[Music] you guys we're making cookies today it's quite possibly my favorite time of the year but this makes it exponentially better are you ready oh my gosh this is amazing i've talked about it for far too long and finally i just bought it i feel like this was made for me this is this not incredible come on so let's take a moment and hope that i don't sweat my socks off in here okay like i said we're making christmas cookies today my favorite time of year i'm saving sugar cookies to make with the kids because they're going to decorate those these are the good cookies i'm going to bring to family members and friends neighbors all that kind of stuff i have a whole list i printed out all the recipes i am pumped i probably need to wipe this counter space down but we'll get there i probably won't do it i have a pretty extensive list of cookies that i plan on making we'll see what if we get to all of them ritz peanut butter cookies oh by the way i asked on my instagram hey what are your favorite cookies i got so many literally so many i was jotting the most popular ones down and from that list i gathered this list and there's a lot of pecans going on well okay we'll see ritz peanut butter cookies i feel like these are a staple for so many of you and then piggy backing off of that ritz thin mints apparently that's a thing they look really simple so we're gonna try that out german crescent cookies which also look like snowball cookies that i love so we're definitely going to try those out brown butter pecan cookies pinterest made me do that one they look divine then pecan pie cookies come on pecan pie cookies added together i think it's gonna be fantastic almond joy cookies velveeta fudge you guys someone said sounds nasty but trust me so i'm trusting them i'll let you know how it tastes i'm not a big fudge person but alex is molasses cookies yuck for me no on the molasses i'm not big on like gingerbread cook that's like the worst cookie let me know your favorite cookie mine if i had a list of cookies gingerbread cookies would be at the bottom and i feel like molasses is a close end i do know a lot of people enjoy them and i'm not only making these cookies for myself i aim to please i'm gonna try them out oh and then i have like the staples crinkle cookies and a dump cake i think i'm gonna make those at another time those are the main contenders okay let me just wipe the counter down real quick does mrs claus clean i don't think so should be wearing a cinderella costume okay i'm going to gather the essentials oh man you know what i didn't do get out a bunch of butter so it could come to room temperature let's start with what we have on the counter you know what i'm gonna throw together first mostly because um my interest is peaked so high regarding these velveeta cheese i guess they're not cookies it's fudge again i am not a huge fan of fudge alex is he will test them out for you and let you know his real thoughts pretty simple recipe oh i didn't even have a print option so i had to write that crap down old school style 12 ounces of velveeta okay i just did a bunch of food prep so i'm running low on like bowls and containers basically what you need is a knife where's my knife fudge is expensive right and it's pretty intimidating to make i think in general two four six eight ten cuckoo what is velveeta gotta be something unnatural about shelf stable cheese oh well oh it feels nice it does not feel as gross as i thought it would i'm just going to cut this into cubes 12 ounces of it so alex always asks me to make fudge but it's tricky to make i think i don't know i i've never attempted but this recipe seemed pretty simple all you have to do is put everything in the microwave and melt it and then mix it in with a bunch of sugar i'm also going to cube up one cup of butter i mean for real fudge you need like a thermometer i don't have any of that and then i have this really nice well really nice to me baker's chocolate and i just find it kind of ironic that i am putting this good quality chocolate in with velveeta cheese oh also i went to aldi the other day and almost bought the aldi brand cheese man this is hard to cut with my hands and then i thought well do i want to risk the aldi brand sheets because sometimes i buy all these stuff and it's not as good as name brand you know what i mean and that's true for every store one time i tried off-brand oreos don't do it spend the extra 50 cents to a dollar i'm telling you it's worth it oh that's another good christmas dessert oreo balls i'm not making them this time around because i feel like i've shared that recipe with you before so there's that i'm gonna put this in the microwave for three minutes stirring every 30 seconds here's what it's going to start out looking like kind of weird for sure 30 seconds later 30 seconds after that while i have this 30 seconds i'm gonna cut up some walnuts or pecans or any