COSTCO FROZEN FOOD HAUL! Best PIZZA & PASTA to Buy 2022

okay here we go intro time fit check nice here we go quite on set welcome ladies and gentlemen to another episode of costco haul i'm your host cuppa tj today's theme carbs baby pasta oh that was pretty good so originally today's video was supposed to be pasta and pizza but after getting to costco i found out that a lot of the costco pizza items are things such as hot pockets and pizza rolls and those are things that most of us have grown up with or you've eaten it before and so you kind of know what they taste like i was like you know what let's focus more on the pasta section of costco for my carb kings and queens i did find a few other items that i really wanted to review and i think fits well with the theme of the video carbs all right fantastic let's get started you know when dorothy taps her heels and she's like no place like home and she transports home when i tap my shoes i get transported to costco this time around you guys we're going straight to the frozen food section no no distraction no snacks straight to the frozen food here is a little pasta section so we have mozzarella ravioli we have cheese tortellini we have cheese ravioli from these three i'm kind of eyeing this spinach and mars you know i'm feeling that and i also like this five cheese spinach and mozzarella ravioli it includes two herb and cheese packs here we go ladies and gentlemen that's what it looks like i absolutely love spinach and i love mozzarella and i'm also a big fan of ravioli because it's like that's like a cute little pocket so you can actually fry these or you can make like a lazy lasagna we're going to do the original cooking here which basically is to boil them and then you gently toss with olive oil and some of the parmesan herb pack that it comes with so no matter what cooking style you use they should be ready in under eight minutes there they are ladies and gentlemen here i'll show you guys one there about this they look like this not too big and not too small just quite the medium size here and then here is the herb and parmesan packed the raviolis are done my loves so i love i love love love love that it came with a little parmesan or pack to toss a ravioli in i will say when i was at costco i picked up this sauce right here this marinara sauce is the best it's the absolute best it tastes so dang good and usually for a can that's like this it's already 8.99 at the market so for two big hands like this i think it was ten dollars something super affordable just know that you also have the option of getting the sauces there at costco and then tossing all of these pasta for now let's go with what the package has provided i'm gonna grab one of these baby it was super easy to make it's still hot still steaming here we go wow that's very good mmm the pasta layer here is like cooked to perfection it's got a nice chew when you bite into it you're immediately met with that creamy mozzarella and you know mozzarella and spinach is like an amazing pairing together impressive you don't even need sauce with it because it's so like cheesy in the best way possible really digging this herb cheese pack that they provided with i think i would go a little less on it because the herb is super super strong but otherwise this is pretty dang good there's so many different ways you can prepare this ravioli and you can trust that'll be delicious because this filling is very good it's not overly creamy where it's just too much i think this is perfect filling size really good job wow oh that was a pasta pass baby now i'm already in a food coma sleep five cheese tortellini in it it's tender pasta made with whole eggs and filled with the creamy five cheese blend of whole milk romano ricotta parmesan asiago and fontina wow truly spectacular oh so that's what they look like standard tortellini sizes unlike the ravioli it didn't come with any sauce packs or like instructions oh well it has a little recipe here for a little sauce but it seems quite complicated so i think what i'll do is make like a little um garlic butter sauce to toss the tortellini with and let's see how it tastes like heat uncovered for approximately three to five minutes or to desire tender turn tender tenderly tender in this there we go all right well the tortellini is cooking i got about four minutes i'm gonna make a really simple garlic butter sauce lots of butter bunch of garlic minced this is a little flurry mixture which is just chicken broth and some corn starch just want to add some greens and also i need to get rid of all the spinach that i have tortellini's they are done amazing kitchen is messy i'll clean it up i have to reset it after every item so i made a little garlic butter sauce with it um it smells so good and now we're going to see how this cheese tortellini taste here we go you guys oh my neighbor's coming over to the pasta with this one and the ravioli i feel like the texture of the pasta tastes really good because it's like just just soft enough and just enough chew now the cheese inside um not very salty so i think it's actually good if you have some sort of sauce with this because it's not super savory when you initially bite into it you don't taste much flavor actually it's the very end when you get into that cheese filling that there's a little bit of savoriness to it it's very good also i'll link the um recipe to the sauce in the description literally took four minutes to