[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] and welcome everybody it's great to have you here we're gonna do something slightly different today i've got 29 questions they're all between 60 minutes and 90 seconds sorry 60 seconds and 90 seconds each and i took it from a smattering in fact at least one question from each of the six domains and so and a few of them there's two or three but it's not like a good sample of the ccna so these gonna go pretty quick oftentimes i'll take a few minutes after a question to elaborate on it in this 29 quiz online event i'm going to go ahead and be very quick about the answers and then if you want to afterwards we can hang out in the discord server in the ccna voice room and i would be happy to elaborate or clarify if there's a question or two you have in mind also the game pin is at the top of the screen if you see people who join late that pin number should be at the bottom of the screen and encourage people to not answer in the chats but rather to join the game it's live right now so it's great to have all of you here and uh dan thanks for the super sticker and the well wishes to everyone i see a lot of other moderators who are also in here from discord so thank you everyone everybody for all your support and without further ado here we go 29 questions assembled today for this assessment exam good luck everyone here is question number one which configuration management tool uses ssh playbooks yaml and has no agents whatsoever [Music] and welcome everybody to the keith barker channel where our goal is to give you tips and tools today to help you get your ccna and i was looking over the blueprint keep it close by me all the time well i keep in the office all the time i don't travel with it but at 6.6 recognize the capabilities of configuration management mechanisms like puppet chef and ansible and i thought to myself you know i'm going to do a little dabbling today this started three days ago with ansible i want to get more familiar with it how i can use it too and jonathan the pin is in the bottom right hand corner of the screen it's 796. glad you're here and i thought to myself i know why the average human is never going to use ansible at the entry level to automate their network and that's because there's too many tdw [Music] all right that is right out of domain six next automation tools for networking good job everyone and here's question number two it is multiple select i'm looking for exactly two answers which iep addresses would be appropriate for hosts that are going to be in vlan 10 along with this multi-layer switch interface vlan 10. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right this is really a question about subnet ranges and so with this ip address that it has on this layer 3 interface on the 10064 network or whatever that network is that he's on which is the 64 network the question would be what are the ranges for that so this is a subnetting question and this is very typical of the level of knowledge that cisco is wanting you to have do you understand how it works and if you so you can determine that great answers from the group there's also a quiz i snagged it and i just wanna bring it up there's a question that said uh ccna assessment quiz what does that mean exactly great question from sid and i just took one or two questions from each of the six domains as a great sampling of the ccna so if you do really really great on every single question here that's a very positive sign towards your ccna or if you're already a ccna and you're just here to reinforce skills that's great too cute unicorn is in first place congratulations everybody's here here's question number three what is the selection process in order when a switch is choosing its route to port for a given vlan so put these in the correct order what's considered first the next the next all the way down to the lowest tiebreaker [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right 38 of us got it correct there is the correct order so when you're studying spanning tree and designated parts and root ports and root bridges and bridge ids this is just a assessment for spanning tree regarding do you understand how it's calculated when a device is not the root but it's calculating its root port all right that's a spanning tree question here's question four regarding wireless what's the primary reason for using a wireless lan controller or as its friends call it a wlc [Music] [Music] nice look at that crushingly great answers by everybody oh here we go question number five of 29 where does the longest match rule apply [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right when choosing a route from the routing table i've got videos there's over i think there's over 200 videos in my ccna playlist and one of them is called why routes have to win twice that applies to how does a route get into the routing table and then once it's in the writing table when is it selected and if it's if a route's in the routing table and it's the longest match based on a packet that's coming in that's when the longest match rule applies based on the longest match in the routing table all right cute unicorn you're crushing it decisive panda stellar possum cheerful bobcat and dazzled eagle you're doing great here's question six of 29 it's multiple select i want two answers here where's the dhcp relay configured on a multi-layer switch where is it configured there's two correct answers on the board good luck everyone [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] oh excellent dhcp relay is done on a layer 3 interface and on a multi-layer switch an example of a