absolute disaster it was so ridiculous and all its life hello hello why am I talking you is your show hello hey sound of the very life oh sorry about that Chris isn't very good at most things and he cocked up it just really never think so yeah so first live with Chris and Chris actually doing so today um you guys don't know this is Chris Brock what a bunch of my youtube channel he's a guy from London that's not outside of London I'm from London yeah he's a British youtuber and no in today's video I want to talk about Japan travel just because I think Chris and I are very well-traveled definitely Japan and people yeah but yeah I thought it'd be interesting to get Chris's take since you guys always hear my take from an American perspective and I think we will have different interests you know so I think actually I always want to talk to you about what your favorite area in Japan you always mentioned Telugu but a more specific really general first I think one of the first air I have can't some counselor you are Kobe Nara Kyoto knows stuff all your doorstep but also the Inland Sea of Japan often quite overlooked the this inland sea that stretches from Osaka in the in the West all the way along to Fukuoka and Hiroshima in the East really nice place to get lost and to sail around how about let's actually it's this um your youtube this is Chris quite by the way I've been I've been on holiday in the UK for like three weeks I'll say holiday was kind of work but just came back like two nights to go little bit jet-lagged say got this coffee to see me through it's the big so how how about a say you out of one weekend in Japan compared to you know typically we get a lot of questions on the odigo side about come to Japan for four days come to Japan for a week two weeks or even a month yeah so listen so first or second time in Japan right yeah cuz whenever I have friends coming for one week and it's their first time you always have to do the same kind of stuff in Tokyo Kyoto basically it really takes time so - yeah it is your second time in Japan where you can do anything that's when that's when things get fun your screens really dirty and this laptop a that there's people lots of lovely nice people asking questions is read questions sweet the question I enjoy this coffee while you read it so ok guys also can if you guys can be more specific which Chris you're actually directing the questions I guess this one's for you can see did Jenny the question for me Chris broad just just write good Chris Bureau is this one Acula and Jed what are you doing right now and what you said you only have after I left you I left yeah I became a youtuber and I've got the youtuber visa at the top you see the visa undersea achievement obviously everyone is no do you know how horribly is telling people you're a youtuber for a living this is the most depressing thing is you yeah kind of networking event of the week what do you do our boys like I mean each it is oh really oh look I'm going over here now and you're like nothing people don't think it's a high status job it's not though is it I mean to be fair I've got the same attitude I'm a youtuber I'm like oh yeah what's over here and like especially when it's you oh it's the bread most youtubers know but if someone if someone told me that we are very interested because you're a youtuber who that is true huh how much weight have you lost now says Joshua Joshua I put on 3 kilograms in the last three weeks as you can tell from the England England diet which is basically just a bucket of bacon every day and cheese and just everything what if I'm you lose weight in March when this when the winter snows of Tahoe could melt away I can then run around and lose weight and make a video about it and profit from it so what do you recommend to see for the first time also I've got from Danny travel TV what do you recommend to see you've been doing stuff I would say number number yeah see numbers like the if you type in number right is it's the bit where lots of neon lights it's in most of me these it looks really cool but it's really touristy now I used to love it but in this case the Glick oh man and another Bridgewater Bridge near the swamp or ebrucaba that been the number bridge number another bridge yeah but it's very tourists so touristy now it's kind of ruined in a little bit but I still love Osaka and I'd like just getting lost of it Universal Studios is really good they go Harry Potter world yeah so Kim I got the scale model of Hogwarts amazing and they've got like Hobbes mean you can drink butter beer you can meet Hagrid oh then it's cracking that's amazing I'm not impressed and I take your family go to Universal Studios Oh something you don't miss you know which can spend on outfits there they tend to just get lost with me I go to all the areas where I know things are men's get lost and I recommend doing the same this guy where should I go as a first-timer coming to Japan Tokyo Kyoto must do okay just because Kyoto and Tokyo there is a real noticeable difference in atmosphere in the culture you know if you want if you're interested in the historic side of Japan the history and the kind of rich cultural aspects of Japan's temples then Kyoto is the place to be if you're interested in more modern kind of exciting hustle and bustle of Japan than Tokyo's the place to be and they're very very different and if you go to Kyoto I guess you can escape to the mountains a little bit and see some of the countryside as the sad tragedy a lot of people come to Japan I never actually go into the countryside if they come for a week what mean if you've got a Quixote can always measure up to yeah it is got some of the countryside little areas you can go off for a day trip yeah right what's the big toes noisy temple actually like that place yeah it's okay yeah but ok toes good ok - until you have to be the two things you don't need one week trip is your first time anything this one asset what would you recommend visit on a short trip to Tahoe kuku I would recommend depends in the seasons doesn't ok let's say is we've settled we travel to healthy together and you've traveled 12 for several times you hated in winter I've been multiple times in winter I hated it nobody else let's say when it's hot it's hot ah I like him I like al more equal on al Mori which I've covered in quite a few videos over the last year or so the morning market in al Mori in hachinohe is amazing it's the best market I've ever been to a real of the morning market Morioka lorry oka in owatta is really good you can get the train basically in go up the east side of Tahoe so you can go up to like Miyagi and if you like fox village and Cat Island you can go there and yamadera temple was really nice and you keep going up you go to Morioka where you can do their Wanko soba noodle challenge and try lots of cool and everybody they never noodle dishes did you do it dude I have leg how many did you have I had a hundred and twenty five hundred thirty seven yeah well I don't eat that much that's just being greedy and then we keep going up to Elmore II you get to the morning market so yeah it's a nice stretch a nice long stretch if you've got a car do a big loop around to hook it and I'd be a real adventure yeah so okay would you recommend would you recommend all these questions are going to keep up where you at huh what would you recommend those places over Hokkaido hot car with you know when it's over houses yeah me too I heard it's a gorgeous though it's pretty nice road trip