nut that you want to add it calls for a cup and a half [Applause] 30 seconds later this definitely smells like cheese and i just realized i need my mixing bowl for this my stand mixer and i made dirt dessert for the kids the other night now i have to clean it 30 seconds later looking weird now that this is clean during the next 30 seconds i'm going to add in two 16-ounce packages of cream cheese well i buy mine from stinkin costco so i googled and apparently 32 ounces is equal to seven and a half cups so i have to pay attention otherwise i'll lose track of how many cups i'm adding seven and a half oh now it's christmas well now i understand why this recipe turns out just fine you can add literally anything to seven and a half cups of sugar and it would probably taste great 30 seconds later and i think this looks good but first i'm just going to add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and then we're going to add this chocolate cheese mixture it seems so weird right in there and then you whip it whip it good oh what's gonna happen hold on i have one of those things oh i'm so fancy see if it works hey oh wow do you see that should i test it out right now oh man this is so weird wow can't even taste the cheese with all that sugar this is crazy now if you want to you add nuts i should probably ask alex if he likes nuts in his fudge it's too late i cut him up oh my goodness you people this i could eat this straight it's not done yet but i could eat it just like this why have i never heard of this you know what i mean why don't people talk about this velveeta fudge son look at that do you see this huh it's incredible it's incredible i'm being so real right now you guys why am i 33 years old i've never heard anyone talk about cheese fudge it's a travesty this is amazing if you make nothing else from this video make these i mean really we're one recipe in so i don't know what's gonna be the best and i'm not even a fudge fan okay so the hardest part of this recipe is letting it cool in the fridge for two to three hours until firm i don't know i can't wait just eat it with your hands life's too short wow why where's my spoon where is my spoon just had it it's got to be around here somewhere are you kidding oh it's dirty tell your friends tell your spouse to make this fudge unstinking real doesn't budge take hours to make clearly i don't know much about fudge but i do know my neighbors and family members are going to think i bent over backwards making this and i didn't i used my microwave made with love wow i'm telling i'm telling you right now this is a winner into the uh whatever this is called on my room i don't know what's gonna top that i'm i'm not even kidding what are we gonna make that's gonna be better than that we should just end it well thank you guys so much for hanging out that's it game over uh you know what for real i bought two things of peppermint extract why story of my life cheated by a fox oh no no no oh it happened oh it happened so early i forgot to add the corn syrup is that gonna mess up the consistency of the fudge man happens every time okay so before you microwave it you add two tablespoons of cornstarch i mean whatever this is syrup corn syrup oh what oh what do i do with myself oh well what's done is done velveeta food let's try these ritz crap i feel like it's going to be really messy oh i don't have any parchment paper we'll be fine we'll figure it out so i don't have an actual recipe for this one and it seems pretty simple you just melt some chocolate i'm using semi-sweet chocolate that's a lot it'll be fine melt it in the microwave if you're fancy you can use a double boiler but it's just really simple in the microwave watch me say oh it's simple and then i'll burn it that's what i normally do okay rinse crackers well i cannot find my large mat my silicone mat anywhere so i'm just gonna double up on these it'll be fine okay this looks good keep an eye on your chocolate it's really easy to overcook chocolate ooh come on does it get any better than that let me bring you in hold me closer tony danza i think this peppermint isn't closed all the way and it definitely spilled out so now everything smells like peppermint which i don't mind a little bit oh goes a long way i'm gonna do like half a teaspoon or half a capful this seems really thick i might have to add a little bit of oil to this i wonder if it would be easier if i just did half the oh really really let me just do that half a cracker that looks good let's do the whole dang thing every year i do my christmas like cookie bake with me and every year people talk about the ritz cracker dessert i mean that seems like a lot of chocolate okay so i'm basically gonna do this i don't know 20 more times christmas tree o christmas tree thy leaves are so unchanging o christmas tree o christmas tree thy leaves are so unchanging not only green when summer's here but