Comparison: Guardian Tactical Recon-035 (midsize) Vs Recon-040 (Large)

welcome to the hallowed Drive [Music] greetings and salutations welcome to another hollow grind video today we put two great models up side by side a Guardian tactical recon 35 and the larger recon of 42 workhorses that will deliver great performance let's check them out a newer player in the market The Guardian tactical knives offer great quality and top-notch performance at an affordable price range I really like the thickness and feel of this model in hand the OTF mechanism is unique to this company and differs from other makers out there it has a very crisp and quick deployment and locks up nice and tight these do not have that severe wiggle that other competitors have with their models this model sits just like Goldilocks in my hand just right the chassis is beefy but not overbearing and the chassis edges do not bite the ramped button is a great design and adds a very secure deployment feel to it it also features sculpting on the flats of the chassis or secure grip even when your hands are wet this one wants the boy by comparison the smaller Recon 35 is a no slouch this one features beautiful carbon-fiber inlays and is still well-suited for just about all sized hands you might find this one a little easier to pocket but will still get a great 3 inch size blade for EDC though a newer company Guardian tactical makes very high quality stuff that can easily compete with the more well-known and established makers of OTF s in the market this model does not feature a glass breaker but that gives it a slightly deeper ride in pocket sure to be a popular model throughout the years the Recon 35 will probably be their most popular model because of its smaller size as compared to the Recon 40 the overall length on the 40 is 9 and 3/4 inches long the blade length is 4 and a quarter inches long the blade steel is Lmax the overall size on the 35 is 7 and 3/4 inches long with a blade length of three and a quarter inches the blade steel is also Lmax the larger recon 40 features an awesome nested glass breaker Balin that looks great the smaller recom 35 has an added lanyard hole I really like the ramped button design it catches your thumb very well for a positive deployment each and every time in Pocket the Recon 40 is my favorite I will be adding this to my ADC rotation to the pocket clip grips tight and does not feel like it would slip out larger hands will love this design but smaller hands will be happy as well because it's right on the borderline between beefy and just plain too large can't wait to try out the glass breaker also thank you for the ambidextrous clip design all a southpaw thank you so much the smaller recon 35 offers the same reliable pocket grip with the added lanyard hole for customization and ease of drawing from your pocket the deployment feels very smooth and crisp and the lockup is tight Guardian tactical was founded in 2012 and they set a new standard in the development of specialized high quality tactical products Guardian tactical products are made in the USA and manufactured in their state-of-the-art facility well that's it thanks for joining us please don't forget to Like and subscribe to our YouTube channel join us on Facebook and Instagram and don't forget to use your save 10 discount code when checking out on our website thanks again we'll see you next time [Music] [Music]
