franklin she didn't know who wears these beautiful hats [Music] she's one of our charter members and she's now the oldest charter member this turned 90 years old [Music] you would never guess it it never doesn't look at all that age so we praise god for your vitality and for all these years you've served this church god bless you and your late husband who was on staff here for a number of years we give honor to you and your family amen such a blessing to have church so full of so many great people and uh it's those charter foundational members we've got to appreciate of course we see some longtime members in the back paddle quinn back here and again many others i said susie good to see you but we want to welcome all of you by asking you to go on to your church app maybe it's not your church but it's it's called the city sanctuary church app which we want to be your church have right and if you'll find the connect tab press that and then the check in tab it's the way that we now these days post covid uh we started during kovid so because of kobe we're we did away with the eye care pads you used to sign in on and now we're asking you to go on touch your own phone and give us your prayers report your prayer request praise god and we're so glad you're here if they want to put up on the screen one more sunday before next sunday is our faith promise time and there are some faith promise cards out there in the lobby they'll probably offer you one next week just to make sure you have one it's not a pushy sales tactic uh but just so you know that they're available they're out on the lobby table out there and and you can also do something online by giving online or by expressing your request or your commitment online so what's that all about it's just following up the cash offering uh which we have over 70 000 that's been given now to date we thank god for that as we look toward following the lord in a missional way what's the mission well when uh covet 19 hit we hadn't even had our music online and so we had to scramble and work and got our music online so people could who were at home i could hear a worship set and worship along and then we started finding out other challenges we had and that stems from the lighting to the sound mixes to the various things that go into the production to make it a better experience at home or wherever people are watching today it's more about what's on demand that is people have shifted from watching on sundays to watching during the week when they have time so what this does is provides an opportunity for us to reach far more people than either can't come to the building or who feel comfortable coming to the building so that's the mission there's no second and third agenda that's it and just trying to follow christ and reach as many people as we can the second part of that is the cafe which we just feel like that we need a place to build relationships and so we're looking at that and that's not the most expensive part of the entire remodeling uh it's probably the least expensive part and i do want to clear up one thing when i talked about taking the stage uh in the gym uh we're we're not gonna have it up on the stage we're gonna level the stage you know so and you have like nice tall 16 plus foot ceilings in that cafe so it should give you a nice airy spot to uh feel like talking to somebody else and building relationships together next week is we're looking for those weekly monthly bi-monthly whatever is fits in your budget commitments to help us to get this done if 200 families households gave 146 dollars a month then we would have what we needed each year to completely pay cash for that we are not planning to add any in one penny to the debt of the church which is right around 1.8 million dollars and so again we've been paying extra on that each month to be good stewards and pay down so we have to pay that interest oh boy interest is good when you're making it bad when you're paying it right so we've been trying to and we've saved several thousands of dollars already in interest by by doing extra principal payments for since i've come so we thank god for you just praying and listen to the lord and next week will be a time for us to begin those commitments we'll have them open through the month of may anybody can give any time they want but we're trying to get a commitment from everyone that feels led to give so that we can build a budget on it so you can understand that if you've got you've got to have that for your own household right so just uh pray about it if you would and i appreciate it so very very much again uh let me just say our prayer and then i want to introduce caleb brown to you our father we give you thanks for so many things lord you're you're you're here you're you're here with us that is the greatest the greatest blessing because you are our life let him the boast boast that he knows the lord so lord we boast in the lord we boast in your presence we're so delighted proud that you're here with us please forgive us for any sins and cleanse us from any unrighteousness that we might know more of you and we might experience more of you lord bless your people as they prayerfully consider giving next week may may you direct them may they simply hear from you and obey you may you bless them because of it in jesus name we pray and amen well this young lady kayla brown is coming right now competed from our church in florida's teen talent last week and guess what kayla came in number one in the state of florida amen proud of you kayla [Music] ah [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah [Music] [Applause] [Music] great job caleb brown [Applause] [Music] give honor to you and vinice and david and your brother isaiah praise god for team talent awesome awesome job looking forward to her going to