but I always have great road trips around tour hockey yeah so much to see in do this one straight from generic question favorite Japanese food Oh yakitori it's really yeah grill ski with me because it's done if it's done well it's just amazing you can eat so many plates of it because it comes out at such a nice pace you've got these likes for skewers on a plate you eat it and as you finish the next plate comes it's just cooked so well it's like lots of spices and stuff on it's awesome yakitori and it feels kind of healthy because it's grilled right over charcoal it's not like dipped in fat or anything it's kind of grilled slowly over charcoal so it's cooked really well it's very juicy very tender and yeah it's not too unhealthy although definitely is I will never see yoga 20 in my top 10 I would say mmm well knock Toby normally top five yeah I would say I would say grilled fish grilled fish I'm so generic yeah but it's great I kind of think like a like a normal taste shocker like we just had actually I see like a like a real fish people ask me my favorite Japanese food I don't know to say as expectation is pitched yes sushi soon yeah I mean are you sushi about once a week Oh yakitori once a week ie ramen that once a week and then for the rest of the week I like salad and pasta and dissapointment salad a reason questions wait I just please these lovely people firing questions that you've got 138 viewers I just passed one that's waiting here waiting to extract knowledge talking about fried fish this one's pretty good fish it's sad for both of you what are the favors both have on your channels and the most fun one to make I'm clear tested we're gonna say my favorite video your favorite video on your channel and the most fun it was to make why I really enjoyed making my first of a video one friend blogger is really fun which was that we went to a hot spring in the town of yamazawa I was like two years ago they're telling you know what time ahead the winds are Hoffy we covered so much in the video we went to the we film like a hot spring we filmed traditional Japanese in the real calm we feel really nice like dinner with the owner and we filmed eating Wagyu beef so we feel like four amazing things in one video and there's just such a really nice experience and yeah I really liked that one it was one morning favorite videos how would the most fun to make or that same I guess I guess the question is more direct what's the most proud video I found was most fun things I would say okay now okay now an overview video that I made combining for days and okay now with this dude and but other choice look three one is I was really fun one everyone go back to okay now actually did you do it don't know I did I enjoy your canal oh good I remember swimming in the sea and pushing Rachel and Kim I thought things other of the kids the waterslide yeah the meantime we just go through more questions so okay I'm visiting for two weeks in September with my partner our business hotels okay to stay at they seem to be the middle ground I wouldn't say yeah no I would say business hotels are very very different business hotel yeah they're very nice quickly so yeah APA hotels APR 2 cube APA Tokyo there are business hotels before don't worry about it my favorite video to make was the monster ramen video in that ski we've had a massive bowl of ramen like that to raise data you just ask you so hilarious did he finish it no neither of us finished it but he won't say more you almost don't I love waking up look out look at this list is that so yes John isn't that questions these poor people throwing questions at you I can't read that fast but faster crispy what do you miss most about crispy what's you miss most about the UK is the miserable weather and bland food mix with the amazing sarcasm from one what do I miss most about the UK this thing I miss most about the UK is British pubs and the fact the British pubs are open from like 11:00 a.m. whereas in Japan if you want to go eating or drinking somewhere during the day you've either got to go to a restaurant or to a coffee shop to do stuff because there's like no bars or restaurant no room by bars or Japanese style pub open til like 5:00 p.m. and I really missed that I was back in the UK last week so nice going into a pub off a leathern having a drink eating some food Seimone fireplace yeah I miss that big time let's see this one what is the worst thing you're you you drunk in your travels - strong 0 - I did drama glitter and body out but I went to John strong zeroes Luthor was no yeah he he always gets drunk off of like yeah you can give it literally I don't think I gave you a glass of wine once un-my no then you were drunk 45 seconds later and he's here but the strongest drink in Japan is yes strong 0 is called have you got any here it's been like give a demonstration on you doing that's what the Strong's ero is kind of contains what is it that's in it - hi what's actually in the damn stuff cuz I can it'll work this is strong hero right if you and your friends come to Japan anyone do I just get drunk really quickly that's fun you only need that one or two cans of this why a relatively good drinker I can drink wine and vodka and beer all mixed together barrel but then one of these and it's game over I don't know Wong I don't know how but there's something in it there's kind of like Sakia Japanese like suck it mixed with fizzy for us slaves and fruit juice basically I think it's a mixture of the fact this it's like Japanese suck it but it's also really like carbonated so it goes to your head really quickly and like two of those and your power you'll feel it straight away like three of those this like Wow four of those they won't remember why I'm like three sips and I'm good three sips so I measure in cans he measures it in six my boyfriend drank five and almost died I'm not surprised I'm really awesome it should be like a little label on it saying don't drink more than tear your mayor not any tips you have for traveling Tokyo and elderly traveling in Tokyo with the old with an elderly person use taxis because it can be quite intense going down the sub like I arrived it take your Haneda Airport two days ago came back from London and I had my bag at tea bags and I felt jet-lagged tired shattered awful and then I had to get on a monorail which was bloody full and then I took on a little underground train and then normal train battered and bruised going through the rush rush hour traffic it's yes just get lots of taxis and when you go from the airport from at Haneda or or noe to get the get the bus because you can put your luggage big suitcases on the bus and you can sit on the bus and that's better than like carrying it around the trains and yeah taxis obviously it's more expensive but yeah hopefully your elderly relative is rich and thus pay for the taxi how about this one I don't like fish or seafood how can I avoid it or refuse it without being really rude I don't want efficiency how how to avoid fish without being rude and I don't just just when the fish is put before you just go yeah just throw it across the table and they'll know that you you don't like fish alternatively just just just say I don't want fish before it's served to you and they'll be fine I think you should strike now and that'd be quite funny yeah but yeah just if someone says do me fish before don't say no there's nothing there's nothing to worry about as long as you tell people in advance that you don't like food there's never really an