Comedian Bill Burr gives us a tour of Hollywood, Part 1

hey what's going on Bill Burr out here or not Los Angeles in my hybrid um I'm going to be at the uh Wilber theater in uh Bill bur at the Wilbur what is it February 6th yes February 6th I'm going to be there uh for two shows and uh anybody who can't make it there if you live out in Western Massachusetts near Lee Massachusetts where somebody threw a dinner roll at me cuz there was a bachelor party right next door was soon stand up in a restaurant like 15 years ago and somebody threw a dinner roll at me that it missed but the sound of it it sounded like a gunshot whatever so I'm going to be at the uh I'm going to be at the the the hooky la in chapi you like that 17 years into my standup career and I'm doing standup at a Chinese restaurant but it's going to be a good time that's right so we're on what are we right now we're on Melrose Melrose Avenue Yep this is where all the skinny buy their skinny clothes and um no they don't sell any panties and that's uh that's a market that I would like to sell panties on Melrose because these girls always get out of the car they forget to put their panties on and then you know they show the ho-ass and then you know they don't get to inherit as many hotels when their sugar daddy dies that's all true you can look that up on Wikipedia just come to my show it's going to be great if you saw me on uh my why do I do this special um I've written a whole new hour of uh of um what do I write comedy comedy yeah and whole new hour of that stuff so I won't be repeating any jokes okay which most of you will be exced about but some of you I don't know for some reason people actually get bummed out they think that they want to hear the joke they already heard again and all I got to say to that is you know when you're at a bar and somebody tells you a joke you know hey two guys walk into a bar they tell you the joke and then you laugh they don't tell you the joke again they did that would be weird you'd be like I know dude I get it to get to the other side you know stop stalling byy the next round you cheap sure here this is uh this is the Improv right here on Melrose I'll give you a little Comedy Tour right there that's the classic one where're all the funny guys from uh God I'd be such a bad tour bus person now everybody you ever seen has performed there that's like you know bud Freeman evening at The Improv for you older people who remember the comedy boom of the 80s which is one of the main reasons why I started doing that stuff cuz towards the end of the boom you would literally see secretaries and accountants on TV somehow sure going what's you know what's the deal with parking meters you know now we're turning on La Siena there a great titty bar right down the street and some nice restaurants yeah look it up there the Hollywood Hills we go yeah they see up the hills third third house on the left that's Brad Pitt's house was hanging out there the other day at a barbecue you know he was asking me some tips on acting I was like Brad I got to go and another famous comedy club right here The Comedy Store this one's my favorite that's my favorite right there that hell hole in there Richard PRI and all those guys everybody David Letterman uh Eddie Rabinowitz sorry it's early I can't think of anybody no that's uh that's fine of course Paulie Paulie Shore there you go good Lord going blank Paulie totally Paulie totally Paulie is there and he totally books the place so I totally won't be making fun of him oh River Phoenix died back there this is what sunset is it's all yeah it's all and people oding is a Laugh Factory Laugh Factory with one of my favorite club Owners ever Jamie Masada who I did not get along with when I first came out here you know what I did I didn't get his sense of humor he plays it so dead pan who's kidding who he's actually he's a dick but on once you get past a certain level he becomes he's nice this is just another thing at La you know if this was Back East everybody on the right would keep going but everybody just stopped you know like it's one of those end of the world things and everything just freezes like a Will Smith movie his his why I spend all my money Guitar Center you see Brian Wilson there on Friday I I no actually I didn't know I didn't know that Sam Ash like you know everybody's got that geeky little thing in life that they wish they were good at like I play drums and uh I started playing guitar here's another little seventh Veil there's another titty bar see this is where all the girls who wanted to be on Hard Castle McCormack and the Fall Guy that's the sad thing about out here is that there's only room for there's only one on every show it's really there's not enough room well now it's the Heyday of the because of the uh the reality TV but back in the day there was only one uh one piece of H on every show and um a lot of girls ended up at the seventh Veil cheetas yeah because they didn't get to get you know they didn't get to be that big-haired girl on Hunter you know well they didn't look lesbian enough to be on uh Kagney and Lacy lot of lot of lot of dreams die on this street look at that car that Corvette right there that's beautiful look at that guy right there he's probably the producer of The Fall Guy that's one of the things I love about going to a party out here you just see some old guy and you look at him like look at that old guy you know look at him still hanging on like like I still look good right this is what always the emasculating moment right when I'm sitting here and this guy's got a nice Tom celic I'm a man mustache and his Mustang and I'm sitting here right at the line like an American Graffiti you know this is when I have to this is when I have to do the gut check and make sure I'm happy with myself as a human being there we go there's a Staples I don't know if you guys have that back there that's a great movie theater right there cama cama there you go all right look at that house right up there on the top of the hill that one with the round roof can you zoom in on that yeah you know whose house that was MV Griffin's house at least that's the rumor I heard you know what I love I I go I go on TV and I make fun of shelter dogs and the amount of emails I get people giving me like I really don't like dogs like the the the level of anger people have but Bankers go out and steal three4 of a trillion dollars nobody gives a the sad thing I don't think most people even get it that's right I'm talking down to you those people yeah they don't get here there you go a lot of culture out here little Bed Bath and Beyond you know what I mean kind of stuff you can't see back in Massachusetts huh cuz there's a palm tree right out in front of it oh we got to go buy this up here this is the capital Rec building this is where Frank Sinatra and all those other guys you know those guys before date rape was a crime they used to sing all the songs there's where I did my first TV first TV I ever did right in there that was used to be called The Palace I don't know what the hell it's called now um I did Louis Anderson's comedy showcase back when I had a lot more hair and a little more of a sparkle in my eye
