tim thank you so much for joining me today grab your snacks because we're about to watch coco released in 2017. today we got a family adventure film and i enjoyed buy hi guys it's ange um i also do movie commentaries and tv commentaries i'm so excited to be here thank you for having me excited about this film coco been requested a ton lately on the channel excited to see more pixar films haven't seen any pixar stuff in a long long time i remember when i was a kid yes i was once a kid uh i kind of kind of still am i kind of still am but uh i don't know toy story monsters inc the incredible wall-e cars all of that stuff absolutely loved it excited to see you know a more recent film how the animation has progress you know pixar always top of the line so just really excited about this film don't know much about it actually don't know anything about it do you know anything about the film all i know is that it's really really good and that the music's fantastic but i have not heard i don't know the premise of it so i'm very excited to go into it knowing nothing same thing here saw that it has a 97 rotten tomatoes and so just saying my expectations are pretty high for this film pretty high so i don't think we're gonna be disappointed so we're gonna be watching the whole film but gonna be cutting it down for youtube if you want to see me full-length reaction wanna watch the this little cover that they did it's so good disney presents sometimes i think i'm cursed because of something that happened before i was even born a long time ago i like myself i love what they're doing here he and his family would sing and dance and count their blessings he left with his guitar this is great i love what they're doing here with the narration and the animation it's like stop motion almost but they're using like the flags has it been one shot if i'm correct i don't know if they stopped but wow yeah it's been continuous i think after banishing all music from her life she found a way to provide for her daughter detroit's shoes woman loves her shoes then she taught her daughter to me oh from generation to generation later she saw her son-in-law everybody makes shoes then her grandkids got roped in you see that woman who's my great great grandmother mama milda she does not look happy in that photo and his head is ripped off it's ripped off oh no [Music] nice little family tree right there little girl she's my great grandmother mama coco coco coco there it is that's why it's coco has trouble remember she's just gently grabbing it he has way too much energy for her yeah she's just chilling i have a dimple on this side but not on this side she's mama coco's daughter oh yeah i see the resemblances [Music] come on i know it was just like a bottle only family in mexico who hates music yeah who doesn't like music come on i know honestly be back by lunch miko love you but i get it because it was past experience but i'm pretty sure it's been a while it's been a few generations if i was here i'd be out like all the time to listen to music if i can at home then i'm just naughty home yeah look he's definitely musically inclined i love what they did at the animation of this dog so cute i know i'm not supposed they're the place but it's not my fault greatest musician awareness though i started out i told him nobody wants to be just like him huh but when he played music he made people fall in love with him he had to cool this guitar but my all-time favorite oh okay we got all the colors look at that i love that reveal i like specifically love how like it was like the flashback was a little tv like esque little box and then it kind of just like did a whole cinematic reveal and like filled up the entire screen yeah the ratio seriously you don't want to hear that day-to-day i just can't really talk about any of this at home so look if i were you i'd march right up to my family and say hey i'm a musician did the la cruz become the world's best musician by hiding his sweet sweet skills no that's true that's true and he played out loud what if he gets caught the music competition for dia de muertos you want to be like your hero you should she's gonna get in so much trouble or maybe he's gonna disguise himself that's exactly what i was gonna say yeah can it be a dress-up party maybe show me what you got he was uh you know playing with his mask early in the early scenes so maybe come on we want to hear you let me get it oh no no not even time to do one note oh just getting ashamed i know your tricks mariachi what did he say to you he was just showing me his guitar [Music] he really scares me i know right all right of course i was guessing you know if they make shoes maybe she has like an endless supply of shoes that's why she doesn't care nope she's going back for room a musician's shoes bunch of shoes in the ceiling this is really funny so far and no more plaza but what about tonight he's gonna figure out a way to go a hundred percent you better dia de los muertos is the one night of the year our ancestors can come visit us we've put their photos on the ofrenda so their spirits can cross over set out the things they loved in life mijo i don't want to see you end up like mama cocos papa never oh my gosh my heart he's gone i do understand the mom though it's like she values it so much of course if it's been traditions you know from generation to generation gotta respect it the doggo is my favorite so far is he hiding an instrument dizzy wanted to hear me other than it still works still does her job and this kid knows what he's doing oh look at this oh his hero huh yeah oh my gosh that's adorable and a fire hazard but adorable [Laughter] the music it's it's not just in me it is inspirational let me follow the rules but i must follow my heart typical kid [Music] learning from the pro himself [Music] he's really good just like his guitar from nails from you know old stuff lying around and it still sounds pretty good yeah very impressive never underestimate the power of music what did it take for you to seize your moment i had to have faith oh saying exactly what he needs to hear huh it was up to me to reach for that dream grab it tight make it come true exactly what he needed to hear man probably has listened to this a couple of times i gotta seize my moments yeah let's go i'm gonna that's a step too far you got an instrument no but if i can borrow a guitar musicians gotta bring their own strengths is it so hard for him to borrow someone's guitar oh oh this is beautiful i don't know what he has in mind but he definitely has something i'm sorry smart pretty smart actually that is a big brain right there well technically it's kind of his you know just saying down the line he would