layer 3 interface would be a vlan interface so fantastic work here we go question number seven it's a puzzle place the ospf neighbor states in the correct order now this is not all the neighbor states but out of these four neighbor states place them in the correct order when a full adjacency is being established [Music] [Music] so [Music] so to join the quiz live you can go to kahoot.it and put in the pin that's in the bottom right hand corner of the screen or you can open up the app on a like a a ipad or a digital pad or a smartphone and use the pin with the app either way it's great all right uh this is the states if you need help in remembering what those dates are and how they work i have a really great video it's called uh what's it called it's called itl that's the acronym i created to remember this the itl the ospf uh mnemonic that keeps on giving so check out my videos just go to my channel and search for itl for ospf neighbor states and once you watch that video it's gonna be hard to forget this order which is important especially if you're troubleshooting ospf all right here we go question 8 of 29 and uh here it is which of the following is true if somebody tries to ssh and login via ssh to this router [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] all right uh there's a lot going on in this output but this is from the domain i think it's five security four or five from the ccna regarding you know security measures this is triple a new model there is a method list associated with vty line zero through four which basically says go ahead and use the local database on the router for authenticating a user so again i'm not gonna try to explain every possible answer here and why the answer is that if you have questions like you were thinking oh i thought this is the right answer but i got it wrong i'm not sure why come join me right after this live stream uh in the discord server there's a link in the description and i'm there you can just chat about it and i can elaborate there if you'd like okay uh cute unicorn still on top with over 8 000 points congratulations to everyone who's participating here is question number nine what will be the ipv6 routable address as a result of this configuration [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] all right great job by a lot of us here there's a video if you're studying and you want like how do i reinforce this concept this is uh there's a video uh regarding the seventh i think i called it the seventh flipping bit or something similar to that uh seventh bit if you search on my youtube page for that video that'll explain the details for eui 64 and also that seventh bit that gets flipped so congratulations if you got that right for still studying check out that video and here is the next question question 10 of 29 multiple select looking for three answers out of four what has to match for fully adjacent and successful ospf neighbors what has to match between two neighbors for that to happen [Music] so [Music] nicely done super great okay here's question 11 of 29 where is dhcp relay configured this is a similar to a previous question but this is asking specifically in this topology where dhcp relay would be set up [Music] so [Music] so [Music] okay uh it's gonna be on layer three interface that's where dhcp relay is set up so if the dhcp client is over here it'd be gig zero slash two and r1 that would have to listen for that dhcp discover so it could forward the ip packet unicast over the server and then be the middleman for the dora process between the dhcp client and the dhcp server over here all right great job wow we're doing fantastic now as an assessment of these 29 questions if you get 24 or 25 of these correct that's a really good indication that regarding those topics you are good to go um so i'm interested to see how you do near the end so keep up the great work everybody and if you're still studying that's perfect too cheerful bobcat is in first place with over 12 000 points congratulations to everybody who's here here's question number 12 what is the cost of the route 10.1.57.0 with the 24-bit mask [Music] oh great great job uh reading a routing table it's not just for breakfast anymore uh reading a routing table is on virtually any networking device could be an end device like a pc like a linux box a macintosh or apple it could be windows could be a server it could be a client they've got routing tables too uh from a switching perspective if it's a multiplayer switch they've got routing tables if it's a cisco router if it's a non-cisco device if it's a cisco firepower threat defense appliance i mean routing tables are pretty much the same across the board with the network the actual the administrative distance the cost relative to how it was learned the next hop information is often there and the egress interface so nice work the cost of that puppy was three also for bonus points um which was 10 157 which is right here because of the 80 there 110 it's very likely this was learned via ospf because 110 is the default administrative distance for ospf although that could be manipulated but that's very likely what it is all right here we go question 13 multiple select looking for exactly three answers to prevent somebody from using ssh from the 10 to zero subnet if they're trying to access r1 what could be used to prevent ssh i'm looking for three correct answers on the board [Music] so [Music] all right so preventing access to a vty line using ssh we have a couple options on the router we could use an access control list uh that could identify what traffic we want to promote or deny and then we could apply that