in today's YouTube video I coached two sisters that traveled all the way from Texas to try our training including Kennedy Fuller who won the national girls soccer player of the year woof these girls can train and what I love about this training session is they're both attacking number tens so all the drills I did were based around that if you enjoy this content it would mean the world to us if Camden Camden Camden and Kennedy all the way from Texas we were just in Texas and they didn't even fancy coming to say hello however I will give them the benefit that out Texas is massive and it's hot there girls now oh my God like I died on the first day but everyone loves soccer there no and who do you play for both both played for the same team what position Center mid or with ten ten ten again so you feel like fighting for the same position yes yes love it right now I've heard good things from coaching who's already coaching this week so I thought you know what we'll get them on the YouTube girls what we're going to do today is a little bit with me over here some technical stuff better Speed and Agility and then we're gonna get you in with the group over there we're gonna actually do a bit of possession stuff today and then obviously a bit of finishing and the best part about today girls is we've actually got goalkeepers so towards the end we'll do a lot of finishing I want to work on with you at the end I might Chuck the Drone off as well how we move in the box and how we can score from crosses and different types of crosses number 10 that's a lot I find a lot of young players struggle with we're gonna do two steps of everything low position on your toes and drive drive make sure it won't looking nice and natural three two one let's go come on eight seconds of work eight some of the best players you just cannot get near them so for you to 15 16 and you're doing a lot of gym work at the minute yeah building strength in your core and your legs so you can boom shift Off the Mark really quick and then number 10 you're always gonna have two three players on you right you gotta think smart play smart but play quick so if you can if you can work on that in the next I would say for you to the next two three years are massive like massive they're gonna make or break get in the gym watch what you're eating all that type of stuff to become a great athlete I feel like now in the women's game men's game everyone's incredible athlete now there's like no excuses so you go one at the top one at the bottom and we're just going to rotate the hips bang bang bang so how got good standards so a lot of players a lot of players will be coached they don't care they don't care if they make a mistake so it's really important that you keep that passion girls it's something movement involved well one a bit more girls is your first such a little bit is bubbling up how do we get rid of that yeah what's a key coaching point in order for me not to have a bubbly first touch middle of all good you're missing one key point good what else open the air I think it's really important that you guys know the coaching points too is that what about balance and being in a low position so one thing I noticed YouTube is you're quite high up so what I want to say is when you're coming out check get lower get lower and then all the other things that you girls said middle of the ball be on your toes but I just want you fire It Go and fire it lower position see how there's no bubble in that gun play even harder had had I want to try and get rid of that bubble okay when I'm in a high position or if my feet are together you just it makes the next phase a bit sloppy whereas if you're a little bit just a little bit wider and lower it's going to just bounce off your foot just feel like when it's harder it's just it just comes off your foot do you know what I mean it's just natural and at the highest level like if you've been watching the Women's World Cup obviously like for me the top teams they fired it really fast so that's what you want to Aspire to be like and that's and that's when it comes harder for opposition to deal with so always in drills like this or any kind of drill where it involves passing we want to try and get the speed up I'd much rather someone play a hard pass and it's misplaced then someone just playing a really soft horrible one because you're not crap you're not trying to inject that intensity into the way you train so even in these little drills I'd much rather have fired it and it goes over there and just play a really slow one because then the intensity is really really soft and the energy goes out of the session okay all right one more added actually you're just gonna come in this time and get a drop pass now a drop pass or a bounce pass what'd you call it in America bouncer what would the bounce pass normally be yeah what though what kind of pace softer yeah so I don't even smacking it back at each other so it's yes gonna coach you on your body shape when to scan when to look and then obviously the quality that you are with the ball what do you think in all those things I just said there comes in order as the most important yeah so I said body position I said scanning and then I said the quality on your ball on the ball which one's the most important that's what you're going that's so the most important one is scanning yes yes okay but then your first touch is bad and you just give the ball away quality scanning body position but what if you don't get the ball so I got a question I like it there's a there's a good argument here and I hope the audio can pick it up as well now you've got a good argument however how many times in a game have you forgot to scan and you're still getting the ball yeah a lot I did that a lot as well towards the end of my career I was playing in the number 10 and I was like holy smokes this is a tough position you've got to be able to do everything I feel like literally everything in that position right so yes like if we can put all three of them and just mold them into one that actually all three of them are so so important for your position right but for me I always say the quality on the ball needs to come above everything so for example you are so right your scanning will dictate where your body position and where you're going to pick the ball up right it could be in a pocket space and then you dictate your body position from that but you could do all of that right and then you first touch is bad and you've gave the ball away and me and Shane and Jules we bang on about the best players don't give the ball away they just don't so