compete in uh cleveland tennessee which is otherwise done by church or guide folks as mecca and so we give honor to her and next week we'll have a a group i believe it's a human video i don't know how how to pronounce it is that what you call i'm not sure you're looking at me like you're on your own pastor i don't know either you're on your own so next week will be another great week as our teenagers display their talent amen let's put up the slide today for the uh message as we continue a do it now series going through the book of acts today is going to be on flip the script uh my uh usual powerpoint preparer had a had a uh death in the family and so was unable to complete uh entire powerpoint for me so we're gonna have to all listen today can't just color in the pictures today we have to listen so i'm going to read from acts chapter 8 verse 14. as we look at the samaritan revival now when the apostles in jerusalem heard that samaria had received the word of god they sent them peter and john who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the holy spirit for he had not yet fallen upon any of them they had simply been baptized in the name of the lord jesus then they began laying their hands on them and they were receiving the holy spirit wow so this is a tremendous um really move of god against and through different cultures and races in the samaritan revival also the first occurrence where there is a gap between when they were saved and baptized and then when they received the baptism of the holy spirit some really interesting things in this story so i believe it illustrates that god flips the script how many believe god to flip the script in your life for the good the enemy has accusation and he has a script for your life you know but god says i know the plans i have my script is good it is one of peace and one of a good future say that out loud god says i will have a good future amen amen let's pray father we just thank you for jesus thank you lord for all that you've done through him for us we are so very blessed today may you be praised lord jesus for all that you've done and now walk among us and be with us that we might all hear from you and we all might receive from you we need you today in jesus name and amen amen it was the year was 1864. and the place was washington d.c one year after the emancipation proclamation was made january 1st 1963 a abolitionist and women's right advocate sojourner truth came to washington dc and she found that even though there had been a change in the law that there was not a change in the hearts in fact there were still 122 pages of restrictions on what was then referred to as colored people they couldn't have their own businesses they had a curfew uh their kids couldn't swim in the anatomia river and they also couldn't fly a kite in the washington mall area said it was easier to write or rewrite laws than it was to rewrite the laws that are upon human hearts so it is that jesus would try to rewrite the law as it was meant to be upon the hearts of his disciples as he went through his public ministry with them going to the decapolis which is the greek 10 cities of the gentiles and delivering people there allowing the greeks to come see him right before his death whereas the disciples wanted to hinder them and think that that he didn't want to see any gentiles the healing of the zero phoenician woman actually the healing of her daughter and of course the famous example of jesus was the woman of samaria that he again had to go through samaria he was constrained to go through samaria that he might minister to her yet in all of that modeling that jesus did and his last command that he said in acts 1 and 8 you shall be witnesses unto me in jerusalem and in judea and in samaria and in the uttermost parts of the earth i didn't quite catch that last part too well because they spent again the first years in jerusalem and in judea they're trying to win obstinate jews to the lord and trying to again see god do what he wanted to do among the jews only so what we find is that there was a then persecution that came a persecution in chapter 8 verse 1 developed pardon me that caused there to be a scattering of the new testament church and it says that they went everywhere and they went everywhere preaching the gospel of christ well everywhere included that of samaria but of course it wasn't a jerusalem jew that went there it was a hellenistic jew by the name of philip that would be preaching the gospel in that area isn't it something that sometimes we can't see beyond our own context and sometimes are afraid to reach out to another culture that's different than ours so god used philip used him who had a greek hellenistic name who was one of the one of the seven that were in the deacons of the new testament church in acts chapter six and philip who developed uh his daughters four daughters who were prophetesses uh again who went and began to preach the gospel there isn't it something that that they had come such a long way that he had to go there and preach the gospel uh when others would not and when there had been such hatred between the jews and the gentiles well how did they get there well it all started when god had a great great dream for his people israel and of course that dream grew from abraham until it was under the pinnacle of solomon where the silver was as plenteous as stones in uh in in israel of course there's lots of stones in israel how that there were uh miles uh and kingdoms that were conquered and people from like the queen of sheba came from around the world to just hear solomon and his wisdom and to see the glory of the temple and the epitome of success militarily economically and spiritually was reached under solomon but then what happened was a division division started when solomon's son