either to a routed interface with the access group command that would filter the ip packets or we could use the access class command and apply it logically to the vty lines so access group or access class depending on how we want to implement it could prevent ssc ssh from the source network of 1020 going to r1 so great job everyone here we go question number 14 which quality of service method delays but does not drop traffic [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right regarding the entire uh bullet section on the blueprint that talks about qos with per hop behavior differentiated services different types of qos mechanisms i have one video that covers the entire gamut for ccna so if you're on my channel and you just search for qos on the keith barker channel uh you'll find it so that's like i don't know it's like i get i think it's close to an hour that video but it covers everything you'd need to know uh regarding qos the concepts of it for ccna so that's a great resource if you need to brush up on why shaping is the answer to this one all right here we go question 15 what is the correct syntax to back up the ospf version 3 route shown in this routing table [Music] [Music] bye [Music] foreign [Music] so with questions i mean there's a lot to unpack in this first of all it says ospf version 3 route so that is applicable to ipv6 and then if we want a a backup route we need to have an administrative distance which is higher than the current route so the ad currently is 110 and so we would need something higher so that you know the um the 90s out and the three with 155 could be okay except the red one is a 128-bit host route and the blue one is the wrong network that's 21 2001 with a bunch of zeros which leaves the only correct answer green so that that's a little sampling in the ipv6 category ipv6 you don't have to love it but sir it's definitely worth learning and maybe labbing up a few times to be comfortable with it because it's not going away they promised me 10 years ago it would be like the dominant protocol on the internet that hasn't happened yet but it may someday and it's not going to harm you to learn it because cisco wants their ccnas to understand the fundamentals of ipv6 as well as ipv4 all right dazzled eagle with over 17 000 points uh great great great job everybody for being here here's question 16 what's needed on the switch to support link aggregation coming from a wireless lan controller [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah [Music] so all right well this is one you just kind of have to know or not know but now you know if you didn't before so if you have a wireless lan controller and you want to do link aggregation between that and a switch like a layer two switch you're connected to with that wireless lan controller it doesn't the actual the actual wireless lan controller does not support pack p or lacp so you just set on the switch side you set it to on and that is the correct way to configure the switch to support a wireless lan controller with link aggregation all right here's question 17 it is multiple select i want two answers here based on the network statements shown which iep interfaces would be included in ospf [Music] again looking for two interfaces that would fall into ospf based on the provided network statements [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] all right that's an awesome great showing there on red and green so this would take a little bit longer to explain so if you're studying ospf the network statements are going to be an important thing to understand uh it's also going to tie into subnetting and ip addressing to figure out ranges for subnets including the interfaces that would fall into those ranges so if you are let me ask you a question real quick if how many of you currently already either have your ccna or you have the equivalent knowledge of a ccna and you're here to for other purposes like to reinforce your skills or revisit skills or have some fun so if you already have a ccna or equivalent just give me a y for yes press enter and then i'll give that a few moments just curious about how many people are already at ccna all right fantastic thank you for that feedback now secondly for those people who are not yet ccna and are currently studying ccna and studying the topics how many of you are committed to actually learning the technology because you'll need it not just for an exam but you'll also benefit from having it going forward when you're working with any vendors products with the world of ip and routing and switching most of it works the same way regardless of vendor so how many of you who are currently working on your ccna are committed to actually really putting in the time to learn it so you can be like the person they go to imagine that like in two or three years being the person that they come to with problems like hey this is broken or this isn't working can you troubleshoot this can you help me with that and you being the person that has the answers because you spent the time now in studying preparing and most importantly labbing it up so if you're committed to learning this and becoming good at it uh make sure you give me that why as well that's fantastic i'm not a likely candidate for an i.t guy to be honest i mean i was born without any i.t knowledge i was born in 1964 the ibm pc didn't even exist when i was born and so i basically learned i.t the way that most people do just step by step just one day at a time just keep on working keep on studying and guess what i'm now how old am i i don't know old right 57 57 and guess what i'm still learning and still studying