issue is what they will ask they're always but do you have an allergy is there something you can't eat and then you can say then what they won't like is if you say yes yes so then the food comes they don't eat it because over I got a waste so how are you in that actually you always make your plate nice and clean even pristine pristine clean relative you think so and I tend not to eat all the rice because why you putting two laps off some ways this no cuz I suck at this boy I saw comments saying the video doesn't work on me oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah do I did we get sick making videos do either of you get sick in making videos I I love making videos but it does take a lot of energy right kiss your editing you film a video and then the editing in the room for like a week or about four minutes for me like yeah that gets me a bit I needed a break that's why went to the accounting deter switch off your air conditioning sounds mental this is Chris's got a heating system that sounds like - sounds like like a train leaving a train station or something ah so baiting miss weather's good what's - Prince Christy wait where the spinster British pub chain where the beers crops like half a dollar really cheap stupidly this little troll man how much money a tour should take with him I asked a question for a week are they cities in Japan are really all that expensive yeah yeah Tokyo is bloody expensive like two ten nights in a hotel room a standard hotel room can cost like $400 a dis over a weekend in particular so I'll use Airbnb bring a tent or eat gang we need a credit card and put it on the credit card I have a friend who came to visit me and visit me in Japan like two years ago and I think he's still paying it off it's credit card yeah you spend so much money on like nothing because Japan can be quite pricey but it's cheap if you plan ahead and it's really massively dependent on the seasons that you come as well February and March is is quite expensive because especially in Tokyo because lots of students looking for universities and looking for accommodation so one of the reasons one the reasons I had problems finding a hotel are they in Tokyo's because they were so fully booked because all the students come to Tokyo with their parents to look for an apartment to see them through the kind of the next year or two and thus the hotels are full prices go up and you get so yeah and don't come in February how much do you spend per day do you think in life yeah no yeah generally generally because there on average for food right five dollars on average for the food alone no I already spend around 3000 4000 yen at 4000 yen per day yeah pretty mint about 3000 yen a day yeah you add thirty three four thousand yen per day for food only combination you look at 100 bucks per day minimum if utopia right I did make a video about it called is it is expensive to travel Japan I think it was cool how is it expensive million plus views how expensive is it to travel Japan like our members the statistics in the video can't really remember the video at all but if you watch the video how expensive is it to travel in Japan I get quite a good breakdown of what to expect I think how much cost was like 30 or 40 dollars a day so yeah check that video out so as we hit it right on the mark on the month of May let's see there's not a good question register um I was one crispy do Japanese people who speak English understand your British English well mr. American version well that's it I had to change my British English when I came to Japan what do you mean well like the day I arrived at the airport in two Yamagata where I taught English for three years Oh like like I'll cusan nice to meet you you're not screaming I suppose how was your flight and I was like I know I was I talked like five minutes and they all just nodded and then it became apparent they didn't have a clue what I said and they were like oh yeah yeah and then they were like what did you say and I thought like all right yeah I'm quickly realized that my colloquial kind of British expressions didn't really work you know I just change my accent I roll and talk like that I would talk like this every word would have to be really clear wait your you have a more British accent yeah you're hiding it yeah really yeah can you speak like that yeah already here to start well I just feel like all the words of if it wants to learn don't you blow it up see take me oh yeah well maybe we don't - I'll see you so basic just saw like may well have you been up to today mate what have you been up to today even mate didn't really they didn't understand that meant that was I just get rid of the word mate I have every sentence do it bunny what you have what they did yeah I had to change Maxim battles and sarcasm and colloquial expressions I did feel of it in my thirsty I'm into like discard a chunk of my personality and that's why I spend so much time in my thirsty like hanging with other English teachers you name other foreigners to try and keep that part my identity really does not hang with students or teachers they don't know what hello I would say assess question um can you travel through Japan with no Japanese at all or even even in real countries ok it's definitely easy I'm making the video about that next month actually yeah it's easy no problem I work with a guy loads of people actually I work the guy who didn't speak like a word of Japanese for 2 years because he realized he didn't need to and to get buying so yeah it's fine you don't need Japanese tour of course it helps and it makes the travel makes the trip more fun right you can speak a little bit and if you know something it'll make your trip like 35% better but if you don't know a Japanese doesn't matter don't worry about actually quote on that another video I said I see if I should not know Japanese actually to get the spirit I'm missing basics why I mean you don't really you can't understand the case will it make it more fun if you know some Japanese you know you can be like oh it's you Oh hahahaha make fritz you know you feel like you you feel like you're cool had some sort of cultural experience we come back home we'd like five or six expressions mean yeah isn't shaking don't shave pubic hair ask Japanese Hot Springs to Japanese do that I'm worried cuz I am Harry I can't tell us to kill a boy that's a girl isn't it you would have no we don't go to girl hospital needs to answer that question what about forty videos on Chris brought a lot 4k videos i film in 4k but i'm not gonna put out 4k why cuz with 4k video if you feel before cake zoom in on things right and then render it at 1080p and it'll look like a nice easy video somebody hell yeah see be best placed for Seder in Tokyo huh best place to sign and Tokyo hog goblin goblin Hobgoblin That's not me having a fit just saying Hobgoblin Hobgoblin is like a British pub chain that's not like oh there's two British pub chains in Japan hub which is like a piss-take of a British pub but have some great drinks great like I'm in what I used to go to pub to hub based of look at a little it's like a British pub chain it's what they've seen themselves but it's not really look because I'm gonna have fish and chips on the menu and it's like a little chicken nugget thing in the shape of a fish that tastes like crap and I think that's fish and chips else we might all fall under but these step like a booklet in hub explaining what a British pub is and what we do in the UK it's like every Sunday