ladies and gentlemen welcome to another sorted food ultimate chef versus chef battles today's criteria is 14 and a half minute meal here we have chef James here we have chef Ben they both think making out chef another chef who said he could do meals in 15 minutes they can shave 30 seconds off of that Ben you're up first what are you cooking I'm going for sticky cajun chicken with corn threeway mmm James I'm going for pens poached strawberries with clotted cream James thanks for keeping up the high tempo berry I guess there's nothing else to save us get it all I've been off more than I can chew I've tried to be on fishes to show what might be possible and 14 half minutes I'm not sure it is ever 3 2 1 preheat the pan next up chicken things can take the longest to cook so I've got chicken thigh I'm going to place it on a bit of paper to cover another bit of paper and do that thing I learned from Mike earlier in a week increase the surface area occasion spice so if you're cooking this short amount of time to use the cheap that are there already combine a little bit of oil a pinch of seasoning I think sending to my colleagues and I sort of seemed to like spend them by the vendor the another sort of rice dish with hard-boiled on Tuesday so I wanted to pick a different staple to showcase a quick savory dish like uh some staples no yeah that's what sort of horses going into this are you ready for the batter the batter is really simple it's one of those ones you don't really need to weigh something out it's four tablespoons of flour one egg and about 30 ml of milk which is about a shot clock so I think one critical part in my dish would be making sure given that's got flour in it that it's cooked out so it's got to cook the flour in the time I want to make them light and fluffy to a pinch of baking powder season generously and then all of myself goes in so that's corn spring onion and tomato tricolor loads of stuff objects we are hitting four minutes or maybe gone four minutes on so far we have warm milk raw chicken and broth flour yummy yellow change a plan I'm going to add some coriander in here as well because I want it with flecks of green color he's freestyling James how much freestyling is gonna happen to your zero well sealing well I mean I haven't tried yeah well altogether pretty much your recipe is a freestyle is that we're saying into a nonstick pan not exactly fine cornmeal cooks really quickly now it has come up to a boil I'm going to add one clove of garlic I'm going to add a pinch of cumin you get that I'm going to season it with salt and then the cornmeal goes in how powers get and it pretty much cooked Infini looking like a mashed potato consistency it's always making things that got much more total consistency and I've never made fresh potato okay so I do corn the third way I've got a hot pan it was preheating while we're waiting I'm going to place some oil in you can see how hot the pan is I'm going to place some popcorn in or corn kernels and in that hot oil they will pop that shouldn't take long at all or is there a zipper cut you see you 14 and a half minute meals have to impress me don't get some popcorn pop it in there cut out pop out pop out so many sound effects you need to have your sound effect game I am Jennifer Silas and I think I can say chicken not far off done amazingly already but I said at the start with sticky chicken so now some honey that's going to burn a little bit in the pan but a pleasure to Keillor Oh we'll stop that from reducing down burning I'm going to go white girl wasted and give you an amazing flavor around the chicken he's only bringing knowledge from Hollywood Britta's Oh partially cooked yep by that I mean on one side we'll flip them and in the last minute there's no fat in this really so the last minute I'm gonna throw some butter in the pan and let them Brown off 5 minutes remaining 1 minute remember you can plate up as well been in these eight five minutes our bad critters critters the fridges are soft popcorn is so random like texture we won the flavors all their chicken I mean frigid it could be crispier it's very nice unlike an occasion splice on the chicken polenta always a slightly dodgy choice if you ask me but those fritters are cooked some popcorn cleaning any more threatened you know what I am more threatened by the time scared at the time not charlie well in that case let's get on with it whoa okay Oh No okay I am going to put the hob on so I've got the pans on the two big cobs small pans that big table and I'm going to put some pins in Montaigne's okay like going and I'm gonna put this sugar in there so I'll get that heated up how you feeling so far confident can you tell I'm not that comfortable right now I'm going to hold the strawberries and half them done my strawberries they're going in the pin they are going to poach for about 10 minutes assess my garnish course during the strawberries with the green on a little color so let's just what do you guys think lift off so you're making a pretty feathers I once thanks strawberries and cream but it's like strawberries and a little in fun yes enforcing - I can explain we make it opaque it making a little take a minute and I'm going to be some caramel white chocolate in the