good morning everyone welcome to this facebook live with kimbervale i am kim and this is jeanette hello and uh janette is here with me she is our head digitizer here at kimber bell and so i said jeanette would you come and do this facebook live with me because you know between the two of us we can tag team the questions and uh that's what this is all about today um as you know clear blue tiles jeanette is lunch finally out there this has been almost two years in the making and to have it actually headed to shops right now is pretty exciting i think that's way exciting we're really excited in our department oh yeah oh yeah a whole lot of digitizing going on a lot of testing and all the things that make a product uh come to come out to the market is pretty exciting stuff for all of us and we hope you're just as excited i know there's been a lot of buzz a lot of talk about clear blue tiles and of course the questions are coming and we expected that what are they why would i need them and all kinds of other questions we've compiled that list that we've seen so far but you know if you've got additional questions i'm going to be monitoring uh live here with along with you and jamie is monitoring as well and she will help field some of those questions because now is your time to ask them now some people have said well i don't have the clear blue tiles in my hands yet i'm not even sure what to ask well they're they're coming your way and we'll do a lot more the of these types of q and a's because we want you to have the best possible experience with quilting your quilts and your projects all on your embroidery machine and that's what clear blue tiles is all about right jeanette absolutely yeah so um first of all let's go ahead and talk about what why you would use clear blue tiles let me just check my facebook feed here and i'm not seeing anything come up quite yet but here we go um why would you use them and what are they well let's first show the packaging so janelle why don't you talk about the packaging here sure the this is the essential set comes in this really fabulous i just love the packaging we came up it's the magnet closure you can hear that just snap closed so this box i would keep personally i would keep this yes i would keep my stuff in here well and i think it really is created to be like a storage case right because we've got this beautiful blue cord here at the top and with that magnetic closure they're not going anywhere right you could just set this on the shelf like it's a book and it would just stay there really really nice so right away when you open it you see the kimber bell clear blue tiles user guide so this user guide is just has chock full of information oh yeah so much information in the user guide very detailed step-by-step pictures that you've come to know from and expect from kimber bell uh that is all in there for sure so much information and then on the other side you can just get a sneak peek of what's in the box you can see one of the clear blue tiles the rest are tucked safely behind you do get a couple of slap bands so in our testing when you have that extra quilt sandwich hanging on the side of your hoop those quilt those flat bands just held it in place so well and of course all of the designs come on the usb and then you have a two of the water soluble pens yeah so a whole bunch of tiles in here so jeanette why don't you talk about the difference between the essentials set which is right here and then we have another set that is the expansion set right here so there's two different ones there are so you have to have the essential set that's why we called it essential and then the expansion set expands on the essential set it so it is for the bigger sizes come in the expansion set but you have to have the essential set because the usb and the user guide all come in the essential set so the expansion set is just for you to utilize the bigger designs with your bigger hoops well yeah and even if you have the larger hoops you're still going to want the smaller tiles for a whole variety of reasons which we'll talk about here in a minute now the idea uh came to came to us you know one night in the middle of night right um and we said there's got to be an easier way to quilt your your quilts and quilt your quilts um with the look of traditional quilting all on the embroidery machine and when i say the look of traditional quilting what i'm talking about is this go ahead and show them this here we're talking about having your top layer of fabric which is your quilt your batting which is behind that and then your backing which is behind that and when with traditional quilting as you know if i were to take this to a long arm machine or even a sewing machine i could quilt through all three layers and i would see my quilting on the front as well as the back but what we have been doing and what is still existing out there and still there's a need for it is that there's two different types of quilting we'll be talking about with kimber bell and that is block by block quilting okay um it's called block by block quilting and the second would be clear blue tiles quilting okay there's a difference clear blue tiles it's like traditional quilting you're going to see it through all three layers block by block quilting is more like something you would see like on one of our heavily appliqued and embellished quilts where you actually quilt block by block right so you're doing one block at a time you're quilting the background and then you're adding your applique onto it and then when it's all said and