the people of the United Kingdom all go to church and after the church they go to the pub which is built into the back of the church I bought you all about first of all about five people go to the church in the UK these days second of all there's no Cub go into the church is there how's that gonna work God's not gonna like Isaac well she and three wall and bollocks but so yes hub good place for drinks by Hobgoblin of which there are four or five hub you can find anywhere and everywhere in Japan Hobgoblin Kelly finds in like Shibuya Roppongi and Shinjuku I think they do lots of great asphalt cider that only Tokyo I think so yes probably that's the best place if you like cider let me do Sunday roast dinners which you don't know what it is yeah British food in it raised in there are Yorkshire puddings okay are you excited for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and you plan on making videos about it I'm actually pretty excited because I I really I don't fancy the Winter Olympics I do like some other words though I I can connect the sports a lot more what do you think I'm sports on general doop all right no I don't really unfortunately I don't really care about any sport ever what's that yeah I feel like I'm missing a part of my life often like when I see someone play the piano I would I think I'm gonna die I'm never gonna play the piano and I'm gonna miss the whole musical side of things so when it comes to sports I mean I've seen like football games at Wembley Stadium in the UK but soccer yeah soccer games yeah I've seen soccer games in London but I you know I just don't give a in our sports unfortunately I'm afraid I've tried to make myself like sports oh it's Anna chair and watched people play hockey and tennis and no you don't you don't feel like you want to support your country it's different do you think no thank you I know many people who watch the Olympics is the president I know but I just think no matter how hard I want to try so I probably won't make any videos about it I might make videos helping people coming to Japan to enjoy the limpid spa that's probably where a lens won't start and finish their interests oh my god those comments ah oh that comment great I feel like some people experience Japan better on a budget like backpack I guess yeah yeah right when I when I used to travel I used to go to hospitals quite a lot and it's a really great place to meet people you know mix with people and have a good time so any hostels are good I don't read in hostels now now that I'm nearly thirty I'm very I don't only like hostels anymore because I every time I go there I end up getting annoyed of people for waking me up at 3 a.m. when they come back in the dormitory and slam all the doors and drives me mad as a grumpy old man do you like hostels mmm I used to stay when I was in college your as a successful brilliant businessman suppose you don't eat hostels anymore now when I was when I was studying abroad a sitting possible all the time with Australia past hospitals I'd rather sleep in a capsule hotel because Lisa get some privacy that my privacy privacy mr. gage garage garage okay both of you have traveled Japan a lot but is there anywhere you you still want to visit so yeah I want to visit you up north you got to talk and talk and Oh quite a bit uh you see let me know Kyushu what'd you get cereal ball it's so good white chocolate white chocolate with white chocolate with berries and a kind of cereal thanks younger they already know the diet doesn't start so much it's just very nice they are camera because it's really on camera okay hi Chris to you my friend i watch the latest documentary you made and loved it will be awesome she made more more of them mmm so you're not question about a compliment yeah I am yeah I really enjoyed making the last video it was very emotional [Music] yeah I'm gonna make more videos like that more serious in tone I was amazed by the response I thought I don't know why I thought a lot of people might find it not interesting or boring or something I'm quite pessimistic when it comes to entry right I think everybody I know I think a lot of people watching YouTube have short attention span so something serious like that is quite hard to watch but the response was fantastic got great views got more likes than average twenty five thousand likes I think that thousand comments that more than usual so yeah I felt like wow this is great and I want to do this more so kind of maybe have like more faith in the yeah just Orlando sort of good though I think yeah yeah yeah very smooth video some people say yeah see from keep keep on rocking what is your visa situation like can you stay indefinitely are you planning on becoming a Japanese citizen Japanese citizen no but I've I am I'm basically I'm gonna get PR I'm a month away you know what yeah I'll program the residents yeah how long did he not to news so for me I don't cuz I'm a child of a national Japanese I skip I skipped the whole process is Japanese and it might yeah Japanese Asian but I actually know I renounce my got the citizens actually I will choose American rule to family cuz I have a child national these I could have actually applied for Japanese passport but I renounced it because actually there's an eighty but my visa lawyer told me there's an 80% chance at action team.o however that kind of percent obviously would be very bad American citizenship so how about this one these are comments comment common man this is like are they just keeps jumping do either of you have experience or knowledge about longer distance travel around Japan on a bicycle my voice what's his name and remarks to be good about that I keep travel Japan throughout I love to love to actually as I always in this dream of like cycling from Hokkaido to Kyushu by bicycle really the adventures you have along the way get out hours are all the people you meet book afterwards Rosen's tripping me up reflex watch we have to bicycle a 35 kilometers I was doesn't call of effort then but I did have that might want my favorite experience in Japan ever was a hundred kilometers Michael touch it called the Shimon ami tidal cycling from Hiroshima to crap [Music] shikaku so from hiroshima tush across the inland sea there's like dozens of islands and they're connected by lots of bridges and they spend millions of dollars or millions of yen on this really amazing cycle route that goes through the islands and it's just the most amazing thing I've got sunstroke because it was like 40 degrees and I was wearing a hat amazing Hiscox your mother no come on him it don't know probably like yeah amazing experience Shimon army keidel that's if you want to do that cycle that's what it's called unfortunately it's quite difficult thing to know is that Shimon army keidel amazing how this cycle thing why is this sea robot Melbourne everywhere this is disaster melted everywhere and I don't know why is it hot coffee ah as you can buy cans of coffee that already really hot in the convenience stores in the in the bag with the cereal bar and then that Mel it and I'm gonna stop talking about this is it true that people often still go to work even if they are ill because they think they can lose their jobs kind of a lot of people still there to work ill but they're wearing face masks right yeah but it's outside of Asia not because I can't lose their jobs because they're all have full-time lifetime employment so no so I think it's more the fact that talk to a lot of people actually going works still