Coffee and Crime Time: Lori and Chad: The Saga Unfolds

my mind [Music] fragile get it in Oh [Music] hello everybody welcome back to my channel and thank you for joining us for another coffee and crime time today we're gonna be talking about the Lori Val oh and Chad day bail case the ongoing day bail valo saga Dateline NBC recently had a two-hour special on this case so I watched that and using that as well as other new things that have come out as well as what we already knew I think I've pieced together a little bit of a better timeline that way we can have a little more understanding of what happened when they happened when all of these players started getting involved it's tough because this case has so much information and it kind of came out little by little piece by piece and we started talking about the missing kids JJ and Ty Lee pretty early on in the case when we didn't really understand what was happening and as things have started to come out were understanding better what's happening better but we don't really understand at all honestly do we don't understand it all this is absolutely bananas and overall in the Dateline special I didn't hear a ton of new things that I hadn't already heard there were a couple of bombshells that I was like wow that's crazy but otherwise you know it was mostly things that have come out well like I said these things have come out piece by piece and a lot of these things we haven't even talked about in videos yet so I'm gonna kind of start from the beginning and then go through to where we are now and and I think that it's gonna be easier to understand and I scenes into my life and the video creating a process okay so some of the people that were interviewed in this Dateline special was Colby Ryan who is Lori's son Melanie Pawlowski who is her niece Ian Pulaski who is a Melanie's new husband Kay and Larry Woodcock who were related to Charles valo and are the biological grandparents of JJ a woman named April who was a friend of Laurie's when Lori and Charles valo lived in Kauai and Angela stone who was one of Chad day Belle's Rexburg followers do you feel like this is gonna be a longer video so go grab your coffee get a snack put your feet up cuz you're in here for the long haul with me so before we get started I want to revisit a list of Laurie bellows five husbands now we have mentioned many times at least in my videos that she's been married five times but we really haven't paid much attention to the majority of these husbands the attention has mainly been paid to Chad day Belle and Charles Velo and in a lesser amount Joe Ryan but here I'm going to go through a list of her husband's and you'll see each of these pop up in the timeline now the first husband that she was married to was a man named Nelson Llanes this appears to be a boyfriend of Laurie's from high school they weren't married long we have husband at number two William lagoa and this is Colby is a biological father and we know very very little about him number three we have Joseph Ryan father of Ty Lee adopted father of Colby they were divorced in 2004 that was this big custody battle over Ty Lee and Joe Ryan died in 2018 from an apparent heart attack number four we have Charles Val oh and then fifth and hopefully final husband is Chad de Belle so Keith Morrison of Dateline gave an interview about a week ago and he said that this case is one of the stranger cases he's ever seen during the Dateline special we learned a bit more about Joseph Ryan Lori's third husband and his relationship with some of these major players including Colby Ryan and Alex Cox Laurie's deceased brother from Colby Ryan we also got a better idea of the timeline before Lori became known to all of us he tells us a little bit about what it was like to be her son saying quote my mom loved us always did I swear I thought she would die for us now some of this information I gathered Lori's previous husband's also about her movements before she became the lorry valide belle who we've all come to know and not really like comes from at the awake yet 2020 Facebook page and I've managed to piece together what I think is a good representation of Lori's life before we meet her she attended Eisenhower High School in Rialto California from 1987 to 1991 she was a cheerleader in high school and a friend who knew her said quote I just thought she was a Barbie doll she was just a doll this friend also said that Lori's parents didn't come to her cheerleading competitions often but it didn't seem to bother Lori the Coxes were devout Mormons and Lori attended religious education classes before school in the morning and one of her friends from high school mentions that this shows her devotion to religion for a teenager to get up early in the morning before school and go to school before school shows that she did have an investment in her faith however she never talked much about being a Mormon or what it meant to her to be a Mormon but her friends knew she had a big book of Mormon in her house and that she went to these morning religious classes Lori was smart did well in school and she got good grades but when it came down to what she would do after graduating from high school it seemed her path would be guided by her faith Laurie's cheerleading squad spent a lot of time at the Cox house hanging out by the pool and her friends said that Lori had a big welcoming family Lori and her friends didn't really hang out with a lot of boys but when she was in the 12th grade Lori began branching out a bit from her her normal group of friends which is when we think she met her first husband who was a year behind her in school Nelson llanes they were married briefly in 1992 but it didn't last long and her friends believe it might have been because he wasn't Mormon mr. llanes appears to still be alive and healthy and he's been married to another woman for a while a woman who graduated in the same class as Lori Lori met husband number two William lagoa in Travis County Texas in 1995 when she was 22 and he was 23 William would become the biological father of Kolby Lori's son but they divorced the next year his current status is unknown and it's also unknown what caused their separation or what kind of husband and father he was there's some rumors that he just didn't want to be a father that he just wasn't ready for that responsibility but that's not verified so Lauri had Colby when she was 22 and he says for a while it was just the two of them after she divorced William and before she met her next husband Joseph Ryan Colby said in that Dateline special I was like her little best friend she made everything fun Colby claims also that he remembers packing up and leaving their house after she left his father and for awhile she was a struggling single mother trying to make ends meet but then in 2000 when Colby was in preschool she met Joseph Ryan I can't really figure out what Joseph Ryan did for a living but it seems marrying him in 2001 elevated Lori's financial status because they moved into this massive 710 thousand dollar mansion in Texas from 2002 to 2005 this house was over 4,500 square feet and sits on almost three acres of land the year 2002 when they moved into