sometimes in the game you might forgot to scan so then you so then you just play with what you see so imagine I'm going that way and I haven't looked at all I'm going to use my full vision in my eye so I'm looking at the balls there but I can still see you Kennedy yes I got that right all right do you understand so sometimes in the game you might forget to scan then we work with what we've just got in front of us so can we focus really on the quality of the ball first and foremost in it and then everything else will just fall into place okay so the first part it's going to be maximum two bounces could be one but go one set two and then I'm gonna fire it and give a color so if I say yellow take your touch to out of the box towards yellow try not to go over this play it back to me play back to me and then you're just gonna get out on the angle this is the first part of the drill scan your shoulder try and give me the number on the iPad as soon as she receives the ball Camden you pull off the pole play the furthest foot take a positive touch forward you go to the pole you come through two bounces one set two I might say red shift it to Red open out again check your shoulder walking on the iPad as soon as she receives it Kennedy then I want you to move off the pole bang and we rotate in and out quickly okay this is the first part of the drill it's super simple yeah so if I say yellow you just touch it to Yellow good and then if I say red just get out towards red okay so we're just working on the top two discs for now any questions all right on the back you're ready you're on your toes okay three two one play one set two set red move it play second angle what can you see good touch play set good positive touch forward play here we go two bounces one set two go yellow move it play good second angle try and give me that number play set positive great touch let's go come on keep demanding the ball girls good yellow play set great touch second angle good touch play try and direct that touch where you want to go play let's go let's focus on quality for now good red play set body shape good turn play go get rid of that bubble if we can good like it nice Kennedy good yellow move it play second angle second angle get rid of this bubble touch good no bubbles girls get it rolling along the ground rolling along the ground yellow touch second angle good set play good and rest got the coach Kennedy got the idea you go to Coach Kennedy got the idea of the drill can you see this touch here this touch is bubbling so then it makes that pass a little bit sloppy what I want to see in here is get lower middle of the ball and then can we focus on playing that foot so then you can get a nice positive touch forward okay so the first thing is we want to eliminate the Bobble second thing say it's yellow the second I play the pass what do I need to start thinking about then before that thank you so we want to start opening up before we can do that ideally because you two are very good and very smart can we try and get two scans in why yeah the game changes every second girls every half a second so I'll show you how you can get two in because if you play it back firm enough to me I'm gonna have to take a touch that gives you enough time to get two looks in so if it's yellow I go there I fired it and go one set two bang so there's a little bit more detail now however if the ball is traveling because I'm going to be playing it firm and you haven't done the second scan don't do it because then your touch is going to be off you could even miss the ball a lot of young players play they look too late they miss the ball okay so if you forget to do the second one again back to what I said at the start the quality of the ball is more important okay so two things there just try and get two scans in now and fix your body shape as quickly as possible if you don't fix your body shape quickly you won't be able to get too scans in because if you like this ah can be too hard to see that as soon as you do that it's easier to see that okay right and then obviously try and get rid of the bubble out of that first shot three two one play one set two good red move it oh my God a bad pass good here we go yes good touch play set good there's that bubble again bang one four bang four set same thing okay now if you can it's very hard today because it's sunny can you try and give me the number and the color so it might be five white three green why do you think that is why would I ask you to just no yeah so ignore the number and ignore the color that's got absolutely nothing to do with football okay the number and color has nothing to do with football but why would I ask you to look for two things rather than one almost is a simple answer when you look over your shoulder girls what are you looking for good there's a better answer to that you're looking you are so close if you instead of the word next can you replace the word next with best there we go that's why we look over our shoulders so when you're ever your coaches back in Texas say why do we scan for me that's the best answer you can give so I can make the best decision or find the best option you know what I mean a lot of young players will just say oh to see where the Defenders are yeah but what about your next move what are you gonna do so the best players so if you look at Premier League players like you're Kevin De bruyne I've got so much analysis on Kevin De bruyne that is what he's amazing at making the best decision not the safe decision he makes the best one and he come out and said in an interview I'd rather play the risky pass which could create a goal scoring opportunity then go for the safety pass so he was talking about past completion how he thinks it's a load of nonsense and I agree sometimes if you're a number 10 you have to make things happen you've got to try and score set goals up you've got to try and play the killer pass so that is what we when we scan that's what we're looking for we're trying to find the best option so by me asking you to find number and color your brain's having a think about two things rather than one and that's why we do it okay a lot of people on our YouTube they they don't quite get the iPad thing but it's there to force you to do it if the iPad wasn't there you would potentially do this and there's no way you're going to be able to in a game actually look and process that that's why that's why it's there okay so number color this time so to process more things if you can't see the color don't stress one set two yellow play Move good back to the middle back to the middle bounce drop deep