even if they're ill because they don't want to give their co-workers the burden of their workload sometimes they're basically missing on their work dummy something else has to do with this long guilt surround if you take a day off like you get you'll feel awful so no workers will not like you so they can do with losing your job it's more of a guilt media collectivism downsize let's see any tips for traveling around on a budget in the South half of Japan so you're talking about Shikoku are talking about pass southern okay come on Hiroshima okay yeah back yeah my budget in the south of Japan stay in hostels yes I don't think it's any difference between the South half compared to anywhere else in Japan hostels use night buses or the rail pass yeah and if we find actually not mine when I was in college I always took night buses the longest lava suture lungs and that was it took was seventeen hours from where to where it was from Kyoto to Kagoshima whoa seventeen hours seventeen all those seventeen minutes on a night bus no seventeen hours a night bus and then I was one of my first times re lucky ma island and then I took a three hour ferry ride from yeah cover Shima to action oh that's horrible when will you meet Ken Watanabe don't don't rub it in I've been told like a mountain of it for ages there we go again for part two of documentary and we mention I think somewhere might be on the new podcast that I wanted to meet Ken Watanabe is well we're making the documentary I was told I would probably get to meet him at another no I didn't and I was gutted I've never lived that down Japan's most famous actor overseas how do you yeah it's last Semmering he's the main guy that's it right Chris brought how do you say taco taco taco you say taco what do you say taco taco taco taco um have you ever visited totally I was just in totally and Chris Brown has not been a totally next follow up question would you want to go to totally maybe have you seen the sand dunes pictures okay did they look it's already it does do a good it look exhilarating I like to point out by the way I usually put a lot of effort into everything I do the podcast the new podcasts videos I make some live show stuff but seeing as this line shows hosted on Chris's channel I don't have to put any effort into play so I'm just gonna roll with it this is your life shape I'm just gonna sit in here and eat cereal bars and drink water interestingly Chris aapke name doesn't drink water for our taps he joins exclusively Suntory bottled water yeah for its annoys me why cuz bottled water is great and all but really you can drink have a tap of Bree nearly four no but yeah but chlorinated water is actually good for you know I I know that but know that the taste is so different it's not oh is it have you had Evian yes it is horrible it seemed think you can see some difference right no what is this is it Suntory is that this is from this bottle Berg that y'all just fold it from right now it's great oh dude taste of water is very very very very important you have some viewers even from small countries like Austria I don't know you both Chris I've used from every country in the world I think I lose the statistics I was like I've new is in 200 countries and how many countries are there 206 230 really wait web serie how many countries are there in the world it definitely didn't work so first how many countries are there in the world no didn't work there are 195 countries in the writer I've got more 195 countries in the world and I've got viewers from 203 countries which means either I'm lying or YouTube includes sovereign states like Monaco and Liechtenstein and other cities and stuff but yeah so yeah I do have lots of super views it's weird to think you go like I've got at least like one viewer in every country in the world wait so much until 2055 this is 95 yeah this 255 includes sovereign states that just gives me like big countries yeah that that answers that question that lets you go out of hand isn't it we took that on a whole new level of a geographical we're going a lot here today 195 countries and only two countries that are not members of the United Nations the holy seal and the state of Palestine what does this one if I'm basing Osaka for a two-week holiday is it pretty cheap to travel to the surrounding areas like Cobain killed or is there some sort of pacts I can get for the whole two weeks just got the gyro fast no yeah but it is very close anyway yes also kind of Kobe will be like an hour train or anything on the hunky line oh maybe shake of the gyro pass because the honkies actually the main trend it's two weeks then no but in between also published words there's no oh I'm not sure I'm not sure how no don't get a pass just are you busy got it see we have a subway and then don't go okay you choose a honk you yeah do you think is pretentious to put her to pronounce place names the way they would be in their language of origin when speak English um I don't think so that's probably a question though but people often ask me about Osaka and I say that in English that's like British English Osaka is in Japanese well it's also us all sucker no I said when I say totally porn you're just mad it's top 30 yeah yeah I bet I pronounced Japanese place is kind of British English style you know Shiva Hiroshima Hiroshima Iran Schwimmer well Hiroshima Welker fugu can see Oh will you go to Tahoe okay you guys that one will you guys good I think that's aimed at you once again I said I wanted to go to Tokyo in warmer seasons just because Chris Rado is busy sister so beautiful and northern nature is just amazing I've only been to two I've only been in the Telugu regions that's right or area in the winter so would you recommend a backpack or a small suitcase for a female solo traveler that plans on moving around a lot I would recommend a backpack yep definitely a backpack yep all the way have you guys ever experienced anything paranormal there not sure okay that's cool question their paranormal no but I did feel a bit weird going to the grave of Jesus Christ in our warning that felt it weird was that you watch all my videos Cruz is that is that that didn't do very well did it no so yeah absolutely yeah I made a video I so heard that's place where Jesus died partly in North Japan oh I was like I wanted together for two three years and I went up there with my friend retro and yeah it's really weird like it's kind of eerie I mean you know it's complete bollocks to some extent I think there is like a burial mound and I think there might be a missionary very there from 100 200 years ago whatever but I still felt it weird being there this big giant cross it's ten foot cross above this Mound and then a stone tablet from Israel and it's alright it's still rather confusing and whether they look weird and wouldn't call it paranormal bias so odd miss their activity in the first place I thought it can beat nothing happened got like no bees nobody cares I was really good although although I've got an Australian newspaper really late well they branded me they were like Chris broad is an alternative theorist yes I mean I'm telling to theorist over the thought that means so that was the only the only good thing to come out of that whole video was Australian news making up silly titles and that's what everything uncle I want Stevie now I'm an alternative theorist age 27 from the UK does this one how many hours do know me invest for a video I'm so curious for you I'm busy if I actually sit down invested time in