have probably gotten it at some point so exactly runs in the fam his eyes are so big so huge he's like so excited asking consent please let me borrow i'm gonna play in the plaza just like you is why i don't like musicians bunch of self-important jerks there is that music competition at the plaza de la cruz winner gets to play at his part oh there's a competition okay so he's still gonna get to play at the party all right love the small details in this film there's probably a ton of stuff we're not noticing right now right right i don't want to see your stupid face sector come on it's come on if it's a band it's not fair it has to be one person yeah and it's like all different types of music too i feel like it's hard to compare but i believe in you again nervous before performance loved it but she hates it because of him uh yeah that's it and probably miguel saying that like music is the only thing that makes him happy probably hit her suddenly there was something in my life that mattered more than you see hey musician to musician i need a face get me into the party oh yeah [Music] he's really a smart kid huh i love it his wits are everything let's go you've got this you are oscar these aren't just old pictures they're our family and they're counting on us to remember them oh my gosh oh [Music] no [Music] [Music] such a good movie what a perfect ending huh i know right family reunion and now they all get to go hey number y'all play music look at his little outfit a freaking amazing ending wow seriously bro better than i anticipated i i thought it'd be good but this was great seriously it was so good and i had freaking like high expectations too like everyone was telling me it was amazing but i didn't even expect it to be like it's better than i thought it was gonna be everything was perfect seriously like everybody got what they deserve i was gonna say everybody got a happy ending but you know what they're like rosa got a belt that was so satisfying and like ugh the amount of tension and tragedy and the whole thing just came together at the end and it was perfect i think the film is perfectly titled coco seriously and it really got me i had trouble speaking ever yet i was like oh okay yeah oh my gosh i literally almost cried when he was singing remember me to to coco beautifully done beautifully done like every aspect of this film i was just like the visuals the story but like the acting was great the music was great like i have nothing bad to say about this film seriously it went perfectly like i gotta say all the humor because there were a lot of little little jokes little aspects here and there and you know again everybody got what they did they deserve you know a lot a lot of emotions a lot of ups and downs yeah i'd say because at some point was so happy but that you know a lot of sad moments yeah i gotta say that especially at the end but i really loved it i really liked how we were like rooting for him to get to ernesto like we were on ernesto's side a good half of the movie and that twist was just like it did not i had not a single clue that that was coming so it was just oh so the same because i know in a lot of these animated films you know it's often pretty obvious if you know where there's like a villain right off the bat or you know where's the villain like throughout the entire movie like i i i did not think oh there's gonna be one specific antagonist you know but then oh oh the hero especially like it wasn't a random character it was the person like we were actually going to meet like the hero so he was on a such high pedestal yeah then oh like people were making fun of how he died like what mature chorizo yeah i know i did not expect i thought he was just going to be like a comedic like sidekick you know yeah comedic relief character yeah and i did not expect him to actually be the but it was like it was so well done because of the whole like the family didn't like him so he wasn't being seen and like all that oh we didn't even get to see a picture or anything they they opened like different different plot points throughout the entire film and like everything got resolved but like perfectly perfectly at the end like it all unraveled in the last last 10 minutes yeah i like films like a lot of films but i love to watch like my favorite films it's like when there's when it's good throughout the entire movie but the last 10 minutes it's just great like beyond great yup yup no like definitely it's you put it so well because it's like there's so many different like it's all the same story line but there's little aspects to it and then it just perfectly coming together in the end not being like rushed or not being too overwhelming and not too complicated it was just perfect it just fit right together and like right at the uh climax too and then just like the song oh perfect got me emotional probably i'm sure you yeah yeah it really got me as much like especially with coco at me and you know i was like oh like you know at some point she was probably gonna go and like when she was gone without her picture i was like oh you know yeah but at least you know we're all gonna remember him so then he crossed at me and just like perfect you know because we were rooting for these characters so we know we were rooting for him like to go like him to be remembered to go back to his family you know never was able to so since he died it's been like super long but he never saw his families i'm like ah great seriously i don't even know what to say because everything what was it again vampire diaries it wasn't as good as this definitely not dev this was amazing yeah just uh the music you know i i just related to that show because the music just like kevin went at random moments but this one was very natural i gotta say like the music was very well incorporated i don't know if i made the songs first it was like let's fit the story with the songs because everything was perfectly done and just like remember me you know with the alzheimer's of coco like like everything was so well while you're talking about vampire diaries something that i realized too just in like you know tv productions and stuff like that i feel like because it's so fast-paced and because they're trying to fit everything all in one episode and try to make it as dynamic i mean to get viewers engaged that you really use the music to try to like force you into an emotion i feel like exactly to force you into emotion but this one just flows it just it was so good and if anything it just complemented the scenes and it was beautifully done and then if it if not complimenting it's the star of the scene which is it's great because it's not like one or the other battling it out