this huge house was also marked by the birth of the couple's first and only daughter Ty Lee Joseph's adopted Lori's son Colby giving him the last name Ryan and according to Joe's sister Annie Cushing he was over the moon when Lori got pregnant and he found out they were having a little girl I also want to mention Lori and Joe got married in Kauai the same place she would later marry Chad de belt the same place that she would later live for a time with Charles valo in a place she would return to after leaving Charles later we're going to talk about the Kauai connection because it appears to be a very important or a symbolic place to Lori so we have this woman who was considered to be popular and well liked in high school attractive a cheerleader a strong group of friends strong connections to her faith and family she was described as a bombshell by those who knew her in high school and I think they mean like a blonde bombshell you know like a Marilyn Monroe type an attractive woman but when I heard it I was like yeah she is a bombshell because she just literally destroys the life of everybody she comes across any seemed like Laurie would be headed for great things then she has one failed marriage and then another failed marriage and suddenly she's this young broke single mother working as a hairdresser in Texas trying to provide for her son there may have been a feeling in Laurie that she had not taken the path she was supposed to that she maybe wasn't reaching her potential and she may have started to connect money with success in life when you're broke you don't have any money it's easy to feel that having money would solve all your problems and allow you to focus on pursuits that are more true to your heart and soul instead of just grinding every day to try to survive and keep your head above water however during the Dateline special one of the biggest bombshells was dropped when cold the alleged that Joe Ryan abused him during his childhood physically and sexually at first Colby claimed he didn't tell his mother what was happening but when he finally did he remembers that she was devastated which is why he hadn't wanted to tell her in the first place now this did stick out to me because it says something to me about the relationship in the dynamic between Laurie and Colby and I don't know this for sure I'm just speculating it's just my opinion however later on he makes mention that after he got married there appeared to be some sort of competition with Laurie valo and his new wife that she almost seemed resentful and here we have a young child who should be cared for by a parent something very traumatic happening to this child and he doesn't tell his mother because he is afraid it's going to break her heart and devastate her this kind of freaky Fridays switched up dynamic where a child and a parent swap roles why would Colby as a young boy who went through something very scary and traumatic and was living in the same home as the person who was doing this to him allegedly why would he feel like he had to protect his mother the adult from the reality of the situation you see this a lot of times in family dynamics where there's divorce or some sort of unrest in the house where the two parents aren't on the same page emotionally and mentally and the parents will sort of gravitate towards orange child or the other almost as a replacement for the love and affection and attention they're not getting from their spot and when this happens you can often see that the child suddenly feels responsible for the mental well-being of this parent now to me it's unclear whether Colby told Lori before or after she divorced Jo Ryan but when Joe's sister Annie was asking what she thought about these allegations she said Child and Family Services extensively investigated the allegation for nine months during which Jo was not allowed to see his daughter but they did not go ahead with pressing charges because there were inconsistencies in Colby's story Joe Ryan had cooperated fully with the investigation taken a polygraph and no accusations had been made by Ty Lee during her marriage to Joe Ryan Lori seems to have been financially secure enough to branch out to do other things things that she was interested in such as compete in the mrs. Texas pageant in 2004 as contestant number 13 this same year she was also a contestant on the television show Wheel of Fortune where she won $17,000 according to friends Lori would have loved this kind of thing since she had long adored the limelight Annie Cushing Joe's sister remembers Lori's 5 minutes of fame on Wheel of Fortune stating Lori definitely likes being the center of attention she told my brother that God had told her she was going to be at a wheel of fortune before she even auditioned so it looks like Lori's communication or alleged communication with God started long before she met Chad Day bell another reason why I don't believe Chad completely manipulated her or brainwashed her into believing these things I think she already had that pre-existing condition of believing she had some direct line to God and he saw that and prayed on it maybe he was the first person who had taken her seriously like she'd been telling this to people for years you know I'm talking to God God's telling me these things and then they'd say ok Lori and walk away thinking she was crazy and then she meets Chad and she feels hurt and understood and feeling heard and understood can be very powerful for a person that feels she's been overlooked and not taken seriously her whole life during their marriage it does seem like Joe and Lori encountered some money problems as shown in bankruptcy documents from 2005 once again I don't know if this bankruptcy came on the tale of the divorce like Laurie was facing money problems after she didn't have Jill Ryan's income to supplement or if this was happening before and it was one of the reasons for the divorce but ty Lee was only 18 months old when her father and mother divorced and it looks like Jo moved out but Laurie stayed in that massive house with her two kids the records show Laurie owed money to pretty much everyone except maybe God she owed five hundred and sixty thousand dollars on the house sixteen thousand dollars on her Chevy Tahoe that was only valued at fifteen thousand four hundred and fifteen dollars a hundred thousand dollars in back taxes from 2000 and 2001 she owed money to target Bank of America and Capital One the Bank of America dot appears to be a bit over eleven thousand dollars and it was from a visa that was in Joseph Ryan's name there's also a debt of almost seven thousand to City Financial a hundred and thirty one dollars to er physicians in San Antonio shield target over five grand I mean I get it I've been in target before many times it's very easy for you to spend five grand at Target in fact knowing Laurie I'm honestly surprised the snom are in hindsight I can't really blame her for that target debt because I worship at the Church of Target if you build it they will come and I completely understand how she racked up five grand I mean I understand why she pay it off but I understand how she could she gets button that at Target in total her