celebrity Apex the second ship in celebrities Innovative Edge class series raises the bar for Modern Luxury cruising from its strike and exterior design to its captivating interior spaces this ship exudes elegance and sophistication having had the opportunity to experience the cruise aboard celebrity Apex we can confidently say that it offers a cruise experience like which you'd struggle to find on any other class of ship at Sea the exterior of celebrity Apex is a sight to behold of its Sleek contemporary design the ship stands Out Among the Sea of Cruise Lin is in existence it unique silhouette and distinctive orange Magic Carpet that moves up and down the side of the ship are not only visually appealing but also functional offering breef dayen views versatile event spaces and a practical tender embarcation platform once on board you're immediately greeted by the impressive Grand Plaza the ship's Central Hub this multi-c Atrium is a masterpiece of design featuring a fusion of modern architecture LED lighting and an array of of upscale bars and restaurants the size and scale of the ground Plaza are quite frankly or inspiring setting the tone for the ship's overall design ethos celebrity Apex offers a range of accommodation options from inside cabins to retreat Suites the most common stat room category the infinite Veranda has its unique features infinite Veranda State rooms measure 202 ft or just under 19 squ M which is about average for a cruise ship which sits in the premium Cruise category while the concept of an infinite Veranda may sound appealing it comes with some limitations which you should consider the Vera is essentially a window that can be opened but doing so turns off the air conditioning which can be uncomfortable in tropical climates additionally the Verandas are automatically closed during unsettled weather which can massively limit their use during your cruise the cabin was welld designed with thoughtful touches like ample power outlets including USB ports and a floating desk that maximize space if you had no use for the desk the only drawback was a relatively small w wardrobe space which could be insufficient for longer cruises or when there is more than two people sharing this grade of stateroom the bathrooms in all grades of stateroom aboard this ship are surprisingly spacious featuring a large wash basin a plug socket a hair dryer and a generously sized shower with glass door and a few different shower nozzles however the toiletries provided were not of the premium quality offered by some other Cruise Lines including Holland America Cod and even piano cruises which is firmly in the mainstream Cruise category in the future it would be nice if celebrity could consider upgrading their toiletry offerings so that they can at least rival their competitors in this regard aboard celebrity Apex there is something of a class-based system that provides different perks and benefits to passengers depending on the category they choose a standard Celebrity Cruise fair for standard infinite Veranda State rooms and Below include the standard perks and benefits such as Port taxes accommodation food and domain dining an Ocean View cafe and entertainment conge class features priority check-in and disembarkation exclusive events such as welcome aboard parties concierge class lunches and destination seminars time is prioritized over other guests Aqua class is for those staying in aqua class infinite fanda staterooms or Aqua class Sky Suites guests in this class can enjoy the luxurious comfort of cashmere bedding in your stateroom access to the ship's fermal suite and relaxation area complimentary Fitness classes exclusive access to the Blue restaurant which is the main restaurant for aqua class guests complimentary bottled water delivered to your state room each day and discounts on spa treatments and packages The Retreat is the most prestigious class on board and is included as is part of a variety of sweet options from Sky Suites to Edge Villas and Beyond you can expect premium perks such as premium drinks premium Wi-Fi prepaid tips and unb credit to use at Guest discretion guests will also have access to the retreat Lounge which offers stunning views and serves complimentary Beverages and Gourmet Bites throughout the day an exclusive concierge is also available to assist with any special request luminated Retreat will be your main dining venue and is the most exclusive dining venue on this sh featuring menu is crafted by Michelin starf Daniel BL and when it comes to relaxing few places can match the Comfort like the retreat Sund deck which features an exclusive pool hot tubs Cabanas and a bar serving cocktails and light bites all day long retreat is the Pinnacle of luxury monotonous the extensive menu choices including theme selections ensure there's something for everyone the quality of the cuisine in the main dining rooms is exceptional with memorable dishes like blue cheese sule and lobster Roto in addition to the main