done you put your project together and then you use uh what we would call stitch in the ditch and then put this together but what we're talk and there's still a need for that yes for sure and that's why on all of the quilting designs that you're going to download from either kimberbell.com or find in this essential set you're going to get both types of quilting in there yeah same design but you're going to get the files that are that work perfectly with clear blue tiles for your traditional quilting and you're going to get the files for block by block quilting so that's pretty exciting too it is and if you've purchased any designs already yes that are the blue designs yeah you can go now and download the cbt files yeah clear bluetooth cvt clearance right yeah and so you did it all so that's one of the major questions that we've been asked uh and that is uh are these the same designs on the essential set as what i've already been downloading at kimberbell.com and the answer is no no they're not they're exclusive to this set the designs you get in the set you won't find anywhere else they're in this set and then the designs that are on camera.com are not in clear blue tiles right now right well they're just not they're not part of this set okay but the good news is is that whatever you've downloaded in the past or in the future at kimberbell.com you're going to get all the files all the files you're going to get the clear blue tiles files and you're going to get the block by block files and if you've done this in the past and you're going well gosh i already bought them and now i want these files no worries because you're going to get them all we have we have a really amazing it department here at kimber bell and they've been working really hard to make sure that if you've downloaded anything in the past if you log into your library at kimbervale.com you're going to find all the files for clear blue tiles and block my block which is pretty exciting okay so with that being said let's talk real briefly about what a clear blue tile does right so i'm going to go ahead and open up this box do we have a clear blue tile all already out of its package oh we do here just one minute i'll be right back aha here i've got them right here okay now i want you to think about this let's let's go ahead and pull this one out here this says that it is a 4 by 12 block okay now i want you to think about this well let's let's i'll say that in a minute here when i go to place this on my quilt i would always start out with the biggest tile that my hoop will fit okay i'm going to start out with the biggest tile that my hoop will fit and i will start in the center this is called all over quilting all right let's go ahead and go to this camera right here this is what we would consider all over quilting and that means from one end of the quilt to the other end of the quilt we want just a fun design and we want to see we don't want to see where it ends or where it begins it just looks like an all-over design right so i would take the tile that fits my largest size hoop possible and i would start smack in the middle okay and i would place this tile down on there and then i would mark it in a few different places okay now we've got lots of videos about this so i we won't go into detail here but we've got them all found on youtube and at kimberbell.com and i go through very step-by-step how this is done but you're gonna do a series of markings okay and then we hoop it according to those markings and we now stitch our design and we work our way out to the edges all right so we would we would we we say we mark it or we place it with three things we place it we mark it we quilt it it really is that easy right it is so we place it we mark it we quilt it all on our embroidery machine and we continue this process until the entire quilt is finished now what we suggest is actually that you place it and mark it and then place it again and mark it and place it again and mark it and then you can quilt all at the same time all right it's pretty cool this one has that you can see too okay it's marked in several places you can see we've marked it a lot already oh it's ready to quilt oh yeah super simple now this means that you can you don't have to do any math formulas you don't have to make sure that your ends on at one quilt design is matching up perfectly with a quilt the ends of another quilt design it's an all over quilting and it makes it so simple i want you to think about it like this okay do you like do you ever like to stamp with rubber stamps that you've done that yeah if you've ever done a rubber stamp you know what i'm talking about you've got a block of wood and it's got a rubber stamp at the bottom of it and you go to take that rubber stamp and you dip it in some ink and then you stamp it on your card and you place it exactly where you want it to go on your card you know where it's going to drop you know where it's going to go think about it the same way same way with clear blue tiles you take your blue tile think of this as a rubber stamp and if i were to dip this in ink and boom place it on my quilt that's exactly where your quilting is going to land and what's really cool is that jeanette and her awesome team of digitizers have made it possible so that your quilting backgrounds are specially digitized to fit these types of tiles so it's going to butt up right up to pretty close to the edge so that one tile after another tile after another tile you're never going to be able to see where it begins and where it ends it looks like all over quilting