what's going on guys welcome to another vlog on the channel I'm actually starting this vlog out in a random field as you guys can see with the dirty max behind me this vlog is gonna be a little bit introspective in the sense of how it starts because I accidentally deleted my intro that I filmed earlier in the day so I figured I'd film another one anyway and preface what we are doing in this video so remember guys enthusiasts boom enthusiasts right there enthusiasts right there is giving away a MacBook Pro GoPro here $500 plus some more stuff you guys can go over to the first link down in the description below to get entered for a chance to win every five dollars that you spend on merchandise should get one automatic entry into the giveaway brand new MacBook Pro brand new GoPro Hero 5 pick that stuff because that's how I started my channel and that's what motivated me to motivate you guys to go out and do these kind of things as well so how about we kick off into this video sit back and enjoy so today we are in route to Allentown Pennsylvania for a quick trip to my friend shop we were picking up a sensor for the Duramax it's not a sensor that has done wrong luckily I've been knocking on my plastic wood good with that so far it's actually a sensor that I need to install in the manifold of the truck so any time that I display my edge CTS to a lot of you jump right to it oh my god dude your EG teas are at eighteen hundred thirty two degrees how's your motor not melted well let me explain so when I had my stock turbo kit the downpipe had a bone that I could plug in a sensor into to monitor my u GTS very convenient not a problem more messing with the turbo but when we went to go do the aftermarket turbo it became very apparent that the downpipe on that 369 turbo kit did not have a bum because of the fact that there was no place to plug the sensor in and I didn't have a sensor so Edge prepared for that they make a sensor that we can install into the exhaust manifold basically we have to tap it and thread it that will actually allow us to then plug back into Ned GTS two which is hanging out right there and then that way I'll be able to monitor my u GTS this is something that I wanted to get installed before the call-out it will be running the truck down the drag strip as I mentioned in some of my previous videos I'm not going to be going for the best time for a lifted truck with 14 wides and a big turbo kit but I still want to be able to have the details around how the truck is operating and the temperatures at which it's so we just got here and basically this is what we are going to be installing today so the EAS expandable accessory system allows you to kind of build off of it right so there's multiple things you can attach for accessories ation of monitoring of your vehicle in the meantime [Music] people really have some sense of humor huh [Music] [Applause] it's tight but it fits go for recording your time left what you guys have just been watching basically what we're gonna be doing here is we're gonna be tapping into that spot on the manifold right there you can kind of see where it flattens out just under that bowl to the right that is where the interesting sensor is gone you can actually see where we scored the manifold for the tap this is all because the down pipe with the worldly kid did not come with an o2 bung to plug into for the sensor which is not a bad thing by any means a lot of people like to monitor more direct eg T's at other locations we are off to Lowe's to get a 2164 drill bit one little drill bit holding up this entire process [Music] damnit alright guys we're bouncing all over the place today we are making another trip back to lows because that bit just broke I think we were trying to originally do a steel fit but we couldn't find one so we bought just like a standard wood bit and unfortunately as you guys can see it really couldn't withstand the one job it had it just had one job alright ladies and gentlemen so a few times back and forth with the taps etc we finally have everything mounted and ready to go [Music] [Applause] you know what you just scare yourself to pieces through alright ladies and gentlemen we all heard done with phase 1 of 2 as I just mentioned we didn't get the egt sensor oh I gotta straighten this thing all out we didn't end up getting the sensor hooked up because time to find out that edge did not make it all that simple for the user there is that one sensor that you need to buy and of course you can marry multiple things to it but the adapter is actually not on the back so that was my negligence on not doing any artful research I guess you have to buy an adapter that plugs into like the HDMI port on the back of this thing and then that has multiple adapters to then plug in the sensor to so currently this is the last remaining missing piece of the puzzle and that is the connector that we don't have a location for at the moment I have no idea what this guy is doing [Music] for all intents of time purposes we're just going to skip right to the location ready set [Music] alright guys so it's been kind of a long awaited thing where Rick and I have been trying to meet up so some of you guys might recognize this guy right here from his 89 classic bodying LBZ it's an it's an LBZ that's absolutely immaculate so Rick and I have basically known each other through Instagram and social media for quite an extensive amount of time really but yeah probably like a year or two and we've got all these mutual friends in common through PPE and all the different kind of manufacturers that are out in kind of the aftermarket space for diesels but we were never able to connect them the ironic part is both trucks are from Pennsylvania so as I was in Allentown I wanted to try and kind of find this as an excuse to go out and finally meet Rick in person and the funny thing is that I tell people all the time it's like you interact with somebody for so long I've had a through text message and Instagram and all this stuff and then you meet each other and it's like cool man now it's like we're in person but like we already know each other and we know what we stand for Rick was out having some fun this past weekend with the truck which is why it's really dirty so now it's dirty and well looks good [Music] [Music] now that it's clean and it's a little bit more presentable you know you got to get it clean because Rick I'm in the exact same