dining rooms the ship features a variety of other inclusive eateries including an ocean food Cafe which is one of the largest and best quality buffets at Sea you'll find a selection of high quality dishes from all around the world with food to please even the fussiest of eaters at the very after of this venue you'll find a Pizza Station where they make freshly made pizza all day long and late into the night there's also Scoops ice cream counter where you can buy tasty Italian gelato for a small extra charge the Ocean View cafe is open for breakfast lunch dinner and late night snacks you have The Spar Cafe which can be found in the stunning adults only salarium serving fresh movies salads and other healthier options for breakfast and lunch the mar gr offers delicious burgers and hot dogs and the plant-based Burger is particularly noteworthy this inclusive dining venue is located by The Resort pool and is open from late morning until early evening the Eden Cafe also serves healthier alternatives for breakfast and lunch on a seay if you love coffee cafe albo is located on Deck four in the Grand Plaza cakes and French pastries are complimentary whenever you purchase a drink here if you have a classic or premium drinks package whilst on board you can simply add this venue to the list of inclusive feries fine cut Steakhouse aboard celebrity Apex is an absolute gem for steak lovers charged at $55 per person this restaurant exudes an elegant and intimate Ambiance setting the stage for a truly memorable dining experience the star of the show the stakes are of the highest quality and are experted prepared while fine cart is primarily known for its Stakes don't don't overlook the delicious starters sides and desserts fine cut Steakhouse delivers a dining experience that's truly A Cut Above the Rest the Gran beastro provides a taste of French cuisine with mouth water and CPS and pastries for breakfast and lunch the Gran beo makes for a nice treat for lunch on a c day and cost $30 per person the gourmet burger and creps would be our recommendation in the evening this venue transforms into the petite Chef an interactive dining experience with artistic projections of a chef preparing your meal right before your eyes this experience costs $55 per person and it's worth every penny rum 5 the ship sushi restaurant is a price eruption but offers high quality sushi and seafood dishes RM 5 operates by alakar pricing and is open for lunch and dinner each day of your cruise when the magic carpet is located on the lower decks and the weather allows you can also order small plates to the floating Terrace including the calamari and signature lobster roll the rooftop garden Grill while setting a beautiful outdoor setting disappointed with its underwhelming food quality compared to its price of $45 per person we love the setting but this was our least favorite specialty restaurant on board and it was the same experience aboard celebrity Beyond a few months earlier the price just seems exorbitant for some grill chicken and seafood and some salad it's also worth noting that the Caesar salad was better tastier and better presented at the inclusive Ocean View cafe Eden restaurant with it $60 cover charge is a must visit for truly exceptional dining EXP experience it panoramic views and outstanding dishes make it a standout specialty restaurant on board and a perfect dining venue for special occasions everything we ate was crafted and cooked to absolute perfection this is a must try for any food e celebrity Apex shines when it comes to entertainment and activities the ships theater offers worldclass Production shows that are exclusive to Apex including rockentry tree of life and crystallize all of which were extraordinary and have set a very high Benchmark for cruise ship the theater entertainment the theater features a 20ft tall wraparound 4K LED screen comprised of 17 million pixels and integrate seamlessly with floor projection technology the shows performed here are incredible and must not be missed throughout the ship you'll find live music entertainment from the famous martini bar in the Grand Plaza to the intimate setting of Eden and the club the variety and quality of musical performances enhance the overall Ambience of this beautiful ship during the day the ship offers a range of activities from quizzes and bingo to Fitness classes and movie screenings the resort pool with its massive size and elegant design is a highlight of relaxation and poolside entertainment the adults only sarian pool offers a tranquil escape with comfortable lounges and a spar Cafe just a stone throw away celebrity Apex also has a rather beautiful Spar on board where you can treat yourself to a past for $69 per person or $219 per person for a week surprisingly there is no hydrop in the SP Apex something which you would probably expect on a ship with so much well factor and Grandeur but the spa makes up for this shortcoming by having the best firal Suite we've seen consisting of