also when it's cold and dream oh christmas tree okay i think i finally have a rhythm down also i will add if these come out tasting like girl scout cookies oh my could you imagine how much money you're gonna save one box of girl scout cookies is a solid five dollars these days maybe more i don't even remember me oh christmas tree o christmas tree such pleasure to you bring me for every year this christmas tree brings to us such joyingly o christmas tree o christmas tree such pleasure do you bring me i just want to say this better be rewarding because this took me 15 minutes and it's just one sleeve of ritz crackers uh the chocolate smells really good also the amount of chocolate i had was perfect there's barely enough to like scrape over one more cracker so i'm interested to see how these taste can't be bad i mean ritz crackers delicious chocolate delicious so before i pop these in the fridge i'm just going to make the peanut butter rich chocolate covered crackers whatever they're called i need to melt some more chocolate to dip them in and then for this one all you need is just some peanut butter in the middle of two crackers seems simple enough have you guys ever made these i have never made them never grew up with them can't tell if i ever ate one before i will say most likely i'll like them because high ritz peanut butter cups so i'm going to try to get a bunch of these ready i mean i don't know about you but growing up this was like a snack i kind of think i'm adding way too much peanut butter to these can't have enough right that's what makes these healthy the one sleeve of ritz crackers makes 16 little sandwiches and that's good to know if you're counting calories the chocolate is nice and melted again it's a little thick so you could add like a teaspoon of oh you know what i have i have some fractionated coconut oil that's what i'm going to add so fractionated coconut oil does not have the flavor of coconut oh this is perfect it's definitely not tempered chocolate so this is going to get everywhere while you're eating it oh my word already just with the peanut butter and chocolate oh it smells so good angels did say was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay in fields where they lay keeping their sheep on a cold winter's [Music] no [Music] okay this took me eight minutes to dip all of those which makes sense because it was half as many also i will add if you want to give something nice to your friends or family but don't want to put in this effort you could just buy a bag of reese's peanut butter cups and a bag of thin mints they do sell some really good um they're like mint cookies in the grocery store i'll try to put a picture here and they taste just like thin mints so if you're looking for an alternative without putting in the effort you know what i didn't properly prepare for is having adequate amount of refrigerator space for all of the treats that i'm making okay so whoa we get to cross a couple more things off the list cool cool what's next how about okay i kind of want to put these off because i was reading the recipe it's very extensive but butter brown butter pecan cookies i have to make them what am i doing let me get my stuff together prep time 20 minutes i bet you it's going to take me 40. wait why is the inactive time four hours oh my this is what happens when i don't read all right let's start it up i need some pecans so you know how i feel about getting out my saucepan when i'm making a treat but you know it's christmas so gotta put in a little bit of extra effort if you want to get a better treat i'm just melting some butter now that the butter is melted i'm just going to add the pecans and then i'm going to stir it's a cup and a quarter of pecans and then just stir it until they're lightly toasted about five minutes okay well you know what rachel ray says the nose knows when they're done so i'm going to set these aside and the next step is to brown two sticks of butter judging from the first step i think it's going to be worth it those smells so good while that's melting and since we're true chefs today or mrs claus because mrs claus follows directions i can try to channel that i'm going to sift now i'm not gonna sift it but i will put all the dry ingredients together which includes two and a half cups of flour one tablespoon of corn starch how did mrs claus stay clean i'm getting flour everywhere on my red velvet three quarters teaspoon of salt perfect half a teaspoon ground cinnamon good maybe a little more a little more a little more i like cinnamon one teaspoon of baking soda and you know what this is how the lazy mrs claus sifts her flour it's just to aerate it that's all we're doing so i'm just gonna take a whisk in here and just make sure everything's together and aerated oh man a little oversight here okay i do have brown sugar but the recipe calls for dark brown sugar will be fine let me