I actually teared up watching this earlier. When I saw the video in my feed, I said, "Oh no." then when the video began on the empty chair, I said, "Awwwwww noo."
I loved Clara. My thoughts are with her family, but she seemed so at peace and just ready. I'm so glad we were invited into her life.
I loved her too. The one video she did on the apples, and that pizza one, were fantastic.
If you ever get a chance, check out the PBS "The Dust bowl" documentary by Ken Burns. It'll make you cry, and to think that she went through all that, so long ago, then made it this far...
Damn now I'm sad again.
Sad to hear. I know somewhere, somehow, Nana is seeing her husband and mother and father and in peace. Thanks for letting us into your life, Nana.
I think the distinction between 'Great Depression' and 'Depression' is a pretty important one to make.
Sorry to nitpick on a post like this.
From the great beyond we all came, to the great beyond we will all return. RIP. Going to give my mom a big hug tomorrow morning and tell her how much I appreciate her and her home cooked meals.
I loved her complete disregard for food safety. (This is not sarcasm.) She was such a little old badass.
Oh no... It always seems like such a loss when a person from that generation passes on. I'm happy that she was able to share her cooking with us; it's valuable knowledge, and I'm grateful to her.
:( Rest in peace Nana Clara.
Why did you chose to use the silly word 'interwebs' in an otherwise somber title?
