if there's one thing that's been the most controversial of any video that i've ever had it's been my cheesesteak video bunch of bunch of negative comments y'all chill out y'all chill out this right here is a cheesesteak video most of all this isn't to be a philly cheesesteak replica authentic philly cheesesteak okay this is hungry healthy cheesesteak and i make good groceries so i make it the way hungerhousey wants to do it alright so first things first want to get that out of the way this is a cheesesteak video i'm gonna have onions i'm gonna have peppers i'm gonna put some mayonnaise on my bun what you know about that look y'all i've had philly cheesesteak i like it it's good i've had a denix sandwich too it was the bomb today i'm doing a cheesesteak my way all right so first i want to let you know about the ingredients okay so i got four nice piles of shaved rib eye steak that's the first thing you want to get rib eye are some frozen variations that use sirloin don't use that use a rib eye nice fatty beautiful tender rib eye so what i did right now we're in december a lot of rib roasts are on sale y'all take advantage of it buy you a rib roast 6.99 a pound that is cheap so i took that rib roast i put it in the freezer for a little bit to really firm it up a little bit then i just took my doll strong knife and just really just came in really thinly sliced it okay made it real real thin and i portioned these out to eight ounce piles so it got eight ounces half pound of meat per roll so that's what we did we just got these not four beautiful piles of meat here and we're gonna season these up my seasoning here is two tablespoons of beef powder no beef powder i got about a teaspoon of kosher salt i got about a teaspoon of garlic powder and onion powder you need to shake that all around get it nice and incorporated makes it all beautiful that's our seasoning for both our meat and our vegetables boy it's gonna be some good groceries rolls let's talk about our rolls y'all got these nice beautiful rolls if you've got a like an italian restaurant near just go up and say hey can i buy some rolls from you these are the roma brand rolls i know several places around me they use these rolls they come frozen so just put them in your freezer and use them when you're ready beautiful beautiful beautiful they're eight inch rolls and they're good a lot better than the store-bought stuff like a grocery store these are store-bought obviously some at some store i'm sure so well hey there you go folks let's get to cooking all right y'all hey i'm ready to get these cheesesteaks going on this blackstone want to get the griddle nice and warmed up we're anywhere from 3 20 all the way to 367. perfect we're just going to get these peppers and we're gonna get these onions on here first okay this is avocado oil and butter i'll do that so that it increases the smoke point of the butter don't burn got red peppers and i got some onions beautiful i've gotten a lot of flack for the first cheesesteak video which i did a long time ago peppers don't belong on a philly cheesesteak this is a hussy cheesesteak i want to tell you that so we're just going to just want to get these onions and you want to get these peppers nice and sweat all the burners got all the burners on low right now by the way y'all want to take some of this some of this seasoning that we made up liberally on those okay you want to make sure they got some little little seasoning on them too we're just going to let those go for a couple minutes we're going to move them around make sure they don't get burnt you really want these to be done for you put your rib eye on there because it goes fast once you put that shaved ribeye down on the griddle it goes extremely fast one thing i want to go over didn't go over earlier is the cheese what kind of cheese are we going to do i'm not going to do whiz i said that earlier this is boar's head brand american cheese white american and also have boar's head brand thinly sliced provolone cheese beautiful beautiful provolone cheese this picante actually has got a little bit more of a bite to it so that's gonna be the cheese of choice i'll probably do one of each the wife only likes provolone all right let's see where we're at they still got a little crunch to it kind of al dente kind of go however you like it if you like on really really soft go really really soft i think we're at a good spot with those i think now they do need a little bit more seasoning didn't really taste a whole lot with that pepper now y'all the time has come to put our beautiful beef down on the griddle first things first you want to get this griddle smoking hot avocado oil i got this burner on low with our peppers and onions i've cranked these three up to high eventually we're gonna have to cut those down it's gonna get really really hot it's already you kind of see some smoke already 400 degrees right there getting on over there let's get a little cooler and they were four 450 right there we're gonna let that get up a little bit more because when we drop this meat down it's going to drop the temperature i want to go ahead and preface this i'm sorry folks from philly are going to roll over and they might come to see me but i put mayonnaise on my bun and we're gonna lay it down we're gonna toast it a little bit um it's gonna be awesome 500 degrees 500 degrees right there let's do it i'll come here do my best [Music] i don't want to put it down in a glob just want to kind of fan it out so that each piece can get some caramelization on it there we go man smell rib eye golly boy let's be some good groceries now we'll come in here with our seasoning [Music] liberally just like that all right oh yeah boy [Music] like i said y'all this goes fast i'm going to lay this bun i'll let it get kind of toasty just to get it warm i just want to get it warm see where our bread is there we go look at there now i'll put a little bit more mayonnaise because well the other mayonnaise is gone all right now this is mine right here i like mine like you know all the way so i want to put my peppers put my peppers and onions on there all right [Music] and mix it in my wife likes peppers and onions on hers though she does no mayonnaise on her bun and she wants provolone only provolone [Music] just like that [Music] i'm gonna do provolone and white american this is how we're gonna melt it [Music] you ready it's been literally 30 seconds well it's beautiful here's mine this is what we're going to do we're going to put it on top of there wife's putting it on top of there what that also does is steams your bun probably nice and steamed by now we're just gonna get under this thing gonna put your hand down like this come under it [Music] look at that look at that come in here all this gooey cheese dang boy y'all hey it's cheesesteaks they're done boys things look amazing i'm gonna put this off to the side the wife's like i said i'm gonna slice these dudes a little chilly out here today it's all right it's cheesesteak weather give it a slice that bread has gotten nice and soft [Music] cheers y'all oh my word good night no more y'all that's money right there that rib eye this you gotta use a rib eye y'all it's so rich so meaty got tons of flavor gotta go with the ribeye bun has been steamed where we