saers steam rooms ice fountains tropical rain showers Swedish Orthopedic beds and lots of comfortable seating for you to enjoy children how would they Fair on Celebrity Apex it depends if they've dipped their toes in the likes of Royal Caribbean one of the other family focused Cruise Lines there is a children's Club but having seeing what facilities exist on other cruise ships with different Cruise Lines it's tiny and children may be a bit underwhelmed Celebrity Cruises is very much an adult Focus cruise line which we love but it wouldn't be our number one choice if we were going away as a family we know that if we were children we wouldn't be bored on here but if you have children that expect the water slides the surf simulators and bumper cars there could be tears and Tantrums service aboard celebrity Apex is genuinely excellent with attentive staff in most areas of the ship bar service in the ship is exceptional offering not only a wide range of beverages but also personable interactions with the bartenders however there were instances where service fell short of expectations in some cases restaurants star fail to inquire about the satisfaction of the meal leaving the overall dining experience feeling slightly impersonal when it comes to drink packages the cheapest package on offer is the zero proof package which is basically a premium soft drinks package with other Cruise Lines this package gives you access to the premium bottled water such as Ian and San pelo specialty coffees organic teas energy drinks Frozen smoothies zero proof cocktails sodas by pump and can vitamin water and freshly squeezed fruit juice as premium soft drink packages go it's very generous with what's on offer but it does cost $30 per person per day plus the 18% grues on top you would need to be drinking between 6 to 10 soft drinks a day to get your money's worth when you can consider a can of coke cost $3 and fruit juice and mocktails cost around $5 something to be mindful of is the fact that none of the drinks packages offered by celebrity include beverages in your cabin mini bar the classic package is a standard alcohol package on offer and cost around $89 per person per day and gratuities it includes everything under the previous package and all drinks up to the value of $10 but that's a pretty low ceiling when you consider that there are more alcoholic beverages over $10 than on even though there is still plenty of drinks on offer you do find yourself having to pick your way through the bar menus to see what is available which does withdraw that element of Freedom which usually comes with having a drinks package if you want to watch those talented bartenders make you a fancy cocktail while chucking ice cubes up in the air just deduct $10 from the menu price and that is what you'll pay those on the classic package also get 15% off bottles of wine and be mindful of the exclusions which apply the premium package is the most versatile package on board and does give you huge Freedom when it comes to beverages to order but it comes at an eye will twin cost of $109 per person per day plus gratuities which will add on around $1,800 onto a standard Cruise Fair based on a couple showing a cabin on a seven night cruise with this package you have access to all drinks with exceptions of mini bar charged at $17 or less which is a bit cheeky seeing as there's a fair few cocktails in bar menus which are still charged over that and let us let you into a little secret celebrity are being a bit sneaky with the cocktails at Eden they show you them in teacups glass globes and even a box but in reality they come in a plain ordinary glass tumbler which is a bit naughty staying connected whilst away on apex is easy and a breeze for cruise ship standards connectivity was very good indeed like everything else on board the two available options come with a hefty price tag the basic package costs $20 per person per day and is suitable for web browsing texting Wi-Fi messaging such as WhatsApp and emails the premium Wi-Fi package is $35 per person per day and gives you freedom to do pretty much anything online if you aren't bothered about using the internet whilst away you'll still be able to access the Celebrity Cruise app allowing you to book restaurants Reserve show excursions check your cabin stateroom and find out what's happening all around the ship that was our review of celebrity Apex just like our experience aboard celebrity Beyond celebrity Apex sets a new standard in premium cruising offering an extraordinary blend of design dining entertainment and service while there are some minor drawbacks such as the limitations of certain State Room categories and the onbo cost of drinks drink packages and spa treatments the overall quality of the crew's experience including the ship's design dining options and entertainment makes it worth the premium for travelers seeking a top tier cruise experience the overall experience of borders ship is nothing short of exceptional whether