rehoboam was going to be too harsh and then jeroboam decided to rebel and jeroboam led the 10 northern tribes away from being in unity with all of israel in the two southern tribes of judah and from that point on it became a great civil war among brothers and sisters for years to come there were times that there was a such a civil war that we look at abijah who was the judah king at the time under his leadership they killed 500 000 of the northern tribes uh soldiers five hundred thousand that were murder then there's another time when uh jehoiash who was the king of of the northern tribes came and broke down the wall at jerusalem and plundered all of the temple artifacts so there was this ruthlessness that kept taking place between and the world was laughing here is this dream god had for the world to see a nation that was unlike any other that had such godly principles that had such prosperity such unity that they would all be one to god through them now they were a laughingstock in division and they were being defeated we look at what's happened to a country a country many times is divided first politically this is what happened with israel they became divided the northern tribes and the southern tribes and they became divided politically and we look at some of the racial tension in our country today we understand that we have been divided politically but not just politically but we've been divided even within the church whites and blacks in the 2016 election there was again 81 percent of white evangelicals voted for trump and 96 percent of black protestant christians voted for clinton in the 2020 election it was seven eight percent of white evangelicals voted for trump and then it was nine it was a 90 percent who voted uh for biden we look at all this division we think well what what has happened even among christians that we're voting and we're divided politically we look at the very first 23 african-american congressmen and senators do you know that the first 23 were all republicans they basically would follow after lincoln who started the republican party who freed them and who had again a desire to elevate them and so we find that there was again the identification with the republican party at that point among black protestants but then in 1876 there was a tie for the presidency and there was a secret meeting and there was a there was a plan to put in the rutherford b hayes as the republican president for a swap the swap was a dirty deal that he would then remove the troops from the south so that the kkk could take over and and also the jim crow laws could be put into effect to where blacks would then be hindered from voting that when that time hit for 28 solid years there was not one african-american elected because the troops had been withdrawn and there was great harassment against them to be to even vote well what you find is oscar de priest was the first one after those 28 years and he was elected from chicago as a republican that even in 1926 the naacp said that african-americans should be should be loyal to neither party it was still a time when both parties were setting forth uh civil rights legislation almost equally trying to elevate but yet there were all these other factions at play and then we go down through the fact of the uh the 1960 when uh 1963 rather when jfk said that this is a moral issue and that we must fix it and five months later he was assassinated and then lyndon b johnson would take up the mantle that jfk had put forward as a democratic president and basically they signed in 1964 the civil rights act which which is essentially was getting rid of all discrimination and prejudice and then after that we see that was also further crystallized the division when a former southern democrat strom thurman who basically would say that there's not enough uh federal troops to keep uh uh segregation from hap from not happening in our area that that there's never gonna be a time when when negroes will be allowed into our swimming pools or theaters or into our churches and then he made himself when harry truman decided that he would desegregate the army he got mad storms from thurman and decided to become a republican and so in protest to that so no wonder there is on the feeling of many black americans the feeling that now the the democrats are taking up their cause more than the republicans but in all of this my friends you have to see the fact that the enemy is behind all the division and not only that division but we can see when we come back to uh our texan context that not only was there the political division between the northern and the southern tribes but then there became the personal hatred you see political division goes into personal hatred and bias because that's when you find the scene now there was no longer even though rome had conquered israel in 63 bc there was no longer the capital of of samaria which armory made the capital of the northern ten tribes there was no longer just the jerusalem under the control of the jews they were all under roman control but yet the division still remained for hundreds of years a division where in john 4 9 the jews have no dealings with the samaritans it was luke chapter 9 verse 51-55 where again he talks about that the disciples james and john the sons of thunder wanted to bring down fire are from heaven on the samaritans there was still and jesus said you don't know the spirit that you are of and so with that we can see that there was this context where now the spirit of god is breaking out and that persecution's coming and now here comes philip to go to samaria and philip is going to samaria and he preaches the gospel of jesus christ and as he preaches unclean spirits are coming out people are being healed and massive numbers of people are being saved and so when that takes