a video I can have a video done from start to finish not three days two or three days I don't know stuff in the beginning in terms of research special from research medicine research on the video take for example off see I made a video about a robot hotel Arta bollocks there's somewhat like those you guys I think someone some of you guys here message me on Twitter and you were like oh my god we seen this article about robot hotel and I was like yes let's go next when bullet train down we filmed there took about day and I edited it together and about another day and that was it that was easy about two days done robot hotel admittedly I didn't put a lot of offense that video because it was my hotel by word dinosaur hotel the tsunami video the tsunami video the most recent video I must have spent about three or four days on that editing filming took about three days no yeah took about three days to film the tsunami video the brace recent video one to three days and about three or four days to edit it so about a week to make the tsunami video which I'm quite happy about given that the quality is not too bad it's eight it's 18 minutes pretty actually but we did a bit research there we got some research now must take another two or three days well then also have to get all the interviews lined up right we did yeah okay sorry that so yeah but we got that video done quickly usually a TV programmer take like a month to do that all right let's see what else we got here every time I she's Chris to a friend ensign how'd you how'd you build it up um how I meet realtor when I met him I went to a startup business event in Yamagata when I was like teaching and I'm really a really nice really nice guy three nice entrepreneur venture capitalists and he invited me over to Sendai for like dinner so I went from Yamagata to spend about two and half hour drive I met him for dinner and invited real true very also he didn't come busy yeah so Rio and I met a week later and my friends connected we opto and I because he's probably had a similar shared interests like realtor I wanted to I promote table hockey I made videos and we got on really well we met and had them sushi and this talks like three or four hours and got really well and maybe we can make videos together and that's kind of where happen weird like good chemistry because he lived in the UK for like three years I think he's I've got good British mentality so we had a good kind of rapport and so I thought it would work really well like I I prefer doing travel videos with real girl that I do with nasty in some in some ways cuz easier and it's easy but i suppose with Eska small random you don't know what to expect yeah that's how I met realtor anyway more of the stories don't choke by talking the more of the stories get involved in day things if I never gone to the startup business weekend event I would never met the guy that introduced me to real true yet that's one of my actions I'm so emotional my story it's making the cough and choke actually yeah always good networking best rep you can clearly important stuff okay this was X pretty good have all the places you visited which would you like to experience again the the robot dinosaure hotel named it for called our name isn't tokyo going to in chiba next it is neil and actually Okinawa Islands - we know all over the place we visited which would you like to experience again that'll get one no there's only before that's half one room but I did I did actually enjoy now I'd love to go to Okinawa again the beaches were phenomenal or you can beat his competitors beat the beaches in the UK quite good right yeah they're not like hot we didn't have Sun in the UK we haven't invented that yet ah the sand is really nice - the waters croaking I don't have any mijin trust me shit-faced allergic spirits again alright I know I know as Lille islands off the place I used to live I used to live in Sakata in Yamagata right in the north and 20 kilometers of the coast of soccer is little island called Torishima google it tobu talk big for Betty ob/ob I Shi MA Toby Shima Toby she and Justin coming up so anyway this island has only got 100 people on it and it's like a little desert island it's so cool awesome yeah hundred people on it and it's so remote and it used to be used to be controlled by pirates they used to be called like pirates and like pirates from around Japan Korea and China used to stow their treasure away on this island really yeah and I was like I made some friends went then we cycled around the island to the back of the island and then their path ran out for a bike we until I got off the bike and we walked through the sea because I see was really shallow is like that deep then we walk through the water we walked around the rocks and we saw this little stone staircase in between the trees and between these like little this like bush we got some sticks and whack the bush away and work to why at the path we found this little temple it's a little like decrepid collapsed temple that's just falling down and standing there from this temple in this little forest on the back of an island and we'll have no we're about a hundred people on it it just felt like wow house is awesome didn't find any treasure very disappointed by now how long is the fair aid to this panel are we were already sick because the ferry the little boat was like going over the waves like that and all three of us were violently sick further than that beautiful island I just had a real sense of Benja - I felt like a pirate that's that's that's the experience I'd love to repeat again pirate pirate adventure I'll take you there one day yeah you can discover the lost temple but Indiana Jones dick pushing away the trees okay let's see yes yes wacko pirates that's the name of the Pirates the Pirates yeah yeah but they call them like pirates a derogatory term because everyone got really pissed off oh wait living a stupid pirates let's see if Japan knows we little pirates they're pissing everyone off so like it you're the pirates pirates let make a lot of money interesting video pirates actually actually pirate this entire adventure maybe yet does not hold on there though is like a little pasta shop and history's kind of call them yeah like yeah maybe gotta fund your trip for there now what's your favorite brand quote or is they don't gives you jobs resent the office what would you say are they reading question yeah what's your favorite print Queen you don't know what David Byrne is D yeah was that I'm not gonna come on you know start educating me all that you know the office yeah the British version of the office no well the American office is written by God could you base the British so a shark tank brilliant based on British The Devil's what the devil's a parameter called it's Shark Tank really based on a British version shark tank I rise that what you call Dragon's Den jag is dead yeah is that actually discover is it really based upon stolen from Japan whereas cooled like I really there's actually yeah started companies is anybody famous when you're one but Mark Cuban's like they're like you know Mavericks yeah maverick yeah dude has everyone a he calls himself a maverick I need Paul anymore do i watch this video this guy he did election for 17 hours saying Logan Paul 100,000 times chip did he do anything high no for 17 hours he just livestream it you didn't got like six million views we could have made some good money I know right you know it was like no you can monetize your life what do