which is so exciting right it is now besides all over quilting you can do custom quilting so what i mean by that is here let's go ahead and take a close-up of this if i've got all these different blocks here and i go you know what i really want to do a floral design in this square well this is an eight by eight inch square so i would take my eight by eight inch block i i just happen to pull that one out there okay i would take this i would put it right there i would place it i would mark it there's a few different markings you're gonna do then i would pull it away and i would pull up my 8x8 file on the machine and boom it's going to quilt just within those parameters of where i laid my tile but say i want to do a different custom quilting design over on this 4x4 block i would take my 4x4 block i don't have that right here in front of me but i would put or my 4x4 tile i would place that well let's pretend that's 4x4 right i would place that there i would mark it and i would hoop it and i would pull up my 4x4 design and stitch right there so maybe over here i did swirls and flowers but i want to do bumblebees over here so i'm going to do my bumblebee right there in that block and then maybe i come over here and i go you know what i want to do a 4 by 12 design right here and in this one i'm going to do loops well i'm going to take my 4 by 12 tile place it there because again my friends it's the stamp right if it's placed there it the quilting is going there so i'm going to place that there and i can do custom quilting so that's it in a nutshell but again if you're going whoa that's a lot to think about no worries we've got you covered because we've got a whole lot of videos and what's cool is that when you purchase this um essential set and you go through the user guide that's right here there are all kinds of qr codes you know what a qr code is let me show you what it looks like we even have it right here on the the binding edge of this box right there all you have to do is put your phone up to it you don't have to have a special app you just put your phone right there here i'm gonna i'm gonna oh here we go jeanette here we go if she were to place that right there it's gonna automatically scan it and boom watch what happens she's gonna have videos come up here we go loading loading loading all right and scroll down and there you're gonna see all the videos right there so we don't we want you to have the best experience possible with this okay so that's an overview but now for the questions what kinds of questions you have throw them at us because we want to be able to help you all right um when are they being sent they started they started being sent last week to quilt shops so find your favorite quilt shop either whether it's a brick and mortar store or a store that sells online and you can order clear blue tiles they are being shipped all over the place i have to tell you something really exciting jeanette this last weekend i had an opportunity to test this out if you will on a group of about 200 women so for the very first time you know we've done a whole lot of testing even within our product development lab but for the first time i could bring it out to a big group of people who have never even touched this never even seen what this is about and i tried it out with them and if you were part of the group i'd love you for you to you know make a post on facebook and let us know how you liked him but the response was overwhelming it was so cool and i got a lot of this first i had people that said i didn't know that i would want these when i first saw them being advertised i thought what is that and i'm not sure i would need them or use them and the overwhelming response was after they tried it they're sold they were absolutely sold on them because they could see the potential of quilting all of their unfinished projects really quickly and easily with clear blue tiles so that was a that was one thing that i absolutely loved another thing that i kept hearing was people saying i thought it would be confusing but it was so so easy and i can just do this really quick and fast and now i've got my projects done from beginning to end so that was pretty cool to hear too a third thing that i continue to hear through this group was i have a long arm machine i didn't think i would want this with clear blue tiles because i got a long arm right right no problem long arms are still amazing machines and they definitely serve their purpose for long arm quilting um there's no doubt about that right but these long armors who were die hard long armors are saying i'm buying clear blue tiles because they could see doing some a lot of their smaller projects pillows table runners stable toppers baby quilts lap size quilts things that they didn't want to take the time to load onto a a big and bro long arm machine they want to do it with clear blue tiles plus you've got all the designs so cute quilting that was pretty cool really exciting stuff so jamie tell us what kinds of questions are coming in yes so we have a question about um how many separate files are there in the packaging for the clear blue tiles okay how many separate files are in there for the clear blue tiles so there is a difference between files number of files and number of designs so jeanette why don't you go ahead and answer that sure so the designs we have four different seasonal designs and then we have um some generic or basic designs we have a loop and a swirl swirls and then we also have a loop and a swirl border so and then all of those different designs come