey for like a year. Then birthed what we're doing
today more or less you know? I don't know that
I saw that coming. But, that's what happened, yeah. - Right, you weren't
concerned about the outcome. You were just walking
in pure obedience. Of what you were to do that
day and for that season. - Yeah! - Yeah, man I just think of
the Angels that gather round the throne and cry out, "holy, holy, holy is
the Lord god almighty who was, and is,
and is to come." "His glory feels the
whole earth" right? And on repeat,
they're reflecting on
the holiness of God in front of them and the
reality that his glory is filling the earth. And I've wondered like, why would that be so
exciting to the Angels. That they would reflect on
that in the throne room. Like, oh and by the way your
glory's filling the earth, your glory's filling the earth. And they're undone,
like on repeat, your glory's filling the earth! And I think of, even
as your talking, I'm picturing people
in the secret place and like his glory
filling the earth, and I see these
houses with flames coming up off their roofs. And that's where the
glory is meant to be. 'Cause we're the house,
we're the temple. And we live in our house
and we're meant to be in his glory in our house. And people don't know that. A lot of people don't know that. - Yeah, it's so true! I've never heard, yeah
Isaiah 6 put quite like that, but I totally agree. So powerful! Yeah, I just feel like
nothing can match, like you're saying, that
worship, that intimate place, that then allows his glory to embody the earth
and break out. You know? And it's real clear it says, "In the last days the
knowledge of his glory "will cover the earth as
the waters of the sea." So, his glory's here. It's the knowledge of it
that's gonna keep unlocking like you said for people. And intimately knowing
him so that's amazing! - Yeah, tapping into that. Like, realizing that
that's available for me. Now, for the people who say well, I can't quit my
job and spend nine hours. Which most people can't and
you already acknowledged that. That that was unique for you. What's your takeaway
to deposit into people? - Yeah, yeah great question. So glad you brought that up. Because often I can feel that. And again that was just an
interesting unique pocket in my journey but I
would say still though, that pursuit, 'cause now I'm
in the goal of the gospel if you'd want to call it. We're very busy and honored to, which is assignment destiny. But still, you want to
keep first and foremost those Mary's that sit
at the feet of Jesus. Don't let the Martha's of life, it's good, he didn't
rebuke her sternly. He just says, "Mary's chosen the better part." And just keep that
better part always first. And sometimes you have
to be diligent about it. You know, you have kids
and life gets busy. And you have to really
cherish that secret place more than anything else. Like a precious jewel. And then let everything else, sorry, in life come as
secondary around it, and then the fruit
from that jewel of the secret place, if
it's taken care of well. It will spring forth
on everything else and it will be blessed
outside of that you know? And I know some people, the more early earning
hours I prefer. Some people like late at night. But whatever it is
that daily bread, continually pulling away. You see Jesus, three
years in the earth but he was always pulling
away to be with the father. Making sure we're
diligent about that. - Yeah, yeah! - Through the word of God,
prayer, asking, seeking. You know, all of it. - Yeah, prioritizing
him essentially. - Totally, totally! - Like you are number
one priority, Jesus. - We're useless without him. I mean his presence
and voice is literally all sustaining for life. When you get outside of that, like why are we even
going through out the day? Like, that's how I see it. (laughing) You know what I mean? He is all of life. And if we're not going
about it full of him then you know, it's
just secondary. - Yeah! Man, what... What is something that
you've seen the Lord, in your story, you share it, and you just can
almost see hunger stirring up inside
somebody that's listening? - As far as seeing? - Even a testimony that you have or just an encounter
that you've had. Something where you
just see it's like, I had this encounter because
he wants to stir up hunger in the people that would
hear me share the testimony? - Yeah, one that comes to
mind that really blessed me and I think would
encourage many. Real quick, I was
locked up in that season before ministry. And I went into a vision. Again, all this was
new to me back then. But it's our inheritance
in the spirit. And I'm seeing Jesus from
his day before ministry. I could tell by his
hair was shorter, beautiful face, but I knew he
was in his carpenter years. And I was still working. Not in ministry and so he's
coming to me in my season. And he was looking
through the crowd and I could tell
he's looking for me. And then all a sudden in
this vision he'd found me and looked and gazed eyes on me. Didn't say a word but
you know in the spirit you know what his thoughts were. And all he said was, "I'm proud of you", you know? And it wrecked me! 'Cause the substance of the
encounter from him was in it. And I came out weeping
like a little baby. But I think too, it
should encourage many. Whether you feel like
you're doing so much for Lord already or not. He came to me prior to that. And how much he deeply loves us and wants to be
with us regardless. You know, he loves you
before you've done anything. Or after you have. He loves you the same,
he's just irresistible. So, I remember
weeping like a baby. And that busted me
big time you know? 'Cause there was nothing
I could say in the natural that I'd really
done to be loved or, you know what I mean? - You know there is
an invitation for
you today, my friend. To dive deep into
the secret place. To close yourself away,
to get away with the Lord and hear what's on his heart. To live a life of greater
intimacy with Jesus, to love Jesus well. I love that about
what Brian was saying. Loving Jesus well
and it's really hard to not follow through
with your destiny or not follow through with
what God has in your life when you're loving Jesus well. This is the goal of our lives. The pursuit of Christ! Pursuing him with all we have. Loving him with all we have. How can we go wrong
if we love Jesus with all of our heart, all
of our mind, all of our soul, all of our strength? We can't, you never will. So I wanna just, I
wanna charge you today to just dive deep into
God's heart today. Go after him, seek him,
and you will find him. Seek Jesus with
everything you have. Spend time with him today. Love him with all you got! And he's gonna love
you right back. This is not impossible! This was bought and paid
for with the blood of Jesus on the cross for you to love
him with everything you got. Brian's created for
the impossible, yes! But it's important