you mean power you can you come on is it'll actually but how would that work I think when they came back right so when the work that were there are on as those six billion viewers would watch to blow curious mysterious man Chris do you think Japanese houses are bigger than the average house in England no not to our house is in England big compared to American houses British houses a pathetic in size and scale although I think they're built better in the UK because we'd like these bricks stronger more resolute but no Japanese houses are smaller and they don't have gardens really a lot of time either like you think are Japanese gardens beautiful but Japanese guns are nice they're usually in public places or temples like most people don't have a garden in Japan yeah you've got a little balcony right yeah overlooking the Tokyo skyline yeah because I garden yeah no daffodils out there don't wanna cladding yeah you gotta maintain that III had a little balcony in my old apartment in Yamagata and I spend like $100 ten thousand adding flowers and then I forgot to water their dialogue so yeah hours later thirsty hey I was like oh I think I was especially 48 how is gone wrong jet like that no I got I've got a specific amount I was really angry myself I was like why did I water them what was I thinking do I had I had fake plans of mine Lister and they still got that basic dust accumulated so much I got fake plants and they don't know how was that quote how are you wait wait wait my fake flower float plants in the in my link in my flame mouth fake plants flip-flops whatever okay they are just accumulate on them so hard that they became like dark it's just white pick no flowers it is a fair plastic no I got I got fake plants beside fake plants that died oh look this guy said I saw you at Shake Shack for a baggage and lunch you saw me Shake Shack at lunch weird that's interesting yeah I went to Shake Shack or a pond get lunch you did spot me very good yeah I did really like Shake Shack expensive I was my second time ever to go to Shake Shack and I was napping a service of a bit and it's like three times the price of a normal burger and the burger was good I can't deny that Shake Shack burgers there right but are they really worth the cost of what you pay no I don't understand the Shake Shack brand I was watching a video about the Shake Shack you know Shake Shack video in Central Park in New York and they're interviewing people and they were like this isn't just a burger it's a brand it's know so it was like it's not just a burger it's a philosophy it's a way of life I was like it's a burger it's literally a dead cow some bread on and that's great you know but like I don't understand why with people so fixated but still it was the right burger and the crinkle-cut bloody fries were good but give me a Wendy's any day really bacon oh yeah or Wendy's when is Wendy's his melon Shake Shack I hate Wendy's considering the price call if there was going Shake Shack was the same price as Wendy laughs - nature like this one was experienced was your experience not doing this fist positive-negative I'm not 10 years old posit negative oh I don't want to go down that slippery slope but would I be able to work at a Japanese high school if I've gotten a Masters of Education I think so a master of education is that actually is that a qualification there are no master's degree if you've got a master's you're gonna do well I think you still need to if you want to a Japanese high school as a proper teacher you need to get a special Japanese qualification it's going for the Japanese education process there's a way I think that's for public schools private schools yeah you need a mat you you 100% need a masters typically for college OSGi college so you work the Japanese is it difficult being such a sarcastic person in Japan do you feel frustrated by the Japanese slapstick humor yeah it's difficult I've lost my biting satirical sarcastic tone I used to enjoy so much it's just gone it doesn't work anymore sarcasm slapstick Kimura in Japan seriously the Pima hearing on TV particular is awful it's like just people are slapping each other in the face and it's like ha ha ha ha slap and it's like only I don't really like Japanese TV humor straight simple it's childish childish it's very like yeah I think British humors quite it's quite refined regime is based a lot around with rhetoric and phrases and brush Sheila Jimmy Kimmel Jimmy Kimmel Jimmy Fallon Jimmy Jimmy Fallon he doesn't have a sense of it should be found just fake laughs everything I've you've watched Jimmy family just lost everything you can say anything he'll just laugh ah hahaha film was so good hey he just laughs everything oh look here he comes here he comes the anime man's burst in Oh Joey Joey the anime man he's done what I always do right I go into when someone friend of mines got a live chat or go on like 1 minute I'll leave a comment and pretend that I've been there the whole time I'm gonna stuff how does that work come on who at what point does someone go yes you are the man who's ready to run a million dollar 47 [Laughter] this is good would you say that at or should ever go to McDonald's Japan once once does it try it is different no it's not well actually Japanese put the contour Japanese Japanese McDonald's tastes exactly the same as British McDonald's but I think that's different from America McDonald's is it as I remember when I went to America and I know McDonald's it was like thrice the size of British McDonald's race - sounds like you have a small chips there like here you go there's a bucket and then just get a bucket of chips or fries by the way Joey can't respond back so yeah if a sponsor I keep hey he did what I do always yeah it is Joey just sent me a worth it similar I find this do well country you want to visit you happen all right I'll temper the month kenji all right so what cutters have you you want to visit you haven't ready if you want to feel cooler cooler drinking water crits fill an empty vodka bottle with water drink from it it's actually really your idea I think I know people that do that you can get yeah yeah pokeball flute water Week maybe solo travel from Tokyo place for Golden Week just don't go don't go get a pair of golden wheat building weeks a week in early May where everyone's on holiday and it's the worst week ever so don't ever be in Japan during Golden Week or if you are just lock yourself in a room close the doors close the windows and watch white Indiana Jones one two and three repeat until golden week is over yes stay the away from me see everything's quite horrible every bus you take every train you take every plane you take is to start horn don't don't become Japan gone week please all right we're gonna end this in ten minutes so it's over 10 so we're leaving to live in 30 so if you guys want to ask your questions ask him now you guys haven't already hit depend website so if you haven't watched the newborn japan podcast which he's not in thankfully and check outs on the Twitter and Facebook page go there it's quite good and it's working progress I'm still learning how to do podcasts and how to talk continuously for an hour but it's quite good so check out the abroad in Japan podcast that's that's my plug for the podcast wait I just keep jumping you're so at reading questions can y'all recommend hot springs around Japan that allowed tattoos Kol hot springs around Japan that loud tattoos it's actually a website where you can look it up type in like Japan