in all of the different sizes so is it like 22 sizes so it depends on if it's like for a border or if it's for a block there are so many files on here and then you multiply that by all the major machine brand types and like that's a lot of files literally thousands and thousands right i mean not on this but what we had to then update with a kimber bell website with yes all of these files so you're getting um some some um exclusive embroidery designs but then they come in all the sizes ranging from like a two by two and everything in between all the way up to a nine by fourteen eight by four eight eight by fourteen eight by fourteen size so you're getting all all of those yeah so six different block designs and two different border designs yeah and then we threw in some extras oh yeah we threw in some things called bitty blocks oh they're cute they're cute i can show you one here on one of the the quilt patterns we did um they're bitty blocks and so think about it like in a little easter egg you know when you go to quilt something and and or maybe your long armor like throws in little surprises um throughout it well we've threw in some surprise little bitty blocks and they're the two by two inches but they make not only for good surprises but they are fun for corner blocks too or cornerstones so let's take a look i don't know how well you can see this but we did background quilting designs we did this a custom uh table topper here so we did a different design here in the tree then we moved over and did a different design here here we go maybe the shadow helps a little bit to see that a little bit better there we go see the bumble bees in there and then we used one of the border designs and with the loops but then in the corner we did the little bitty block and that's just a cute little bumble bee buzz in a way so anyway that's a baby box so there's there are quite a few designs as far as number of tiles there are is it 26 different tiles let me let me double check my math here 26 different tiles that are found in here and i don't know you know we we didn't show you behind here but when you open this up there are all of your tiles 26 of them and that is just in the essential set and then in the expansion set how many do we have yeah expansion has 20. 20 additional tiles in the expansion set all right now in addition to uh those designs you're also going to get a bonus project for this darling table runner is that so cute and we made it so that no matter what season of the year it is and what season you're making this in um but just by switching up the colors it can look totally different so for example we've got a winter scene it's the same table runner but now we did it in some blues and grays and such and then we have a halloween one let me see if i can find that one real quick no i don't have the halloween hair but we think about this in like oranges and blacks and purples that me and we did black trees that was super cute and then we did one for spring and some spring colors but what's cool about this is that these blocks the tree blocks and the house blocks are actually pieced in the hoop as well and so those um oh here we go we've got all four of them right there let's take a look see how just by switching up the fabrics it just looks like a totally different uh seasonal table runner very very fun and so we used um we were able to piece these blocks all in the hoop too and so you're going to get those files too to piece the houses and the trees you sew it all in together and then you break out those clear blue tiles and have a whole lot of fun with quilting yes all right other questions yes so if someone has already purchased background quilting on the website do they work with clear blue tiles yeah okay the question was if somebody has already purchased uh background quilting at kimberbell.com do they work with clear blue tiles and the best answer is yes yes yes yes they all work with clear blue tiles because uh you'll want to go to and download them again you'll want to go to your library at kimbervale.com and log into your account and there by the magic of some itf fairies and a whole bunch of times and a whole lot of time and an amazing product development team behind the scenes they made it so that all the files that you've already downloaded before now have the clear blue tiles files as well so again you get block by block files which is something more let me grab the quilt block by block still exists so that's upside down there um that's what you want to use block by block for something like this that has heavy applique and you want to quilt before your applique is added that is for block by block that is on the website on your on your in your library but if you want clear blue tiles in addition to that it's already there for you already there no extra cost on that we just put them all in there for you we should mention too though that this is for the blue designs on the website so yeah what do i mean when i say blue design okay i'm going to pull it up here because yes i want you to see what jeannette is talking about this is kind of cool so i'm going to kimberbell.com and then i'm going to head over to oh products and background quilting and i'm going to look at all background quilting designs and what do you know do you have you noticed and you have any of you ever wondered huh some of them are on orange fabrics and some of them are on blue fabrics i have good news for you my friends jeanette do you want to tell them what the favorite is the good news is all of the blue fabric designs work with