microwave you may just kind of say no payoff of that you always admit that dessert and not your hits it with some sugar to a syrup I should take ten minutes of the the sponges actually the last thing though by switches progress I'm going to melt some butter in the microwave because it's a quick top some white chocolate I couldn't find the Prosecco I know what chocolate I'm topping with so it cooks quicker I'm going to cook that for a like a minute at a time until it starts actually like burning so it goes melty and then it ceases and start caramelizing so we want that like solid chocolate rather than milk people you think it's gone wrong that's kind of what you know exactly yeah and it's kind of that's what you're not looking for when you microwave chocolate okay I'm going to make your cake ten minutes remain in it up in five minutes oh my god that was quick butter and sugar in a bowl put some flour on it first then the egg goes then milk it looks like an all-in-one vacuum it's okay this is an all-in-one but it's super easy actually and it takes less time than the white chocolate in the microwave doing a cake in the microwave and then baking powder give it a little bit of rise listen so here's the thing there's nothing wrong with a microwave always you use it in the right way unlike polenta true Canella pot probably good enough half of vanilla pod strong on flavor say I think that instead of showing like lots of different techniques of stuff it really needs to be like concentration of flavor and texture and color so that's going to give you a better result if you keep it super simple okay my microwave sponge is actually ready to go so got a little ramekin and I'm going to put some strawberry jam different different types of strawberries in the bottom still turn that out and the strawberry will be on top mini elderflower vanilla Prosecco in picking a lot of boxes I'm going to fill the Buster like halfway up this is kind of nerve-wracking because it's going to expand I think could just go all over the place we're running up to seven minutes right so maybe four minutes ago right it's quite cold at halfway and I'll forget apart from them like it's the most hands ever been right now in the kitchen okay so you'll see that this is starting to caramelize and seize which is what we want to put some freeze-dried strawberries in there oh we've got fresh strawberries folks probably still be damned under the sponge and then free thread probably probably need caramel so I ended three things with cool you've done four things with strawberries well it makes it takes it better I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because I'm using rubber jam which is obviously shot off an amusing freeze virtually no support but in this situation I think we kind of need to give yourself a little like a little bit of a leg up and create things out of like creates flavors in fences out back and did grow the corn himself as well I didn't I mean you didn't even mill the cornmeal or try out the popcorn back how long have fun to me the sponge takes 50 seconds done I'm okay I'm good 50 seconds 50 seconds 50 seconds to make a cake yeah I'm gonna read that out onto a baking tray put in the fridge just stir that up a little bit punch goes in I'm in right here for a minute I mean if it works it sounds brilliant it sounds delicious and that procedure was delicious tell me about it it's nice I should really have got your globular alright time to sit still stop waking up waking up I just love to play a bunch of kid I says good you have no time to make another one of the princes yeah yes at the other side if you don't stick your finger in it oh okay Oh looking good a lot these others jam in the ball of it salmon's one oh you know wait okay a lot of heart a little bit it's really hot but we want to know if I can exceed instructor you have fun we got a minute and a half remaining my goodness hey guys it'll only fit and fresh strawberries just for a bit of balance with a bad set the fan yeah are you seeing a trend if you look like this is coming together quite nicely this is looking incredible it's going to have because one crunch there's nothing sweet so this is prepare some clotted cream with the Queen Oh summaries British little rose bringing but with everything else with it the jam of anything it makes it really moist you go crunch in the biscuits you've got all the straws all the swinging up in alcohol all the process as well made it syrup made caramelized white chocolate made a sponge poach the strawberries and then carefully collected a lot of short bought ingredients but make them work but you you need to just not talk it's very good make very high light camera is my chocolate it's all fantastic and it it's not just sweetener is it it's like there is balance there there's lots of citric buddy laughs and you know what rose petals on it that's the winning dessert I'd want after winning me it's only well and okay so it's time to decide who wins so shall we um cooking birth because we prefer we should confirm remaking tomatoes legs okay so guys I really want to get a dog it's going to be a proper dog for properly you know so does the cowboy yeah thanks I drink I'm going to subscribe yeah I might I might as