make this also that bag is gigantic and i think it can last you a very very long time this gets another pasta pass from me not that it matters all right folks we have found the pizza section you can see there's pepperoni pizza there's cheese pizza there's a lot of pizza i'm kind of eyeing this one because with this package you can get a pepperoni and a four cheese so you can get two flavors and one box baby oh my god it's real heavy we found a paint uh yes everybody gets the costco pizza those are basically what the kirkland ones are they're amazing they're spectacular truly amazing this one's a little bit different so let's try it let's sample it right see if it's worth it these are pizza singles they're six pepperoni and six four cheese and oh my goodness they're these little they're so tiny there's two ways to make these you can just microwave it and you can bake it obviously i think if you use the oven it's going to taste so much better but i am lazy when it comes on the microwave i'm sure it's going to be like soft uh and then i'm going to pop in the airfryer so it can crisp up the crust how about why ma'am you are quite a genius air fry everything air fry everything a minute 20 to a minute 35 or it's in the oven for 13 to 15 minutes this is what it looks like coming out of the package frozen [Music] this is what it looks like out from the microwave a minute and 25. that looks amazing the crust is quite soggy and soft therefore i'm going to air fry it oh fudge um okay so it's a slightly over air fried if that's a thing should i put it in for maybe three to four minutes however it has achieved the results of the crust is now nicely crispy the top is just just slightly slightly burnt maybe not burnt i would call it a beautiful cheesy speckle like a pizza cookie okay let's try this wow it says here it's pepperoni with real mozzarella this topping cheese right here tastes so much better than regular like microwavable pizza i think i'm in love we're gonna try a four cheese one just microwave no airfry none of my none of my shenanigans oh sheesh sheesh look at that folks straight out of the microwave obviously it's going to be soggy i'm sure if you guys bake this put in the oven it would turn out super amazing i mean even the airfry one like i'm thinking about it right now such good times we had four cheese mozzarella cheddar provolone and parmesan look at that nice layer of cheese there i don't know what they put in these mini pizzas okay but they are amazing i'm really glad we tried it you can't go wrong with pizza okay but it's the fact that these are like single mini pizzas the fact that you can get 12 in a box okay the fact that they're ready in like a minute and 30 seconds and the fact that the filling like the cheese topping and the pepperoni it just tastes so dang good i can't stop raving about it don't be lazy and microwave like me because then it turns into like a cheesy flatbread still this cheesy flatbread is is really good i really love cheese where all the pizza section is obviously there's bagel bites and hot pockets i feel like guys all know what that tastes like so i don't want to review it you know what i mean but cauliflower pizza interesting never had it before curious to try it shall we oh my goodness while i was talking about these two snacks look guys brazilian cheese bread that is carby indeed and it looks like it's almost running out like this is like a secret find oh my goodness look at these oh they are so good i'm guessing you have to bake them they're gonna puff up oh yes yes yes yes yes what i can't believe we found these this was like the only box left i think there's a great substitute instead of reviewing pop pocket or like pizza rolls because you guys kind of know what that tastes like but this i have never seen this one before brazilian cheese bread is so amazing it's like soft and fluffy you guys in this little bag there's 62 ready to bake pieces this is a true gift to us carb kings and queens oh even says the um the recipe in the bag it's just cheddar cheese parmesan tapioca flour salt water milk oil and eggs you don't even need to thaw it you just need to preheat the oven to 400 degrees space it out on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden it's my last baking sheet that's perfect it's literally the perfect size look at that i kind of just want to eat it they look like a little like ice cream mochi or something and i will i won't do it i want to but it won't there we go five and let's bake it there's something special here that i want to show you okay so they're out of the japanese taiyaki it's obviously a hit they have this new dessert here french eclairs how cool right that's a yes for me well this is baking i actually wanted to try this which we found in the section where the taiyakis used to be so they are all sold out for that actually this time when i went to costco a lot of the asian frozen foods and snacks that we tried last time were not there anymore i think costco just rotates it out or they are just all sold out but this is a new dessert i haven't seen this one before so these are frozen eclairs yes and there's six pistachios six raspberries six mango passion fruit and six salted caramel and the reason why we're doing this earlier is because there's two options to eat it okay number one you want to remove it from the freezer take off the plastic cover and thaw at room temperature for 45 to 60 minutes you cannot do this in