clear blue tiles ah did you get okay mind blown okay that's why that's why that's why they're blue yeah that's really easy we had a little bit of you know we had some rhyme to our reason there for doing that we if it's on a blue fabric if you find it at kimberbell.com and it is stitched on blue fabric blue fabric means clear blue tiles right i mean they still can work with the block by block method for sure those blue fabrics but now clear blue tiles all the blue fabrics work with clear blue tiles and the reason is because they are an all over quilting design yes there's no outer edge right right now orange fabrics guess what they work really well with orange pop rollers is anyone's mind blown because they are the sizes the same sizes as orange pop rulers there you go now you know now you know okay so more questions someone is asking how the quilt sandwich goes together like how do you do you need stabilizer what happens there okay someone asked how does the quilt sandwich go together and do you need stabilizer the good news i'm going to answer the stabilizer part and then i'll have jeanette talk about the um layers the good news is no stabilizer is needed for this so if you're thinking boy if i'm going to do a quilt that's going to take a lot of stabilizer no no stabilizer is needed because you're going to you're going to have your three layers your quilt sandwich together and that becomes your stabilizing type of product so jeanette you want to talk about that sure so quilt sandwich is um your backing fabric goes down first and in the book we do recommend the wider um a wider width on that and but if you don't have that you can just sew a piece of scrap fabric on them because that's not probably we recommend like about a three inch um extra width on that yup just so when you hoop that you have an extra room but totally you can get around that which is sewn on extra and then the next layer in your quilt sandwich is going to be project batting yeah and so we used of course the kimber bell project batting you will find this at your favorite quilt shop we highly recommend i can't recommend this enough that this is the batting you use because it has the right amount of loft to it it's not too thick it's not too thin it's just right and then of course your quilt top goes on the top so you can put these together in several different ways you can spray base them with basting spray or basting powder basting powder you can also pin baste it if you want to do that just make sure you remove the pins in the area that you're going to stitch and when you hoop it yeah there's lots of different ways to base those layers together we do go into several ideas in the book but yeah basting spray basting power powder that kind of thing yeah and then we actually use the kimber bell paper tape to tape the edges down so that your presser foot doesn't lift that up because nobody wants that right okay other questions yes can you show how the slap bounds work how the slab bands work you bet okay break these ones out yes okay so these slap bands now you've been using our slap bands for the kimber bell stabilizer but now you can also use them in your quilts i'm going to show a quick picture here this is on the cover so that might help too to see but jeanette's also going to show it here in real time so you know underneath you only have so much space underneath the throat of your machine and so um if you've got all that extra bulk of the quilt you want to roll it up so it doesn't get in the way and then you slap the slap bound around it just like jeanette is about to show absolutely so if a little closer this way if i was going to hoop right here on the center of cross hairs so my hoop is fitting this area all of this is extra and so you can just take the slap bands and you can't quite hit but just like that wraps around the excess of your quilt sandwich just keeps it nice and tucked and tidy right there next in the throat of your machine so just yeah just keeps it from going anywhere and it was actually because we were looking for things in the office and i had brought these other quilt clamp things um from home that were like specifically for this purpose and they just were so bulky and thick and didn't like actually squeeze it very well and then i was like look here's a slap band from the stabilizer let's try this and it worked so not good why not so we haven't made i love that great question okay what else um does the marking pen wash away easily yes yeah so it they are blue marking pins they've been designed to wash away with water um you certainly could use a you know a friction marker um or like a chalk marker um that kind of thing but uh although yeah water soluble ones wash away just fine i would just i probably wouldn't soak your quilt i would do more of a spray it spray it with some water and it'll disappear yeah great question all right if you're going to do a block by block method how do you layer oh great question okay and you're on a microphone now so we don't have to repeat it right if you're going to do a block my blog okay how are you going to layer let me grab my quill again all right so um jeanette do you want to sure about that it's all done in the hoop of your embroidery machine so with the block by block method you hoop stabilizer and there's a batting placement line you put the batting down and it tacks it down and then you cut you trim the batting so it's not in your seams yeah we don't want extra bulk in those seams and so it is digitized to remove that extra bulk i love that yes so even if you peek at the back of this