Colin Firth And Patrick Dempsey Talk Bridget Jones's Baby | This Morning

I just got on a bike to see you guys I finally made it how are you both very well thank you I'm so happy Bridget Jones is back thank the Lord but I'm going to be honest with you I'm a little bit upset that you both didn't call me to rehearse you both into the characters where was my call have you lost my number that's what I want to know what I haven't just met you now that I can get your number be sure you change your number is that what just rang and rang just blocked it you would leave me alone but listen it's so good to have him back where's mr. Doherty being from the last 12 years uh it's a good question I think he's where he always was really he just you know with a wig and gown and tension buttocks I have missed him no so good to see him back and Patrick welcome thank you and choice nice to be a part of yeah I mean was he nervous coming on board of always always you did you just embrace it was your fan uh I was a little nervous absolutely you know you don't know how you're gonna fit in and have you get along with everybody and everybody's really supportive accommodating and I think the good thing was it was enough time had gone buying that everybody was sort of feeling some sort of nervousness in their own right and and that allowed us to sort of get to know each other yeah I think we all felt with you know like new boys and girls really at this point if we hadn't been traveling in formation since 2003 anyway you know yeah so I think it was we all felt that kind of we had the pressure because it was supposed to be easy was supposed to be able to just slip back into the characters and all the rest of it and I actually I hadn't really I'd forgotten about it really yeah it's bizarre because I just so familiar with those characters and you just slipped right in I mean the three of you together the comedic timing is just fantastic I mean when did you realize you have something special it's sure I think immediately when we first met there was a nice connection really a great sense of humor and I enjoyed it in was it was nice to to take the time to enjoy the process of you know rehearsing and there were a lot of questions that we had to ask and answer the script and through that process then we started to discover what was working with us and the chemistry there started to come forth you know the chemistry is a fantastic I mean did you initiate our Patrick into Britain to do it was there any initiation I can't yes with its embargo you can't really discuss the hazing and the initiation yes yes it's the it's a dark Masonic well in with a tough factory that's all I want to know that it was what I needed to have at that time in my life it is more better formed as yes I've grown so much in the last we should talk about the light herself the lovely ray Knight she's amazing I mean I can't I forget that she's from Texas her accent is so good very confusing isn't it it is really because I really know her doing this press hearing this Texas sound yeah well I didn't hear until like a month ago when we first started doing our press the that was oh that's right you are sounds good you are inauthentic to me yeah it's like why are you acting like that no she's supposed to be from Croydon or somewhere and I you know I can't I kinda wherever you know Oxfordshire and I thought that was in Texas isn't quite what it might be I didn't know where that was might be yes I'm sure they have a Croydon no I it's I I I just hearing her even 15 years ago whenever it was talking about her childhood because she keeps her you know the Brigid voice did she keep it the whole wife yeah he never breaks character yeah with a dialer so that's that's how I know her best and and so to hear somebody who sounds Home Counties English talking about you know going to a rodeo and she was 10 think my didn't even a cautious man I mean did you keep in touch with that between hones no we've kept in touch but we'd live 6,000 miles apart so we we run into each other whenever you don't recognize them inches on by you is this should dare it's how you know we've seen each other but as I said were not you know it's we're not like a rock band who tour or anything you know with you we did those films and we've had other lives and so you know coming back together it was lovely it was someone Sharon the director just described it as a rather wonderful dysfunctional family reunion oh I love it who is let's talk about obviously the film what has been the favorite moments in the film for you guys but for me had to be the rotating door but what about you guys yeah it was nice to be outside into shooting the city you know that was not and I think those scenes the scenes when we were all together and working them out and certainly the bridge in the slapstick is always up I love slapstick and to be able to do it and to do it with the other actors who do it so well it was just a joy that revolving door yes I mean it but I do love watching that and it is partly the laughter that comes from pain um Rena doesn't really weigh very much but that thing she wore was heavy oh yes me I mean she took that up and said here this is what you've been carrying and I thought well hats off you'd have been carrying this for the last two months as I'm sure you know as you do if you're pregnant and and that revolving door had its own cuz I could start measurement we were wrong and then we were like oh I can't believe he's working nobody can so funny so the mistakes actually were to to our benefit I think in many ways oh yeah it's hilarious not be six the premiere tonight oh you ready for the premiere who are you taking dude do you want don't come we didn't do there please show me some love on the red carpet you do you taking battery uh my wife and my children are coming and my boys will come for the red car because they've never been on one before and and my daughter will watch the movie with me and then they'll go back to and do you take it yes maybe of my wife will be there I have family coming as well here make sure you say loads we said I will oh well so it's lovely to have you on the