every day and it's super fun being being competent in certain areas in the world of i.t it will will pay back that investment you've made and i encourage everybody to keep on the journey so keep on studying and with the focus of learning the tech because it's going to be valuable to have all right dazzled eagle first place here we go question 18. i'm glad everybody's here what is true about this exhibit looking for exactly one answer [Music] so [Music] so [Music] nice it is json and that's all such screenshots right out of my i think it's right out of my ansible video i have on youtube as well so anyway enjoy those videos just pick pick and choose the ones that are of interest to you that you're studying and they'll be helpful including the quiz i have a quiz playlist i also have the ccna playlist and please feel free to leverage those also if you're studying subnetting there's a separate subnet playlist called subnet saturdays as well so if you really want to learn subnetting that's the way to do it it's the most direct way in 12 fairly short videos to go from zero to pretty much very very competent with subnetting including variable link subnetting uh from those videos those are free here on youtube as well all right dazzled eagles in first place we've got about 11 questions to go which route will r4 use if it gets a packet destined to 10.1.1.70 good luck everyone [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right indeed green that's really a matter of taking a look at that route uh or taking a look at this ip address and figuring out which route it falls into for the longest match that is matching which was green good job here we go question 20 of 29 ntp network time protocol traffic is going over an ether channel layer 2 trunk [Music] super exciting what is true when that happens [Music] uh [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right [Laughter] ntp uses udp at layer 4 and it's the well known port of uh one two three so whether it's going over etherchannel or ethernet or a serial link or uh arc net or something else it's always gonna be layer 4's udp for ntp traffic all right here we go question 21 of 29 it's multiple select looking for two answers comparing tcp transmission control protocol to udp user datagram protocol which of the following are true [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] all right tcp and udp they both include checksums that's true and udp is not reliable also true all right here we go here's question 22 of 29 which first eight bits could be used for a globally routable ipv6 address this is a very passive way of asking about some deeper knowledge regarding ipv6 in general [Music] so [Music] okay i think i am going to elaborate on this just for a few moments and then i'll go to the next question so uh a globally readable ipv6 address is starts with two x x x through three x x x so that's the first four numbers in an ipv6 globally routable address in that range so right here that's an f that's an f that's an f then we just verify that that's in that range which it is so that would be three and that would be one uh in hexadecimal for the first two characters so that's that's three one that would work that's in that range and so but by process of elimination you can get rid of all the ones that are f's because they don't they're not in the range that's a quick way of just helping also when in the quiz in the actual exam i would i would also read all the answers so if you rule out some make sure that the answer you're going to choose just take a few additional seconds verify it and then answer it and move forward and have a good time with it also it's important to manage your time in an exam also so take some you know take some breathing breaks smile a little bit and you'll do better if you're in a better uh headspace and so enjoy it you're watching you know in the live exam you get to watch the live exam so these are questions that are i believe testing at the appropriate level of what cisco's looking for so even though i'm a double ccie uh these are solid fundamental questions that cisco wants the ccna to know all these that i'm presenting all right arctic wildcat congratulations here's question 23 of 29 multiple select looking for three answers which destination ip addresses would be matched by the route 103 192. [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] nice that's really good super good uh my approach to this would be uh if it 1003 192 if that's the route i would look at the mask and based on the block size i'd figure out what the next subnet is and i have the range then pick the ip addresses from the range so fantastic i'm super pleased at so many great answers so congratulations and here we go question 24 of 29 we're almost there in a spine leaf architecture this is from module one in a spine leaf architecture which switch connectivity would exist uh [Applause] [Music] so [Music] all right and i i know i put the full picture here so but the the sooner you answer correctly the more points you get so if you answer near the beginning versus the end but this is the this is a graphical representation of a spine leaf architecture with uh every device in the spine is configured a spine layer is configured as a full mesh with everything in the leaf layer and so there's no direct connections between spines there's no full mesh between them and there's no full mesh between leaves leaf leaf devices and so the full mesh is between each leaf and every other spine and each spine and every other leaf but not between them at the same layer all right and that's right out of domain one and here we go we're almost done