quilt all the fancy quilting stitches are not on the back so when we put this together we piece it together the quilted blocks are pieced together and then we make a quilt sandwich to layer the back on and we only stitch in the ditch yeah so what we mean by stitch in the ditch and that's to hold yeah to hold the back on is we're talking about this is what we would consider a ditch it's that space be oops that space between uh your quilt blocks right and so you've got to somehow get that backing on there and so what you do is stitch in the ditch afterwards and then you've got your back that it doesn't look like traditional quilting and that's where people want to use a different type of method but for something like this it works really well it's a wall hanging it's it's perfect for that so stitch in the ditch is the method you would use but with clear blue tiles if you use that that strategy then you'll see the quilting on the front as well as the back okay other questions yes what is the largest tile size in the expansion set okay largest tile size 8x14 8x14 yeah now a lot of people are going to ask and i think we should do some additional videos on this in maybe a week or two once people start receiving their boxes because you're going to say well what tiles can fit in my hoop and as we know all hoops are not created equal right and so they all have different uh what we would call embroidery fields so we walk you through an exercise in the book um on how to find which tiles are going to fit in your hoop and it's all dependent all dependent on your particular brand's embroidery field yeah you can't just take the tile and your hoop and say this one fits inside of us yeah it doesn't work like that yeah so we'll we'll hold your hand through this we'll walk through it and we'll do some additional education on that as well it's not hard and once you figure it out once you're like oh okay i know which ones i i can use right absolutely but it's even a worksheet there's even a worksheet so you fill out the worksheet and then you fill it out you got it right now you increase hoop sizes and then you're going woo a whole another world is opened up to me right all right great great questions keep them coming okay so if i only have a 4x4 hoop can i quilt a big quilt on my machine i love that question i'm gonna do the happy dance this is the beauty of clear blue tiles my friends it's because no matter what hoop size you have you could have a four by four five by seven six by ten eight by twelve eight by eight nine by nine nine by four it doesn't matter it doesn't matter all the hoop sizes you can do it with clear blue tiles because now yes four by fours you're gonna have a lot more hoopings but can it be done absolutely and because all of the designs are to the exact same scale as one another you won't be able to tell in the end oh she quilted that with a four by four or she cooled it out with a nine by fourteen it's going to look the same it's just going to require a few more hoopings but there's yes you can do tricks too so it doesn't look very stamped yeah yeah and we we will go into that in the book too so there's some some little tips and tricks for that but boy it's so easy that's what people kept saying at this conference i was at it was so simple to do much easier than they thought and they were excited that even with an entry-level machine that might have a four by four you can still do this and that was something that was uh could only be done in the past with the large size hoops well now you can do it no matter what size hoop you have okay okay are there files for every machine type you betcha every machine type a r t d s t e e x xxx did i get them all i knew i hope yours were set there's nine nine different so all yeah we got you covered if yeah if you have any questions let us know but about your specific but it's all there yeah is there a recommendation for how big of a quilt that you would want to do yes yes about 60 by 60 60 by 60 largest size now could you do larger than the 60 by 60 yes our product development team is like wait wait wait again no no no no okay yes you it's possible but we will tell you this based on um a lot of experience with this testing we found that a 60 by 60 or less gives you the best possible results because once you get larger than that and this would go with any type of quilting design you get some drag you get some pull because of the heaviness of that quilt right yes can they get way heavier they get heavy so maybe your bumble bees that were once like full on bumble bees will now look like squished bumble bees the bigger the quilt is right because your needle is dragging because of the weight of the quilt so yeah the the quick answer i guess is 60 by 60 or less gives you the best possible results okay okay can you just clarify again the difference between the blue designs and the orange designs on kimberbell.com okay are you ready for this okay orange designs if you see quilting designs on orange fabric that means you can use that with definitely the block by block method okay and the reason being is if you look at all those orange fabric quilt designs you're going to see an outline around the edge because it's something that um let's say for example a chevron design right a chevron goes up and down right and then when it gets to the end it has to travel somewhere so that needle travels down and then goes boop boop boop boop how do you like my sound effects it's so nice and then it gets at the end and it travels down again and it gives the end and travels down again right and