the microwave no no option two remove from the freezer take off the plastic cover and thaw in the refrigerator for two hours after the buns are done i'm gonna try it and then i have acting class for two hours so i'm gonna thaw this in the refrigerator for two hours how perfect let's open this up and see ah whoopsie okay let's oh my gosh oh oh check that out guys it's kind of leaking fun fact when i was at costco taking this out a few of the boxes were already really sticky so i think it's a problem with this item in general look at that that is not good you guys oh look at this what is spilling how strange there looks like it's okay because we're still gonna eat it you know exactly which is which this is the pistachio right this is the raspberry uh mango passion fruit and i'm guessing one of these is a salted caramel oh my goodness they're so cute i think it might be because when i'm hauling it home no there's no way it could have melted in that time here we go we got one of each flavor i'm going to thaw in the refrigerator and i'll see this in two hours see you soon i was able to throw this box away but i just realized all the melted sticky stuff is actually from the top so there's supposed to be like a layer of this glaze on top they just maybe thaw really easily i hope they're still delicious though that's a shame that the top part is missing but there you go mystery solved folks all right 20 minute at fast here we go okay oh my gosh oh cute and beautiful oh my gosh here we go whoa i truly did not expect that much flavor crispy on the outside but when you bite into it you're immediately met with that cheesy flavor and it just hugs your mouth and the chew on the inside it's almost like a mochi texture it's like a very chewy cheesy texture on the inside you see that it's got a light like bounce and texture to it the first time i had a brazilian cheese ball was at a portuguese bakery and it blew my mind and i mean this is nowhere close to that but this tastes amazing like there's so much flavor in this i'm shocked at how flavorful it is it also has a bit of that salty cheese flavor with it and it's spectacular truly i'm gonna open this up [Applause] also i apologize if this has been around for a while at costco i don't remember ever seeing it but every class goes a little different i'm really glad i picked that up because that's quite delicious it is time to check on our eclair it is a french pastry an oblong french pastry has cream inside usually it's topped with chocolate but you'll see all types of flavors now i'm super excited let's see how this turn out all right they're supposed to have icing on top as you can see on this one um but on the other one most of them already melted within the box but hopefully they taste delicious this is a pistachio one let's bite into it oh wow that shocked me okay i was genuinely prepared to talk crap about this one because of how it looked but that flavor so i don't know if you guys ever had like the ice cream cream puffs from costco the outer layer it's like a bready type of texture bready pastry type of texture that kind of tasted like that like when i bit into it that's exactly what it reminded me of because the cream inside was also very similar to like a vanilla ice cream except the pistachio one had little bits and pieces almost resembling like crushed pistachio and it was not too sweet which is the ultimate compliment truly let's try the sausage caramel here we go and this one is a little bit too sweet here's what it looks like inside go passion fruit wow tastes like you're biting into a mango passion fruit smoothie very sweet very tangy now let's try the raspberry one here we go super sweet raspberry jam out of all four the pistachio one was the best so do i like it you know no i don't actually like this one as much but the filling inside at least with these some of it is just too just too sweet for me maybe there are a lot of people like there who like it super sweet if so you will like this one if not i'm gonna say this is a costco item that is a miss it is very rare for a costco item to be a miss but this one certainly is a miss unfortunately oh my goodness wow this is a workout this is a true workout no when i had this idea of like reviewing all the pizza and pastas of a costco you know this is not what i had in mind um cauli flour crust pizza you guys are having too much fun with cauliflower okay all right but i will say i love cauliflower roasting it in the airfryer some garlic powder some salt some pepper okay i would say like 375 for about maybe 12 to 13 minutes make sure you chop up the cauliflower spectacular truly amazing i ate a whole one by myself i don't recommend it terrible bloating lots of gas anyways back to this so this is roasted vegetable pizza it has zucchini red yellow and green pepper all rainbow peppers on here onions and a three cheese blend you can only bake this one no microwave either 425 degrees 12 to 15 minutes i love vegetable pizza and i love cauliflower but i'm not sure what the cauliflower texture will would be like as the crust it looks like a normal pizza it looks like an even look at the crust it looks normal three two one it's done it's hot wow it smells so good okay let me show y'all wow [Music] you can really smell them veggies wow it honestly looks like regular pizza crust like if you didn't tell me what this was i would have just thought it was a regular pizza but let's see how it tastes it's super