bank and credit card debt came to twenty eight thousand eight hundred and eleven dollars and that's just banking credit card debt right it's not her mortgage her car payment her back taxes it looks like the monthly payment on this house in Austin was nineteen hundred dollars month which is actually incredibly reasonable for that size of a house and land Texas for some reason has these amazing houses and there's so much more affordable than where I live here in New York you can buy a house for three times the size and quality of your house for the same price it's amazing it's just very hot it's very hot there so I went through the bankruptcy filing and documents and Laurie had listed her occupation as hairstylist and she also said she'd been employed as a hairstylist for eight months at three three zero zero B Cave Road in Austin according to Laurie her take-home pay was about fifty two hundred a month and included the $1,500 she was getting from Joseph Ryan for alimony and child support but she told the court that it wasn't enough to live on giving a list of monthly expenses that showed it wasn't enough to live on I mean we've got nineteen hundred dollars for rent five hundred for utilities in fonebell fifty four home upkeep and maintenance seven hundred dollars for food a hundred dollars for clothing girl let's be honest you got five thousand dollars worth of debt with Target you're spending more than a hundred dollars a month on clothing a hundred for laundry and dry cleaning two hundred and fifty dollars for medical and dental expenses four hundred for charitable contributions etc etc until we have a total of sixty two hundred dollars a month which is obviously over the fifty two hundred a month she was bringing home Lori and Joe divorced in 2004 and over the next few years they would be in a constant custody battle over tighly enter Alex Cox constant Saviour and protector of his sister Lori and Joe were in a parking lot in Travis County Texas in the summer of 2007 doing a handoff of their daughter Ty Lee you know they meet at a mutual place a safe place a place that both parties agree on but it's not either party's home and then they exchange their daughter so that they can you know switch custody it seems like Alex Cox followed a Joe into the parking lot claiming he just wanted to talk at this point Alex used a Taser on Joseph Ryan repeatedly until someone passing by us stopped him and Joe was able to get away afterwards Alex told several family members that his intention was to kill Joe and he pled guilty to aggravated assault serving 90 days in jail while in jail it's reported that Alex wrote to several family members asking for Joe Ryan's license and address so it's not a great family dynamic right now Lori and your estranged but they share a child so they have to be in each other's lives Lori is living under a black cloud of debt which is what happens when you try to finance a lifestyle that you can't afford she's no longer gonna be living in her big house or driving her big fancy car and she's kind of right back where she started I'm not sure if it was the alleged abuse of her son or the money issues or something else that ended the marriage and I'm also not sure what Lori told her brother to make him angry enough to want to kill Joseph Ryan but in 2018 Joe Ryan did die from what was listed as a heart attack a death that the FBI have currently reopened and are investigating here's the strange part of this or one of the strange parts of this Joe died at the end of March but his body wasn't discovered for a week on April 3rd police conducted a welfare check at his Phoenix Arizona apartment after a neighbor claimed that his dog had detected a foul smell coming from it the police took his body and did a preliminary autopsy and they notified his next of kin to pass on the news of his death his next of kin was listed as his ex-wife Laurie bellow it's reported that she refused to claim his body and said that the world was a better place without Jill Ryan but then she didn't even call his family to let them know and she'd been very close to his sister Annie Cushing for a while here's a picture of Laurie and Annie together on vacation while Laurie is pregnant with Ty Lee they got along they liked each other but even though Laurie knew that she was listed as next of kin and no one else would be getting a call she couldn't even be bothered to call Annie a person that she had previously considered family a person she'd previously considered a friend so that she could claim her brother's body Annie finally found out her brother was gone five weeks later when no one claimed his body his death was ruled as a heart attack and he was cremated so at this point the FBI obviously think that there might be something else going on here something suspicious that Laurie might be involved in or else they wouldn't be really investigating it but what are they gonna really investigate because Joe Ryan is dead and he has been dead for a few years in on top of that his body was cremated so there's really nothing they can do besides refer to that preliminary autopsy and possibly question people but I don't think that Laurie's connection if there is any - Joel Ryan's death can ever be proved beyond a shadow of a doubt so I don't think she'll ever really face justice for that if she was involved allegedly but if you look at it from a standpoint of you know logic there are a few reasons why Laurie would think a world without Jill Ryan might be a better one firstly if Joe was gone there would be no more constant fights and battles / tighly secondly remember lorry still struggling financially and she was the one who collected Joe's life insurance when he died telling family that she would be sharing it with Ty Lee when she was old enough and you would think a woman who was so done with her ex-husband that she couldn't even be bothered to claim his body or notify his relatives wouldn't want to have anything to do with his money after his death but Lori had bills to pay so honestly in every way having Joe Ryan out of the picture would make Lori's life much easier and her brother had made attempts on his life before additionally any cushing claims there was inconsistencies in the autopsy performed on her brother such as his build being described as heavy when in fact Joe Ryan was very fit and his height which was incorrectly given even after Lori had been the sole callous about Joe's death as she requested that Annie fly to Arizona where they were living at that time to be there for tighly when Annie got there she noticed that Lori really didn't care at all that Joe had died and was even discouraging Ty Lee from mourning for her father and as a result there was visible tension between Ty Lee and Lori at this point cushing also saw that Lori had become obsessed with the end-times saying things like sometimes I think it would be better if I just put my kids in a car and drove off the side of a cliff a very troubling statement to come from someone who would later be the mother of two missing children Annie texted her daughter at that point saying she thought Lori might be a sociopath stating I think she's unhinged and untethered from the