normally and so you would see an outline right and that just gets sewn into the seam yeah on a block by black so if it's on orange fabric it means it has an outline around it based on the design it is and it works perfectly with orange pop rulers or any type of block by block project which is something like this but if it's on blue fabric if it is stitched on blue fabric it will work for the block by block method absolutely yes but now it will also work with the clear blue tiles with clear blue tiles okay so there's another color fabric online that dark oh yeah the gray the dark gray fabric if you see that that's always a border design all right so there you go now those work with clear blue tiles do they yeah yes they do yes they they do so part of the blocks that you get is you get finished block tiles and you get finished border tiles so there are some of the clear blue tiles are specifically sized to go with the borders yeah so the borders were great there you go i have a machine with a with the projector but i still benefit from the clear blue tiles yes yes okay so if you've got like a top of the line machine like a uh well there's a lot of them out there i'm not going to name this we're not going to but it's like it has a camera feature on it i know a lot of people asked about that you want to talk about why you would use those sure so in our basic steps of doing the quilt when we talked about this the very first step is that you mark the quilts so that is the part that you can't do with the fun camera on your machine the clear blue tile helps you know on your quilt right where you're going to mark it and where you're going to place it the next part of the steps where you actually quilt it that's where your very fun camera comes into play is that then you can exactly line it up with the crosshairs you've already drawn the marks that you've made using the clear blue tiles so the camera will still be so helpful but that you still need the tiles to be able to know where the quilting is going to go on your quilt okay great good question um there's a few questions about will the tiles work with other designers quilting backgrounds okay uh jeanette i'm gonna put that to you perfect so uh our quilting designs are digitized especially for the same exact sizes that the tiles are so they exactly match and so other brands wouldn't exactly come in those sizes so if you use the tiles you might overlap your quilting design or you might have gaps in your quilting designs well and you the beauty of the clear blue tiles and how they're digitized the files are digitized is that there's not like hey go ahead and match this point endpoint to this starting point it's all just kind of flows together so you can't tell starts and ends and that's you know other quilting design files out there may have that start and end and it just doesn't work in conjunction with clear blue tiles like i we would want the look to be yeah okay great question keep them coming i love it yeah so what is the biggest size in the essential set biggest tile size um eight by ten i believe let me double check okay so the sizes included are listed right here at the below the um at the bottom of the box i should say and they're also there there we go and they're also there we go um listed on our website so you can see the exact ones but what i'm looking at here is that it goes up to an eight by ten okay for the tiles and or for the block tiles for the border tiles it goes up to a six by ten and the reason for the six by ten is because on our border tiles think about this if you're looking for a border and or sashing we do widths of strips right you might have one inch sashing and a five inch border block right or you might have two inch sashing strips or inner borders and a six inch uh border block so on our border block tiles they are all to the width of what we put in our instructions so you get a one inch two inch three inch four inch five inch six inch all the way up to a six inch uh border block okay and then the lengths of those border blocks coincide with the lengths of your hoops so that's why the six by ten is there for the biggest okay wow i think we've covered them okay real quick though before you go i want to show you a couple of examples of that idea that when you stan take a block and it's that stamp right um you can do so many more things than just quilts look take a look at this i'm so excited if you have like a tote bag we just took our kimber bell tote bag here and you know that our side seams come opened already but look what we did with the background quilting files this is for halloween and we used the quilting designs just to decorate this tote bag now you have a trick-or-treat bag isn't that so cute no stabilizer no no raw edges no oh well no raw edges there is a raw edge there but you there's no nothing um special about this except that we show you how to place it on there it's a placing tool if it lands underneath that blue tile it's going to quilt right there so you can take any type of finish project like this or like this apron apron so darling if you want to do like oh the hem of an apron would be so cute right with this quilting design this is a floral swirl i just place my block let's see where i'm going to grab a block here so again i want you to think about it like the stamp okay this is your stamp so to speak if i placed it boom right there it's going to quilt the design right there then i want to move it along the other part of the border it's going to quilt it i move it further along it's going to quilt it wherever that