CLASSROOM VLOG (Setting Up My Classroom & Classroom Tour)

[Music] hey guys what's up and welcome back to my channel for today's vlog i'm going to take you guys along with me as i start prepping my classroom for the new school year um while being quarantined i decided to switch up the theme of my classroom so i had kind of like a farmhouse um shiplap style before but i felt like switching it up and doing a more boho rainbow theme so i have two weeks to get it all done before school starts again so i'm gonna take you guys along with me as i do this crazy makeover to my classroom let me show you guys what it looks like [Music] now shout out to my [Music] so [Music] [Music] hey guys so today is part two of me redecorating my classroom i got a lot more done yesterday than i thought i would thanks to my fiance joe helping me out there so i'm going to show you everything we did and show you what i have done so far today and i'll take you along with me as i finish up the rest of my classroom hopefully today so let's go on my door i have classroom jobs i like having this on my door because my students come in and out of it all the time and it's just convenient to be able to look back here when we are getting ready to line up to figure out whose job is whose and those are on with magnetic tape i ended up replacing the green pocket shot i had here for my i'm done choice for to a black one because i just thought it looked a little nicer and i will link this for you guys if you're interested in the description box down below i got this off of teachers feed teachers and it's just really nice to have because in your class you're always going to have early finishers definitely something nice to have so that it becomes a routine for your students that as soon as they finish and they turn something in to come to the i'm done choice board and choose an activity to do instead of them coming and bothering you if you're helping a student they can just come back and choose your own activity that draws their interest this pack is a bundle so every month there's different choices for the students and she also has some for holidays too which is really nice so i'll definitely link that for you guys if you're interested over here is the goal getter sign i ended up running out of the rainbow border you see at the top and bottom that's from the target dollar spot on the bullseye section so i got some more of that so i need to finish doing both sides this is our data displays at my school we do whiff which stands for word identification fluency and basically for first grade one of their monthly assessments is being able to read a list of sight words in a minute and each of them will get their own rainbow they get to design and eliminate and then depending on their score each month the rainbow will change positions on the board and then this is just my little manipulative station and then the bins i have nipples i like to use for math time and this rainbow drawer part this is from michaels um this is where i keep the i'm done activity so they'll come over to the drawer and find what activity they wanted you take that to their seat to work on and then all their i'm done activities get turned in and to destroy when they're done i eventually want to get labels for this but since the activities change each month i don't know how to label those yet so i have to figure something out for that above that is my word wall i got more of the rainbow border that i use for that and i think i'm either going to just not have rainbow border on this or replace it with that border so it matches a little better because this one's a lot brighter than that border is and my rainbow theme for my costume is more of a subtle neutral rainbow color and i just think that it doesn't blend in that well so i'm going to take that down another big project i have to get done today is this is my student work display so basically i just got 12 by 12 scrapbook paper you can get it at hobby lobbies or michael's really cheap and they have lots of different options so you can find something that matches your classroom i have shift flap on three of the rows and then black and white flat on the other i'm going to be taking down the black and white plaid and replacing it with this rose gold paper i got from hobby lobby let me show that to you there it is and i just think that's going to look so so pretty up here since there's a lot of pink in my classroom decor i went with pink and to get these up there i just staple it in all of the corners because we're not allowed to use hot glue on the walls and then i will hot glue a clothespin to the top of each this is my desk area i am currently jumping out to the folklore album that taylor swift just released i love it so so much over here i have my standards display we have to display our standards for all of our subjects in case we have special visitors and they come in and they want to see what we're doing they could walk over to this wall and see what standards we are learning and then our i can statements i write on the whiteboard right beside it here and then in that little top left corner i write our cleanup jobs and then i got this bead tassel to hang above my whiteboard that is from hobby lobby over here i have my oh snap board and the instagram logo basically this is just where i will have pictures of class and staff two display on this wall just to make a welcoming culture and students and families really like looking at this when they come into my classroom it's just a special piece to reminisce on our classroom memories from the year here is my library then above my library is motivational posters that were included in my classroom theme bundles and then by my library i have these stuffed animals and i let my students use these as reading buddies if they are following directions and reading quietly they are allowed to grab a stuffed animal to cuddle with as they are reading over here i have some more motivational posters and on that huge clip you see there it will be my clip chart that you need to finish making having this big window really helps bring in a lot of lighting to make it look a little brighter when i do have the lights off i think our costume looks really cozy i have christmas lights around our boardwall display as well as lamps all over the place and then lights around our main whiteboard and those rainbow lights you see underneath my whiteboard i got this on amazon i love them so much it comes with a remote so you can change the colors to whatever kind of speed you want or if you want a specific color so i'll try to find those and link those for you and yeah so that's basically my classroom so now i'm going to start working on taking that border down and then working on the student work display [Music] oh [Music] okay i think that looks a lot better i didn't put it on the sides because my lights are there and i don't think it needs it but here's what it looks like so now i'm gonna finish the sides of that bulletin board and then start the studio mark display [Music] okay now that display is all done i'm gonna start taking down the student work display so i just finished updating my student display it looks so pretty the rose gold paper from hobby lobby just that's a really nice shiny touch to everything i need to get two more they only had 10 when i was there and i grabbed all of them but i need to get two more for the bottom so i'll get to that eventually now the last thing i'm gonna do is replace the order on my own snap board before i head out for today i just got done with my old snap board i ran out of border on this side as you can see so i'll probably go back to charge it and get some more because i don't like how that works but that is it for today [Music]