show you the brown butter from my understanding brown butter should sound like it's popping a nice amber color in here let's see should have tiny bits at the bottom and also have a nutty aroma and that is exactly what we've got going on here it smells delicious and it looks nice and frothy oh wait what i'm gonna get our sugars together you need one cup of dark brown sugar or you know use what you have i've got light brown and a half a cup of white sugar cool oh man we didn't preheat the oven oh never mind i don't think we have to preheat the oven we have to refrigerate these for four whole hours ah good things come to those who wait i guess okay well i think this looks like actual uh brown butter i don't oh no not on my dress i don't how come on do i have time for this i don't know is this good enough i'm gonna say it's good enough we're gonna mix this together oh it's hot oh really kim really it's not washed from when i made pudding okay here we go finally mixing it together whip it okay well i don't know what it's supposed to look like that looks pretty cool to me in goes one tablespoon of vanilla extract seems like a lot but if you haven't gathered this recipe is very fancy two eggs what am i doing cracking it with two hands and then one egg yolk that makes it extra rich extra rich as if the cup of brown butter isn't rich enough it's probably the fanciest cookie i've ever made it better tastes delicious so now we are going to add the flour you should probably do it in batches but i don't care seems like a very very soft dough smells really good like i could eat this right now oh yeah smells like pancake batter okay and then you fold in the buttered pecans are you seeing this magic this is beautiful i literally cannot wait to eat these i'm so glad that i made these i you know i haven't even tasted it the dough should i taste the dough why not unbelievable salmonella i dare you wow delicious all right and then we refrigerate this for four whole hours all right i'm gonna cover it and refrigerate it you know what i just realized i probably need that mixer to mix the rest of my cookies i guess we can take it old school okay next i'm going to throw together almond joy cookies apparently it's super simple unlike the cookie that we just made three ingredients if i can find them condensed uh what is this swing condensed milk 14 ounce bag of sweetened flaked coconut okay two-thirds cup of salted roasted almonds cool and then some chocolate this should be really simple to throw together two-thirds cup of salted almonds that looks perfect give them a light chop okay that goes in 14 ounce bag of coconut flakes goes right in we're on a roll oh you know what though last time i tried to use my can opener it wouldn't work so let's see if it works today i think the can was dented moment of truth hey like magic alex used to pour this on ice cream oh man okay and then two cups of chocolate chips then that's it oh my gosh i ate some of the cookie dough off of that that we just made it's incredible it doesn't compare to something like this what you put in you get out am i right wow that's so good okay we just mixed this stuff up well it came together nicely i have a baking pan right here [Laughter] got a cookie scoop right here i'm just going to uh put them on the tray watch [Music] sweet why shepherd's watch are keeping this this is christ the king who shepherds guard for 12 to 14 minutes okay i did the bare minimum effort of tidying up my cooking space over here we're gonna move on to the next cookie which is the vanilla capfural what you can't understand my german accent okay uh this oh what i love about recipes like this is that it is egg free so you can eat the dough i need a bowl okay prep time what does this say one hour and 10 minutes i'm hoping this takes me 10 minutes to whip together because i'm running out of time over here two cups of all-purpose flour i can do that one oh crap do i have to like oh man is it gonna tell me to set it aside i'm not doing it i'm not doing it this time back in the bowl i'll do it for brown butter cookies but not for vanilla kipferl oh stand mixer okay here's what we're gonna do we are gonna put that dough into this bowl i'm making a mess okay here we go why do i bother cleaning i just need this mixing bowl you know oh yeah this dough is getting nice and firm you know what cookies and desserts treats food in general is really just the best part of the season i'm drooling i did that salmonella i dare you okay cover this up i need some water that is the best thing i've had all day don't forget to hydrate purifies the soul every time wash it down with some cookie dough okay i've got a problem so again these are basically like mexican wedding cookies or i don't know they're called like 70 different names but the recipes are all pretty similar i think did i brush my teeth this morning or is that just a layer of sugar from all