lands look how cute that is the bottom hem of the apron but not only that the ties the ties the apron ties are so good so our awesome product development team had so much fun with this they said oh my gosh we could take the one inch sashing border tiles and right along the ties and the neck the neck of this there we go we can place that on there and now you have embroidered a really cute design on there now take a look at this oh we took our tote bag okay and we made a pocket but we quilted this christmas design oh so so cute [Music] right do you know where else we use that where else do we just stop catching that oh yes that's cool yep it's for candy cane lane you got it we took a garden apron and did the same thing now this is one of those quilting designs that are actually found as a download at kimberbell.com there we go so cute so cute cute little tea towel yes we just have that tea towel we have an amazing product development team don't we they are awesome they are awesome now this one i just want to show you that i was just having fun with just a square piece of fabric and maybe i'll turn it to the other side so that you can see the design on the back but i'm going to make this just into a square table topper by just taking a solid piece of fabric you notice there's no piecing in there there's there's no applique there's no piecing i just wanted a really fun cute whimsical design and quilted it and then i'm just going to bind it and bam i've got a cute little table topper it'd be cute for a pillow yeah super fun oh look at this one between a pillow speaking of pillow took the flyer flies you guys remember that from red white and bloom and made a little mini pillow bench buddy and with the quilting lookout darling so so cute okay am i missing anything have we covered it all with all the pieces that you brought um let me look real quick at some questions that came in here um do a song and dance janelle oh look let's see [Music] oh my gosh what quilting designs are include we got all that oh is it on the back too there's a pack what do they cost um that is something it's very inexpensive i should say when you consider everything that you're getting with that um but we want you to contact your favorite quilt shop to to find out pricing for sure but think about this jeanette and everyone out there if you do a lot of projects and you're looking to quilt those projects think about how much it costs each time you take it to a long armor now definitely again long armors are absolutely needed we love our long armor so they do a lot for us but for a lot of these like smaller type of projects below 60 by 60 it's great to have this ability to do it and so think about building your library of designs so each time you go to kimberbell.com and you download a design or you get the designs from clearblue tiles each time you do that you are building up your library of designs so that no matter what project you're working on in the future you can go you know what i think i've got a design for that you just go to your library download it and boom there it is so really you're investing in a library of designs and once you've done that you can use them over and over and over again for all your projects absolutely pretty cool and the clearview tiles just gives you another use for your library of designs yeah another way to be able to use it yeah because you will definitely be doing block by blocks with like you know things like candy corn quilt shop um red white and bloom we have so many different we have a new spring one coming out soon um we've got a lot of different ones coming out but you'll always have that library to go to and most likely many of them are in there already we would also want to encourage you to use affiliate links out there i know there's a lot of shops out there that are affiliates of kimber bell kimberbell.com and so certainly you can buy your tiles through purchasing through an affiliate link and that is uh also helpful for them are not the tiles the files the embroidery files for additional files okay but can you talk about where those files will be if they purchase through an affiliate link where will they find those they will find them in their library correct at kimberbell.com yes all of the embroidery files everything that you have purchased go to kimbervale.com log into your account and you'll find them all there okay um are there any over there that i missed will clear blue tiles work on my bernina yes you want to talk about that absolutely so all and we've tested them on the bernina machines that we have in our in our product development team um the wider tiles may not fit as well but our rectangular tiles fit really well in the bernina hoops yeah so yep they do okay um is it okay if the stitches run off the edge and onto the batting yes yes it's absolutely okay your batting is going to be trimmed down and after the quilting is all done so that you can put your binding on it and that makes it look really even more amazing because it looks like it just flows right off the fine so off the edge of the quilt so that's absolutely okay okay um let's see sometimes your files won't say the full name uh depending on the type of machine you have you might have those files say the full name of it if it doesn't that's okay you can click on the one and you'll see what file size it is okay all right i think that's about it is that it for you all right thank you for joining janette and i today um it's been our pleasure to share a little bit more about these with you again if you want to get some very detailed