truth I concur so Lori is now married and divorced three times with one of these husbands ending up deceased any other woman I feel like would have just given up and said you know marriage isn't for me I need to focus on being the best mother I can be strive to be financially independent for myself and my children and when the right one comes along I'll be ready and if that never happens I'll still be okay but I truly believe Lori had gotten a taste of the good life big house nice car new clothes wedding in Hawaii and she was not ready to go back to being a broke struggling single mother she needed to find a new husband and she did in 2006 Lori and Charles valo didn't get married in Kauai they tied the knot and Las Vegas and by all accounts the couple had a very happy marriage for a while as I listen to Colby talk about Charles Bella what struck me the most was that Charles was a really great guy he got along with Colby and Ty Lee he treated them with kindness and respect and he was head over heels in love with Lauri Colby described a Charles as being very much a showman and he genuinely seemed to care about Colby and his sister Charles's ex-wife Sheryl also had nothing but nice things to say about Charles which is rare in my opinion when two people divorce usually the spouse really doesn't want to say anything nice about the other one now when they met in 1991 Sheryl and Charles were both living in Austin and they were married within a year Sheryl said that Charles was very much a Salesman charming always nicely dressed Sheryl said quote he helped a lot of people and had a lot of good friends he came from a big family who was very close here was this guy from Louisiana that ended up in Austin the two were married for 12 years and they had two sons together who adored and looked up to their father very much in fact Charles's nickname was Disneyland ad because he was so full of life in fun-loving and what I found you know funny was a lot of people described Laurie that way too Colby Melanie her friend from Hawaii Lauri was fun Laurie was a great mom Lauri truly loved and cared about people maybe that is what Charles saw in her the thing that made him fall for her but when we come to know Laurie she doesn't seem like a very fun and loving mother any longer does she Charles Velo was the parent we wish we all had sometimes the parent we wish we could be he was very involved and interested in his children's lives he took them fishing camping two Boy Scouts rowing and soccer he supported them in what they did and Cheryl said that Charles was very athletic and you know he played sports all through college he really liked sports and his kids weren't that into sports or weren't that athletically so Charles didn't try to force them to do something that they didn't want to do and play baseball like he had he just let them kind of choose what they wanted and supported them in it Charles and Sheryl would divorce in 2003 and this kind of breaks my heart a little bit because it seems like Sheryl really has the best things in her heart for Charles and I obviously don't know ended their relationship but to me from what I what I know you seem like a very close family you know two parents two sons love each other active take care of each other and something happened they got divorced if only Charles and Sheryl had been able to work things out he would still be alive today if he'd never met Lori if if him and Sheryl had gone to some counseling and figured it out I really believe that you know he would still be here today and not that that's Cheryl's fault who thinks about that when you're going through a divorce who thinks my husband's gonna go out and meet a black widow and and he's gonna be dead soon nobody thinks that but just hindsight is 20/20 Jarrell remarried three years later and then three years after that Charles met and married Lori when Charles Matt Lori he was Catholic but he converted to the LDS Church for her because it was important to her and this is a big deal to me religion is not a huge part of my life but I would have to really really really love someone and trust in them in order to convert to their religion and Charles did that for Lori he really loved her he wanted to do whatever it took to make her happy but it was only a year that Charles and Lori had been married when Sheryl Charles's ex-wife started to notice that her ex-husband's new wife seemed unstable they shared custody of their two sons so Sheryl had some insight into what was happening behind closed doors Sheryl said quote she just seemed off there were a lot of strange things going on at their home to the point where a judge ordered cameras to be put in their home to protect the children I wish we really had some more insight into what these behaviors were that were going on where a judge felt cameras needed to be installed but so far I haven't found anything to specify what that was if you guys know or have found something please let me know so Cheryl and Charles are in custody hearings for their two sons at the same time that Lori is having these tumultuous custody hearings with Jill Ryan and Cheryl gave an opinion that Lori seemed to enjoy being in court all the time and all the drama surrounding it and the reason Sheryl knew this is because the two custody cases became so intertwined that the judge ended up just combining them Cheryl said quote it was quite add but she loved that's when I learned she doesn't do what she's told if she doesn't want to I saw a lot of that in court do we see a lot of that in court with Lori now the smiling the red lipstick the little tosses of her head every now and then the the micro facial expressions that she wants you to think she doesn't know she's making but she knows she's making them she's doing it for the cameras she loves the attention and the drama completely agree and then suddenly after all this fighting and battling for custody Charles announced that he and Lori were moving to Arizona once in Arizona Charles's sons continued to spend time with their father and Lori school break summers weekend sometimes and they report back to their mother what was happening there Cheryl said quote the way they would describe it is that dad went to work and Lori would leave she has never had a job that I know of other than being a hairdresser before they were married but she would leave and go be with her family or other things so Lori marries Charles who's well off he's wealth he's doing good for himself he's a hard worker and suddenly Lori stops working and she's able to afford this lifestyle that she wanted that she had a taste of and wanted back without having to work so it's really a perfect situation for her and in 2014 Charles and Lori adapted JJ and he was an immediate hit with the entire blended family now Colby said something in the Dateline special Lake we asked Charles and my mom you know is this what you want to do are you sure you know we're pretty much grown not that they were Ty Lee wasn't really that grown she was still young but in general what he meant was they didn't have this newborn baby or a toddler running around it's a lot of work are you sure you want to do this and apparently you know