the cookie dough i've been eating i don't know okay center flour salt cubed butter powdered sugar ground nuts and vanilla so basically you put everything into this bowl so yes we do put the flour two cups what kind of nuts do i need finely ground almonds well i don't have that i do have some slivered almonds and since i really do not feel like getting my food processor out mostly because it's always an avalanche how much do we need three quarters cup finely ground that's good i'm just going to put it in a ziploc bag and smash it oh wait you know what i have oh it's so fun one of these oh yeah it's definitely not finely ground though it would have taken me less time to get my food processor out never worth it my arm hurts that should be good enough i'm done i'm done doing that three-quarters cup of powdered sugar three-quarters cup powdered sugar let me check on these whoa they look good oh yeah a little bit of vanilla it asks for a vanilla pod but have we met and then two sticks i think two sticks it's supposed to be cold but now none of my butter is cold because it's been sitting out on my counter and then you just cut it into cubes wow i feel good i wonder if i could have made this whole cookie dough recipe in a food processor instead of this and then how much time would that have saved me you know what i mean trying to follow the instructions you know okay butter goes in and then you mix that but i have to clean this i feel good okay great now you just mix it together until the dough is nice and crumbly here are the almond joy cookies oh my gosh beautiful little mounds do you agree oh they're still hot okay now the dough is supposed to be nice and crumbly and if it's too dry the recipe states to add a tablespoon or two of water let's see okay perfect i mean it tastes good can you ask for anything more can you ask for anything more so now we chill the dough for an hour i'm just going to try my best i have a feeling this is too crumbly but i'm too lazy to add more water okay well i don't know what i'm doing over here i am just going to roll this up in a log this is terrible whatever it doesn't matter just throw it in your fridge for an hour good okay well i'm getting all of the ingredients i need to make these soft and chewy molasses cookies and i'm realizing bad preparation on my part because i didn't think i was gonna make these until this morning be after i went grocery shopping i don't have molasses which i'm assuming is a pretty important component of molasses cookies so we're gonna skip that one but my little brain is going and you know we can make instead uh it's like a spice cookie basically it's the simplest thing you'll ever make in your entire life you need one box of spice cake mix you can even make this with vanilla cake mix and it won't have that um like spicy i need a knife flavor uh so some people make it as like a healthier cookie you can even make muffins this way but you just need one uh box of cake mix and then one can of pumpkin now i need a spoon this kind of cookie is ultra soft it's more like a well obviously more like a cake because we're using cake mix but it's very fluffy and i don't know i really enjoy it you can also add to this some spices if you really want to doctor it up but that's it i think some people add egg but you really don't need to oh yeah i smell the cloves i smell the nutmeg in here allspice all of those holiday flavors okay and that's it this is the dough and then you just put it on a pan like you know with a cookie scoop let's do it it doesn't get much easier than that are brightly shining it is [Music] so here they are before they go into the oven nice little balls if you will i don't know 3.75 until they're done i honestly couldn't tell you by the way here are all of the dishes that i have to wash not too snabby snappy yup said it happy holidays okay i think the fudge is good i just need a knife oh my can you wait for this fudge i know the trick is to cut it into small pieces right oh this is oh boy i don't know if i'm gonna be able to do that you know what i'll just take one piece out that's all i need see that nice piece of nut in there okay it doesn't taste like cheese wow i mean i'm not a fudge connoisseur but that's good very sugary obviously now on to the thin mint i actually tried to sneak a piece do you see like the half cracker it didn't work out oh wow look how professional this looks tastes like a thin mint that is fantastic lovely idea now on to the peanut butter peanut butter i mean somebody call the food network this is professional quality obviously the chocolate is melting all over my hands because it's not tempered because have we met hmm okay these taste more like a tagalon if we're referring them to girl scout i think a taco isn't a tag along the one with peanut butter i don't know if i would make those again but thin mints were great i mean i like them i would eat probably