Chrome Extensions Everybody Should Know!

so in my last video i went over some applications that are useful to have on your computer those were just like something like there was a couple things on the steam store microsoft store just downloaded from the web so this though we're doing chrome extensions so this one there's some productivity thrown in there but for the most part these are more like whimsical kind of just fun pointless but making it more your own though i will show you some of my favorite chrome extension and there's a lot of other web browsers that work with these i know like brave for example is a really popular browser that is more privacy centered that can also work with all of the chrome extensions so even if you're not using chrome it still might be worth it like click clicking one of the links seeing if this is compatible with your browser because it still might be okay so we can get into it [Music] okay i'll throw myself down here in the corner first thing is tabby so this one is honestly one of my favorites so this every time you hit a new tab it's going to create an animal this one gets a lot of comments whenever there's someone who like i'm streaming my screen to or there's someone that's over here looking over my shoulder that's all it always gets a common like oh that's so cute like ah sweet dweeb like i don't know people feel oddly attached to these just right off the gate so this one's fun to uh to get a comment okay so here's the second one that i like custom cursor for chrome exactly what it sounds like i can hit the the puzzle piece here let's see custom and then from here we can select different styles of cursors which is a lot of fun again like just making it your own making chrome look a certain way so that appeals to you that kind of has your personality built into it a little bit so i like the beaker the beaker and rocket ship i just i love science i guess that's what like what's kind of interesting to me and a third a third extension that i mean has to be worth mentioning that uh probably everyone knows and already has but it's ublock origin so this is the best ad blocker that you can use right now um i really don't need to say much about it but if you're not aware immediately go and download this this will stop you from seeing ads on just about any any and every website with the exception of maybe twitch and youtube i'll just throw this out there too you can set up a pie hole so i have that running and i have that downstairs so all of my traffic that comes into my network gets filtered through uh this pie hole um and that is a and that's a raspberry pi running a software called pi hole which is a another form of ad blocking that that is what will cancel out the twitch and youtube ads so if you want to look into that that's a completely separate video not an extension but just throwing it out there that exists and fourth one is socialblade this one is a really really interesting add-on um that [Music] it's just uh okay i'll show you an example of it i'll show you my my subscription here's here's my sub page it's uh a lot of ufc okay so we're loading it here so we can just see the stats and what is really interesting to me as a creator is you get to see the tags on someone's video and i can just copy that so if i'm making a video like right now i will probably uh search search up on youtube um the best best chrome extensions find the top video and i will probably copy the tags and paste some of those onto my video so that i can get in the algorithm with that video so as a content creator um it's helpful in that way especially since you can just left click copy tags and then as a viewer i mean just for context this it's interesting to say the least okay i'm moving on https everywhere so this will encrypt every website that you go to so some websites are not encrypted uh so this i mean has a good example of it of what i'm what i'm talking about http is not a secure website it's not encrypted uh and this will just make that happen it will just transition all the http websites into secure secure links and the tor project which automatically switches thousands of sites from insecure http to secure http it will protect you from against many forms of surveillance and account hijacking and some forms of censorship so not not the sexiest kind of extension i mean along with adblock but i i have this on like every device that has chrome so far i always add like this five that we've gone through um those are added to every single one and we will just keep going down the list chrome these extensions are easy because it's just you just search this up on the web store you hit add to chrome and you're done so okay uh we got grammarly which again you know we're it's the first video so we're just going through like the the greatest hits here um we're not we're not getting into the deep cuts so grammarly hopefully a future sponsor of the channel because i'm i'm completely not sponsored and if i ever do get a sponsor from them that would be so cool and you can know that i use it even before i'm not i'm not doing it just for the bag i'm not selling out i really like grammarly so uh you can use let's see from grammar to spelling to style and tone grammarly helps to eliminate writing errors and find the perfect words to express yourself and i find that a lot of times when i'm writing if i'm spelling fast then there's going to be errors and furthermore it helps me articulate myself a little bit better it will we're so redundant in the things that we say and this this really points it out we're very redundant just like get to the point say what you're meaning to say this is very helpful in doing so i love grammarly i have it on my computer i have it on my phone my ipad all of my devices that i can have got my attention as i was making this video we'll check this out real quick because there's been like universal dark mode extensions before that just really do not work well this is difficult to make work see that's so good [Music] yeah see this is no good here's my twitter if you guys want to follow me i don't want to suggest this i'm going to uninstall which is unfortunate because i i use dark mode whenever i have the option i go with the dark mode i prefer that but i just i knew i i oh this is interesting okay the picture and picture extension by google [Music] okay okay this is interesting because look at this you guys might not know that this exhibit that now i'm gonna right click it twice now i'm gonna hit uh picture and picture there might be another way to do this but look now we have picture in picture let's see at this point man it's been like 13 14 months since no extension needed i'm not sure what that extension is for right now so i'm not gonna run i'm not gonna run the the full video but did you know you could do that you can have this in the corner while you're playing a game okay so what this could be helpful for this is this has gotten so far away from me so what this can be helpful for is if you have um especially an nvidia graphics card there's a problem with them that people don't really talk about called hertz dissidents so if you have two monitors this monitor is 120 hertz or 140 hertz this monitor is 60 hertz if you have any animations going on on your 60 hertz monitor your 144hz monitor will suffer from that um you'll get sutters you can tell that there's just it's not nearly as fluid as it's supposed to feel um now this is just a weird bug that i feel like not many people are talking about this is this is a ass like work around to that bug right so we can do the picture and picture can we resize it we can so if we're playing ballerin we can throw this in the corner we can play the video without actually getting hit with that hurts dissonance if you actually want to have video in the corner something to watch it's not going to affect with your gameplay at all alright so i'm going to end it