hot spring tattoos and I think there's a website which actually tells you the hot springs that do and don't allow tattoo it's early but you know a lot of hot springs now have plasters that you can put over or band-aids band-aid over the tattoo to hide the tattoo unless your arm is covered in tattoos in which case you're yeah but yeah it's not so much an issue anymore though especially the Olympics they're trying to get rid of this stupid crap about not being able to go in for a tea even real troll has tattoo oh really it's real good when we film the hot spring yes to sit at a certain angle to hide the tattoo on his arm I was really knowing we had a really good shot is there a recent video where he would I went to a hot spring and then afterwards I said in the video there's like crucify okay suit or to do so I was like Photoshop his arm I have like a digital like oh well behind this tattoo that's the kind of effort that goes into the abroad in Japan videos that they won't ever know this is amazed about digital arms for real try to hide his tattoos it's pretty cool because these questions these nice people across the North finish ooh can you suggest any good islands near Tokyo I have heard there are many which are managed by took a Metropolitan Government what was it very much yes time to visit Mount Fuji July July and August in fact I think that's the only two months the unique invisible Fuji isn't it oh yes to planet it's a commandment yeah yeah quickly sorry the Tokyo the island near Tokyo I forget what that islands called but I haven't been to actually everything have you even ventured out to any art as I tell you no Haven Mishima yeah so I discussed earlier see 10 minutes ago conversation ah Alba Shima al Mishima edition yeah yeah I wish you like yeah what I enjoy doing is at the bottom here you got the view count right how many people are watching turn the wheel 269 dealers now and like it's quite interesting watching on the sentences when people disappear the phrase is the moments in the video he like it on gone and now it's dropped to 265 that's 262 keep talking about funny distracting there I'm thinking whenever I do live shows I like to just hide that bit because whether the viewing figure goes down she's probably cuz people have been watching for now I'm kind of like I'm done now which I would be probably I just think it I'm off base it's quite distracting do you feel like oh no people leaving ugh I'm nothing this come on how long you guys plan to stay in Japan 3 I don't have an end date or my time in Japan I'll just know what I'm done basically as abroad in Japan I've made it quite difficult for myself to leave and then do something else do some sort of transition my long-term aim is just to be a film editor right so hopefully I'll just keep using YouTube as a platform to move it to be if you'll make it and then I'll fail end up living under a bridge in Wales that's welding why well these are the welders do I do boys well it's a country where near England oh I know I don't I know it's in the north part of the of the of the in Rhode Island absolutely wrong no no they weren't it works it was it and West was it West I mean what's going into this Scott looked down not doing the job if we the United Kingdom talked inevitable talk that just made me getting Australia what's wrong with Wales nothing's wrong with well now we were just discussing if I know Wales I was in Cardiff just two weeks ago lovely see what's famous in Wales rugby rugby very friendly oh look at this list rebrand you're on in the world the reason I said under a bridge in Wales is because I think people are nice in Wales and they would be more likely to give me things I think I'm free bread was there's been a well pressed as a well accident what's the difference between a whale person what do you call it well what he calls on from Wales well oh well I'm sure the people of Wales watching this which i think is just woven ER he's actually yeah what one person made from Wales will be very delighted to know that you've referred to them as a Wales person with Tom Jones on Wales god oh gosh Chris door Welsh accent doing is it that different to do what do you mean how can it be so different well it's not gonna movie where is Nazca the movie I'll show Chris a clip from that's giving the Earl is it's quite good the ending and the beginning yeah yeah just like it you guys are in for a good surprise a good surprise yeah a nice balloon Abbas in case if you want already excited about Nazca maybe you should be yeah you should be very surprised a bit early spring well at least this wide open well person well she's a weird language where is it different in different words this is telling them to a massive cultural divide you now will you're now well perfect longest name I'm super excited yeah Oh what's his cold on a ski movie crystal wash accent any last-minute questions guys yeah yeah any last-minute questions two minutes go go go where is the netsuke in general where's that ski that skis in Yamagata we haven't I haven't seen him since January actually because I've been on the road and I'll get back in the UK but yeah we're hoping to do some filming in jatin in March yeah looking forward to catching up in a ski yeah we're thinking to bring him to take care much making some videos here oh yeah Montana in summer will he sleeps like Panther oh yes yes yes I'm kind of done with Marvel movies I watched thor ragnarok on the plane coming back from that's good now and I fell asleep no because it's every every yo-yo five quid what's quick five dollars for someone yeah what's a quick guy manly five tattoos is a foreigner would I get weird looks at an onsen also that strong zero might help with your cough it might help with my cough going but I'm not not gonna drink strong zero before bed wake up early yes I probably would get weird looks if you're not saying if you coverage but you might yeah I mean if I might kick you out I've got it every time I've been on said the last six months the person I've been with has a tattoo it's not a big tattoo though it's quite you know it's quite a smaller and they don't mind often you can just hide it and go away get away with it right but depends how big your tattoos are if you're covered in tattoos like your arms then that'll get bad looks all those you get away with it still they're not gonna think of yeah keys are obviously I care yeah it depends on the size of your tattoos basically just do your research you can find it on somewhere you can get away with it when it's okay well they do exist our cigarettes so cheap in Japan the pretty game Chris ago she expected me get cigarettes are half the price in Japan in the UK we pay like seven pounds for a pack in Japan it's about four hundred yen which is about two pounds fifty its ludicrously cheap and you get three packs of cigarettes when you go to bars where I've been in bars and restaurants and I've been sitting there and like someone from Marlborough will come over usually an attractive young lady will come over with a guy and she'll be like do you want to try free cigarette and I'm like yeah all right you try it and then I go which flavor do you want this strawberry flavor or the cherry flavor and you're like are the cherry and they give you a free package cigarettes it's ridiculous awful but free cigarettes they don't do cigarettes it awful I guess we're gonna wrap it up all right and you've lost 20 beers yeah cool thank you guys so much for joining in the live stream are you guys please