four here are the finished ritz treats that just looks like a beautiful tray of desserts am i right it does look impressive i mean to me anyway maybe because i know i spent way too much time and energy on them okay that took about i don't know 17 minutes or so but you know they're done when they bounce back at you see this press it down and it comes right back up nice nice nice beautiful babies okay this makes so much fudge i'm packing it up and i have this humongous box p.s doesn't it just look so pretty in this box anyway it filled up this whole box and then i still have all of this left so this is such a winner recipe you guys simple delicious nutritious okay i've been cooking for three hours now i think this is done this dough well i should have added water well that's fine whatever it'll be fine we'll be fine so now you just cut the dough i don't know i don't know what i'm doing and then form it into a crescent roll the chilled dough into a log cut the log into half inch pieces form pieces into small cylinders and taper the ends into dull points bend each one into a crescent shape place the vanilla cup pearl on the baking sheet about one inch apart a dull point yep got it okay so let me do that well it only took me making one of them horribly to give up and make them the way that i want to make them which is balls i feel like they're gonna be great oh look it's a smiley face well that's fun should i roll them into balls i'm kind of flattening them out i should have just made snowballs i don't know what i was thinking try to do something cool try to do something different and then i realized i'm not cool well here they are you can tell i was real lazy about some of them ah they're perfectly symmetrical and now let's get these into the oven okay 350 for 12 to 15 minutes but if you have my oven it's at 411 degrees oh they all moved i think it is time to check out the masterpiece oh those are beautiful well i can't find my bigger cookie scoop you need a three tablespoon cookie scoop for this did i just say three whatever oh wow magic right here so i'm just this is like a tablespoon and a half but i feel like that you know smaller cookies are better at occasions like this because there's so many treats you want to try i'll adjust the cook time accordingly oh yes what's even more magical about the oh i didn't spray the bottom i think they'll be fine hopefully and then what's so wonderful about these is that you put a little pecan right on top oh my gosh isn't that the cutest thing but we don't want these ugly ones okay only the most beautiful pecans you have oh this is really fancy okay for me anyway i do have to say these are the most high maintenance cookies i think i've ever made but i'm pretty sure it's going to pay off we're going to find out in 10 minutes here you cook them for 10 minutes at 3.75 oh my word somebody for real get the food network on the phone i'm ready i'm ready now that the curtful is out of the oven well really they're just snowballs at this point and really they're not even balls they're just domes and i overcooked them it's whatever i'm sure they're gonna taste totally fine it's snowing the only snowfall you will ever see in florida and i'm done now i have to wash two more things [Music] i can't pick these things up i'm gonna wait till they're cool well they sure look quality i hope so you let them sit on the pan and cool for 15 minutes and then transfer them to a cooling rack oh i have high hopes for these oh come on these are so impressive are you kidding me i hope they taste as good as they look you know what i mean i'm gonna dive in i realized i didn't really give you a full explanation on our thoughts about the cookies so these they're a staple i make them every year they're spicy they're delicious they're fluffy whoa meredith are they good the kids devoured the snowball cookies mostly because those are the only cookies i let them eat always a staple delicious these almond joy cookies alex and i just split one and we decided they don't really taste like almond joys but they do taste like coconut almonds and chocolate so i guess all the flavors are there and then these i only took a nibble oh my gosh they are divine i haven't made all of them i'm going to wait until christmas eve to whip the rest up why why are you making a mess and the rest of the cookies gosh why are you making do you know how to eat the rest of the cookies the ritz cookies the thin mints are delicious alex really liked the peanut butter ones oh and then the fudge alex really liked it right you really liked it and then i asked him what he thought the secret ingredient was did you guess anything sour cream did you really get sour cream i don't i don't know what he guessed and then i told him cheese and he said but the fudge is really delicious i really encourage you to just try it out i mean why not right anyway okay now on to the intro i mean