place they send to jerusalem for peter and john to come and when they come they come and they lay hands on them this was very important because the laying on of hands was an identification that just like god baptized us in the holy spirit he has baptized you in the holy spirit so there is no respecter of persons that we are all one there is nobody better than the other and for a jew to be able to admit that was quite the the day the feat that day in that day and time it reminds me of how god began to break down the race barrier with pentecost in the turn of the century do you realize that god chose not a white guy but he chose a black man called william seymour to spur the revival at the azusa street revival even though this man william seymour was the son of a slave even though he was under jim crow laws and could not sit in the same classroom as the other white students to hear charles parham teach the bible about the baptism the holy spirit but he had to listen outside in the hallway or outside of a window to catch what he could and catch the fire of god go to zeus street to los angeles california and there the los angeles times would say that he was an old colored exhorter he wasn't old at all he was only 35 years of age they said he had a stoney uh hypnotism because he had a glass eye he lost to smallpox smallpox they made fun of him and tried to ridicule him but yet at the same time god chose him god chose a man who was really like i said the son of a slave son of the victim of jim crow laws but yet through all that god doesn't look as man looks on the external appearance of a person god looks on the heart and so god god said i'm going to use william seymour to bring about the greatest pentecostal charismatic revival that has ever hit the world and so that's what happened with azusa street how that god was breaking down the racial barriers and god was again like he did in samaria he was saying that i am no respecter of persons but yet you leave that scene and you go to the the fact of what happened in the vision after that did you know that that a man by the name of charles mason traveled 2 000 miles from nashville tennessee by train to get to azusa street an african-american man who was a pastor of a baptist church and he spent a month in azusa street and he got baptized in the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues and he went back to nashville and there he tried to again get into what was predominantly a white pentecostal movement that also sprang out of the same azusa street revival and they would not acknowledge him that they would not even though they had all received the holy spirit guess what some things in the heart were still not sanctified and because they didn't acknowledge him that he started his the own denomination called the church of god in christ which is the largest african-american pentecostal movement in our nation because why because the white church would not allow the black man to come in and be integrated with them friend i'm here to say something to us today that even in the house of god many times people have hold held on to the old things in life we cannot we got to flip the script we can't hold on to what we were we've got to let go and let god flip us into what we are and what we should be we've got to have a revival in america [Applause] so we see that this revival that happened in in samaria was a revival that then spread because from there philip also went to the ethiopian eunuch and was witnessing to the ethiopian eunuch which then opened up uh again all of the areas uh that were represented there and then we come to chapter 9. chapter 9 tells us about the work of the holy spirit chapter 9 continues the work of the holy spirit into a person's individual life because again the heart has to be personally changed by the power of the spirit in your life what we see is the apostle paul who had in chapter 8 and chapter seven he had been one who had condoned the stoning of stephen he was one who held their coats and cheered them on the bible says also in chapter eight that he was going house to house hauling christians out of their homes and dragging them to jail he was somebody who was a mean dude he was somebody that was absolutely hating christians and he was one trying to destroy christianity he was trying to destroy both jew and gentile alike who believed in christ and in all that you find chapter nine where there is a knocking of the locking him off the horse on his way to damascus we see that he says you know you know why why are you persecuting me saul he said who are you said i'm jesus whom you persecuted and so he had this conversion experience and in this conversion experience he went to damascus there for three days and anaya said you've been chosen by god you've been you are chosen vessel what the guy that used to murder uh the christians a guy that used to haul them off to jail the guy who persecuted the church ruthlessly he's a chosen vessel yes you're a chosen vessel and then so it's chosen to do what he spent three years in the desert trying to figure it out he was somewhat lost about flipping the script i was going this way hebrew of hebrews and now i'm i'm called i'm chosen and and what what does all that mean to me well immediately he started preaching the gospel he started talking about christ but he still had no idea what would end up being he be an apostle to the gentiles of all people well when we look at what happened with him we know that's like luke chapter 15. in luke chapter 15 jesus tells the story of lost things eight times eight times he talks about lost things you may remember the the top three things in that chapter one he talks about the lost sheep and that is the person who is lost in sin you know isaiah 53 we're all like sheep we've all gone astray we've all