thin super crispy like when i bite into it it tastes like regular crust but when you chew it a little bit more it's just a little bit softer and it falls apart faster than regular crust but otherwise it honestly tastes it tastes pretty close to real crust like if anything it's just that it's really really crispy almost like a cookie crisp mmm got a nice flake to it too when you bite into it um the only thing i would say with this pizza is it's not even the crust it's like the tomato sauce on top is a little bit too sweet so the mini pizzas we had i thought the cheese filling was like savory and it was so nice i guess you can kind of see the cauliflower of it on the bottom i do appreciate the gluten-free alternative and like it's cauliflower like you can feel kind of good eating pizza right it says on the box it says our thin and crispy cauliflower crust is naturally high in vitamins kc and other valuable nutrients verdict on this is i don't mind the cauliflower crust at all you can barely taste it it's like super thin pizza crust the only thing is the sauce and the cheese on top is a little bit on the sweeter side for anyone who's wondering serving size one fourth of a pizza is 230 calories you know what here take a look see that i do a little screenshot okay so now i'm actually going to share this with my neighbors and when i say share this i'm basically going to give them the whole pie except the slice that i ate oh my lordy laura ladies and gentlemen maine lobster ravioli are you kidding me oh my goodness what a delightful treat thank you good sir and then when you move up here check this out you guys this oh this is my favorite kind of pasta right here oh this is gonna be so good let's get one of these there we go i am so excited this is my favorite kind of pasta i like a thick i like it long and i love mushroom with my pasta so this everything that i love in one little actually quite large bag it looks like there's quite a lot of moving pieces inside so let's open it up all right everyone so this is what it looks like inside it comes with the pasta it comes with the chicken okay it comes with the sauce right here ah so this is the mushroom sauce and it says to shake well before opening okay [Applause] how's that pasta by the way you guys when you buy this this one you can't freeze it so once you buy i think definitely try to eat it in the next few days i get a scissor so it doesn't look that much in the pouch but once you spread them out it's quite a lot of pasta check that out yeah that's quite a lot of pasta i'm gonna shake this one yeah right it looks pretty good it kind of already smells really good because of the sauce so this portobello sauce is mushroom sauteed with onion garlic and white wine cover the bowl with a double layer of paper towel there we go and there we go and now we wait oh my goodness y'all look at that oh it is steamy it is hot i think the the portion is pretty great it's like the perfect mix of chicken and mushroom and there's still enough sauce to coat the noodles and some leftover sauce just sitting there just chilling there waiting for you to you know what i'm like wondering is if it just tastes like every other microwavable pasta i get a bite oh here we go okay bye with the chicken my initial reaction is the pasta is very al dente like when you perfectly cook your pasta so it's like a nice chew it's not soggy really well done the chicken is not the greatest it's a little bit like it's not the greatest but i wonder because i took it out eight minutes let me put it in for another minute i put it in for a minute longer because the chicken some pieces were really tender and some pieces were still quite chewy i think it needs a full nine minutes so let's try the chicken better than most microwavable pasta the chicken is not the greatest it's a little bit too salty actually you know that texture with microwavable chicken where it's quite chewy um like it's like a chewy gum almost like i feel like if you eat microwavable food you'll kind of understand so that's what chicken tastes like and it's quite salty as well but the pasta the texture of the pasta it's like very fresh not bad would i would i buy it again probably not all right next up more carbs main lobster ravioli ooh another ravioli now i wasn't gonna try very similar pasta items but it is lobster you guys uh boil water cook four minutes okay and that's it four minutes and then it says enjoy the wonderful flavors of my fillings as we do in italy toss in melted butter or extra virgin olive oil and top with freshly grated cheese ooh it is lobster so we don't want to like dilute it with a heavy heavy sauce so i like the idea of tossing it with maybe a little brown butter you know just just lightly i wish i have fresh basil or something that i can nor sage that i can sprinkle over it but for now we'll keep it simple i'm hoping this filling this lobster filling will speak for itself okay let's go my lobster raviolis already ladies and gentlemen i tossed it in some brown butter sauce if you just melt butter let it brown it'll take like four to five minutes depending on how much you use add a little bit of garlic crushed red pepper that is optional but it smells absolutely delightful you guys whoa oh my god the flavor oh my goodness ladies and gentlemen what the heck what you bite into this pasta right it's super soft by the way super soft dough you bite into it immediately met with this creamy cheese flavor