boat dude when I took my truck out last weekend did a bunch of donuts with it I actually still think that there's mud caked up under my back bumper but I spent over an hour and a half just power washing the rear quarter of the damn thing because so much mud was caked up on it but I gotta say it was a really good time this thing looks awesome dude it it looks even better in person seeing it I absolutely love it man so how about you give the audience just like a quick little preface of kind of how you got the truck the story behind the truck what the truck means and what's done to it and kind of all that I mean tell us the story so the truck was originally built by a good friend of mine his name's Leon Matlock it's an 89 originally started life out 400 small-block he did the lbz conversion in it was originally lifted nine inches on thirty eight and a half inch burgers and I got it off him basically the birds already done everything and we kind we dropped it down three inches put the 22 14s and 375 Nadeau's on it which look absolutely amazing about its it's a stout look American force they cost them cause the wheels for the truck yeah they I mean everything about it it's just it's it's unique it's different it's a functional truck everybody thinks it's a it's a garage Queen and can't really get driven for I've driven the truck from you know where we are at and PA here thirteen hundred and eighty miles to American forces headquarters down in Miami its flood pools at drag races the previous owner he really put it through all put it through the tests on everything I mean he did a phenomenal job with a conversion and making sure it was a solid run intro no he he really went through the whole thing and made sure it was you know everything was done you know very very nice on it's very functional I mean it's it's not a perfect truck Bonnie means but it gets the job done that's for sure because jason virtus from clears he did the taillight lenses and the marker light lenses for me you know to kind of match a truck and kind of keep that nice dark look to it that's the cool part about Mohawk is all the curves and motion seem you know they're just so right now we cannot pop the hood because we're doing a little bit of work and the hood is permanently latched down because you were just traveling kind of all over the place so you wanted to make sure that it couldn't come up a nice polished intercooler that's right back here behind the grill I think I think the frame on this 89 looks better than the frame of my 2015 - Rick's point you can see how kind of the modern day styling of my truck really almost mimics that of the classic is the wood grain around the - a lot of nice little subtle touches to it the gauges look really good on that on that any pillar there mm-hmm it'll have all the work the workshop vinyl floors in it so you know you can get in it with muddy boots and you know you don't got to worry about staining up the car but I mean it was it was built to be of just a functional tow rig work truck you know in the back we got a got a setup from nitrous express and nice billet bought Iraq with - their 15 pound bottles trunk utilizes one of 375 double stacker kits with to 136 Jets truck runs a 165 gallon per hour when I hear dogs new 4G motors and their their whole kit alec sadler over air dog really hooked it off the truck I made a nine-day difference with you know how it runs and performance wise throttle response everything you know everybody always jokes around their buddies on a Friday night you know drinking beer in the garage well building the ultimate sleeper and this is this is that you know Friday night sleeper you know joke basically they said the guy who did the conversion in Italy on he put them the DSP 5 switch right here you know at all it looks nice and stock and you can see you know all the stock ages on it everything functions the way that it's supposed to you know everything works as is if the truck came from the factory like this yeah it's nice because you get this like alright hey here's your old school kind of look and then if we zoom in on one key attribute here look at the modern-day shifter yeah that was more leon's touches right there he got all the fleeced tap shifter which also you know functions you can lock it and gear for sled pull and they won't get past a certain point yeah so guys you can see that I'm also tuned through PPE I also have that DSP 5 switch I decided to mount it on the other side of the truck but it just goes to show hey look this is obviously a classic body but it's got the the older generation motor and it's the lv z wears i have the LM l but PP i they offer a wide portfolio of tuning capabilities whether it's whether it's Power Stroke Cummins or Duramax they have you guys on lock definitely feel free if you see this video and you're seeking tuning solutions feel free to reach out to Chad or down a PPI let them know that you saw Jax video tell them that you know Rick was featured they would love to get that feedback and they'd be happier than ever and their shirt here yeah they'd be happier than ever to stitching guys up with some tuning it's a highway this truck gets 21 22 miles of the gallon you know it's for once again for the long hauls and trips and everything else that you can take in and I mean it's just function it's an absolute win yeah the fence I rushed him through his wash which is why the windshield looks like this maybe that's just me rubbing off on him because as you guys remember from my last video my windshield was an absolute mess somebody was having a good time 375 [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] it's been awesome dude yeah super happy that we could actually finally get the dirty max together with this beautiful old body Chevy and just like that ladies and gentlemen we find ourselves back in the Duramax another day is coming to a close another vlog coming to an end I hope that you guys enjoyed this video as always if you did would really appreciate a thumbs up that really helps the channels credibility and if you guys haven't already please hit that subscribe button I would also appreciate it and then last but not least enthusiasts right here behind us is giving away that MacBook and that GoPro Hero 5 so you might want to take a peek at what kind of products we have available so with that said everybody have a great night and we'll see in the next outlook [Music]