gone our own way so he's talking about people who are lost in sin you know people who are basically don't haven't accepted christ who don't who really don't know that they're lost but they're lost and again paul found christ so he wasn't lost in that regard then there was the lost coin the lost coin illustrates a lost value that that that coin has value but its value is only really truly determined in the in the hand of of the person who understands its value so it is that god is our creator is the one that understands our value and that he would have sent christ to die for any one of us individuals just for the individual and so our value is so high uh in regards to god's plan that he's even written an entire book of the good things that we are to do upon this earth that again he has numbered even the hairs on our head and so again that lost coin represents the the lost self-esteem many times young people they they give themselves to sin or they give themselves to worldly things because they don't value themselves they just think that there's not much to life it's like eat uh drink and be merry for tomorrow we die and so there is this loss of valuing oneself and a loss of self-esteem when we are disconnected from god and from his plan for our life and then there is the lost son the lost son is lost sense of direction he was in the father's house but yet he decided to go out and sow wild oats and he had lost his sense of direction until one day he came to himself and he returned to the father's house and understood that the father had the ultimate plan of direction for his life and so it is we look at paul we have to understand that paul was trying to find that sense of direction we can see clues where he talks about how in acts chapter 9 that he was saved he was chosen and then we know from galatians chapter 1 verse 15 that he says that really looking back i re i see now that i was separated from my mother's womb to be an apostle oh he didn't realize that when he just got saved he didn't realize that he was going to be an apostle to the gentiles when he first got knocked off of his horse but then he would later as he went through his life he would look back and he would say i realized that god was separating me from my mother's womb to do what he has called me now and i'm walking and doing and then there is the final thing of acts 13 which was the setting is saved and separated and then set he would separate unto me paul and barnabas for the work of the ministry and he would set him as a missionary to the gentiles who would have ever thought that this hebrew of hebrews would end up being an apostle to the gentiles it is a complete flipping of the script to show the power of god and what god can do in a person's life amen we look at people like oral roberts oral roberts was one who he he was a a stutterer from the very beginning he couldn't even say his name in in school when asked to recite his name not only that but he liked playing basketball he liked to be an athlete and yet and all that he almost died of tuberculosis when he collapsed on a gym floor and blood came streaming out of his mouth and they didn't know for if he would survive or not because he battled this tuberculosis and then one day his brother took him to a healing crusade somewhere close by and he was instantly healed at that crusade you would have thought well praise god that's when he began his public ministry then you would be wrong because what happened after that is that he would try to figure out what happened and then he would eventually start pastoring the church for a number of years he would pass through a church and yet and all that you think well you know how's this guy going to become the great healer that we hear about well at that stage of his life god must have been teaching him some other things folks god must be developing some other things in us sometimes during the silent years we think of our life and then one time the lord said i'm going to start manifesting myself in your right hand when your right hand starts getting warm i'm present to heal and he started seeing people healed left and right and then he he left the pastor when he got into a healing crusade ministry and from the 50s to the 80s he had the number one gospel program on tv for 30 years but let me tell you it is it had been something sad if he would have given up when he was just a pastor and said this is all i'm supposed to be because god had more for him god had more to flip the script just because you are where you are right now doesn't mean god doesn't have more dynamic things to do in your life i look at amen i look at jim symbola you say well who is jim simbla he pastors the the great brooklyn tabernacle church in new york city well jim was one who had a basketball scholarship to play in two different colleges and after that he uh basically married a preacher's daughter well look out you know you marry those preachers daughters they're going to pray the holy ghost into you somehow way or another and so he got he was saved and then he decided to be a businessman in new york city but his father-in-law who was a preacher kept giving him books to read and kept sewing into his spiritual life said you know jim you need to be a pastor you need to do this he said no i don't think so he said i'm going to give you a small little little church struggling church here in brooklyn and he said i did terrible with it i couldn't you know it was bad my sermons were shallow i didn't hardly know how to put together a message and said we hated it we were basically just just surviving in that place and then he got a bad case of bronchitis that wouldn't go away they sent him to florida to try to be in some warm weather to get well and while i was in florida the lord spoke to him and said jim if you will just