they 100% were and I think a lot of it had to do with JJ's current situation maybe a feeling of obligation to family I don't know if they would have gone out and looked for a child to adopt if JJ hadn't become in a position where he needed a new family any way Colby entirely were very very fond of JJ they loved him enough Colby said it was hard not to love him like it he made it impossible to not just love him with your whole heart and Colby even said that Ty Lee took on a kind of mother role to JJ which you can see in the videos and pictures of Ty Lee and JJ how close they're how much she loved him and how much she felt protective over him Cheryl says her son's also adored JJ and thought of him as their brother and even though they didn't get married in Hawaii in 2014 Charles and Laurie moved with the kids to Kauai where they owned and operated a small juice business and Charles became a youth leader at the local LDS Church there Charles and Laurie really really got along and you know why wouldn't they his main goal was to make her happy whatever it took and she's now married to a well-off man who worked hard so she wouldn't have to who had the means to bring her to live in paradise it was while living there that Laurie met and befriended a woman named April Raymond who we also see interviews with in the Dateline special April and Laurie hit it off according to April they both had kids around the same age they both had been divorced and April described Laurie as really fun to be around really positive full of energy full of life in April says something else that stuck with me she said she felt drawn to Laurie like meeting her was fate like it was meant to be and I think this is the same impact that Laurie's had on her husbands but I think it's calculated she meets someone and she dazzles them with her smile and her energy her her love of life her upbeat attitude she's charismatic she aligns herself with people finds out what they have in common and focuses on that she draws them in and she gets them emotionally invested in this image that she projects which in my opinion is a facade a manipulative sleight of hand to trick people into believing she is someone worth having in their lives kind of like a cult leader according to April Laurie was becoming more and more invested in her religious beliefs during this time but Charles who had converted for her was doing his best but clearly he wasn't as gung-ho as his wife and how can you expect him to be he's only been part of the LDS Church for a couple of years you know and you've been learning this and having it a part of your life and who you were forever April said quote he wasn't that strong dynamic spiritual leader that I think she wanted she didn't feel like they were on the same spiritual level she had this tremendous longing to be with a partner that was at her same level of spiritual understand so what triggers a woman who really hasn't made okay she's got a husband who loves her very much bends over backwards for her basically you know the world is your oyster you're not working you're getting you know your hair blown out every other day you're dressed in new clothes all the time you have children who you love and you know who love you back what triggered her to suddenly become so disenchanted with this relationship that she had with a really good man well this would have been right around the time that Lauri is reported to have become obsessed with Chad de Belle and his books she read them all talked to her friends about them even bought copies of the books for her friends and like gave them these books have you ever had that happen to you where somebody a little buy you a book and it's something that they're super super into boy you're not but they think that once you read this book you're gonna you know be right on board with them and you're gonna feel exactly the same that they do but it's really hard for you to even want to open the book and read it because you're not interested in it so I'm not 100% sure but it seems like Colby was either living with them in Hawaii or spending a lot of time with them in Hawaii but then he moved back to Arizona and he gets married and it was at this point he began to feel there was some sort of competitive or resentful edge in his mother like she was treating him more as a boyfriend than a son and I don't really know what would have brought this on I mean I imagine she felt very close to Colby he was her first child and there is always a very special bond between mothers and their sons maybe she felt pushed aside or replaced when he got married maybe she was jealous of his wife maybe she was afraid his wife would be a woman with a good head on her shoulders and would shine a light on Lori's bizarre behavior turning Colby against her but I definitely did get the feeling from listening to Colby talk knowing what I know about Lauri and situation people who have been in her lives Colby would have felt a sort of obligation he would have felt sort of responsible to Lauri and the way that she felt directly for her happiness even though Lauri had gotten married and divorced several times after having Colby he would have felt almost like he was maybe betraying her by getting married and leaving her so in late 2016 or early 2017 Charles and Lauri back to Arizona and it's here in my notes that I scribbled kawaii is hot for everyone and I have no idea what I meant by that or where I was going with it but yes Kauai is hot for everyone I don't know if I meant hot like temperature-wise or hot like poppin when they got back to Arizona Charles got to work getting a service dog trained for JJ Bailey the Labradoodle who we have talked about in past videos because JJ was special-needs on the spectrum he needed this service dog and Bailey would go on to become JJ's best friend and safe space and as we know after Charles died Lauri tried to sell this dog and when the dog trainer found out Laura was trying to sell this dog he made Lauri give the dog back but if Bailey was so close to JJ and really gave him the relief and the feeling of safety that he needed because JJ struggled with nightmares anxiety why would Lauri try to get rid of this dog that brought her son so much security and relief well as we know back in Arizona things between Charles and Lori would soon sour due to her behavior and new religious zeal Lori began to take unannounced trips out of town it's unknown what she was doing but it's likely this is when she began to connect with the folks over at preparing a people a doomsday prepper group they ran a podcast called time to warrior up when we've talked about this podcast before in in other videos I'm gonna link all the videos in the description box in case you haven't seen them but both Lori and Chad made appearances on this podcast in the fall of 2018 Lori and her niece Melanie had attended a preparing the people conference where they had met Chad de Bell in person and apparently Lori and Chad hit it off it was then that she had decided Laurie had been sent from heaven and he could tell she was a translated being meaning an eternal being who can pass through portals and travel through the world in a different way in