question 25 how was the route to 10.1.5.0 the 27-bit mask how was that learned probably based on this output of the routing table [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right so why is this probably an external bgp route uh and the giveaway is for the 10150 so the network is right there that one and because the ad is 20 that is the default administrative distance for external bgp and that's why without any other details involved here information that is most likely the way that that route was learned from external bgp based on its ad right on the routing table that was shown in the routing table i should say all right here we go we have just a few more this is question 26 multiple select looking for two exact answers what are used in tcp three-way handshakes [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right there's two acknowledgements two synchronization requests so they call it a three-way handshake because the middle packet actually doubles up with a sin and an act in that same packet so it's a sin a sin act and a knack so two sins two acts for a three-way handshake all right and here's question 27 when will a routing information protocol route be used instead of an eigrp learned route [Music] all right if those routes are in the routing table your router doesn't care really where they came from um if you have a longer match let's say a packet comes in and you've got three routes that could be used the cisco router or any router really is going to look for the longest match based on that destination ip address and use that so that's when a longer matched uh rule applies is when you have a packet being routed through the router looking for the longest match from the routing table all right i think we're almost done here yeah two more question 28 when competing for the exact same subnet and using the defaults which protocol wins a spot in the routing table looking for one best answer here [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right a static route by default has if you're pointing to a next top address it's going to have an a d of 1 which is really good really low high value you know 80 where internal bgp would have an ad of 200 ospf would have an ad by default of 110 and external bgp would have an ad of 20. but an 80 of one but the static route would win you guys crushed it and right after this what we'll do is if you have questions about this quiz or you want to chat about something you're studying with ccna come join me over in the discord server there's a link in the video description it's free also and you can ask anything you'd like there so here we go final question 29 of 29 multiple select looking for two correct answers ospf default dash information originate has just been added to this router what are the results [Music] and tz at the end i think on your app or in your interface that you're using i think it'll show you how many questions you got correct [Music] so [Music] and sid there's i think there's close to 100 people actually playing and there's like 142 people on the stream and umira the best way to review the quiz questions is the uh quiz playlist on youtube all right so with default information originate if this router does not have a default route it's not going to advertise the default route so that's why blue's accurate the default route is not being advertised because this router doesn't have one and if a default route is added it will be advertised in ospf and that's also true with the command default information originate enter in router configuration mode for ospf all right let's see how we did here is the podium [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] all right good work everyone let's take a look at the toughest questions here uh we had out of 29 there were only eight that were the toughest and they were answered approximately 21 correctly 25 26 up to 33. and here's here's the here they are so that's beneficial for me as well so if you would i would love some feedback uh via the interface on how this are these quizzes useful are they valuable i'd also encourage you to set your calendars every saturday we have office hour on the discord server you can join us there and uh just hang out or you can ask your ccna related questions what you're studying or for clarification on something happy to do that it's every saturday 10 o'clock a.m pacific time and then every sunday at 11 a.m pacific time we have a quiz and so today based on our office hour yesterday i just did a nice sampling from all six domains and uh you know if you if somebody got like most of these questions correct and you understand those technologies that's a great great sign that uh you're doing fantastic in your studies or your hands-on experience or however you at that knowledge good good work all right and let me um let me go back to difficult questions for a moment yeah so i will give me a moment i'll put a link in just a moment in the chats for discord if you want to jump in there right after this live stream and ask some questions or clarifying questions about what we just covered i'd be happy to do that and that we can have some direct access to me if you'd like it so i'm going to say goodbye for now thank you everybody for joining me today and i'll catch you either in the discord server or the next office hour or the next live event whatever it is enjoy your studies keep it up it's going to be worth it and every day and every week that you make progress towards your goals you're better off than if you've done nothing so keep up the good work be easy on yourself and i'll catch you in the next live event bye for now [Music] [Music] you