dedicate yourself to your main service be in the prayer meeting if you just make a main service or prayer meeting i'll take care of everything else from that point on he came back and made the main service in that brooklyn church prayer meeting and as they did that things began to grow and god began to move his wife of course the brooklyn tabernacle choir and singers to then develop the worship of god and again his church today has thousands upon thousands of people and the main thing that's the main thing that people want to come to is not the service but the prayer meeting i'm here to tell you that god can flip the script he can change you and do dynamic things in your life greater than you could ever imagine and the same thing with mike bickle mike bickle heads up the international house of prayer the international house of prayer now has over ten thousand groups around the world that pray 24 7 two hour shifts of praise and worship and prayer but did you know that mike bickle as a as a young minister he was not very excited he was not very successful pastor in saint louis then he then he went to kansas city and basically he hated to pray this is by his own admission he hated to pray in fact he hardly prayed and one of his younger adults challenged him to pray one hour he said okay just because you challenged me i'm going to pray an hour or die and so he tried it he called it the hour of death he said i couldn't stand it it was awful i could barely get through it i dreaded doing it but i tried the best to pray for an hour every day then a prophet came by and said psalm 27 4 that you're going to one thing i desire that i seek the lord that you're going to you know behold the beauty of the lord and went through that and he said you are going to organize uh worship and prayer 24 7 around the clock and the prophet said are you musical he shook his head said absolutely not not one bet and the prophet said well you know the lord told me you'd be dull but he didn't tell me you'd be this dull you're really not getting this all right and so it basically he said well i'll try it hey you say it i'll try it and so he reluctantly put together worship teams and and put together uh prayer teams and started going and god began to give it the life that now it is rebuilding the tabernacle of david that now it is uh having these over 10 000 groups around the world that are doing 24 7 prayer where there is prayer and worship 24 hours a day seven days a week and there are all kinds of things happening let me tell you that god's spirit is dynamic not only can it erase prejudice and racism from our heart but it is flipping the script all the time and what we think we limit god can do in our lives let me tell you he hasn't given up on you the day you were saved you just started an experience in a journey with the holy spirit that you haven't seen yet what he's going to do with you if you allow him to keep on working he does miracles and will flip the script in your life in a great in the mighty way come on in praise come on and praise him oh jesus you are amazing you come to the panel please pastor look at this whole idea if they can get that day day and night song going again i'm gonna do the day and night song you say what is that well hang on you'll hear it chapter 10 we conclude flipping the script there in samaria with race racial divide flipping the script personally with what god can do in your life you are testimonies your testimonies and what god's done only god could do that and he's not done yet either let's let him flip the script and see the devil once he's one of the greatest temptations of the devil is he's going to accuse you he's going to accuse you he wants to keep you in the old script you know you you're just in the old you need you just can't do it you're not going to see god but see god is always wanting to lead you to reverse the script flip it so that you can walk in what he wants for you now and what he wants for you in the future say no i'm not the old person that i used to be i am a new person born again feel the spirit and it does not yet appear what i shall be but i know that he is working on me until he comes again amen praise god for that then we come to the flipping the script in chapter 10. chapter 10 is cornelius's house cornelius is really the grandfather of the gentile pentecost you see the samaritans were half jew half gentile but cornelius was the first full-blooded gentile to receive the baptism of the holy spirit he's really the grandfather of all of us pentecostals when you look at why god chose cornelius it's pretty obvious chapter 10 verse 1 you can read along with me there it talks about how he was a devout man you know if we're going to date god and not be committed to him well you know you'll get what you get you put it you get you get out of anything what you put into it right same goes with the lord so he was a devout man he was a god fearer that is that he loved loved jehovah he loved the laws of israel he was a person who wanted to be as close as he could to the god of israel so god fear was the closest that a uh a gentile could get to uh being of the whole nation of israel and then it talks about how that in the ninth hour in verse three that he was praying ninth hour was the hour of the evening oblation or the burnt sacrifice and that was a symbol of giving your whole heart to god so here he was he was praying like the jews prayed and he was praying at the ninth hour and he was praying uh before the lord and and then an angel came or vision came and he basically said that your prayers and your alms have come up as the memorial before god wait a minute now you're not a jew and they come up as a memorial before god you're not even a samaritan and they've come up before god you're you're a gentile and yet god still is