my opinion this is really when the whole thing clicked for Laurie Chad started this whole translated being a BS convincing Laurie that she was special chosen making her feel seen making her feel her pulling her away from the people who loved her like her husband who didn't necessarily believe in the crap she was spouting and into the madness later in his divorce paperwork Charles I'll claim that Laurie had called him to tell him she was a translated being a God sent to prepare the 144,000 for the second coming of Christ which would happen in July of 2020 we don't have a lot of time guys it's just a couple months away it was during the same conversation that Laurie let Charles know if he got in her way she'd have to end him and that's completely justified right when you're on a mission from God if someone tries to get in your way they are not good if they're evil because they're going against what God needs you to do therefore they're evil therefore it's okay if you kill them because you're just doing God's work in October of 2018 Laurie asked Chad able to analyze her family to determine whether they had light or dark spirits he responded to her via an email on October 30th with an attached rubric on lighten dark spirits with a list of her relatives and their corresponding spirit levels now what gives Chad the authority to determine whether someone has a light or a dark spirit remember our good friend Julie Rowe we haven't really talked about her since the first video I did on this case months ago but she gave us some insight into why chad is capable of reading people's spirits she says quote the thing is when you have some of these gifts it gets really tricky because you're not living in one dimension you're living in multiple dimensions and Chad's had two near-death experiences so his veil is kind of open which allegedly gives him the reading spirit's ability now i'm going to pull up this crackerjack rubric so i can you know read some of it to you and then we're gonna discuss it okay so it says family history information current numbers on earth at this time each a state-level these totals represent the light spirits the dark has equal numbers we start with a state in the first column and it goes six pi point three five point two five point one four point three four point two four point one three and two and then it shows two columns of males and females and these are supposed to represent how many men on earth are at these levels and how many females on earth are at these levels and if you notice it seems that on the higher levels which means you're like really good there's way more males at all times than there are females like a state level six is there's five males a state level six only two females the state level 5.3 has zero males and zero females a state level five point two is seventy one males and zero females a state level five point one has a hundred and thirty three males and only four females and then as you get into the lower estate levels it looks like there's more females than males in these levels and then you get to level three and two where there's 700,000 males on earth with the state level three and two point three million females and then on a state level two it says billions and billions under males and females he goes on to say most LDS members are level two most bishops and ward leaders are level three most stake presidents and General Authorities are level for most apostles are level five a few are level six the dark side can only match the light numbers not exceed them that is why there are a few fives on earth right now it limits the darks power twos and threes are fluid and can change sides during earth life 4.1 and above have made covenants to their side they rarely switch sides so we're just gonna call the estate levels just levels because I'm not sure exactly what a state levels mean but levels now Chad believed that when members of the LDS Church died they would be reborn and elevate or graduates to the next level and there's always going to be an equal amount of light and dark spirited people to maintain balance of course it makes complete sense so if you're at a high level of light you're extra good and if you're at a high level dark you're extra bad now here's how Chad rated and ranked Laurie's family members including her minor children her first husband was rated as a to light her second husband was rated as a to dark her son Colby was a three light and his wife a three dark Joseph Ryan was given a rating a 4.3 dark and after his name it's written is now sealed away Lori and Joe's daughter Kylie is given the rating of 4 point 1 dark then we have Charles valo who's given the rating of 3 light in parentheses after his name is written 1700s London which i think is supposed to signify a past life of Charles's Charles's first wife Cheryl is given the rating of to dark and chad has rated Charles and Charles sons as well one is a three dark in one is a three light JJ fellow is given a rating a four point two light the highest of the light ratings in this list now it may seem confusing why Charles was rated as a light spirit but Laurie seemed so venomous towards him and that's how I felt at first but then I remembered that at this point Laurie no longer believed Charles was in control of his own body and soul the demon Nick Schneider had taken him over as far as Laurie was concerned Charles was already dead and it is also confusing to me how chad de bal could rate all of these spirits having met none of the people attached to these spirits but I guess when you live in so many different dimensions and your veil is so open it's easy to just pop over and read someone's spirit real quick in reality though Chad most likely developed this list after talking to Lori about each of these people we can see her biases reflected in these lighten dark ratings we've got her first husband rated as a light spirit her second husband as a dark spirit but then their son Colby one of Laurie's favorite people in the world has a dark rating but his wife is rated as being dark a woman that Laurie doesn't seem to be very fond of and has even become competitive with after Colby married her then we have Joe Ryan now sealed away who is a dark spirit most likely a conclusion drawn after hearing about the horrible things he allegedly did to Colby and the obvious hatred Laurie felt towards Joe Ryan and then we have Ty Lee 4.1 dark a very high dark rating for a teenage girl what could possibly be the reason for this Ty Lee has the highest dark spirit of anyone on this list once again we have to consider the timing not only as Ty Lee Joe Ryan's biological child Joe Ryan being a dark spirit but there's been tension between her and Lorie after the death of her father Ty Lee was a teenager and she seemed very mature for her age acting as a second mother to JJ had she been expressing her distaste at the way Lori was behaving had she and Lori gotten into an argument after Joe died and Ty Lee defended her father which caused Lori to feel that her had taken sides the dark side and Chad says in this email twos and threes are fluid they can switch sides at any time during earth life 4.1 and above have made covenants