and then the lobster goes boom in your mouth and it's like fresh lobster baby creamy fresh lobster ravioli super flavorful you don't need no any any more sauce with this like something super light the butter or olive oil and that's enough because this filling is flavor full too many of this could become really dangerous and you could get sick of it because of how creamy it is but they were not lying when they said this is maine lobster baby like there's like lobster pieces in here look look at that again wow what even the heck that piece with that giant piece of lobster delicious i was a little bit afraid that you know the the cheesy part would overwhelm the lobster flavor but you'll taste that lobster reacting this way because like out of all the pasta i feel like this one had the most unique flavor and was especially special like i would not expect to get something like this at a costco i will say it's on the incredibly creamy side so if you eat a lot of this you could potentially feel that like super heavy feeling as if you're super sick of eating all this cheese and cream other than that very very good um definitely something unique and special what a july truly at this point you guys my body is made of cheese and pasta i'm just one walking ravioli just the ravioli cut me open and i have cheese filling we already got some tortellini but i want to show you that they have this kind and they also have a spinach and cheese ravioli and then they have a three cheese mini ravioli here so there you go all the option in the separate fridge don't miss it y'all just found this check this out so this is chicken mushroom and kale risotto look at that oh i'm a big fan of mushrooms so i think i might like this one also this is kind of a decent size you know not gigantic like the lasagna so i'm going to try this the risotto so this is chicken mushroom and kale organic risotto it is also gluten-free it says chicken rice with no antibiotics ever so there's two ways to heat this up you can microwave it very similar to the pasta we had or you can submerge it in a large pot of water and heat it up for eight to nine minutes i think we're gonna go with that route just because it just sounds better than a microwave for this one you know we tried different options so same thing with the other pasta this one you just want to keep refrigerated they do not recommend freezing this item i will say this is very beautiful packaging very aesthetics and now i'm going to slip oh oh oh [Music] oh yeah all right you guys look at this bag of risotto microwave it you can just empty this into this tray that it's provided with for eight to nine minutes super simple and the risotto is ready you can also put this into a giant pot and then heat it on the stove top that way i think we're gonna try it that way just because we already used microwave risotto in a bag okay it sounds it sounds bad that way but it actually looks quite good like and i wish you guys can smell it you really smell that broth it's like a super thick chicken broth so after you finish heating it up you can put it into the tray that they provided it's gluten free by the way i like that the chicken is shredded and there's little mushroom pieces inside the risotto is looking pretty legit let's try it oh that's not bad at all wow how to make risotto is oil shallots you pour in the rice stir-fry until like maybe like two minutes until it's kind of got some color to it then you add the wine let the wine absorb and then you add broth slowly and slowly you can't just pour broth in you can do it slowly and slowly so you get that really creamy risotto texture so what i'm saying is it can take it can be really hard to make it can take quite a long time so the fact that you can get risotto like this in a bag is pretty amazing so the texture of the rice here super soft a little bit on the soggy side it doesn't have like a nice chew obviously of like restaurant quality risotto but all of it together with like the chicken and the mushroom is this mushy goodness of deliciousness mushy goodness of deliciousness you take a bite you get that thick creamy chicken broth flavor and then hints of the mushroom throughout and the grain or the rice here kind of just falls apart but at least you get a nice chew from the chicken here a really delicious mushroom chicken soup it's like all the right flavors i wasn't expecting to finish my bowl but here i am i am not italian okay so when i say something is pretty good please understand that it is from the palette of somebody who just enjoys italian food but i'm not an expert okay don't come after me considering how long and slightly difficult it is to make risotto because you really have to be attending it while you're cooking for like 20-30 minutes um and the fact that you can just get risotto like this in a bag and it's ready in eight or nine minutes it's quite quite good serve it as more of a side dish or if you serve it as like the first course of your mini course meal as an italian meal should be but otherwise honestly like this is great i think it tastes really good yeah it's kind of like you know the vietnamese food noodles that we had the cup noodles it's kind of like how that doesn't taste like fu at all like authentic fluff but it's so good and addicting that's kind of how this risotto tastes like man i just i just love shopping at costco you know i feel i feel truly free yeah guys another fantastic costco haul yes now i'm