you've caught his attention you see this is the thing about the lord that you're going to find here in just a minute you're going to find that god is in john 4 23 that he is looking around the world for people to worship him in spirit and in truth it doesn't matter what race you are or what country you live in it doesn't matter what language you speak it doesn't matter what your occupation is he is looking for those who will worship him in spirit and in truth so he gets his vision and he says i want you to to go to peter who's in joppa and ask him to come send send your people to ask him to come and share because i have received this sacrificial life it talks about these things that come up as a memorial before god it's all about sacrificial terminology that they're offering that's why we're going to sing day and night night and day let incense arise because this is what this is what cornelius was doing peter gets a vision at the sixth hour the sixth hour is lunchtime and peter gets a vision the bible says that he became hungry this was all not just the biological that he was hungry anybody would think at lunchtime he'd be hungry but this was basically an indication of what god was going to reveal and that is that there was somebody hungry that it was a gentile that wanted the holy spirit and this sale came down peter was a fisherman you know about sales sail came down and there was all these different unclean animals according to jewish laws that appeared and the voice arise and eight peter said oh no i haven't touched that all my life i'm not going to do that and break the law voice said do not call on clean what i have cleansed so peter these peop there's a delegation coming and you were to go with him at that time knocking the door there there were peter then goes with these men and he goes to cornelius house who is a roman centurion a tough guy how many of you know god saves tough guys how many know god god can fill the holy spirit tough guys praise god well i just thought i'd mention that anyway tough women too by the way so he gets there and the first thing he says is you know not hello how you doing glad to be here verse 28 he says you know i shouldn't be here it's a great way to win friends and influence people you know you know i shouldn't be here you know i shouldn't really be here because as a jew they had no dealings with the gentiles and so basically he was could have been stoned by his own jewish people for even being there so give kudos to peter for for obeying the lord so he gets there today you know i shouldn't be here but then verse 34 he says you know what i perceive i perceive that god is no respecter of persons [Music] now let's see it's 10 years since jesus ascends 10 years and in this in those three years that he was with the disciples he's going to the decapolis he's healing the sierra phoenician woman's daughter he's stopping at the well uh to minister to the woman of samaria you know he's seeing the greeks you know he's showing these mild then he gives a commission that you shall be witnesses to me jerusalem judea and in samaria and in the uttermost parts of the world but yet here's peter thinking all this belongs with us and so for 10 years they basically are having just us for and no more all of a sudden peter starts preaching the gospel as he preaches the holy spirit falls on those which are hearing the word and they start magnifying god and speaking in other tongues as the spirit of god gives them the utterance and he says you know in chapter 11 tells the whole story to all the the jewish the jewish believers who were wanting to hold his feet to the fire he said just like it fell on us it fell on them and truly i perceive that god is no respecter of persons it was it blew his mind that god wanted to fill people who were gentiles that god wanted to feel the world he wanted salvation to come to everybody he wanted the baptism the holy spirit to be available to everybody and how does that happen it happened in the first gentile when they lived this sacrificial life of say god i'm offering the burnt sacrifice which is to say that i am surrendered completely to you i want my life to be constantly full of praise prayer alms of sacrificial life before you i want to give my whole heart to you and whenever you and i get into that kind of an atmosphere the lord i surrender any prejudice i surrender all pride i surrender all vanity i surrender all sin come on somebody i give you everything and i want to live in the presence of god i don't want to have a form of godliness that denies the power thereof but lord i really want to have the fullness of the holy spirit oh when that happened they were all filled with the holy spirit and began to speak in other tongues and began to magnify god i'm here to tell you that god will be glorified when the church gets rid of its prejudice gets rid of all its pride when the church gets rid of all of its circumstance and pomp and the church says so cut let incense arise from me let incense arise when i worship you let me praise you and pray and live in your presence let me live in the power of the holy ghost god baptize us fill us again fill us again fill us again with the power of the holy spirit you see the history of the church do it now as there were 500 that saw him ascend only 120. i said i'm going to do it now i'm going to get in the upper room [Music] this isn't condemnation it's not trying to bring guilt on anybody it's just saying that if you want what god wants then you need to do it now don't put off getting saved don't put off giving god your best don't put off obeying him don't put off uh all seek for god's fullness later no don't do it now do it now do it now do it now my friend do it now do it now if you're going to seek him seek him now the world needs you to be full of the spirit