to their side they rarely switch sides according to his conclusion Ty Lee was a dark spirit who had made a pact with the dark side and it was very unlikely she would ever come to the light side why would Chad DeBell a grown man a stranger to Ty Lee sat Laurie against her own child in this way and do you know who told Laurie that her husband Charles Velo had been taken over by a dark spirit named Mitch Schneider Chad Day bell in an email from January of 2019 two months after this preparing a people podcast began and Laurie was getting mixed up with these people Charles bellow filed for divorce from Laurie stating that she viewed herself as a guide preparing for the second coming of Christ we have covered this pretty thoroughly in other videos now place the links to those videos in the description box if you haven't seen them yet something new I discovered since recording those videos is the way Laurie was making moves to remain the beneficiary on Charles Bayliss life insurance even after becoming estranged from him Charles filed for divorce in February and on February 25th he wrote an email to his insurance company which said I request an investigation as I believe it's my soon-to-be ex-wife who fraudulently placed a password on the account I want to change the beneficiary to my sister Ethel Kathleen Woodcock I have an order of protection against Laurie valo as she is physically threatened to me within the last 30 days in another email Charles wrote he said I've been locked out of my own life insurance policy until further notice if anything should happen to me before I get all of this fixed my beneficiary is Ethel Kathleen Woodcock my sister she will use it to take care of JJ I want nothing to go to Lori or any member of her family Lori was removed as the beneficiary but the thing we need to realize is she didn't know that she never knew that as far as she knew when Charles bellow died months later she was still going to be the recipient of a small fortune and money seems to be a motivator for Lori and almost everything she does very ungodly of her if you ask me and why is this important Laurie had gone in and placed a password on Charles insurance account so that he couldn't get in and make any changes I'm just spitballing here but somebody would have had to have called the insurance come pretending to be Charles bellow somebody who had information of his social security number his passwords his pins things like that but also somebody who probably sounded like a man so who do you think Laurie got to call the insurance company using his manly voice along with her knowledge of Charles valas you know social security number and pins and passwords I think it was Alex Cox this is relevant because Laurie and Charles were going through a divorce so Laurie would have to know that Charles would eventually remove her from his life insurance and in my opinion I think she thought changing the password would buy her time until the task of him being killed was completed because she knew it was gonna happen because she and Alex had planned it now at the time of Charles writing these emails Laurie had already left with tighly bringing her back to kawaiii they stayed at the Kauai beach resort the very same place that she and Chad day bailed her future husband will later be caught relaxing in the Sun while Ty Lee and JJ were missing while in Hawaii Laurie reached out to her old friend April who she had kept in touch with and April found Laurie to be a very different person usually so controlled and put together this Laurie was all over the place manic even Laurie told April that Charles had been having an affair and she was leaving him and April found this all really hard to swallow see she had known Charles she'd been friends with him as well when he and Laurie had lived in Hawaii the way Laurie was describing him some did nothing like the man that April knew then Laurie began telling April about her new group of friends from preparing people in April was uncomfortable being a part of the LDS Church herself April found these beliefs to be very divergent and not even close to Mormonism April went on to say quote the Laurie I knew compared to the Laurie I observed after she connected with Chad in the group is night and day apparently Laurie was there to recruit April telling her that she was one of the chosen 144,000 and she needs to come with Laurie and join the others April obviously said no April was also uncomfortable with the way Laurie proudly boasted about how she was screwing with her husband's life she told April that Charles had gone on a business trip and while he was away she had canceled his return flight she seemed happy about it like she had done something righteous because remember at this point Laurie doesn't think Charles is Charles any longer she thinks he is the dark demon Naik's Neider when Charles fine was able to get a flight he got to the airport only to realize his truck had been moved she'd gone to the airport and taken his vehicle when he got home all of his clothes were gone and Laurie had taken thirty five thousand dollars out of their joint bank account and she'd gone she left she went Hawaii this was the same business trip he was on where Laurie had texted him and told him that he was a demon and no longer himself and that he needed to die and this chain of events was a main motivator for him to get her out of his life to Hawaii Laurie had brought with her Ty Lee but she left JJ behind in Arizona with Charles and they were gone for two months once Laurie got back to Arizona Charles was already packing up his stuff and moving out she hadn't told him where she was going she hadn't told him where she was she was gone for two months he had no idea where she was and when she walked in kay Woodcock was there helping her brother move out in cases Laurie came in with her phone out recording as if she was going to catch Charles losing it or something or physically attacking her yelling at her and all Charles did at that moment was break down and cry let's switch gears for a moment and talk about Angela stone another person who was featured on the Stateline special Angela was a Rexburg resident who had been a follower of Chad Gables until she left and was labeled an adversarial person does this remind you of Scientology it reminds me of Scientology anyways April said in the beginning she idolized Chad he was smart well-spoken kind and had a direct line to God her boss was also a part of this group who followed Chad and both Chad and Angela's boss thought they were able to see and read people's light or dark spirits Angela said even at work her boss would link everything that went wrong to evil spirits if QuickBooks wasn't working he would pray and cast the evil spirits out of the computer program these people were Doomsday Preppers they spent thousands of dollars collecting food supplies and survival gear they all believed the people and things around them could be inhabited by evil spirits in fact Chad told Angela that he believed his own wife Tammy de Bell had been taken over by one of these evil spirits and she no longer had control over herself apparently he'd been given a message from the other side