thank y'all for stopping by the wagon this morning Oh Mister Rogers said it's a great day in the neighborhood today it is it's a bean day you know I've eaten a lot of beans my daddy used to tell me beans was a substitute for meat my mother kept beans on most of the time and I do love now there's a lot of beans after you can cook kidney beans black beans lima beans navy beans but I like a pinto bean it'll stick with you I mean this is a happy meal it'll see you all the way through the day all right you can see we got water to about grab their little Bertha this is four pounds this is a pallet and another paint we can get it out now folks a pound of beans like this will feed 10 people we're serving sample doctor at Silver Dollar City so this will go a long way if you're just doing a pound of beans I would say 1 to 2 ham hocks all you're gonna need we got to help Dean the diced onion we're gonna rake our own in here let her go now I've got the water level to about right here 2 to 3 inches above just make sure you keep some water on them I'm not wanting to fill it up here to top and drown these little fellers hey what cooking beans we ain't trying to get them to kill themselves so I keep water on the stove when I have to add water I put hot water my damn legs is on fire now we've got 7 pounds of beans in here ham hock jalapeno onion dried cilantro folks I do not like the way fresh taste but I love the way dry taste but we're not putting any more seasoning at this time you don't season all this before is your bowl some of your seasoning a white but you never season beans till it's the right time when you do that you'll know you're pulling beans up out of that water the skin will crack you'll see it in a minute then we'll season but make sure when you stir plumb to the bottom one burnt being in a pot hey it'll ruin the whole deal I'm gonna have to add water sure a little but I keep it on Martha keep it hot I don't want to shock them I'm not gonna put cold water back in there then we have to start that process over again that what makes beans mushy get them to bowl and then you cool them off you have to bowl them again Bertha's trying to do her job we're not going my grandma used to say trap gas will kill you you need to get rid of it but I have got a thing that'll fix that I know a being ologist he's a good friend of mine come on in the camp Chris this is they're beginning to get a little thirsty I've got hot water right here on the stove I'm gonna add a little lamb not a whole lot I'm just wounding them but there we go I just want to keep it to work just enough juice in there give them a good start look at that piece of homemade come over to the top want to keep it this way my legs is hot got to pick up Bertha is doing it for you women for women that are tired of shaving your legs hey come see me stand right here you'll never shave them again I promise you'll burn the hair off of me you can see these old beans are telling me it's about time of season the skin is begin to crack on them just a little now they're ready now we'll season like I told you you put that season in there beforehand you're wasted half of it so let's season them now they're ready I'm going to use our Red River Ranch original and our Mesquite which has a little ancho chili and give it that smoking this right here folks makes beans I think these old veins is about birthin had a good rolling bowler about about two hours we just pull them over to a two little simmer for about 25 minutes you can tell when you put them up here now I'm going to mash your bean I don't want to just be plum mush they're just right I want I want these beans to be soft but not much where you can mush water pretty easy always remember up here some water on the stove you have to add use hot work season it at the right time loans simmer when they really don't let all of it love each other together you know these beans the best beans are cooked and I've been cooking beans before some years it these are goodness or did my gosh I thought I thought you said you telling them beans and got all them funny ones oh I did tell her wasn't you man mr. Eagle maybe is that you better believe buddy yeah that's one it was him y'all come back now enjoy these beans there will be good for you bro