now they need you to be full of love now they need you to be rid of racism now they need you to be full of the incense now lord god prayers and praise and prayers and praise and prayers and praise flip the script lord flip the script you may be like mike bickle and hate to pray you may be so prideful you can't stand to lift your hand but i want to tell you psalm 141 that is the evening oblation i'm going to lift up my hands in the sanctuary i'm going to say i surrender all i'm going to say oh god fill me let me please you and not myself i plea pray to you i worship you i magnify you fill us with the holy spirit i pray in jesus name let's stand together i want you to sing sing with him and worship god as we sing day and night night and day this is the rebuilding of the tabernacle of david amos 9 15 says it in the last days i'm going to rebuild the tabernacle of david [Music] i'm going to rebuild the tabernacle of date which there was no walls which means it's not just for the jew jew first but also to the greek it's for everybody and then 24 7 praise and worship is simply getting the body of christ ready for the return of the savior [Music] he's coming back for a bride coming back for a bride who's in love with him oh yeah all those he's coming back for those who love his appearance oh friend don't be lost don't miss it and this time it's time for us to cash in on the greatest outpouring in the history of the world of the holy spirit as we sing this day and night night and day let incense arise we are the incense praise him pray to him ask him to fill you with the holy spirit's power let me first of all confess any sins lord we just confess any sin come on let's repent lord we confess any sin we repent of our sin we repent oh god if we've had racism we repent we're a panel god of prejudice we repent of pride god we just ask you to forgive us lord for being part of any division lord i pray in jesus name that you would forgive us of our sins and make us the agents of and ambassadors of reconciliation may we in every way lord be filled with your love that we can fill others with us with your love lord may in every way lord you pour out your spirit upon us now as we decide lord we're going to be day and night night and day incense before god and lord in every way we pray that you would do a miracle within us flip the script the devil said that we're not going to amount to much but god we thank you you're flipping the script that by the power by the power of the holy spirit oh we're going to see not only our lives transformed our families transformed god we're going to see church transform we're going to see the county in this state and the nation transformed god day and night night and day oh let incense arise we pray in jesus name let's worship him let's sing it right now come on now worship him tonight [Music] come on church [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] day and night [Music] [Applause] [Music] you want to seek for the baptism in the holy spirit or this worship god welcome you to come to the altar obviously you're concerned about kovid to understand and you stay right where you are but if you don't seek for that breakthrough now then when will you [Music] this is the greatest outpouring in the history of the world this is what the prophets longed to see ezekiel isaiah and others joel and we get to live in it we get to live it we get to live so today is a day to just seek him and ask him to fill you with the fullness of his spirit so open the altars no compulsion if you would like also a special prayer there's people here today that god has put his hand upon you for a reason every one of us he has for a reason but there are certain people that have doubted that and are are in a time like oral roberts was a pastor in church and nothing happened and you got something greater in you and it's not manifested yet hang in there i said hang in there hang in there because he is in philippians 1 6 he is going to keep on performing the work in you day after day after day until he comes again and you have no idea paul was lost for a long time but he found his purpose and and he found that god had from the very beginning ordained him to be an apostle to the gentiles but he was lost and it took a while to find it let me tell you god is up to something great within you but you have to invite him to do what he wants to do in your life would you just surrender with me right now before we open the altar let them sing and we let you go if you want to go father i pray that every person here every person online god that all of us would surrender come on just tell them lord i surrender i surrender all to jesus i surrender all to jesus oh lord we surrender our own plans to your plans we surrender our lives completely to you we surrender our sins god forgive us and cleanse us lord we surrender lord to your spirit to come and to do a mighty work within us flip the script lord flip the script for those that the enemy has accused and told them they'll never amount to anything never see the breakthrough lord we in jesus name bind those lies we bind those lies we bind that in jesus name those accusations and we we cancel them in jesus name we release the truth the truth will set us free that the lord jesus knows the good plans he has for us and he will flip the script and he will make us that chosen vessel called to do an amazing work for him i receive it now young people receive it young adults receive it adults receive it in jesus name oh in jesus name i thank you god for the new work of the spirit in and through our our lives in the name of the lord now let's praise him together amen go ahead and sing come on join me down here you're dismissed if you'd like to go if not come and pray [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] day and