that she was supposed to die in a car accident and when she hadn't he knew that she was no longer Tammy she was something else something dark because he can read spirits you know eventually angela was like this is bananas and she left at which point she was labeled adversarial and taken over by the devil she claims she didn't really feel like she was being brainwashed more like she was being programmed for greater obedience which is kind of the same thing I feel on July 11th Charles valo was shot to death by Laurie's brother Alex Cox Charles had gone to Laurie's town house to pick up JJ and as he was putting him in the car he realized he left his phone inside and he went back to get it when he went inside he caught Laurie with his phone snooping through it and he became outraged when she wouldn't give it back to him allegedly obviously I'd be outraged too if if I walked in and somebody had my phone it was going through it and wouldn't give it back to me now the story goes that Ty Lee was in her room and she heard this argument so she grabbed a baseball bat which Charles took away from her proceeding to hit Alex Cox on the head with the bat this is when Alex went to his room got the gun and shot Charles when police arrived Alex was dabbing at a small cut on the back of his head a cut that investigators don't believe came from being hit on the head with a bat held by a physically fit man who played semi-professional baseball now Alex had told the police when they arrived on the scene that Laurie and the kids hadn't been home when it happened but then Laurie pulled up in her car with Ty Lee and told the police that they had been home she just thought it was really important to drive JJ to school after her husband had been shot to death in her home Ty Lee was described by police as being overly calm with an almost apologetic demeanor saying in hindsight I probably shouldn't have grabbed the bat okay so let's say it went down just like this Charles comes in starts arguing with Lori about her going through his phone he grabbed the bat from Ty Lee and whacked Alex on the head with it would that really justify shooting the man to death Ty Lee Laurie and Alex were all brought in for further questioning and then driven home and their behavior was described as downright bizarre Lori seemed very chatty happy-go-lucky as if it was just another day later Lori called Colby at work and casually told him Charles had died from a heart attack Colby was so upset he really loved Charles he felt that Charles was a definite father figure to him and he was obviously worried about how Lori and Ty Lee were taking it so he drove over to their house Kylie answered Dornan started crying and then colby went to go find Laurie who was by the pool on her phone in person Laurie told Colby what had really happened and Colby felt the situation was so off he feel so uncomfortable he only stayed about 45 minutes and told Dateline in hindsight he wished he'd never gone there at all he's had a feeling of unease ever since Laurie also let Charles's sons know that their father had died through text message the text message said hi boys I have very sad news your dad passed away yesterday morning I'm working on making arrangements and I'll keep you informed on what's going on I'm still not sure how to handle things I just want you to know that I love you and so did your dad passed away passed away that's a funny way to put it considering that your brother shot Charles to death in your house allegedly in front of you and you tell his kids this in a text message come on girl come on that's cold even for you they tried to call her no answer they texted her back with questions obviously she only responded with fake answers they had to end up searching the news reports from Chandler Arizona to find out what really happened to their father according to Cheryl she doesn't believe the series of events she said she was married and divorced to this man and he never raised a hand to her he was never physically violent and he didn't have that kind of temper kay and Larry Woodcock also believed that Charles was ambushed that it was planned a plot to get his life insurance money a plot that Laurie had roped her brother into a brother that would do anything for her who had attacked and threatened her husbands in the past Laurie's friend April feels the same way about Alex she always thought he was a bit off and fiercely protective of Laurie he'd do anything for Laurie and he'd often proudly talk about how he tried to take out Joseph Ryan for her a very weird dynamic if you ask me now a friend of Alex's was also featured in the Stateline special her name's Mary and she knew Alex from the Phoenix stand-up comedy circuit where he would often perform in clubs and open mic nights who knew she said she thought of Alex as a little brother almost finding him very sweet very funny a kind person but when she saw the police body cam footage from the day of Charles Val's death she was taken aback she said she had seen Alex on stage enough times to know when he was performing and in that video his mannerisms were off he wasn't behaving as he naturally would It was as if he was acting reading from a script' she could tell that he was lying Mary also doesn't think that Alex would have done this of his own free will instead he would have done this in his role as his sisters protector and defender so Charles's dad Laurie is salivating over this big check she thinks she's about to receive but it doesn't come once she figured out she wasn't getting the money she angrily texted Kay a picture of the beneficiary form and seven weeks after that she visited Colby and told him that she and the kids were moving at first he thought that she meant they were moving houses of course why would you want to stay in a place where someone had been killed but then she told him this wasn't the case she was moving someplace cold and she couldn't tell him where yet at this point I feel like Colby was just done like this is all getting too weird too bizarre he said he was almost happy to hear that they were leaving because he just didn't want to deal with it anymore but he was of course worried about JJ and Ty Lee he wanted to make sure that Lauri was going to give them a safe and stable place and that's really all he could have asked even if he wasn't able to see them or she couldn't even tell him where they were going he wanted to make sure that they had some stability in their lives part of him was really glad to have Lauri further away out of sight and out of mind but he was worried about Ty Lee and JJ as we find out his concerns were very valid okay so we've covered a lot in the second part we're gonna talk about Laurie's moved to rexburg further email correspondence between herself and Chad which shines a light on what kind of things were being put into her head we're gonna talk about Melanie and her new husband Ian and the kinds of things they've gotten themselves into we'll also talk about Alex Cox his death his recently released autopsy I'll talk a bit about Tammy de Bell on how her autopsy is being sought after by Laurie's defense lawyer we're also gonna discuss new revelations from Laurie's
